Should a Christian seek the guidance of mediums or psychics? In this episode we dig into what Scripture says about spiritual practices, discernment, and where believers should — and shouldn't — turn for guidance.
So we we have familiar spirits observing us since we are born. Every human being on this earth is that I keep hearing a demon. It's a demon. So a familiar spirit. Why are you doing that? So they become familiar, they become familiar with you and your family, and they usually pass down in families through generations. So they observe you. So they observe you extremely close. So as we said before, they can't read your mind and they can't read your heart. Only God can do that. But so familiar spirits can read our actions and they hear what we say. Now, let's say they see you throughout your life, and one day you go to a psychic, and I'm I'm Jessica or myself, you know, like we did the work we did, we'll be sitting there. So we see this spirit impersonating a loved one of the person sitting there. That spirit observed that person, so that spirit will tell me, tell her when she was five years old, she went with her grandmother to the beach because they observed you.
SPEAKER_02These angels that he corrupted that was thrown out of heaven are the demons that roam the earth today. They're the demons that whisper in the ears of your favorite psychic. When you go get your palm red, and these demons that have been watching you since you were young, and so they whisper in the ear of the psychic. They tell you your age and the last boyfriend you had and what city you were born in, because they've been watching you. And then they start to prophet lie and tell you about your future and lead you away from the Lord Jesus Christ. And because we're not read, because you love sermons, but you don't read, you don't know that that stuff is demonic. You little tapicards, you little standings, you little twistos, you little readings, all that stuff.
SPEAKER_00Thanking you for uh tuning in one more again, uh, giving our praises under God for giving us another opportunity to come before you, whether it be in your car, your phone, in your living room, wherever you are listening to us right now. Uh, we do appreciate you uh tuning in. The best way to support us always is to like, share, and subscribe. And uh we are going to have an interesting and fun conversation today, uh talking about those demons. Talking about the demons, as um we uh as you saw in the previous clip, they were talking about these familiar spirits, man, that follow that actually follow you, and um that these so-called psychics or mediums um actually tap into to go ahead and get you to gain your trust by telling you things that only this particular person in your life would be uh able to relate to you or uh know of about you. But the thing is, uh what we understand as believers, and uh well, if you're not a believer yet and you're listening to this, it's what we uh to explain to you. There is no crossing back and forth uh once you leave here, right? There's no, uh I know we are um very uh uh um engulfed or enraptured by different things, the different topics of like a realm where we can communicate with those that have uh gone before us. And um it but this isn't uh the Black Panther movies. There's no there's no ancestral plane uh where we can go and bury ourselves and go and talk to the uh talk to the um, what do you call it, the the saints of old or our forefathers, etc. That's just not what we believe. Now, someone can be what the idea and the thought process of the familiar spirits is that there are these are demonic forces, these are demonic spirits that are watching you and that have been watching you for years. They know, they know the little things about you and the things that that uh that that you like and the things that how you're how you're driven. Um they're not um they're not omnipresent, they're not omnipotent, they they can't predict your heart or they can't read your heart. They don't know your heart. That only God does, Christ does. But they can watch you, they can watch the habits. Anybody anybody that can, you know, has been your lifelong friend, so to speak, they know things about you, they've seen things, they've seen, they've seen events, they've witnessed things that you you've hold you've held dear. They know how close that relationship was between that person, between you and the loved one that has gone on. And so what happens is there's this there's a uh system or a sense of manipulation that they play with and play on uh to get you uh to believe that you are actually communicating with your uh loved one that has gone on and has transitioned. Um so therefore it's uh it's very dangerous to engage in these um seances and tarot cards and astrologies and the things of this nature that tries to tell you and predict your life. Now, of course, there's gonna be some uh people that disagree with me. And there might be even some that disagree with me that are believers. That's fine. You can disagree with me all you want. That's you know, uh, I'm not here to uh twist your arm to believe anything, but what I do know from scripture and what does make sense from scripture, and even listening to this uh the man that was the first clip that we played for you before uh coming on, he said that because he used to practice witchcraft. If you um you can follow him or did they have a podcast, him and the uh the young lady that he was speaking with, and they're both former uh witches and uh warlock. I guess he was a warlock, you know, they practice witchcraft. And so he's literally telling you that, yes, when we were practicing, we would see and see these spirits, and they were telling us what the person that we were, you know, giving a psychic reading to, or what whatever uh have you, uh the relationship or specific things, and they're telling us to tell them what to, you know, they're telling us what to say to them to convince that person that is real. And with doing so, you can actually start seeking and begin seeking and trusting more in a medium or a psychic than you do your own God, right? So that is the danger, and that's