A small outline of Revelation 6 & 7
In Revelation chapter 6, uh we see a uh and it's actually six and seven, we see a snapshot of um of the tribulation period. Now, what is going on is is that Jesus in chapter five uh took the scroll out of the hand of the Father. This is what I like to refer to as the deed of the earth. It has writing on the front and on the back, and um and uh it is sealed with seven seals. Now the writing on the front and the back uh I believe speaks to a couple different things. It speaks to the fact that uh uh it is the complete wrath of God in its completion. And second of all, that um uh that uh uh that it is two parts of the tribulation period. That's what this is about, is about the wrath of God and the tribulation period. It is about the first three and a half years and then the second three and a half years, which Jesus called the Great Tribulation Period. And um, so we start out in chapter six, and he is taking and opening the seals, and he goes through chapter seven, and how we know that this is a snapshot, so to speak, of the entire tribulation period is it starts out with a rider on a white horse, okay, and then it ends in chapter seven. It ends now the last seal hadn't been taken off yet. That'll happen in eight, but that that seal being taken off, the last one, uh, will be the start of the tribulation period. But in chapter seven, it ends then with uh, and so he said to me, These are the ones talking about these people that are standing before the throne now. These are the ones who have come out of great tribulation and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. And therefore they are before the throne of God, serving him day and night in his temple, and he who sets on the throne will dwell among them. They shall neither hunger nor uh any more, nor thirst any more. The sun shall not strike them, nor any heat, for the lamb who is the in the midst of the throne uh will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eye. So it starts with first off the rider and the white horse, and then it ends with that statement, which is the end of the tribulation period. So it's a snapshot, chapters six and seven. Uh the opening of the seals are the snapshot. It's opening and it's it's like a scroll, and it and it is a scroll, and it's slowly revealing uh pieces of the tribulation period before us until it reveals all of it. And then what will happen in the following chapters, uh eight throughout the rest of the book, is that it's going to give us the specifics of these, of this tribulation period. Now it starts out in uh verse one and two of uh of opening the first seal in chapter six of the rider on the white horse. And this is the antichrist. And there's some very interesting things that it tells us just in this verse about in these verses about the Antichrist. It says that when they open it, he is on a white horse, okay. And um it says that uh let me let me just go ahead and read that. It says, Now I saw the lamb open one of the seals, and I heard one of the four uh living creatures saying with a loud voice and thunder, come. And I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering to conquer. Okay, a couple things it tells us there. He had a bow, but he didn't have any arrows. Now, why is that important is is because uh this is telling us that he is not going to conquer with necessary with force exactly. He is going to conquer with political manipulation and with manipulation in things. He is going to conquer that way. Also, we know that there will be a second beast, as as he's called, is the prophet, and he will work wonders in the uh we'll find this out later. He will work wonders in the sight of the beast, and this will help turn the people at that time towards the beast, which is the antichrist. And um, and so so he will he will uh be able to manipulate. This is the way he will receive his crown. The crown he receives is that of a leadership. And then it also uses the words that says he went out conquering and to conquer. Now that gives us the, and that's in the New King James, that gives us the flavor that there's some kind of war or some kind of battle or violence going on, but that's not what's what's going on here. Those words mean overcoming. In fact, some translations use that, use the word overcoming. It says he is overcoming and has overcome. And again, this refers to the fact of not using any kind of weapons, not using any kind of real force, but he is overcoming by his political manipulation of countries and things. All right. We have more to come on the book of Revelation and get into the second seal later. God bless you.
