So without further ado, we're gonna move into in case you missed it, and I'm going to let Gibb start us off.
SPEAKER_02Rock, but Michigan won on a Hail Mary this weekend. Last ball goes up, Michigan comes down with it. Game over. Naturally tired internet. All three of you guys, Michigan cheated. Come on. This is part of the game.
SPEAKER_04They stormed the field in 29-point favorite.
SPEAKER_01This is a big win for them.
SPEAKER_02Never doing anything wrong. Never doing squeaky clean. No. The clock was right. There was an error on the TV. There was a delay. Everything's fine. Michigan men. We're Michigan men. We're undefeated. On to Oklahoma. Michigan by 20 next week.
SPEAKER_03That's what you gathered from last week's game. Yeah, didn't you watch the game? No. No. I did watch the replay.
SPEAKER_01Sure. I watched. I watched Michigan lose. There was zero seconds left on the clock. That's what the replay showed. Yes. It showed it live too. It was amazing.
SPEAKER_04The coach did the W from Western Michigan.
SPEAKER_01Go Broncos, huh?
SPEAKER_04Go Cowboys.
SPEAKER_01Well, stemming off of college football, I guess in case you missed it from me is Bravo SEC. Bravo SEC. And they started throwing around expulsions from the SEC towards LSU. LSU fucked around. They found out and they are withdrawing. I just think it's hilarious that LSU just wanted to push the boundaries, push the boundaries. Sure, yeah, you can go through court cases, you can go through Congress. Shit, whatever you want, you can go through it. Except you can't go through the SEC when they're like, hey, keep fucking around and we will kick you out of the league. Guess how many ex-NFL players are on LSU's roster now? Zero. Zero now.
SPEAKER_04That's a good thing.
SPEAKER_01Still not done though.
SPEAKER_04Like, really, what do we feel about the NIL? I mean, how it's changed the landscape of college football for all of us. We grew up with none of this stuff.
SPEAKER_01It's stupid that Congress isn't just like, hey, I should just give NCAA the power to do what they want. Instead, we have to pass laws regarding college football. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
SPEAKER_03I mean, that is wild, but like what college football has grown into, I kind of understand like why there needs to be some type of regulation. However, I'm just saying with the NIL money, like they should have been getting paid, but like in terms of how it's spread out and like how the universities are doing it, I think a lot of the stuff is kind of it needs to be regulated more, like the NFL.
SPEAKER_01It went from like cool, like I got a commercial because like I'm a popular player, like Jeremiah Smith. Like, cool, I got commercials, I got like yeah, like media money, but it turned into I will pay you a million dollars to come to my school. And that's just shouldn't be college football.
SPEAKER_04Was it Jackson Dart or Carson Beck? No, it might have been Carson Beck down in Miami. And he had like a Lamborghini.
SPEAKER_03It's like they all got Lambos, they all got Lambo G-Wagons. Like DJ Lagway was driving them. They used to be not rolling like that, but like now I'm even hearing from people that I'm close to in my family that work with a lot of basketball players, is like they all are driving around in like the latest Mercedes down in Columbus, Ohio. Like heard that came stacked up, so can't wait. But yeah, for me, my in case you missed it this week, is a a little bit on the sad side. So Barry Merrows is or was an ESPN hockey, like the only hockey guy at ESPN for the longest time. It was pretty much just him, I think John Bushgrass, and maybe two others, but like everybody knew Barry Merrills. He's a guy with like the mullet type looking hairstyle and just really like long. But he was a great guy on and off television, and then he really helped me and others really love the game of hockey even more. The only thing I didn't love about Barry is his dislike for left-handed shooters, which I was one, and he'd always say they have the ugliest looking shots. And I'm like, I don't know if Barry ain't talking about me, because I get busy out there. So that's the only thing I can ever say that Barry was completely wrong about in terms of hockey. But other than that, he was a great guy, a great legend, and he will be missed.
SPEAKER_01With hair like that, he can say what he wants.
SPEAKER_03Very true. That's a good thing.
SPEAKER_01Recipes bearish.
SPEAKER_03Man, so that was a very solemn note. What?
SPEAKER_04I was gonna say to jump not on such a somber note, you know, and follow that one. We got to witness if you missed it. Most of us did, because this match started at 3 33 a.m. This was the USA open match between Carlos Alcaraz and Ben Shelton, the USA tennis player. So wanted to talk about some tennis in case you guys missed it. Really cool match, seeing as Ben Shelton took out the defending champion in Carlos Alcaraz. And a cool stat to give you guys 146 miles an hour was the ace to win it. Wow. So that think about how fast that had coming at you. And Shelton will move on to take the semifinal TFO. So we'll see how that's going and hopefully we get an American win out of it, right?
