SPEAKER_00

Intro. What are we doing here? Um yeah, so intro. Uh hey, we are what would sisters say? No. Let's try again.

SPEAKER_03

Um maybe no, um, maybe you introduce yourself. I introduce yourself, and then we say um this is this is what would sisters say. Okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Okay. So here we go. Episode one. What are we doing?

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Uh I'm Shelby.

SPEAKER_03

I'm Giovanna.

SPEAKER_00

And this is a good one. This is what would sisters say. This is what would sisters say.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

The beginnings of something new. Yes. Something we've talked about for a long time.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's been in conversation. We tried it, um, and it was on ice for a while.

SPEAKER_00

And it's not as easy as people think, oh, you just hit the camera and record.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, there was a lot of planning and preparation, and a lot that went into bringing this whole thing to life. We're here now. We're here. I'm so excited. I'm proud of us. I'm I'm proud of this too. Like for us to get to this point, and I'm I'm really proud of us. I love you. I love you too. And I'm excited for this journey and to see where it takes us. And I know that it's going to be like a ride, but I'm I'm ready for the fucking roller coaster. Yeah, I'm ready for it. So if my wig starts to leave before I do, just let me know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'll let you know. Okay. Alright. So why are we here?

SPEAKER_03

Um, why are we here? Yeah. Why why are what are we doing?

SPEAKER_00

What why are we here doing this?

SPEAKER_03

So I would say, so why we're here is I think that we um we want to create a sense of like community, yeah, and something that we found within each other, and I think we want to share that with people.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, a sisterhood, you know, just somebody to explore the world with.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

What is it we're doing? We're trying to build businesses, we're chasing our dreams, we're navigating love, and just trying to be the best women that we can be. That's uh trying to be the dream girl in my head.

SPEAKER_03

The dream girl. Because we are dream girls. We make it happy.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, are we allowed to do that? I think you can't cut us. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

We're we'll quickly figure it out. YouTube will be like, you can or cannot do that. Take your video down. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know if not. I don't think we sounded like Beyonce and French, and so I think I think we're fine.

SPEAKER_00

I think you carried the team on that one. I wasn't singing with you.

SPEAKER_03

I was either just so I sounded like the harmony.

SPEAKER_00

You were everything, everything always. All right. Um, so I guess maybe we should share with them how we met.

SPEAKER_03

I think that'd be important. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But like maybe they would look at us and be like, they're sisters.

SPEAKER_03

I think people would like automatically think that we're related. Yeah. As soon as we step out the house, especially this.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Oh no. Yeah, they were like twins. Oh my!

SPEAKER_03

Um, so I met Shelby. Um, I found her on Instagram. I was looking for creatives, I was looking for, um, I was very heavy into my music at the time. And I wanted to build a team of people that was creative, and I found this dope ass girl on the fucking internet, and I thought she was absolutely sickening. And so I was like, she could make me sickening. So that's how that came about. And she she made me sickening. I remember my first music video that we did, and we were just getting to know each other, and it was, you know, it took time for us to blossom into what this is now.

SPEAKER_00

But um during I remember when you reached out to me for styling and I sent you some stuff, you're like, that's pedestrian. I was like, she hates me. I just thought she was going to New York for a trip. I didn't know that you were looking to like actually build um a brand around your artistry, and you wanted it to be show stopping at all times. Yes. It wasn't just about being a cute girl in New York, it was about being a big eye-catching artist in New York and everywhere you step foot.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and I think that once you understood that, that's when the magic started happening. Like when you realized that, like, I I saw a bigger picture than just like no offense to some girls, but what what the the base, and I'm not saying I'm the most extraordinary thing out there. Um, but you know, like I would say, like, I we did some dope videos and they were cool, and we did some dope like concepts and looks, and we worked with some really dope ass people.

SPEAKER_00

Like so we made that whole well chess piece for the the chess piece and the feather skirt, but also the um the zip ties, the whole zip ties.

SPEAKER_03

Like we we we put some work into some stuff, we've built some sets, we've it we we did some shit, and it came out like I feel like everything came out like the way that I was going, people thought I was already like I don't want to say an established artist, but that I was doing it for some time. But that was like my first music video, my first like release, my first like at all. And um, I think with your help and the team that I had, it was really people don't realize that it takes a village to create everything that goes on behind scenes. And when people are independent artists, it's a lot of fucking work.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's all on you too. Like there's no record label telling you who to be or what you're gonna look like or what to wear. There's no record label telling you what team you're gonna work with to make you big and a star.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you have to find those people, and I like that was something that like I'm happy for that I because I have some dope relationships with some dope people. I'm obviously the closest team out of all the people that I've worked with, but the connections that I've made, I would say like I would I would think that I would communicate with those people for the rest of my life.