why uh in Leviticus 1931, he specifically said, do not turn to mediums or spiritists, do not seek them out, and you and you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God. So when you think about being defiled by something is is being tarnished, is being made unclean. And so when that that is their whole purpose, and that is their whole goal, is to to have that to happen, right? So we have to we have to be conscious and why God said that this was not something that you should be doing, and uh, or these people you should not be communicating with. He goes on later to say um in the uh next chapter in Leviticus that he'll set, uh I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them. Okay, so he God is literally telling us that if you start to engage in them and you start to trust in these mediums and these and these uh witches and these uh deings or people that practice dark magic and relying on what they say and to guide your steps, he literally said, he's like, I'm I'm gonna set, I'm I'm gonna become your enemy, is what God is is telling you, right? Because that is that is demonic. That is what the Bible says. Now I know people that, good people, well, if you can call good, good, whatnot, but I know people that I get along with, right? They're they're okay. They're all right with me. I see them, I hug them, I love them, you know, love them and everything else, but they practice this stuff. They believe in it, and they don't believe that there's anything wrong with it. And so it's not that the person that's operating in this is the face of evil, but what they're dealing with is definitely evil. Anything that's opposite of God is demonic. If you're speaking to any spirit that's opposite of the Holy Spirit, Christ, or God is demonic. If God didn't send them, it's demonic. It's not if it's not an angel that was sent by him, if it's not the Holy Spirit that's speaking within you, if it was not Jesus Christ that you are praying to, finding and seeking your way and to order your steps, it's demonic. That's that's what we believe, that's what it is. You can people will argue that we are excluding ourselves, or we're we're not uh we're we're being closed-minded when we operate in this way, or uh when we say that you know that's that stuff isn't safe, that's you know, it's that's not something that you should uh be a part of. But people want people seem to want a world without boundaries, right? But they want this world without boundaries, but no punishment or no consequence to operating without boundaries. There's consequences to these actions. That's why the boundaries are there, that's why God set them there. So it baffles my mind. I was um I was reading earlier today on threads, right? Um somebody that had an issue with God, if God if uh you gotta get to if you have to get to heaven by accepting him, then it's not unconditional love. And people will mistake unconditional love with conditional um operations or circumstances or relationships to have a relationship. I love everybody. I try I I believe that I do. I I just for just the simple fact that you are a a uh creation by God, of God, um, you're a human being, I believe that I I have to have the capacity and the compassion to love you, right? That does not mean that you're gonna stay in my house because I don't have a relationship with you. Okay? So if so, for example, if I could just break this down in the in the plainest terms possible. If you think about your home and I come to your home, I'm a stranger. You don't know me, you have no relationship with me at all. I I just I show up at your doorstep um after I've been out all night or all my life, we 40, 50 years in, and I say, yo, um you might not know me, but I know you. I I know you and I like your house. I want to be in your house. I want to stay with you for the rest of my life. You gonna you gonna let that happen? I know some people that know me that won't even let that happen, right? So you get you you're acting as if though unconditional love means that we don't, that God cannot have standards for a relationship with him. And he's basically saying if you don't have a relationship with me, then you are you then you choose not to be with me for all eternity. That's your choice, not mine. We people want to make God seem like he's evil for saying that you're gonna go to hell, right? What we call hell, uh, because you did not make the choice to choose him. All he said is choose me and choose the way that I'm telling you to go, and we're good. But you're saying that I don't want to choose you, but I want all the benefits of you. That's and if you don't give me those benefits of you after I have chosen not to choose you, then you're the bad person. You're the bad entity in this in this scenario or in this relationship. That is toxic. That is toxic narcissistic behavior that we are trying to project on God Himself, right? We want to dwell in the house of the Lord forever, but we don't want to have a relationship with you. No, we don't want to listen to you, we don't want to have boundaries, we want to have our own choices. Now he says, fine, I give you free will. You can choose and do whatever it is that you want to do. That is your choice. Because true love is not a forced love, right? True love is a willing love. I'm willing, I I want to have this relationship with you. He's saying, regardless of what you choose, I am willing. That's unconditional. I love you no matter what. But if you choose not my ways, if you choose not to listen to me, if you choose to try to come in or get into heaven any other way than the way that I tell you, then no, you're lost. And where you're going, I can't be. It's apart from me. All hell is is a place where God is not. Where there where with him there's light, where it's going is darkness. Where there's love, there's nothing but hatred. What is good is evil. That's it. And so you're just choosing to go that other way. That's what you're rocking at. You can't blame him for that. That's like somebody, that's like somebody and we and the oh man, the good guys love to love to to use this. We we wanna love you, girl. We love you. We wanna