SPEAKER_02What time do I need to set my number?
SPEAKER_04Well, you see what time that match was. That's typically when live tennis goes on at 3 30 to 4 30. Unless you get on the Challenger series.
SPEAKER_03Wait, what happened? I thought that was taking place in Queens, New York.
SPEAKER_01So they're playing 3 a.m. local time?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, then somebody snatched that guy here.
SPEAKER_04Well, in case you missed it, BG3 Cards has a promotion running right now through this week. Get on the Facebook, get on eBay, check them out. They got deals, they're making deals.
SPEAKER_02This episode is brought to you by BG3 Cards. Um, but if you're tired of paying eBay prices, just so eBay can take half your money, come find me in the Facebook card group. So stop buying, selling, trading. I actually need to have an auction going up while we're recording this. So get those bids in. Making questionable financial decisions on sports card daily. That's what we do here. Shoot our Instagram a message if you're interested in seeing my lot, or if you have anything you think I might be interested in. BG3 cards.
SPEAKER_01What's the card up for sale right now? LeBron James. Oh nice.
SPEAKER_02Currently trying to sell all my LeBron Lakers LeBron. Trying to move over to all of the cleanups.
SPEAKER_03And as we segue back here, we're going to talk about First Blood. Okay, so as you guys know, we are a big first TD group here. Can't say that I get more of an adrenaline rush from any other bet that we've been doing together as a collective unit these last couple years than our first TD wins. Moving on to those bets. I'm gonna be honest with you guys, Wednesday and Thursday I had a rough go with neither of my bets hitting. The Rashid Shahid pick looked crazy because he only had four yards receiving in a game where Sam Darnold went down after just five plays. Those bets did not turn out great. But I am hoping for bigger and better things moving forward throughout this weekend. So I'm gonna tell you guys my first blood TV picks. I think these have a better shot at hitting. So the first pick that I have for this Sunday night game is Dak Prescott at plus 3,000 odds. I know it seems like a very long very big long shot. However, I think when they get down to the red zone, he's probably gonna end up faking a handoff and just taking a walk-in TD himself rather than Javante Williams. So that's why he is my first TD pick. And then I am taking RJ Harvey in the Monday night game against the Chiefs, the Broncos versus the Chiefs. I am taking RJ Harvey to get probably a some type of screen pass from Bo Nicks to get into the end zone first. So those are my two picks heading into this weekend. How about you? Oh, sorry.
SPEAKER_01You decided to go with a walk-in touchdown for Dak Prescott? I'm thinking he's gonna get a walk-in.
SPEAKER_02All right. Little play action duele. Nobody goes for it, just walks right in. I could see that. And like Jake Ferguson for the Sunday night game. First touchdown, he's at 13 to 1 right now. Tight end. It's kind of the same concept. Play action pass right around the end zone. He should be open. He's kind of underrated, catches a lot of touchdowns. Monday night, I'm a sucker for the big tall receivers. Give me Cortland Sutton. I know they have the new toy receiver there in Waddle, but give me the tall Cortland Sutton back at the end zone. Bo Nicks and him have great. I love him. And I believe he's at also 13 to 1. So great value.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, with that game, I just went with Travis Kelsey. I feel like there's a lot of moving parts with KC. So go with the steady option, tried and true. You know who it is. They get down to the 10-yard line, it's gonna be a pass of Travis Kelsey. That's plus 950. Yeah, that Sunday night game, though. I mean, that's a toss-up. There are so many good players who can catch the ball, run the ball, shoot past the ball even. Jackson Dark could get in. Anyone can get in. I went with C D Lamb just because the odds are so good at 850. I feel like it's gonna be a shootout with the Giants. Cowboys are gonna want to put it on a show. They're in New York, they're gonna throw the ball around the field. So I think like maybe a bomb to CD Lamb to start. Plus 850 odds, can't really beat it. Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_03And you know, to piggyback off that, Jay, or Fred, uh I I agree with you. I look for a deck to go to air it out early and often in that game. However, I'm just hoping for my benefit that he gets stopped within the five-yard area and take a goal line TD in for himself. But yeah, I think he will be airing it out to CD. Okay, and so we have a couple more bets that we have to talk to you guys about. The first one is Don't Overthink It. And then we also have Dog of the Week. So I'm gonna lead us off here and talk about my bet for my Don't Overthink It, which is the favorite that I'm gonna pick for this week. So you've heard us talk about this game uh a little bit, and I have to say, I'm already getting the thumbs down. Yeah, I've been supporting the Steelers a lot on this pod. I picked them to win the AFC North over the Bengals and Ravens, and now I am picking them once again this week to be the winner over the Falcons. Yeah. And honestly, with that information that I shared about Tua going down in practice, look pretty serious. I think that Cooper Rush does not get it done against the Steelers this week, and I am taking them over the Falcons. Gibb, I saw a lot of thumbs down and a lot of negativity from you, my guy. So what do you say?