Outlines help me understand the books of the Bible. I hope this outline of the book of Revelation helps you!
And uh, you know, I take what helps me in understanding the book of Revelation is uh having some kind of outline in mind and being able to follow this outline. It's kind of like following uh, you know, how uh everything is laid out in the book of Revelation. So let me just give you a little bit of an outline here that I work with that helps me understand. Uh chapters two and three, uh for course, chapter one is the introduction. This is where John is first uh confronted with uh Jesus and um and the vision and what's going to happen uh to him and what what God is going to give him, show him. And then we have chapters two and three. Uh then we have um uh uh the uh it is the uh the the outline of the of the church, the body of Christ. And uh this is the body of Christ still on the earth, chapter two and three. Then we get into chapter four, and the body of Christ is then taken off the earth, and the rest of what's going to be take place, John is going to see as he is in uh heaven, which is the same place that the body of Christ is. It represents the body of Christ. Um and we realize that this is necessary because in 2 Thessalonians 2.7 it tells us, for the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, only he who will now restrain will do so until he is taken out of the way. So it says the restrainer uh will have to be taken out of the way before the Antichrist can be revealed. That's what that's talking about in 2 Thessalonians 2.7. And so the Antichrist is about to be revealed, and the Antichrist is about to come on the scene, and we'll see that uh starting in chapter 6. But uh, so for that to happen is that the church has to be taken out. And so the church is being taken out uh in chapter 4. And chapter 5, uh, Jesus now, who is the Lamb that is slain before the throne, he is found worthy to take the scroll with the seven seals around it, the scroll um out of the hands of God. Uh I like to call it the deed to the earth. Jesus is claiming the deed to the earth. He has won the right, earned the right. I don't know if one is a good, a good uh word, a good description, but he has earned the right, he has bought and purchased the right for the deed to the earth. So he takes the deed to the earth, the scroll that has the final uh judgment of God, the end of the kingdom of darkness, the end of Satan, the end of demons, the end of unrighteousness, the end of the law of sin and death. He has that there and he has taken it in hand. Chapters six, seven, and eight are the opening of these seals. Each seal will be opened one at a time. And the first four seals that will be be opened will be the white, the rider on the white horse, which is the Antichrist, the rider then on the red horse, which is uh war or takes peace from the earth, which is will bring war. Uh, the rider on the black horse, which is uh the economy, will crash. He uh controls the economy and will bring famine and stuff because of the economy and the high interest rate and the inflation that will take place because of war and everything else that's gone on. And then the pale horse or the green horse. It's in the Greek that is really green, that green horse will carry the uh the rider's death and and Hades will follow. And so, of course, obviously, as um uh the inflation has gone up and things have happened, we see now that uh uh that death and hell will follow uh in that. So understanding this outline helps me to understand the book of Revelation and put things in perspective. Uh we have to understand is the opening of these seals is really just the table of contents, if you will, in a in a sense. It is not actually what's happening, it is releasing, just like here, it is releasing the four main carriers, the four main players that will bring the wrath of God to the earth. The wrath will be brought by, will be led by the Antichrist, the wrath uh will be led by war and and and uh and and and problems and and and you know violence and uh volatility that will be going on. And then uh that will hurt and crash the economy, and the economy being hurt is a part of the wrath that will go on to the place to where uh you know a day's wage will be enough to get uh bread to eat, and that's all. And then the last thing will be death and Hades, and that will be the uh the last writer. And all these four riders will bring uh the wrath of God. We see that uh when we get out of these seven seals, they get done. We go into seven trumpets. That is the beginning of uh that is the the now the carrying out of uh the wrath of God, and it is the first three and a half years of the tribulation period is the blowing of these trumpets and the wrath that takes place with each trumpet, uh, or the uh the the wrath of God, the judgment of God that takes place with each trumpet. Then we go into the bold judgments, the seven bold judgments, that's the last three and a half years of the tribulation period, and it's called the Great Tribulation Period. And it is so devastating that Jesus says that if the Son of Man does not return, talking about himself, if he does not return, that uh man will uh not a not a flesh, not a person will be saved.