be with you forever. We wanna marry you, we wanna make a good honest woman out of you. But you choose to reject the good guy, right? You choose and we and the good guys warning you look, man, I know how to love you, they don't. I want to love you, I desire you, I I I see you as valuable, they don't. But you choose not to be with that person that says that he loves you, or she she loves you, and you choose to go on with the the ones that they warned you about that do not value you, that do not appreciate you, that will use you, that will abuse you, that will that will ultimately destroy you. And when you do that, you say that that person is the bad person because now you can't get back with him or her. That's that's crazy, right? But how come that's that sounds crazy when it comes into the physical realm that we're in right now, but that's that's that's not too far fetched for us to put on God. I I I don't I don't I don't get our thinking sometimes. And I r I really don't. We can we can say plenty of things um you know about Christian the church and um you know it being it being some type of way that you don't agree with or they don't or the church doesn't operate how you want it to operate or church folk, you know, as we call them, and how they how they can act towards you. And I get it. I get all of it. But some of the the ways that we we some of our beliefs and how we feel that life should go is is just absolutely just stupid. If I can just be honest with you, if I can be transparent in how I'm thinking, right? And so leading into stupid thoughts or thoughts that I that I disagree with, this is a clip of uh Miss Tamar Braxton that we're gonna we're gonna play for you, right? Now she's um she's on this uh podcast, she's doing this interview, and she is speaking on how uh her views as a Christian um and what she does and what she practices, which obviously, of course, le uh lends to the the teaching and what we're discussing today. So just check this out for me real quick. Read the Bible anymore.
SPEAKER_04Wait a while have questioned you because you you communicate with mediums or psychics and you know, and you know the things. Why can we not have a connection?
SPEAKER_03I don't know, but I call myself a liberal Christian. Tell me what that means. That just means that it's not um anything that I am stuck to. You know what I mean? Like I believe in God, I believe in Jesus, I believe he died for my sins. I I don't read the Bible anymore. Wait a minute. Like the Bible is, no, I no, I'm just saying it's a guideline. So I don't have to go and you know just read the Bible. I go to God, I go to the Bible for stories. I go to the Bible for um if I want to like read the Bible.
SPEAKER_00All right. So now you can clearly see that uh Sister Tamar here says that she is a liberal Christian. I have no idea what that is. Uh that's what she says she calls herself. But she also says she has stopped reading the Bible. She there's nothing in it for her to teach her or to guide her right now. But she seeks out psychics and mediums to I guess to confer with or to um to be ministered to or be ministered by. These are the things that what what God was just warned us about. Like listen, you're gonna you're gonna you're prostituting yourself by following them. And he will set your his face against you. I don't know exactly what the the being a liberal Christian is, I guess maybe being open or being a Christian without boundaries, because she said that she believes in Christ. She believes in Jesus, she believes that he died and everything like that, but how can you believe and you don't obey? How can you believe and you just say, okay, that teaching isn't for me, though? And you can say, well, you know, you believe that God is bigger than the Bible because it was written by man and all this, there's so many arguments against watch, uh, you know, uh abiding by what the Bible says. But the Bible historically is one of the most, now this is by historians, and these are these are by theologians, not just theologians, but atheist historians alike. It is one of the most uh sacred, organized, kept, um, you know, historically accurate books that we have of all the of the historic um literature that we uh go off of. We will trust man or trust human beings with everything else that we believe as far as what history tells us, whether it's the writings on the walls or ancient documents found, but we want to say that the Bible is not authentic because it was written by man. All right. Breathed by God is the word of God. When we examine the scriptures, there's nothing in the scriptures that will that shows it to be any different. You can make an argument that things, that words could be misspelled, misplaced, mistranslated, fine. But the overall general foundation of the Bible historically is accurate and has been proven and has been showing itself to be authentic and real over and over and over again. If the Bible was not so, then it would have it would have lost its credibility a long, long, long time ago. But through all the trials, through all the attacks, through all the persecution, through everything that we put the Bible through, that man or this world has put the Bible through, it's still showing up as valid till this day. But we'll say, uh, I don't wanna, I don't wanna go that route. I don't want to adhere to that. I wanna look, I wanna listen to this person because they think, they, they think a different way, or they think more so outside, quote unquote, outside of the box, or I'm more of a spiritual person than a than a person that believes in God. And we, you know, the common question is, okay, what spirits are you talking to? When somebody tells me that they're more spiritual than they are religious, I I get it because I'm not a religious person. I don't, I don't uh ascribe to the um the traditions and, you know, the rules or regulations of a religion, but Christianity is a religion that in its purest form is ordained and authored by God. So when you take all when minus all the politics that people try to add into it and all of the the um, I guess the solicitation, the marketing and all of these other