WEBVTT

00:00:00.239 --> 00:00:02.479
Good morning and happy Mother's Day.

00:00:02.640 --> 00:00:12.800
I'm so excited about this message and this sermon this morning because I get to share with the morning message and this teaching with my wife, Christy.

00:00:12.880 --> 00:00:16.480
And we haven't done shared teaching in a very long time.

00:00:16.640 --> 00:00:17.920
And so I'm excited to do that.

00:00:18.000 --> 00:00:28.480
I'm excited for you guys to get to hear from her sort of some of the implications of our passage this morning, specifically for moms, but then also I think it'll be in service to all of us.

00:00:28.640 --> 00:00:33.520
So this past Sunday night after dinner, we had our family dinner, and I cleaned up the kitchen.

00:00:33.600 --> 00:00:35.920
And don't be too uh proud of me on that.

00:00:36.079 --> 00:00:46.320
I can't be too proud of myself on that because Chris does all the cooking, and then I just sort of show up there at the end to do all the cleaning up, and I put on my Dave Matthews band, and my girls make fun of my music.

00:00:46.399 --> 00:00:48.320
And so I can do that, I can do the cleanup.

00:00:48.399 --> 00:00:49.600
So I did the cleanup.

00:00:49.920 --> 00:00:54.159
The girls they go and they get cleaned up and they shower up and they put on their PJs.

00:00:54.240 --> 00:00:55.679
We eventually get them in bed.

00:00:55.840 --> 00:01:06.640
And I'm not kidding when I say 45 seconds later, maybe 50, I'm on the couch and I have The Last Dance On, Michael Jordan's documentary new, which you should watch.

00:01:06.719 --> 00:01:07.680
It's amazing.

00:01:07.840 --> 00:01:14.959
But the point of the story is I look over to my left where Christy should be sitting in her chair, and she's not there.

00:01:15.200 --> 00:01:18.239
I'm there 45 seconds after the girls are in their bed.

00:01:18.319 --> 00:01:21.200
It doesn't take me long, but she is still up.

00:01:21.599 --> 00:01:28.400
And she's getting the house sort of reset a little bit, and she's getting the girls' schoolwork in order because she has to work the next day also.

00:01:28.640 --> 00:01:30.400
It's not just me that has to work the next day.

00:01:30.719 --> 00:01:34.560
She has to work the next day also, but she's the one that's still up.

00:01:36.560 --> 00:01:43.840
So later in the week, I read this quote, which sort of described what was going on there in our house that night.

00:01:44.159 --> 00:01:46.000
This was in Vanity Fair last month.

00:01:46.079 --> 00:01:48.640
So only a month ago, in the middle of coronavirus.

00:01:49.359 --> 00:01:51.200
This is by Nancy Joe Sales.

00:01:51.359 --> 00:01:55.439
She wrote an article that is entitled Dispatches from the Gender Gap.

00:01:55.599 --> 00:01:58.959
Weren't from Home Moms in the Time of Coronavirus.

00:01:59.519 --> 00:02:06.480
And women just, you can, moms, you feel free to say amen there in your homes as you hear me read this quote.

00:02:06.879 --> 00:02:16.719
In ordinary times, most working mothers who are married to men spend almost twice as much time on childcare and household chores.

00:02:17.280 --> 00:02:22.400
In the exigencies of the current crisis, which that word, that's a big word, I'd look it up.

00:02:22.479 --> 00:02:32.719
It means the urgency, in the urgency of the current crisis, have not seemed to have had a significant impact on the domestic gender gap.

00:02:33.599 --> 00:02:41.680
So what that means is that we're at home and husbands still aren't quite doing as much as moms are.

00:02:41.840 --> 00:02:47.360
Now that might not be true in your house, but that is a generically true thing based on research.

00:02:47.520 --> 00:02:49.599
I can't argue with it based on my house.

00:02:49.759 --> 00:02:51.199
I can't argue with it.