SPEAKER_00

I would think, yeah, I think once you find those creative people that have a vision and can understand your vision, it's it's not easy to let them go.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, exactly. And I think that's what it is, is like they they see beyond and they see your potential of because some people are just like, why are you even trying? Like, why are you doing that? Like, why don't you just go to school? Like, learn how to be a bartender, or my grandmother would tell me to be a fucking cocktail waitress all the time. You don't want to get your CDL license? I don't. My mom tells me to get my fucking CDL license all the time. I don't want to drive no big ass fucking truck. I hear they make great money though. I hear too, I don't give a shit. Um I'm not the richest girl in the world, but I'm not doing that bad. I feel like to just want to put my dreams aside and be like, no, fuck this.

SPEAKER_00

I can't. Yeah, I I don't know anything else besides dreaming.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like I didn't do all of this within my transition to become this woman that I am, to be an average fucking woman. I did not, and that's just how I feel.

SPEAKER_00

It was never the dream, yeah. I I never once dreamed dreamt yeah to be a basic lady, never like in power to the people.

SPEAKER_03

Hello, um, power to the people, if that's even like a thing, you know. Like I I I hear them and I but it's not for me. I don't want to do it now. I'll date somebody all day that is a regular individual. I actually would like that. I probably prefer that.

SPEAKER_00

I like to be the rock star, yeah. Exactly. Not the rock star's girlfriend.

SPEAKER_03

Um and yeah, it's it's comp it's complicated because I'm attracted to creatives. Like I am really attractive to creative men, but I don't want to I I think that there is like has to be some type of I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I don't ever want a man that thinks he's like the better catch than me. And sometimes I feel like those creative or actor, like any, I don't know, like people who are I like me a rapper.

SPEAKER_03

A rapper, a songwriter, like uh but they like have this thing where they're like, it's me.

SPEAKER_00

I'm the sh I'm the I'm the ish.

SPEAKER_03

They do have these egos. I mean like yeah, it's the ego thing.

SPEAKER_00

Again, it takes a village. But I do understand, like I and I can respect the people who are like I'm the ish because that's how you get to where you need to go, is believing in yourself.

SPEAKER_03

You have to absolutely believe in yourself, and I think that's also what I admire about artists and why I um am attracted to them because I do that if you for you to see a vision in yourself that nobody else sees, and then you truly believe in that, that turns me on like I really do enjoy. I respect that, yeah. I do. Um, because I know what that takes because I I I feel that. So I know the courage that it takes is like take a step in the unknown and just try.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, try to make something out of nothing when nobody asked you to, and some don't believe in you.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

I guess that's part of the reason why we're here today is because we've been cheering each other on and believing in each other's dreams.

SPEAKER_03

I think that that's what is important, like the the people that you surround yourself with, it's so important for them to see you and see everything that you want out of life, and know that it's not too much, or that you're asking for too much, or your desires are too much, that like you're deserving of every single crazy thing that and it may be crazy, it's it's crazy to other people, but to you and your people, it's like I see it for you, and that's that's important because I feel like surrounding yourself, like I don't share we talked about this, like about not discussing like certain things with certain people because they will put their fears and projections onto you.

SPEAKER_00

And um I feel like we need to be surrounding ourselves with people who breathe life into us, but or not at all.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly, and you've always like rooting for me, and I appreciate you, and I feel like you see me, and you you see like the bigger picture of like I feel like you see even past what I see for myself at times, and I appreciate you for that because and I feel like that's what's like that's what's kept a lot of things alive. I feel within the projects that I've done, or just sometimes just like I thought like at one point, like maybe I should just no get a CDL license.

SPEAKER_00

No, like you know, like girl, we'll hustle and we'll work harder and we'll have two jobs and we'll do whatever, but we never ever just quit.

SPEAKER_03

It's not, I don't it can't be in the DNA, and I don't think I really don't think it's in my DNA.

SPEAKER_00

I think I'll thumb on Louise it before I quit.

SPEAKER_03

That's how I feel. Genuinely. Thumb with Louise it. Oh, by the way, if you guys didn't catch the reference, we're thumb and Louise. So that's what's going on today.