things, all the worldliness that they try to put into Christianity. Um the way that they try to use Christianity, you get you have to take that away because that is not of God. That's not how God ordained it. And when you look at Christianity the way that God has ordained it, it is it is the purest form of love. It speaks on love, it speaks on even loving your enemies, it speaks on uh all of the different things that are happening right now that are being warned of the evil person that's in leadership, right? And his followers. Right it warns about uh, you know, talking to spirits as we're discussing right now. There are familiar spirits. In the Bible, they they do refer to them as familiar spirits or speaking to familiar spirits. You have to question, like, why would you honestly, why do you think, why would you inquire of the dead on behalf of the living? Right? Why would you why would I seek the instruction? Why would I seek the the um the advice of the dead to govern the the life of the living, right? And then to be honest with you, and I might hurt some people's feelings, but the the dead that you're inquiring of may not have been all that wise while they were here on earth. So I'm gonna seek after so seek the advice of someone that was deeply flawed and troubled while they were even here to help guide me. And then if you're just going and you're just talking to random spirits to lead you, like you never know, you don't know what you're tapping into. And so therefore, they gain your trust with the familiar familiarity and lead you away from God. Samar says she does not listen or read the Bible at all anymore. That's just not what she does. But she listens to mediums and psychics because she feels, or because she says or she identifies herself as a liberal Christian. This is one of the things where I say that not everybody needs to be in front of the microphone. They're not, it just shouldn't. It's dangerous. But you have uh you have people that are that try to minister through mess, right? You have people that um they have a lot within them that is not of God, but they will try to talk godly. And they operate and they they operate foolishly thinking that the stuff that they don't have to clean anything up within themselves, that they're fine, that they're good, and they're good to go forth, but it's not and it's not like it's even a struggle, like they're struggling with the stuff. They they have accepted that this is just who I am, this is my stuff. I'm well, I'm okay. And they're not. They're not. There's a lot, there are a lot of things that it's there's a lot of stuff that people hide, even people that are in the pulpit right now, that they're preaching and ministering and and and evangelizing and what have you, and they are so messed up inside. And it's only a matter of time while you're ministering, and you have this mess, that the mess that's within you ends up coming out while you're ministering, right? That the mess that you have comes out in your ministry. That's why you have people that are so quote unquote godly and love the Lord so much, but cuss you out in a heartbeat. That's why you have so many people that uh claim to love the Lord but will turn to wickedness and evil to guide their lives. That's why you have so many people that will say that they are on their way to heaven, but doing everything that will bust hell wide open. That is why you have so many people that will talk and claim that you are the worst thing to walk this earth, that you are wrong in everything that you do, but have so much mess hidden up in their closet that they don't even have room to operate themselves. That is why you have so much confusion going on in the church right now. It's because there are people that want to call themselves ministering to folks that are completely messed up inside. And they haven't dealt with the stuff that is within them. And some of them feel that whatever it is that is within them is all right with God. And they're leading people astray, and they're leading people to a life uh that is contrary to what the word of God speaks. I encourage everybody to have a relationship with God for themselves. Don't just depend on myself or other pastors to bring you the word or to or to tell you how to be. Speak with God, have a personal, intimate relationship, read his word for yourself. We're not gonna get it all right. Nobody knows all the answers. We don't. That's life. Accept it, deal with it. It is what it is. You can call me out on it all day long. Hey, you don't know this, you don't know that. Okay, I don't know everything, but what I do know is that Christ said that I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one goes into the Father but by me. There's one way. That's what I know. I believe in him. I trust him. I believe he was born, I believe he died, I believe he rose again. And this is not just because I was brought up in the church. This isn't just because I'm being emotional. There's scientific and historical evidence of him walking the earth and of him being raised. There are accounts from people that don't even believe in him, that that is historically recorded in his in history books that speak of him. So we have corroborating evidence. We have historical evidence, we have scientific evidence. I'm not just speaking off of emotion when I say that I believe in Jesus Christ. I wouldn't be doing this, I wouldn't be sitting up here talking to you and spending time and money to speak to you and minister to you if I didn't truly believe. And I honestly wouldn't do it if I didn't love you. Matthew 28, 19. Jesus petitioned all of his uh disciples to go out into all of the world, making disciples of every nation, in every nation, of all people. Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is not easy. That's why we are not called to walk this road alone, but we are called to walk this road together. So as we lean on each other and we depend on each other, let's talk while we travel. Until the next time, God bless you. I speak the peace of God upon you. And we look forward to speaking with you again the next time we gather around the disciples' desk.