00:02:51.520 --> 00:02:57.680
The only thing I can do is learn to ask that question that took me so long to learn as a husband and a dad.

00:02:57.840 --> 00:02:58.479
Took me so long.

00:02:58.560 --> 00:03:00.319
It shouldn't have taken this long to learn this question.

00:03:00.400 --> 00:03:01.919
There's only one question, guys.

00:03:02.159 --> 00:03:03.120
How can I help?

00:03:03.280 --> 00:03:03.840
That's it.

00:03:04.000 --> 00:03:05.280
That's the question.

00:03:05.599 --> 00:03:08.080
How can I help?

00:03:08.639 --> 00:03:12.159
Now we don't have to be moms to know the feeling of being overloaded.

00:03:12.479 --> 00:03:14.319
We all know this feeling.

00:03:14.639 --> 00:03:32.400
Because maybe when the crisis hit and husbands or dads are just you're at home working, maybe you're single, and now you've got your house to deal with, maybe you have your kids to deal with, maybe you're missing your friends, and you also have work, you're trying to figure out how to work around or work at home, or you lost work, and that feels overloaded, right?

00:03:32.560 --> 00:03:38.800
It's the feeling like uh you have two or three things you need to get done, but you always forget one, you accomplish the other two.

00:03:38.960 --> 00:03:43.840
Or you have three things you need to remember, and you remember two and you forget the third thing, right?

00:03:44.000 --> 00:03:47.280
You go into Kroger for seven things, you come out with six.

00:03:48.479 --> 00:04:01.680
It's the imagery of you're carrying a load of laundry from the laundry room to your bedroom to fold it on your bed, but you're too lazy to get the laundry basket from your bedroom, and so you decide to take those clothes out of the dryer, right?

00:04:01.759 --> 00:04:04.560
And you're gonna bear hug those things down the hallway.

00:04:04.719 --> 00:04:06.080
You've tried it, haven't you?

00:04:06.240 --> 00:04:16.560
And you're making your way down the hallway, you think you're doing pretty good, and you're just leaving a trail of like socks and underwear and shorts all along the way because you're overloaded.

00:04:17.920 --> 00:04:19.680
You just have too much going on.

00:04:19.759 --> 00:04:28.800
And for us, maybe, maybe for you, this is practical, or maybe this is just the feeling of overload of cares or overload of concerns.

00:04:28.879 --> 00:04:31.839
And that brings us into this morning's text.

00:04:32.319 --> 00:04:33.839
What do we do with that?

00:04:34.639 --> 00:04:41.040
Now we're jumping away from Joshua just for this week for Mother's Day, and we're gonna look at Philippians chapter 4.

00:04:41.199 --> 00:04:44.319
In Philippians 4, we see Paul in verses 2 and 3.

00:04:44.560 --> 00:04:47.920
He is supporting and caring and esteeming two women.

00:04:48.079 --> 00:04:51.519
What a great way for us to begin our passage here this morning.

00:04:51.839 --> 00:04:55.519
And then he jumps into gospel implications for us.

00:04:56.000 --> 00:04:59.199
And this is coming out of the context of the entire letter.

00:04:59.360 --> 00:05:13.199
We've been doing some midweek Bible chat devotions on Philippians, and we've been learning there in those early chapters how Paul's just pouring out how we are beloved and we are saints and we are secure in that because of Jesus.

00:05:13.360 --> 00:05:19.759
And because of that, he can write in chapter four some implications of that of what it means for our lives.

00:05:21.199 --> 00:05:23.839
You gotta remember, Paul's in prison, he's writing this letter.

00:05:24.079 --> 00:05:24.959
He's stuck.

00:05:25.120 --> 00:05:27.600
We know the feeling of being stuck.

00:05:27.920 --> 00:05:32.639
Do you remember the first time you went to Kroger during shelter in place, right?