SPEAKER_01

Oh this is my most glamorous way I want to present to the world.

SPEAKER_00

Uh yeah, well, um, why would you say we call ourselves sisters?

SPEAKER_03

I think to call somebody a sister is to um it's more than a friend. It's more than I tell you things that I don't tell a lot of people. I talk to you about things, I talk to you about my fears. I don't I don't feel judgment from you when I'm crying or when I'm laughing, I'm being goofy, if I'm being like a bitch, if I'm being rude, if I'm like if I I don't feel like you judge me even if I say something that is out of line or like could be outlandish, like somebody would clutch their fucking pearls at what I just said. You know what I'm saying? And I feel like that is my sister, like she just sees me and gets me and understands, so that's why I call you my sister. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Same. Like talk to you about anything, get advice when I need it, create share creative ideas, but also like just somebody to share life with. Yeah, that's like someone you love dearly, more than just a friend. Yeah. I think you don't have to be bled to be sisters. We've talked about this before, even sometimes people who are bled aren't necessarily closest to you. Yeah, but there's chosen family.

SPEAKER_03

I think that's what I think I I like, I say I think a lot. Um, our generation is figuring out that like just because we're family, we don't have to be we're not tied to these people just because we're blood. So we don't have to tolerate disrespect or people that we just don't vibe with. We don't have to tolerate seeing the weird uncle. Like, you know, we don't have to tolerate those things any longer. Like, we get to build our own tribe of people, and that's one thing that I hate social media, but I love it at the same time because I feel like if I I wouldn't have found you or some of the people that I've worked with that are in my circle, my tribe, and like that see my bigger vision, and so that's why I think it's just such a like a you could find your community.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I hate social media, you know. I feel about that, but I I do feel like on the other side of we've talked about this as well, cringe on the other side of the fear of people seeing us when we're actually able to show our gifts and promote ourselves. Social media is just amazing because it allows us to reach so many people in places that we never probably could if we didn't have it, or a record like exactly, you know, yeah, like people can really do things by themselves, exactly, and that's why like I try to express that to a lot of my friends.

SPEAKER_03

We've we've had this conversation that it's about we have to be vulnerable and be willing to get past that cringe moment to reach the people that we're trying to reach, and um I think that's like a lot of our ego and our pride, and like wanting to be a perfectionist and wanting to be perceived a certain way and wanting to control that, and we have no control over how we're perceived, and that could be scary.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but that's my biggest challenge. Ugh, I feel like you know, their thoughts on you don't matter, but it we have I think there's this psychology theory that's called the looking glass self, and it's I think I'm a certain way because of what I think you think of me. So if you think I'm funny and I think you think I'm funny, then I think I'm funny. Yeah, and I think as much as I want to be sovereign in who I am and autonomous and not be so affected by the outside because I'm strong in myself, we're just so aware of how we're being perceived, and some people don't care, and others are very much affected, and social media makes that really tough because everyone's just always putting that um positive self-image out there, that edited version of themselves, yeah, because everyone's afraid of how they're gonna be perceived. Not everyone, I take that back, but those that are, and then the ones that aren't, I feel like are more successful because they could care less what people think of them.

SPEAKER_03

They're dominating like their space.

SPEAKER_00

I feel it's crazy too, because people have such short-term memory, like they really don't remember things if you keep putting out more stuff, if you keep becoming greater and greater and greater, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And I think that that's what also like one person that like I admire that is in the industry that is really big right now is um Cardi B. Um, I remember seeing like her post, and she was just a girl that was funny on the internet.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she was just a funny dancing girl.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and then she got on love and hip hop, and then it just progressed from there, and then she locked in and she made it happen, and um I respect that, and I I also respect um SWs um that um that actually don't just allow that to be their identity and still chase their dreams because I feel like that's where I struggle with it. It's like getting to that position.

SPEAKER_00

You're just locked in on the dream.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you gotta lock in, and that's that's what it is. And I feel like this is where our locking in starts, at least in my eyes. I think that this is with this, we have to hold each other accountable. We have to push each other, we have to tell each other like this is going to be this is like this is our train right now that we're on. And we have to keep dumping coal into it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I have to see it through, finish what we start. Uh yes, and I guess that's why it's nice to have a sister sometimes, is just to keep you on track. Cheer you on.

