In this powerful first part of our conversation with Jay, we dive deep into a story marked by struggle, healing, and undeniable transformation. From his childhood experiences to his battles with sickness, Jay opens up about the moments that shaped his faith and led him to a life-changing encounter—being baptized in the Holy Spirit.

This episode is raw, real, and full of truth. Even through unexpected technical difficulties, one thing became clear: when God is moving, nothing can stop the message. What tried to interrupt only made this conversation more powerful.

Jay’s journey is one of perseverance, surrender, and healing—and this is only the beginning.

🔥 This is Part 1 of Jay’s story.

SPEAKER_01

Hello, my peoples. Robert the Realist back today. We've got a special guest today. We also have our wonderful co-host, Partner in Crime, up and coming Christian artist, Madison Sharp.

SPEAKER_03

Hello, guys.

SPEAKER_01

And we do have a special guest, like I said, today, and he's gonna go by the name Jay. He uh stopped me one day in in a parking lot and said, I got a story to tell. And I said, What's his story? And I'm just gonna like super duper paraphrase because I'm gonna let him get into the details, and this may be we're thinking a two, three, four-part series. We'll probably cut it off at about 30 minutes. Um I'm just gonna say that he's seen or been to hell. And we're both, and we are very interested in finding out. So he is gonna start the podcast off from a certain point or certain timeline in his life, and then we'll just plug in and ask questions. We might have some questions too as you're going along. So welcome, Jay.

SPEAKER_00

Good to be here, excited.

SPEAKER_03

Ready to hear it.

SPEAKER_00

I'm happy. I want other people to hear it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Let's uh let's start off at the beginning. Where are you at?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean, just like most kids go, you know, parents take them to church, grandparents take them to church. We started out uh at a Baptist church, grandpa was a deacon in it for years and years. You know, we get there and and most of the time with kids, you know, you play on the benches, mom, dad tells you to be quiet, you know, you don't pick a whole lot up. But um, you know, we did that for years and years and years. Um, you know, starting trying to get your feet wet in the spiritual world. And uh as you grow up, you know, you kind of start learning more things, and you know, we go to different churches, you know, people invite you to different churches and stuff. So we kind of transitioned from that Baptist background to going into like a Pentecost background, which is two completely different ballgames. I mean, you're talking two different spectrums of the world. So when anybody asks us what religion are we, we say Baptica costs. You know, raised Baptist, but we're our heart and our soul is in that Pentecost realm, you know. And uh so, you know, that that really impacted my life, you know, because the way I feel nowadays in a lot of these churches, I don't want to be, you know, hypocritical or anything here, but I feel that the spirit and the movement is just kind of dead in churches, you know. I hate hate to say it like that, but you just don't get a lot out of it. You know, you get a Sunday morning message, you know, hey, glad you're here. Here's your message, hey, let's go eat, you know, whatever afterwards. You just don't seem like it has that spiritual aspect anymore. But I knew when we walked into the Pentecostal churches, it just seems like they're more alive. You know, and I and it's it's kind of a two-sided store, you know, story there because some of my friends are church of Christ, and they'll hear what I do, you know, at my churches on Sunday, and they're like, oh man, that's that that's not, you're not supposed to do that. You're not supposed to be playing interest in church, you know, and that I think is what has happened to so many people in this life is you know, so many people tell so many versions of what they think and of how their church is, and I think that's what's that's what kind of makes people maybe not as believe as much, is because there's so many versions. Oh, you can't do this, oh you can't wear makeup, oh you can't wear it. Is real, yeah, you know, and that's what it is. We we complicate things too much. And I think if it was just more simplicity, people would understand. But for us going to that Pentecostal church, it seemed like we felt alive. You know, you see little kids raising their hands, you know, a lot of things to people, you know, speaking in tongues, just like my friend, like I said, that was Church of Christ. No, they don't believe in that. They thought that was the day of Pentecost. It happened one time, and that's it. He still doesn't believe that our church does that. No, that's that's that's not how it works, but but it is how it works. You know, and so I am here to kind of give my story of those things, of healings that have been given to me. I've watched people been healed, I've seen miracles with my eyes, I've had things happen to me that saved my life numerous times. You know, if I can save one person, if one person out there listening to this podcast that's going through troubles in life, that's been addicted to alcohol, drugs, abusive relationships, you know, maybe been, let's just say sexually molested, whatever, you know, those are ghosts and demons that want to hold you down spiritually. And if one person can hear this podcast, here I am 44 years old, and have been through just what I just now said, and I've been successful, my wife is successful, our kids, but why? Why are we successful? Because we gave ourselves to God.