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, good luck with that. I can't wait for the Steelers to let you down. I hate my own team, but the only team I hate more than my own team are the Steelers. So don't overthink it. Money line, pick of the week. I'm gonna ride the way from last year. I'm gonna take in the Bears over the Panthers. I'm big on Caleb Williams this year. I think the Bears are gonna have a pretty good year. Panthers are pretty good, but I I like the Bears over them. Don't overthink it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm trying not to overthink Cowboys over Giants. It's I don't think it's gonna be the same old Giants. I don't think it's gonna be the same old Cowboys. I think Cowboys have they've really added to the roster. I think their defense is actually gonna pull through this year. Yeah, they're looking legit. Caleb Downs might be an all-pro coming out of college. Giants, I think they'll actually be a pretty decent team this year. I think Giants will probably have a winning record this year. I don't know if I like them this game. I think they're gonna they're still gonna try to find themselves early in the year. Dax Jackson Dart will be a leader of the team. I think he's gonna lead, like I said, to a winning record.
SPEAKER_04But this game is gonna be fun to see Scat Man out there, though.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, him back from injury too. They got a lot of young guys who are studs. Neighbors, so but I think for me, money line with the line being two and a half, it's only minus 148 for the money line. Cowboys are for Giants. That's kind of my don't overthink it. We know that the Cowboys will probably be pretty good this year. We know the Giants just aren't there yet. Take the Cowboys.
SPEAKER_03Okay. I think that's uh great pick. Next dog of the week.
SPEAKER_04We're running over to Dogs of the Week.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. And one of those dogs I will be taking is not the Cleveland Browns. So there will be no Wolf Wolf chanting in my home this weekend. I will be taking the Jets over the Titans. That's correct. I am taking the New York Jets, which is almost as bad as taking the Browns, but I am still gonna take them. And their Geno Smith quarterbacking team over the Titans and Cam Ward and Cardinal Tate. I just I can't bring myself to think that Cam Ward and Cardinal Tate will have enough chemistry by week one to lead that team to a win over the Jets. I think the Jets have made some improvements to their defense. They have another year in the system. They may not get a pick, but I think they'll be able to stop the run and stop the pass. So yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and take the Jets over the Titans. Hate that. Couldn't hate it more. Okay.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01See the Titans are really improved. Yeah, go tens.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. Jets are Jets. That's like that might be a Hawk to that's your Hawk to a pick. That's what we'll we'll call that. We all get one, I guess. Dog of the week. I mean, it is dog of the week, so you gotta go out on the limb a little bit. I'm going Bucks over Bangles, Baker Baker, touchdown maker. Is that really over out of the limb there? Bengals. Bangles are always so dicey in the beginning of the season. You just never know what you're gonna get. I like the value of the buck.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he's healthy.
SPEAKER_03I think it's gonna be a good one.
SPEAKER_04Tamar Chase, T. Higgins. That offense of power against Tampa Bay, though. Tampa Bay's offense is not Cincinnati when you look at it on paper. Good thing the games aren't played on paper.
SPEAKER_01I don't mind the pick. Plus 170 for Bucks to beat the Bengals. Who knows, week one. I think it's pretty good odds for even teams. Yeah, I could easily see that happening. I think these are also two fairly even teams, Broncos Chiefs. I'm choosing the Broncos as the dog of the week over the Chiefs. Chiefs, I don't think they're gonna be as bad as last year. I think they'll be back to being a pretty good team. I think the Broncos are gonna be hungry coming out in week one. I think their defense is gonna run after Patrick Mahomes. He says he's 100%. He says he's full go. I think there's so many fast guys running around on Dever's defense that they're gonna get after him. So I see it's my dog of the week. Broncos over Chiefs. Money's not great. It's plus 124, but I've got a sneaky suspicion that the Broncos are gonna be the Chiefs week one. Love that pick.
SPEAKER_02I think you could make an argument most people would consider them the favorite, actually. So to get plus money there is is is pretty awesome. But yeah, that wraps up most of our bets that we have. I think we have a couple more stashed up here for you before the end of the show.
