The introduction to the tribulation period

SPEAKER_00

To help us understand Revelation 6 and 7, you know, I've I've heard a lot of things taught and preached about it. They believe that these seals that are open, and uh they are like um uh wax seals, seven of them, that are holding the um the scroll that was in the hands of uh of God that Jesus was able to take out of his hands, what I like to call the deed of the earth. He is uh they are sealed with seven seals, and some teach that those are plagues or those are um uh plagues that are going to come upon uh that God is coming upon in the tribulation period. I don't believe that. What is going on here is the scroll is being opened, and what we are getting a glimpse of, and uh as I've called it in the past, a snapshot, we are seeing the goals or the reasons, if you may, or the phases, whatever, however you want to to you know term this, but God is giving us the four goals or four things that He is accomplishing with the tribulation period that's happening. Okay, in the first eight verses of chapter six, one through eight, God judges man. Excuse me, God judges man. Yeah, the judgment of man. God judges sinful man in that the final, and remember these are the final judgments. God judges sinful man one through eight. The second goal then is that God shows mercy to the martyrs of the tribulation period, and that's uh chapter six, verses nine through eleven. And then uh in chapter six, verses twelve through the end of the chapter, chapter seventeen, God judges a sin. That is sin against worth the the earth is under the law of sin and death, and God is bringing a judgment and an end to the law of sin and death. And then in chapter seven, God is uh fulfilling his promise to Abraham that there would be a remnant of his people saved, and that's uh the entire chapter of chapter seven, and and that is the uh uh the a part of the sixth seal that is open. So each one of these seals are open, and we are seeing the judgment of God. The last seal, the seventh seal, uh that will be open, uh will be in chapter eight. And what that seal is, is that seal is actually what starts the uh ceremony that we'll see, the ceremony that will actually start the tribulation period. And then we will have the seven trumpet judgments, which are um uh which are uh during the first three and a half years of the tribulation period. And then we have what is called uh God's final and complete wrath, which is the great tribulation period, which is the last three and a half years, which are all the bold judgments. Okay, but six and seven here is a snapshot of giving us the goals. What is God's goals uh in the tribulation period? One is to bring judgment, final judgment against man, second, to show mercy to the martyrs of the tribulation period. Uh third, the judgment of sin and the judgment of this world, and and ultimately the judgment of the kingdom of darkness and bringing uh this world, this uh kingdom of darkness down and bringing down the law of sin and death for good. The last one then is uh uh uh the God has fulfilled his promise to um to Abraham by uh by by sealing uh the uh the the remnant of Israel that is going to be saved. And uh God is fulfilling his promise to Abraham then that there would be a remnant of his people saved, and they and this is God fulfilling that promise. All right, I hope this helps you in understanding the book of Revelation a little more.