00:05:32.720 --> 00:05:40.079
Because you could only go to a couple different places legally during that time, and you decided to go to Kroger, and it just felt like incredible freedom.

00:05:40.240 --> 00:05:46.560
You were driving, this unbelievable feeling because we all knew the feeling of being stuck.

00:05:46.879 --> 00:05:59.279
And yet, Paul, in that stuckness, he's delighting in God's welcome and love and affection and acceptance of him.

00:06:00.560 --> 00:06:02.639
And that has implications.

00:06:03.360 --> 00:06:05.839
Verse 4, Philippians 4, 4.

00:06:06.000 --> 00:06:07.360
Rejoice in the Lord always.

00:06:07.519 --> 00:06:08.959
Again, I will say, rejoice.

00:06:09.120 --> 00:06:10.160
I'm gonna make three points.

00:06:10.240 --> 00:06:19.839
I'm gonna try to be pretty quick on them, and then allow Christy to come up and give sort of some implications of what this means for moms, and I think we'll also the rest of us will get something out of it.

00:06:19.920 --> 00:06:22.720
So, point number one, coming out of verse four, rejoice in the Lord always.

00:06:22.879 --> 00:06:23.920
Again, I will say rejoice.

00:06:24.000 --> 00:06:31.040
Point number one is this we are called into joy as we are already deemed God's beloved children.

00:06:31.360 --> 00:06:43.279
Knowing you are already God's redeemed child by his work and not your work automatically begins to create some joy in your heart because you've been relieved of so much.

00:06:44.399 --> 00:06:56.480
You've been relieved of having to dig your way out of a hole of guilt or shame or build up and produce enough righteousness to merit something in this world or before God.

00:06:56.560 --> 00:06:58.319
You've been relieved of that.

00:07:00.079 --> 00:07:01.120
Well, that's freeing.

00:07:01.199 --> 00:07:02.480
That starts to create some joy.

00:07:02.639 --> 00:07:07.920
That's why joy is the fruit of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit in us begins to create that.

00:07:08.399 --> 00:07:12.079
The word joy means to be glad and to thrive.

00:07:12.480 --> 00:07:17.839
That's not like prosperity gospel, I mean you're gonna be monetarily rich the rest of your life.

00:07:18.000 --> 00:07:22.319
This is about a wholeness of heart that we're growing in.

00:07:23.360 --> 00:07:34.240
Allowing the love of God to come into all of our guilt and our sin and our shame and our brokenness and move forward toward greater joy.

00:07:34.879 --> 00:07:36.399
Verse 5.

00:07:37.040 --> 00:07:43.360
Let your reasonableness, now that could all that can be defined as that word could be gentleness.

00:07:43.759 --> 00:07:51.600
Let your gentleness, it's a it's it means a reasonable attitude, a moderate amount of attitude.

00:07:51.759 --> 00:07:52.560
So be gentle.

00:07:52.720 --> 00:07:53.360
Be gentle.

00:07:53.519 --> 00:07:55.600
Let your gentleness be known to everyone.

00:07:55.759 --> 00:07:57.120
The Lord is at hand.

00:07:57.279 --> 00:08:03.680
So point number two is this we are loved perfectly as to be freed to love with a gentle spirit.

00:08:03.839 --> 00:08:09.439
We are loved perfectly as to be freed to love with a gentle spirit.

00:08:09.759 --> 00:08:17.279
I think I talked about this, I don't remember if it's in a sermon or one of those midweek devotional chats, but I can remember that first week of the coronavirus.

00:08:17.680 --> 00:08:18.000
Right?

00:08:18.160 --> 00:08:24.000
I mean, it was life, world, church, business, everything just going crazy, stuff shutting down.

00:08:24.160 --> 00:08:26.240
You're trying to figure out how you're gonna redo your life.

00:08:26.319 --> 00:08:32.240
And in the meantime, a lot of us are watching our 401ks just plummet.