SPEAKER_04All right, guys. So welcome back. We are going to kick off our next segment where we're gonna have Parlay, we're gonna have Gib, and we're gonna have Fred go. What we're gonna talk about are some bet categories. So we have cover your ass, we have double down, so cover your ass. Obviously, that's pretty self-explanatory. We're talking about covers there with the spreads. Double down. That one we are talking about an afternoon slate game. So, of course, you're gonna pick the four o'clock games or Saturday or Sunday or Monday this weekend. And then, of course, we have Don't Overthink It. So that is a money line bet. And then we round that out with Dogs of the Week. So let's see how Parlay P is gonna cover his ass.
SPEAKER_03All right. So I intend to cover my ass this week with a team that I know can cover the spread, and that is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by the newly re-signed quarterback of Baker Mayfield, who is getting his money, and I think he's going to put that money to where his mouth is and cast that check and take a win over the Bengals. So yeah, I am going with Baker Mayfield.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna take Atlanta to cover three and a half over Pittsburgh. Tua Tagiola is gonna spit all over the Steelers. I think they're gonna keep it close or they might even win the game outright.
SPEAKER_03So are you sure about that one? Because you know Tua just went down with an oblique injury today at practice, and Cooper Rush was seen taking first team reps after that fact. So they are indeed preparing Cooper Rush to have to start in case Haktula is no longer able to play this week. So you sure you want to use that one as your CY, man? Just throwing it out there for you.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_02Michigan man at one point true Michigan man. You spit on that thing. We'll be all right.
SPEAKER_01It's funny because I basically took the opposite. I think the Steelers are absolutely gonna cover. And jokes on you. I placed a bet yesterday at Steelers minus three and a half, even though now Atlanta doesn't have a quarterback. So the Steelers minus three and a half is looking great. The odds are minus 102, so $100 bet you're looking at about 98 bucks. Yeah, I I I don't know where you're coming from in regards to Atlanta. I don't know how they're gonna do anything on offense against Steelers defense. But hey, teacher's own. Teach his own.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and he's a gib if you Robinson guy.
SPEAKER_03Gib, if you want to double down on that, we can move on to these. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02In the off chance that that bet doesn't hit, what we're gonna double down in the afternoon. In again, probably gonna win, but off-chance to Douglas. Give me the Dolphins plus three and a half, hawk to his old team, kind of covering him on every angle. They're getting three and a half against the Raiders. The Raiders might be the worst team in the NFL. They lost their best player, Brock. Hey. I'm sorry, man.
SPEAKER_03Don't see me rocking the throwback Bo Jack. Come on, Bonos. Bo Jackson. The Raiders are not the worst.
SPEAKER_02If they could use Bo Jackson, maybe they could put him at quarterback or tight end or something. I don't know. But give me the Dolphins all day. I love Malik Willis. I think it's a close game, like a 13 to 10 type of game. Give me the police with the Dolphins. Wow.
SPEAKER_03That is quite the pick there. However, to counter for me, now if I somehow lose my first bet with my CYA, I'm going to double down again with the underdog here and take the commanders to cover, which at the time was five and a half. Now I'm looking at some places and saying six even for the commanders versus the Eagles. But this is a division game. I don't know what the Commanders might have lost with their offensive line. I know Tunzel's out for the year with a, I believe, a torn biceps or something like that. However, I still don't foresee them losing to the Eagles by six or five. It's just not happening. So yeah, if for some reason don't win with Baker, I'm definitely doubling down with the Commanders. And that's who I'm taking this week. Bucks and the Commanders. Fred, how about you?
SPEAKER_01So after you guys already made your picks, you're like, hey, you get to choose. Between Green Bay and Minnesota or Arizona and the Chargers. And I was like, hey, no, I'm not going to do it. So I know this is a gambling podcast, but I am Frugal Fred. And if I have to choose between those games, I'm not going to bet. I'm just not going to do it. You have a coin flip between Green Bay and Minnesota. You think you got inside information on how well Green Bay is going to play on the road against Kyler Murray-led Minnesota? Nobody has any clue. Or Arizona and the Chargers. Chargers, I mean, I could see them covering the nine and a half point spread at the same time, though. Like, does anybody really know? Skame one, I have no confidence in that game. Who knows? Jacoby Brissett could come out and just bombs the newly reinvented Marvin.
SPEAKER_03Kobe Brissett is going to toss some bombs. Now, who knows? To whom? I'm not sure, but he's going to toss some bombs. 10 points Fred might be the other team. Michael Wilson. So this is the same.
SPEAKER_02Fred is going to be sleeping on the couch Saturday night. His wife, diehard Packers fan, he can't even do a double down bet on the Packers to support his wife. So good luck Saturday night, sir.