SPEAKER_03

Cheer you on. Lift you up when you fell down and like tell you everything's gonna be okay. It's like that's like I've I've like I've just cried in front of you so many times. Like you've seen me go through breakups, you've seen me go through hearts with men, disappointments in myself, with where I am, and I think that those things are like to not feel a sense of judgment from you when that's like a that's like a bond that I I I love that we have.

SPEAKER_00

I appreciate you too. Yeah, because girl, you see me not at my greatest. Yeah, same. But I know you also see me when I'm at my greatest. So I thank you for that. I love you for that.

SPEAKER_03

I love you too.

SPEAKER_00

I think we have a lot to give the world. And I'm excited for what we have to share.

SPEAKER_03

I agree. Um I'm excited for people to see our different outlooks on life and our different like upbringing, similarities, and how certain things that we've been through have shaped us in life in general. And that um I think it a lot of women or just people will be able to relate and it all kind of like makes sense because I think that me and you do a lot of we try to like do a lot of soul searching, I feel like girl.

SPEAKER_00

I d I have to live with myself.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So I wanna like be kind enough to her and understand her, but also be able to push her to be the best she can be. Yeah, yeah, I think it helps having somebody else on the journey that's trying to be the same. Yeah, share those thoughts with when we're exploring soul. Uh share our thoughts after meditation or yeah, yeah, this is a journey. I'm excited for us. I'm excited for I'm excited for everything that we're yeah, we're getting into.

SPEAKER_03

I feel like we're on the we're taking the steps to to the the the dream girl checklist.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you know? Uh we're excited to share it with you guys.

SPEAKER_03

And I I I see ladies. I'm you know, I'm um nervous, excited. I'm excited for people to see the development, the growth, and like the um, we were talking about our wigs and how um our these hard ass wigs will get us the soft life. Hard ass soft life. So um, but yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know, sometimes you start with a hard wig and eventually you'll get to a glueless.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I feel like everybody has had their hard wig stage. I remember um I would see Doja Cat and her wigs would be fucked off. And like Nicki Minaj, I feel like her wigs recently just started getting good, probably the last like not that long ago. Don't kill me.

SPEAKER_00

I'm about to say that.

SPEAKER_03

But there's just certain people that have been out in the industry and their wigs have just been, but now they're they're they got these sickening wigs, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know, we're gonna be like Halle Berry and Tyra Banks wigs. Yes, most sickening wigs.

SPEAKER_03

You don't even know it's a wig.

SPEAKER_00

No, this girl on my head.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, it's coming, it's from the scalp, honey. I like me a very natural-looking wig.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I like to look like this is what God gave me.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, exactly. Like I that that would ideally like to be like how it goes. And I I know that you know the swoop-de-doos and all of those things, and I like a little swoop-de-doo here and there. Girl, I love little swoop-de-loops, but I can't do a whole swoop-do-doo around the whole hairline of my wig.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like that it's oh, just one or two little accents. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's not my style. All of the crazy whole edge line cleaned up. I like uh a few messy. Um I'm a messy hair, hands in the hair kind of girl, though. I'm not really a coffed hairstylist. But we we just talked about this. I would like to be that girl that's just perfect hair.

SPEAKER_03

See, I just want to be like perfect goddess hair. Like I just want to be a perfect goddess, yeah. Like effortless and beautiful and like breathtaking. Like, that's that's my idea. Like, just like wow, she has a mane on her.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, in general, I just want to radiate goddess energy. Yeah, you know, kind of like Regina George, they'd be like, her hair is so amazing because it has so many secrets.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

That's not even the line, but you know, you get the chance.

SPEAKER_03

I got it, I got it, I got it, I got it.

SPEAKER_00

We allowed to say that. I don't fucking know. I'm figuring out the thing. Um, all right. I guess if we're gonna keep this, what what are podcasts? 20 to 30, 40 minutes?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we don't it doesn't have to be like this like hour.

SPEAKER_00

Where are we at? I don't I don't I don't know. Let's see. We're at 30 minutes right now. All right, well let's wrap it up. Uh let's see. Uh last. If I had three words to describe you, they would be inspiring. They would be that's one word. Two. I want to say beautiful, but I feel like it's like doesn't touch it enough. Maybe it's like captivating or like mesmerizing. Tell me more. Tell me more. And third, to describe my sister, I would say limitless. She could do anything she puts her mind to. I believe that.

SPEAKER_03

Thank you. Um again, I that's where it comes in where I think I said like you see things in myself that I don't necessarily always see. So to hear that, um that means a lot. Of course. Yeah. Um my three words for my sister. You know, I was thinking over here, and I I honestly feel like we kind of feel the same towards about each other. I I genuinely do think that.