00:08:32.960 --> 00:08:34.320
Absolutely plummet.

00:08:35.039 --> 00:08:39.840
Now, everybody's not addicted to that like I am, but man, I was pulling my phone out a couple times a day.

00:08:40.000 --> 00:08:41.679
I've just swipe to the right.

00:08:41.759 --> 00:08:46.000
You can read the headlines there on your iPhone, and then below that it has all the market, right?

00:08:46.080 --> 00:08:48.960
Like it says SP, it says, you know, all sorts of stuff.

00:08:49.039 --> 00:08:49.519
I don't know.

00:08:49.600 --> 00:08:52.720
I know SP and Dow, all the other ones, I have no idea what's going on.

00:08:52.799 --> 00:08:57.519
But I know that Dow number, and it was like at 29 in February, like 29,000.

00:08:57.600 --> 00:08:59.919
And I that just means a lot, is what that means.

00:09:00.080 --> 00:09:08.159
And it was looking good when those monthly statements were coming in, and everybody's getting excited, and you get excited every month, and look at this, and look how much we got, and we're gonna retire, blah, blah, blah.

00:09:08.399 --> 00:09:10.480
You know, and then it's at 19.

00:09:11.919 --> 00:09:14.480
I mean, it just plummets.

00:09:15.840 --> 00:09:22.720
And along that way down, I could feel myself sort of like every day, you're like, ah, man, lost more money, ah, lost more money, ah, lost more money.

00:09:22.799 --> 00:09:28.159
And you know, it's starting to bother you a little bit, it starts to bother me a little bit because I can use that to feel kind of secure.

00:09:28.960 --> 00:09:30.799
And something happened one day.

00:09:30.879 --> 00:09:41.759
I was walking from the church back home, and when it went under 20, and something in me just broke, like there was a death, and it was wonderful.

00:09:42.000 --> 00:09:43.519
Like it was a good death.

00:09:43.759 --> 00:09:49.279
Because what it was, it was me coming to a point of like, oh yeah, like that doesn't work.

00:09:50.080 --> 00:09:52.720
This will always, this will always fluctuate.

00:09:52.960 --> 00:09:55.279
This will always go up and come down.

00:09:56.159 --> 00:10:02.399
Like, I can't rely on that to define me, to define my value or my importance.

00:10:04.320 --> 00:10:08.240
Even my little moderate amount of savings, I can't use it.

00:10:09.039 --> 00:10:10.000
It won't work.

00:10:10.159 --> 00:10:15.039
And that death, that wonderful death, it was just me saying, you know, like this is out of my control.

00:10:15.519 --> 00:10:19.679
What freedom that is, and in that death, we discover something.

00:10:19.840 --> 00:10:23.519
Every time we have a death like that, we discover something, we're still loved.

00:10:24.320 --> 00:10:30.879
God's love is still there, we're still loved, we are still a person, and in his eyes, we are still beloved.

00:10:31.200 --> 00:10:42.639
Whether that death is out of our own failure or that death is out of the failure of the world, we still discover God is still stable and secure, and he's still loving us in that moment.

00:10:42.720 --> 00:10:44.080
So there's a death.

00:10:44.720 --> 00:10:48.639
But in that death, we're always regenerated in new life.

00:10:49.840 --> 00:10:53.919
And there's joy there, and out of that comes this gentleness.

00:10:56.480 --> 00:10:56.879
Right?

00:10:57.200 --> 00:10:58.320
This is how it all connects.

00:10:58.480 --> 00:11:02.480
As we know our belovedness, we don't have to use people anymore.

00:11:03.120 --> 00:11:14.639
See, when you come in touch with that, however you get to that death of self, however you come to that, gentleness is a fruit of the spirit that comes out of that death of the self, that old Adam.

00:11:15.279 --> 00:11:16.960
And that new self.

