reopen, hopefully in the middle of June and what a phase one looks like. 00:00:30.640 --> 00:00:42.880 And then the head of Must Ministries he presented and he talked about how during this shelter in place there has been an increase, an increase in domestic abuse, an increase in hunger, an increase in substance abuse. 00:00:42.960 --> 00:00:53.600 And then different pastors shared and they went through when and how they're gonna reopen their churches and what it's gonna look like with social distance and mask and bathrooms and disinfecting. 00:00:53.759 --> 00:00:58.560 I mean, I never knew What do we do? 00:01:49.040 --> 00:01:52.079 Do we fight all those battles on our own? 00:01:52.560 --> 00:02:09.520 And this text today in Joshua 10, as crazy as this story reads to modern readers, this story tells us that we are not alone while we work through battles and that God is with us and he's for us. 00:02:10.240 --> 00:02:14.080 So we're back in this Joshua story, this epic Old Testament story. 00:02:14.240 --> 00:02:18.879 Israel is up in the mountains of Canaan, they've worked their way in, they've won some battles. 00:02:19.120 --> 00:02:29.439 I'm always tempted to re-preach about God and war every time we come into a battle scene in the book of Joshua, but I did that back in Joshua too, so you can go back and listen to that. 00:02:29.599 --> 00:02:31.680 At this point, Israel has won several battles. 00:02:31.759 --> 00:02:33.919 They're up in the mountains, they have a good position. 00:02:34.080 --> 00:02:37.199 They've partnered up with this other city-state named Gibeon. 00:02:37.439 --> 00:02:41.759 They are a powerful force, and the king of Jerusalem knows it. 00:02:42.000 --> 00:02:55.199 And so the king of Jerusalem, he goes to a bunch of other city-states, he goes to their kings, he says, Hey, we got to team up, we gotta form a team, we've got to form a big army so we can fight Israel and we can fight Gibeon that has come in partnership with Israel. 00:02:55.360 --> 00:03:02.800 And this is the story we come into because the king of Jerusalem and all this big army he formed, they are going to take out Gibeon. 00:03:02.879 --> 00:03:03.759 They're going after Gibeon. 00:03:03.919 --> 00:03:07.280 So Gibeon goes to Joshua and says, Hey, Joshua, they're coming. 00:03:07.439 --> 00:03:08.159 We partnered up. 00:03:08.319 So Joshua came upon them suddenly, having marched up all night from Gilgal, and the Lord threw them into a panic before Israel, who struck them with a great blow at Gibeon and chased them by way of ascent of Bet-Horan, and struck them as far as Ezekiel and Makedah, and they fled before Israel while they were going down the ascent of Bet Haran. 00:03:52.159 --> 00:03:57.439 The Lord threw down large stones from heaven on them as far as Ezekiel, and they died. 00:03:57.759 --> 00:04:03.919 There were more who died because of the hailstones than the sons of Israel killed with the sword. neighbors, and I went to do the makeup, and I got out there, and the big sisters they just took the makeup kit and they started to do all the makeup, and I wanted to do the makeup, but I got my makeup right? 00:08:17.360 --> 00:08:24.000 So you're reminding, you're regathering old truths, or to awaken the mind. 00:08:26.000 --> 00:08:30.399 So the Spirit is awakening in you what is true about you. 00:08:48.480 You don't have to keep performing, you don't have to escape, that God welcomes you and lavishes you with delight and love and acceptance. 00:08:48.879 --> 00:08:51.440 Those are the darkness, but he's traveling, he's traveling during the night, and so he's running out of daylight. 00:09:32.080 --> 00:09:36.720 I mean, running out of nighttime, and daylight's gonna come, but he the sun stopped. 00:09:43.840 --> 00:09:45.919 Now, that could be a natural miracle. 00:09:46.080 --> 00:09:55.279 Very possible, not saying it's not, but the word stop is from the word damam, which means it can mean to be silent from shining. 00:09:55.840 --> 00:10:11.279 And so some commentators say, yeah, it could be a natural miracle, but it could also mean that God miraculously, also still miraculously, mind you, that somebody prayed in a storm, cloud storms come in that are so thick that it keeps darkness. 00:10:12.080 --> 00:10:14.000 And the Israelites could attack. 00:10:14.159 --> 00:10:20.559 And Joshua's army goes on to demolish all of this southern region of Canaan. 00:10:20.639 --> 00:10:27.519 And all the victories, just victory after victory, he goes through this Joshua Joshua captured all these kings and their land at one time because, because the Lord, God of Israel, fought for Israel. 00:10:47.120 --> 00:10:53.200 Point number two is this God is committed to be