SPEAKER_03That's a great point, Fred. You might have an issue in your hands once.
SPEAKER_01In my defense, she's going to bet on Minnesota, right? Hey, wifey, you're watching this. I'm so sorry. I cannot pick the Packers to be in Minnesota this week. Yeah, we need we need money for the mortgage. That's rough, man.
SPEAKER_04Double down.
SPEAKER_03Hey. You know, uh I understand. But speaking of things that your wife might not let you do this weekend, boy. Which may be golfing for some of us. And you know, those days are gonna be few and far between for us here in Ohio. So that's why you need to get to Bunker Hill Golf Course. That's correct. You need to get there, and we're gonna have a quick word from our sponsor, Bunker Hill.
SPEAKER_00Hi, Bruce Drennan here for my good friends at Bunker Hill Golf Club in Medina. I love you, Bunker Hill. You've heard me talk the last couple of years about the great golf outings at Bunker Hill. They make it so easy. Company employee or client appreciation outings, fundraisers, the specialty and passion of the great folks at Bunker Hill. What a golf course! It's a great track with renovations. You can't beat it at Bunker Hill. Get on out to Bunker Hill and test the challenge of a great public course. Bunker Hill Golf.
SPEAKER_03So you know, guys, we premiered the segment last week. I'd started, I preface it by saying it was near and dear to our heart, and it still is. Okay, it's called Remember When. Remember When was a great segment for us.
SPEAKER_02But did want to flip it over to a segment that was awesome last week. We're gonna continue doing it. It's where we talk about a story we've all known each other since we were anywhere from six years old through college. So called Remember When. It's gonna be a funny story that involved at least one, if not multiple, of us. And this week is actually my favorite one we're gonna have the entire season. It's about one of the coolest gambling wins you'll ever hear about my man Harley D at his own bachelor party in Vegas. So I'm gonna I'm gonna kick it on the game.
SPEAKER_03That was a hell of an intro, Gib. I appreciate that. Meh. You know, uh I appreciate that because you guys did break my heart a little bit. This is my birthday bachelor party taking place in 2022 in Vegas, which is my happy place. And I asked my good friends who are all here on this podcast with me, all three. I said, Hey guys, I'm getting married this year. You guys want to come to Vegas with me one last time? I need you guys. And we are looking at three people that all said, nah, I can't do it, man. I can come to the wedding, though, because my wife will let me because it's in Jamaica. So we can do that. The wedding in Jamaica had a pit. But I was like, dude, it's just come on, it's Vegas. It's me. It's Pete in Vegas. You guys were like, absolutely not. We're seeing you in Jamaica, man. Love you, buddy. So anyway, I was at my bachelor party slash birthday party, having fun as bachelor's due for one last hurrah. As you guys know, with Vegas being my happy place, my other safe place inside of this happy space called Vegas for me is the MGM Sportsbook. So I rallied the troops during my bachelor party, and I'm like, hey guys, we gotta go, right? The whole team. We're all gone. Everybody gets some Ubers, we going over to MGM. I'm gonna play some bets. You know, being with a group of like nine or ten dudes, you know how it happens. Some people got lost on the way, some people ended up at a few poker tables and playing blackjack and roulette. So, you know, I ended up at one of the kiosks putting in some bets, and I was initially intending on doing like over some type of parlay with like over-under win totals, but I couldn't make that parlay happen. So I left and went to the desk, and my dude that was with me was supposed to come with me to the desk to make the bet. Somehow he got lost in the shuffle, he didn't make it there. So I put 30 bucks down on, I believe it was a 10-game parlay, and it was full of over-unders. I did this on my actual birthday. So, yes, on my I believe 34th birthday, I put this parlay together, just like putting a whole bunch of games together, and I'm getting asked by my friends at the time who were with me. They're like, hey, do you know what you're doing? I'm like, Yeah, totally. Okay, this is gonna win. Trust me. No doubt. So I get back to my teams by the mascots. Yeah, well, that's that's totally a great strategy. Team cards. Team colors, mascots. No, man. I was just making some really solid picks. I'll share the the artwork photo with everyone so you can get a good feel of you know just how confident I was when I was putting these picks in here. But yeah, I know for a fact that the Browns Jets game went over, and that game, the the crazy ending to that game, you'll you'll see in the highlights. It was a Joe Flacco-led Jets team. Yeah, that's right. When he was on the Jets, he came back and thrashed the Browns and beat them. Yeah, it's great. It's great time. But yeah, man, so back at the room, you know, a couple days later, I wake up and I'm like, I think it's like 8 a.m. Vegas time, which is like I believe 11. I'm back home, and I hit up my man Gibb, who left me hanging, and I said, Hey man, I'm feeling really good about these parlays today. You want to get in on this action, just let me know, buddy. I got you. And I got crickets from that guy. That guy never returned my text or call until like hours later, like during the like afternoon football games out west. So this is like 7 p.m. his time. And I'm like, why would my guy like just not even hit me up, man? Like, what happened?