00:11:17.679 --> 00:11:25.679
That new self that is born again in Jesus, that is where the Holy Spirit begins to birth in us this fruit of the Spirit.

00:11:25.840 --> 00:11:28.639
Joy and now gentleness in this passage.

00:11:29.519 --> 00:11:31.440
We don't have to use people anymore.

00:11:31.600 --> 00:11:33.200
We don't have to use money anymore.

00:11:33.440 --> 00:11:39.200
But when it comes to loving people with gentleness, we don't ultimately need them to approve of us.

00:11:39.360 --> 00:11:43.279
They don't have to agree with us, they can hold a different opinion, and it's okay.

00:11:43.440 --> 00:11:46.799
We can still be vulnerable before them and love them.

00:11:47.600 --> 00:11:49.440
Last point, and then Christi will come up.

00:11:49.519 --> 00:11:57.840
Verse six Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God.

00:11:58.080 --> 00:12:07.279
Point number three is this we are called to cultivate a slow, surrendering heart as to no fierce peace.

00:12:08.639 --> 00:12:12.000
When I was little, I'd get the service merchandise catalog.

00:12:12.159 --> 00:12:14.399
I don't know if you remember the store, I don't even know if they're still around.

00:12:14.480 --> 00:12:16.399
I'd get the catalog, I'd circle everything I wanted.

00:12:16.480 --> 00:12:21.919
I'd make a list, and then at Christmas time, go to Gwynette Place Mall, and I would give my list to Santa Claus, right?

00:12:22.080 --> 00:12:28.799
Well, prayer is like the handing over that list, but it's nothing like actually getting everything off that list.

00:12:29.360 --> 00:12:34.240
What prayer is, is the surrendering of the request to God.

00:12:35.759 --> 00:12:39.679
We need to surrender everybody we want to fix.

00:12:40.080 --> 00:12:43.919
We need to surrender the wounds that still define us.

00:12:44.240 --> 00:12:47.519
We need to surrender the circumstances we try to control.

00:12:47.679 --> 00:12:49.840
This is what we're doing in prayer.

00:12:50.960 --> 00:12:54.960
And prayer is not transaction, it is relationship.

00:12:57.679 --> 00:13:04.240
And this passage leads us toward a slow, surrendered, grateful heart.

00:13:04.720 --> 00:13:10.000
If the gospel is not the great rescue and definition of our hearts, we'll always look for something else.

00:13:10.879 --> 00:13:17.759
That builds pressure, builds a fast heart, not a slow heart, builds a busy heart, not a slow heart.

00:13:18.240 --> 00:13:21.759
So it's always first about a slow heart.

00:13:22.240 --> 00:13:24.639
A heart that is at peace.

00:13:24.879 --> 00:13:34.639
Now, some of us have experienced great peace, right, in the last few weeks, last six weeks, because your life has become so slow, but that has been forced.

00:13:34.960 --> 00:13:36.559
That has been forced upon you.

00:13:36.720 --> 00:13:41.919
The greater lesson in this is not like, oh, I'm gonna come out of this, I'm gonna work so hard to make a slow life.

00:13:42.159 --> 00:13:46.240
The greater lesson in this is what you've experienced in that slowness.

00:13:46.320 --> 00:13:47.919
It's about a slow heart.

00:13:48.559 --> 00:13:52.399
So as our lives speed back up, it's about a slow heart.

00:13:52.559 --> 00:14:16.879
That our hearts can be slowed down as we're surrendering to him these concerns, and we can have a peace that guards our hearts, and then practices of slowness will aid us, and practices of slowness will also be a fruit of a heart that is at peace in Jesus because he is our peace.

00:14:17.679 --> 00:14:20.879
Christy's gonna come up and share some implications for us.

00:14:22.240 --> 00:14:25.440
I'm gonna jump back into that first point.

00:14:26.000 --> 00:14:43.840
And just as we think about being called into joy, I can't help but in motherhood think about the witching hour, which may be the time that all of us know there is no joy possible to be found in the witching hour, which for those of you that don't know is five o'clock every day.

