couple of weeks of us exploring who is the Holy Spirit, what does the Holy Spirit do, and what does it look like for us to be filled with the Holy Spirit, empowered by the Holy Spirit, really surrender to the Holy Spirit. 00:00:34.799 --> 00:00:43.439 So in these next two weeks, we're going to look at at least two roles of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and in the life of the body, we have people who know what the Holy Spirit does and then release that to the church so we can walk in it. 00:01:52.879 --> 00:02:01.200 So what I got from what you wrote this idea that um we inner work of the Holy Spirit in us, forming us into the image of Jesus as manifesting the fruit of the Spirit through us from Galatians 5: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control. 00:02:22.719 --> 00:02:35.280 And so what the world sees when we are manifesting the fruit of the spirit from inner work is people that go around and think and love and act 00:04:48.160 So Robert Mulhalland, um, in one of in a book called Invitation to a Journey, he describes um spiritual formation as the process of being formed into the image of Christ for the sake of book, the uh initial history of the vineyard, and it was called the quest for the radical middle, which means we take the best of evangelicalism, that's kind of a dangerous word these days, I know, but we're it because we believe that the gospel is needed to transform people in the world, and the word of God is powerful, comes straight from God through men, and the spirit, that all the spiritual work of the Holy Spirit to make us like Jesus, or we talk about the empowering work of the Holy Spirit to release gifts, remember this the source and the means and the goal of all of this is love. power where you carry the presence of God into the world, that you see with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, for both of those, the source of those is love, the means of those is love, and the goal of me, I have had power encounters, I have fasted, I have prayed, I've done a lot of things like that, but nothing, those are all good, living in community, but nothing has put me in the place where God scripture, the more I look at him in prayer and in worship in my closet, that's figurative, for you it might be literal, in my closet without anyone else. 00:21:39.039 --> 00:21:43.759 The more I do scripture, and you got illumination all over the place, and you feel so close to Jesus in prayer, and then you walk out the door, and then the world smacks you. 00:22:01.039 --> 00:22:08.079 But from that place of intimacy, we can be changed in the world in spite of the stuff that comes against us. 00:22:11.039 --> 00:22:22.400 This daily remaining, remaining in Christ and letting his words remain