SPEAKER_02Kip, like you just you know I think you text me about bets a hundred times, and I think I've responded 99 times. I'm in. This is the only time I didn't respond. I was golfing on a golf hour, didn't see the text until it was way too late. And then, you know, a little part of me inside was like, 10-game parlay, probably not gonna win anyways, not a big deal. That's awful, man.
SPEAKER_03You just didn't even believe in your boy, man.
SPEAKER_02You know, no faith.
SPEAKER_01None of the things 10-game parlays do you put in a year?
SPEAKER_03Not the point, Fred. It's a law of averages, and I've trimmed it down, you guys. I'm at seven or eight now. But anyway, back when I was still rolling with 10, maybe Mike or Waff. I don't know. We'll get back to it. Don't worry. So, yeah, man. Back to when Gib didn't hit me up, and I proceeded to go to the Raiders and Cardinals game. Because as you can see by my attire, I have family in Oakland who made me into a secondary Raiders fan. Yes. I know it sounds crazy that I have allegiances to two different teams. Sue me. They both suck, whatever.
SPEAKER_04It happens.
SPEAKER_03I was at that game, I was weighing this hat, this very same hat, and uh Raiders t-shirt when they were playing the Cardinals that year. Okay, so this is like like Kyler Murray still like not sucking Kyler Murray, okay? I got to witness like the Derek Carr-led Raiders like storm out to like an actual lead, man. They were up by like at least one or two scores playing good, like all-around football. Like you really couldn't ask for more. But then they had to do what have seen happen so many times when the Browns played. But this time I got to witness it in really good scenes in sipping on Dolsechi. So I was a little toasted. But, you know, nonetheless, man, I saw them just start letting Kyler Murray do what he used to do best, and that's just dice people up. He started running all over that team. Then he was making nice throws, and next thing I know, okay, they are back. Like they are within four points. Things are looking great, like it's looking good out there. And then he throws a touchdown. He does some other wizardry on a two-point conversion. He ran back like 20 yards. Awesome. And he ends up scoring and it like tied the game up. I needed that game to go over, and they were in overtime at this point. The Raiders have the ball, and it's looking like they're about to lock it up and just kick a field goal to win. And I'm like, damn, dude, I need some more points. This is crazy. Like, this can't in this way. And Derek Carr makes a pass to Hunter Winthrow. Or Renfro, sorry. He gets hit. The dude like hits him, dislodges the ball, and they the Cardinals pick it up and run it back for a TD for me to get that over and keep that parlay going, man. Like, yeah, you're right, kid. That was a one in a million type of thing. But for me to be there and witness it live makes this story so much better for me. So, like, I'm leaving Allegiance Stadium with all these sad Raiders fans, but I'm raring Raiders gear, but I'm bubbly because my parlay is still in play, bro. Everybody else is like, dude, I can't believe he blew it again. And I was like, yeah, sorry. But in reality, I was not sorry at all. So I got back to the hotel again, and being in Vegas, it was 5 p.m. instead of back at home, it would have been like eight or something. So we were watching the Sunday night game at five, which felt weird. But anyway, the Packers were playing the Bears divisional game back when the Bears were really crappy. But I was like, no, I think I'm gonna bet the under in this game because their defense usually shows up and they did, and they kept Aaron Rodgers from scoring too many touchdowns, which really helped me out. And I was able to cash that bet in. And when I did, like, dude, it was like a state of euphoria, but like really silent. Like, I don't know how to explain this shit to you guys, but like I saw that ticket, I looked at it, I'm like, holy shit, it is all of and I kept it on the low because I don't want to tell everybody in the room because I had this like weird premonition. And if I did, I'd never leave Vegas with that money. Because you know how I guys, you know how I am, especially in that city. When money hits with my hand, bro, it never stays long. I'm like, I can't double, triple down, quadruple, dude. 18k, like 18,000 retirement, man. Not close.