00:14:44.080 --> 00:14:49.120
Our little children turn into things we've never seen before.

00:14:49.360 --> 00:14:52.879
Um, amazingly, everyone is hungry at the same time.

00:14:53.039 --> 00:14:55.519
There's endless places you're supposed to go.

00:14:55.679 --> 00:14:58.080
You yourself are worn out and tired.

00:14:58.240 --> 00:15:05.840
And during this witching hour is where I've found I need joy, and I cannot find it within myself.

00:15:06.080 --> 00:15:22.639
And so I've gotten in a routine of I keep a little card in front of the sink and also in my windshield, just as a reminder of the fact that this joy that I know that I'm craving and needing is something outside of myself.

00:15:22.799 --> 00:15:30.000
And going back to Russ's point, we're called into joy as we are already deemed God's beloved children.

00:15:30.320 --> 00:15:33.919
And joy is something that we do receive from God.

00:15:34.080 --> 00:15:43.519
It is not something we conjure up ourselves, but as God anchors us in his love, we then receive that great joy.

00:15:43.679 --> 00:16:07.120
And that's no matter what we've done that day, what we've the bad attitudes we've had towards ourselves, towards our children, towards our spouse, um, or what we've left undone, the dishes or the task or whatever, God freely gives us joy in those moments, in our worst selves, as we rest with our security in Him.

00:16:07.440 --> 00:16:12.960
One of my favorite things about God is that in that witching hour, he is always available.

00:16:13.200 --> 00:16:22.559
So when I am at my worst or when I feel completely depleted, he is fully available to us, even in the witching hour.

00:16:22.799 --> 00:16:32.399
And as we think about being loved perfectly, reading that point, I couldn't help but I feel like as a woman, I hear the word perfect and I immediately cringe.

00:16:32.480 --> 00:16:38.799
I don't want to have anything to do with that, largely because I feel like it has been um placed on me.

00:16:38.879 --> 00:16:40.320
It feels like a demand.

00:16:40.559 --> 00:16:45.840
But when we think about God's perfect love for us, it changes things up.

00:16:46.159 --> 00:16:56.639
But so oftentimes when women hear the word perfection, we can't help but think of all the demands that puts on us for our body, our career, our family, our home.

00:16:57.279 --> 00:17:04.400
But there does feel like such rest to think of this radical, perfect love that's been poured out on us.

00:17:04.640 --> 00:17:07.599
And it's something obviously that's not of us.

00:17:08.079 --> 00:17:18.480
And oftentimes when I get caught up in this striving for perfection, it does feel like my shadow self or um just left to my flesh.

00:17:18.720 --> 00:17:29.279
But even when my shadow self is hanging out all over the place, there is a loving freedom still in my worst self.

00:17:29.440 --> 00:17:38.880
There is a loving freedom that is able to rest in being fully known in that shadow self and still fully loved.

00:17:39.440 --> 00:17:41.359
And that alone frees me.

00:17:41.599 --> 00:17:56.559
And I've heard it said before that motherhood is a series of small deaths, and it's a death emotionally, it's a death for to yourself, it's a death to your plan, to your will.

00:17:57.119 --> 00:17:59.359
But I found that so true.

00:17:59.519 --> 00:18:23.519
Uh, when I had my first daughter, we Russ and I were double income, no kids, dinks, as you would say, and we were so excited to have this child in our fifth year of marriage, and here she comes, and she's beautiful and healthy, and I did not realize all that I was gonna have to give up for this new thing to enter in.

00:18:23.920 --> 00:18:40.079
And it was the beginning of me learning how to die more quickly to myself, and in that um, I began to just learn how there is this mysterious love that God has for us.

00:18:40.240 --> 00:18:44.640
That I saw this anger rise up in me that I never even knew existed.