SPEAKER_00

Um, my favorite compliments when people give you a compliment and you just feel like, yeah, I'm a reflection of you.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like that's that's how I feel. Like, um I I see all of that in you. And um There's been so many times where like, okay, let me not get off track. But okay, so one word. My first word would be um I think you are like a just like a force. I think you are a powerhouse. Like when I say force, that's what I mean. I think that you are there's nothing that I seen you do that I don't feel like you do good. Like, and I know that like girl, I and I don't know if it's because I'm I'm googly at it for my sister, because I'm just like, oh, she's just so amazing. I love everything that she does. But that's genuinely how I feel. I I see you do something for the first time, and I get so like inspired by you and proud, and yeah, I can't wait for people to see what the fuck you are capable of doing. Um my second word would be you said you said captivating, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_03

So I would say like let's say astonishing. Are you recycling my words? No, like no, because that's really how I feel. Like, um, I think when you walk into a room, I think you light it up. I think your smile, I think your energy, your presence, the way that you carry yourself. I like when you put it on, you put it on. And that is not everybody has that. I think some people um they're just there. They're just NPCs. NPCs. Oh my god. They're just there. And I think you're not you're my I I've decided that my sister's not one of those.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not an NPC.

SPEAKER_03

No, yeah, no. She uh she has a what was that thing that you told me back in the day? Like you were like, as soon as I leave the room, I just like everybody's like, like just like kind of like everybody's life stops. And like, yeah, no, I don't, I don't, uh you're not that like you're right. Your life's going. Yeah. So um, so yeah. Um, so word number three. Fiery. I don't think that people always get to see um certain sides of you. Um I think that a lot of people perceive you as being a certain way. And I've gotten to see, I feel like a lot of your personalities. She's got a personality.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, I'll own it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So yeah, you are you are a spicy thing. You the the ginger matches you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, this grows on in my head, by the way.

SPEAKER_03

It is she's a she's a natural redhead.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh my gosh, this voice.

SPEAKER_03

So, yeah, so those are my three words for my sister.

SPEAKER_00

I appreciate those words. I love those words. I'm excited again. I keep saying that, but I'm excited for this journey and to be able to learn and grow and collect data with you.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, collecting data. So that's something that we've been saying.

SPEAKER_01

Getting by life with. Just collecting data.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so it's just trial and error. And so we don't take things as like it's not that serious. Yeah, we're just collecting data. If we fumble, we pick ourselves up, and we've collected that data to be able to move forward. And I think that's exactly what this journey is going to be. We're gonna be collecting data along the way until we create this amazing fucking hard drive that is this power computer that is just like unstoppable. This like power engine.

SPEAKER_00

I think so. Yeah, I think you guys are in for something awesome. It's so yeah, stay tuned. We have a bunch of episodes that um we plan to get out and want to share with you guys.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, stay tuned. Um, subscribe, like, share, all of the things that the the people say. We need you to do all of that, okay? Yeah. Um, nothing.

SPEAKER_00

We're trying to build a sister here. We're trying to build something, yeah. And we need you to.

SPEAKER_03

And um, by the way, um, Miss Seven here wanted to make an appearance and she snores her ass off.

SPEAKER_00

Um she fake snores too. So half this probably isn't even real. She just wanted attention.

SPEAKER_03

They're my kids. So yes, um, the attention is they're seeking it. Um, but yeah, I think this is a wrap. I love you, and I'm so proud of us, and I'm excited, and I I feel like you guys are in store for some dope ass shit, and we're in store for some dope as shit and some headaches and some tears and some little sassiness and all the things, and I'm excited.

SPEAKER_00

All the things, yeah, and all the things in between. I would like y'all to think of us as like I don't know, the I think I guess what would sister say, right? Like the advice you need when you don't know what to do, when you need somebody to talk to, um, when you need a girlfriend to just laugh and sip wine with, yeah. Or um a big sister to tell you how to fix your eyebrows, you know, all of that. And we're happy to be that for you guys. If you guys are down to share and be that with us, yeah, be that with us.

SPEAKER_03

Um I I would I I feel like it's so cringy sometimes for people to say we're girls, girls. But like you think we are, we're girls, girls that like girls.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I want to be a girls girl. I wanna I want to yeah, have a community of women that love other women, yeah, and want to see other women shine and grow. Yeah, um, yeah, a girl's girl.

SPEAKER_03