SPEAKER_02But if you take that 18k and yeah, double down, so you may have kept it quiet, but I you told me about the bet, and you when you told me about the game, because what you didn't leave this out, but what people don't realize is almost every overtime game, just they kick a field goal and they win. If somebody kicks a field goal in overtime in that Raiders game, you lose the bet. Right. Only you can win is either on a long touchdown or a fumbled interception return. So the odds of that happening are so crazy. So you're there, that's awesome. You're pumped. I'm bummed because I missed out on this bet. I'm like, ah, it never would have hit. Now you're telling me there's one game left. I think you text me and I'm like, hedge your bet. Bet like 10 grand on the opposite of whatever you have. So at least you win one way or the other. And you're like, all right, yeah, cool. So I'm thinking you're gonna get it. I had no intention to doing it. Yeah, I thought for sure you did. The final game that hits, and you win, and I'm like, crap, he probably lost like 10 grand because I told him to hedge the bet. I call him, I'm like, do you hedge? He's like, Nope. I'm like, fucking, this is awesome. Worst beat of my life. That $10 text that I would have responded to you would have netted me like six grand. All I had to say was yes, or I'm in, right? Every other time in my life. I tell this story literally probably once a month about the worst gambling beat that I and I didn't even place a bet. I wasn't even in the state, but I felt so part of it because I missed out on six thousand dollars because I was golfing. So, most expensive round of golf I've ever played in my life.
SPEAKER_03That's wild. Never realized that that that was a that really was an expensive round of golf. You could have got some really nice clubs, man. Sure was golf cards. So that was Remember When. Now we're gonna head into our final takes of this show. And once again, I'm gonna lead us off with my final take, which is same game parlays. So I have my final take of the week is going to go back to a popular pick we've been discussing all show, which is the Cincinnati Bengals versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I'm gonna utilize that to make a same game parlay of the over, which at the time that I placed that bet was 51 and a half points. I have Jamar Chase for the second leg with an anytime TD. I'm gonna take Emeka Ibuka to have five plus receptions, and I'm taking Bucky Irving for 80 plus receiving and rushing yards combined. That gives me a total odds of 1,000. And I think that is a very cashable bet. So that's gonna be my final take. I'm gonna give you the same game parley of the Bucks versus Bengals, and I'm taking a lot of Bucks props. What's your final take of the week? Yeah, a lot of points, man.
SPEAKER_02This is this is probably gonna be a record player on this one for me when it comes to this segment. But I'm gonna fade the Browns, the worst team in the NFL. All right, once again. Yeah, I mean, I I used to love them.
SPEAKER_04I support that message.
SPEAKER_02They are just so terrible. I couldn't hate a sports team more than I hate them at this exact moment. But fade Cleveland Parlay. I'm taking under 40 and a half because we ain't gonna score any points. I'm taking want to throw at least one interception. If I could bet three interceptions, I would, but the website doesn't okay. I'm gonna take not under 171.5 yards because he's terrible. And I'm gonna take Jacksonville money line. So parley all bad together, you got plus four ten. To me, it's the easiest parlay I've ever placed. Probably score is gonna be 30 to zero.
SPEAKER_03So can you say that I disagree there? Yeah, I would ball Browns. Yeah, god, yeah. I don't see anything I can disagree with, so we're gonna uh move it on. Fred, what are you thinking for your picks?
SPEAKER_01Yep. As Frugal Frugal Fred goes, I picked a three-legger. Four leggers, five leggers, they'll scare me a little bit. Too much, okay. Yeah, I mean, I could barely hit two-game or two-legged parlays, so I'll stick to three on this one. I picked the Saints versus Lions as the same-game parlay. I like Shu I like Shuck plus 12 40 passing yards. I think they're gonna be down by a lot. No offense to the Saints. I think they're actually gonna have a little uptick this year, but I like the Lions this year. I think Shuck's gonna have to pass his way into some kind of a decent game.
SPEAKER_03I'd love to see. Yeah, I can see.
SPEAKER_01Somewhat of a close game. So he's gonna have two 40 plus passing yards. I got Travis H and anytime TD. I think if especially if they're gonna go down early, they're gonna be throwing him the ball. So he might have one, maybe two receiving TDs, just for the fact that they're gonna they're gonna be down by a lot.
SPEAKER_03They are I'm gonna be honest with you, he looks a little slower lately than what I've seen, but uh yeah, man, just you can keep it going. I'm sorry. I just sorry to interrupt you. I had to tell you though. He looks a little slow, man. He looked a little slow.
SPEAKER_01Everybody ages at their own rate. I'm uh 38 going on 60. So my third leg, I'm going with the Lions over 27 and a half points. I think they're gonna score more than four touchdowns around. So with those three legs, my same game parlay comes out to plus 400. Not bad. It's 100 units to win 400.