00:18:44.960 --> 00:19:00.480
And amidst that I was able to escape to a love not of any human being, but of God's great love and mysterious love for me in the middle of feeling like I was my worst self.

00:19:01.759 --> 00:19:12.559
But his perfect mysterious love, this love that um just began to almost woo me in as I saw kind of the worst parts of myself.

00:19:13.039 --> 00:19:22.960
This mysterious love became more than enough, and it became more than enough for my miscommunications and my selfishness.

00:19:23.119 --> 00:19:40.400
And at the same time, this mysterious love, this radical love that we've been talking about is also what woos us into this third point about how we are called to cultivate a slow, surrendering heart as to no fierce peace.

00:19:40.640 --> 00:19:49.039
And for me, that mysterious love of God is what woos me into this great peace that He has promised us.

00:19:49.200 --> 00:19:53.039
And apart from Him, I can't have that peace or create that peace.

00:19:53.119 --> 00:19:55.200
It's completely a receiving.

00:19:55.440 --> 00:20:12.640
But I think for me, um, in all of this pandemic, the slowness has revealed my busy heart and my restlessness that I was carrying and maintaining and almost couldn't even hear due to the busyness around me.

00:20:12.880 --> 00:20:19.279
And so it's it's hard to process something that's convicting amidst the busyness.

00:20:19.599 --> 00:20:39.200
But as everything shut down and my house began to get quiet, well, there's a few moments of quiet, um, there was time to reflect and confess and repent about the busyness that I and the restlessness that I had been feeling in my heart, and I was able to become aware of that.

00:20:39.839 --> 00:21:03.599
And I have loved finding those quiet moments where um all the things that I use to compensate for my restlessness, instead of those spilling out on everybody within my home, the slowness has created a place where I can process those things that I use to compensate.

00:21:04.319 --> 00:21:14.160
It has created a place where I can process those amidst the love of the Father and not just immediately having to pour them out on all of the people in my home.

00:21:14.400 --> 00:21:17.039
And so I have really enjoyed being able to do that.

00:21:17.359 --> 00:21:26.640
Part of the mystery of this great love that he's given us is these three pieces that these three points have had, which I really love.

00:21:26.720 --> 00:21:35.200
And a lot of times when I'm praying for the girls at night, I talk about a short term would be a short phrase would be LPJ, but love, peace, and joy.

00:21:35.279 --> 00:21:36.640
And these three points are that.

00:21:36.720 --> 00:21:44.559
And a lot of times at night I'll pray, you know, that they would find their love in Jesus, that they would find their joy in Jesus, and they would find their peace in him.

00:21:44.960 --> 00:21:52.319
And those three things are our three points, and it's also where we find those things are in Jesus.

00:21:52.480 --> 00:21:59.440
And it's not something we can conjure up or create or make a craft for it to happen.

00:21:59.599 --> 00:22:06.559
It's something that truly we are dependent on his great lavish love for us in order to have.

00:22:06.799 --> 00:22:18.880
And so, my prayer for you today, moms, is that you may find your love in Jesus and that you could find your joy in him and your peace in him, for he is the source of radical love for you.

00:22:19.359 --> 00:22:20.480
So I'm gonna pray.

00:22:21.039 --> 00:22:23.119
Dear God, we thank you for this time.

00:22:23.279 --> 00:22:27.599
I thank you for mothers, we thank you for how our moms love us.

00:22:28.319 --> 00:22:30.400
And nobody loves you like your mom.

00:22:30.880 --> 00:22:39.279
And there is a great love that you have gifted moms to be able to love their people, whether they're two or whether they're 62.

00:22:39.759 --> 00:22:50.799
And would you and your kindness continue to open up our hearts in greater ways to trust in you and to rest in this great radical love that you have given us.

00:22:51.039 --> 00:22:52.640
In Jesus' name I pray.

00:22:52.960 --> 00:22:53.599
Amen.