SPEAKER_03Can't disagree with anything there, Fred. I love that, Fred. That's a solid three picks, man. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So well, we'll go ahead and finish up here. So I don't have a three-pick parlay, but I do have some stat corrections from earlier. So earlier, my final take, we were talking about the tennis match between Carlos Alcalcar and Ben Shelton. So it finished at 3:33 a.m., which was a match started at 11. So it was a four and a half hour match.
SPEAKER_01So shit about tennis. How long are these matches? Geez, four and a half? Are all of them that long?
SPEAKER_04That's a no, that's an extremely long match because that was the best out of five. Okay. Typically, you'll see a best out of three. So two games. Three sets. Yeah, three sets. So when you're looking at that, I wanted to give you guys that stat correction. I tried to look up some stats for Cleveland, and it gave me just a picture of a toilet and said toilet bowl browns.
SPEAKER_03So I couldn't that that shakes out.
SPEAKER_04Couldn't find any stats on those guys. Pittsburgh against the spread at home. They are six and four over all time. So when you're looking at that right there, they three and one in 2025 alone. Eagles Commanders, I got a cool stat there. They Eagles actually have a series lead of 91 and 88 and six ties over all time. They are one and one postseason. Right. And then what we'll do is we're actually going to talk about some of my bets. And if you've been following us through this first week, this first episode, we all enjoy having some money on the line, and we decided to look at JSN for that ladder bet. We ended up looking at only one rung on that ladder hit at halftime. We were sweating it out, really kind of looking at it, going, okay, well, how's this gonna go across when I get with the boys and talk about it? But we might not get any more waffles bets on this show. Luckily enough, we ended up uh cashing this ladder bet, so we live to fight another day. See you, Waffle.
SPEAKER_03Congrats to you, Waffle. And thank you for cashing in one bet because without you, we would be losers. So thank you, sir.
SPEAKER_04So then we got something to double down. So we'll piggyback on the double down segment there. We are going with another ladder. So we're gonna continue to try to climb to success. Keep it going. This ladder, what we're gonna do is run with Caleb Williams for passing yards. I think this one will hit really easily. Uh, I say that now, and then episode three, what's gonna happen? So we'll go 200, 220, 250, and then 300. So if you look at the runs on that, I think it can happen. Game one, Chicago's got a lot of promise behind them when it comes to the team. A youth, a lot of energy. So hopefully Caleb Williams brings up another ladder for us.
SPEAKER_02Should we do a nail polish? Are you up for a nail polish bet? Like what color? We're doing like how many fingers? I get primary colors.
SPEAKER_04So it's four four ladders.
SPEAKER_02Just whoever loses, nobody else. You get black nails, Fred, you get white nails.
SPEAKER_03White.
SPEAKER_02Wow. I feel like that's quite a bit.
SPEAKER_03I don't even want to get into yeah, we'll just we'll just I don't I don't think we can we can't gamble on that. That was purely random. It's a failing program. You know, that bad concept is failing us as a whole unit here.
SPEAKER_04But the ladders, that's what all that matters.
SPEAKER_03The ladders that's all that matters. Well, folks you're absolutely right. And you know, with that bit, yeah. I'm just I can't even say that's gonna turn into a drinking game, gonna be honest with you guys. So we're gonna close this thing out here. We've reached that time. I think it's no no no no no. We're open to something like that. It's everything that you said, buddy. What you said is let me know that it's time to wrap this all up here. So we thank you for joining us and tuning in for us, our second episode. It's been great so far. We appreciate your support. As always, please make sure you like and subscribe everywhere that you can find us, uh which is everywhere that you watch and listen to podcasts, and also thank you. And we'll make sure that we keep you updated on the damage report next week of how many games that we were actually able to win, which probably won't be many, but hey, it'll be bad. Yeah, it'll be a lot of damage, okay. That can be for sure, for certain. So we thank you. All right, and anybody else got anything they want to say?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, this was awesome. I don't think any of us really knew what to expect after the first episode broke, but I know if you guys are even like me, I've been looking on Instagram, seeing how many views we got. I noticed we went global, we got some views in the United Kingdom and Sweden. Never would have thought that in a million years, just for talking about some sports, but all the support from friends and family. It's been really cool. So I don't think we're gonna get rich famous off this, but we appreciate you listening. We enjoy doing this. This is a lot of fun for us. We hope you keep listening. Hope you send it to some friends, family, anybody that may be interested. But I appreciate you, and I will see you next week from my end. I don't know if Fred or Waffle has any closing remarks. Love you guys. All right, and thank you for tuning in.
SPEAKER_03Keep gambling, and we out.