SPEAKER_03

Breaking generational curses.

SPEAKER_00

Point. Absolutely, breaking those curses, and people say, I can't get out of it. Yes, you can.

SPEAKER_03

I can.

SPEAKER_00

People say, Why? If you're so good and everything's going so good in your life, well, why does bad things happen to you? Why? Why does God let's just say something does happen like that? Let's say something good people have been in church their whole life, a tragedy happens to them. Why? Maybe there's something we don't see. Maybe that's God asking for, you know, our God is a movement God. He wants to see things, he wants your emotions, he wants to see you growing. You're if you're not growing, you're not going, is that how we say it in the Pentecost church? So, why do bad things happen to good people? Sometimes things happen, I believe, to get your heart and your mind back on the Lord. Sometimes our focus is out here in this world. It's too busy. Things happen. We get complacent in this life. I just, I hate to be that way. I don't know God's not being it to be mean, but spiritually, sometimes I think we have to be shook to get back to where we need to be. Absolutely. It's it's feeding your spirit, it's feeding your soul. So again, hoping that my story, whether it's one or two parts, the ending is of course the biggest part. It's a story that you know I've held on to, like I told y'all, since like 2009, 2008. And some people say, Oh, it's wild, there's no way that happened to you. It did happen. I had confirmation that it happened, and which I will get into in that part. But it is an absolutely amazing thing. It needs to be heard, it needs, and I've been holding on to it for all these years. Like, man, you tell somebody this, they're gonna look at you like you got squids growing out of your head. I mean, you know, because people don't believe it. I think we're just so used to living on faith, comfortable. We didn't think about it like this. We didn't have what the the apostles had. They walked with Jesus, they seen his miracles. Everybody he brought to them, they seen him touch people and heal people. They, just like even like the Israelites when they left, uh, when they left out of the Pharaoh, what did they have that led them to the desert by night and by day? They had all these miraculous things to go by. And even then, just think about even that, them people still didn't believe, even with their whole hearts.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Just imagine that, to see all they got to see, and their flesh, as Paul says, your flesh has to die daily, they've still made mistakes. They still didn't believe in it. But you know, it's just hopefully the story, hopefully it will help open some eyes and hearts.

SPEAKER_01

So some of you probably won't know this, but we just got back to recording because right after Jay got done preaching, I'd call it, the devil decided that he wanted to pause the podcast. Pause the podcast, which in technical form, you have to have two steps to stop the podcast recording, but it just stopped recording before we could even get into the story. So I thought uh that was cool. Like you won't know that, but it it uh it happened. Spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is real, everyone's real, and we just all got the chills thinking about it, and then Madison said a quick prayer that uh the devil's not winning the day. So we you won't know this, but we're back recording here in the picking back up. We're picking back up, all right, ma'am.

SPEAKER_00

We're gonna go back to it. So getting back, talking about uh some things that started happening to me after, like I said, growing up in this abusive household, just started getting sick. Um, I couldn't eat, couldn't swallow, couldn't do anything. I mean, I lost 30 pounds in a month. They thought I had cancer. They took me down to UAMS, down in Little Rock, Children's Hospital down there, run some scopes down me, couldn't find nothing wrong with me. I just could not eat. I couldn't hold anything but mashed potatoes. That's all I could swallow. Anything else, I just choked to death. And you know, I had some, you know, we were in that apostolic church at Pentecostal church, and they laid hands on me. And I'll never forget it. I went up there, they laid hands on me, anointed me with oil, and I was sitting back with one of my favorite people. I grew up with this lady, she was really good to me. I was sitting back on the church pew with her. All of a sudden, I feel my stomach kind of churning, just going around and around, and it got really, really, really warm. It just kept getting warmer and warmer. And it was like a washing machine, and I was looking at her and I was like, am I feeling this? What is you know, I'm a kid, I'm I'm you know, 11, 12 years old. You know, you don't know much about the healing process and this and that. All of a sudden, I mean I had my leg crossed, so I had one foot over my knee, and I'm sitting there, and all of a sudden, this warm just kept going, kept going, kept going, getting hotter, and all of a sudden it, whoosh, I just felt it go out of my body. And as it did, my whole foot jumped, moved my leg, my foot and my leg off my other leg, flew, and I kind of just set it back to the floor by the other one. And Miss Pat, Miss Pat was the one. She looked at me, she's like, Are you okay, hon? I said, Something happened. She said, What do you mean? I said, Miss Pat, I think I've been healed. And she said, Amen. You know, she, of course, we were in it was in church, she was whispering it to me. She's like, All right, you know, so after church, I told her what happened. And she, of course, just started confirming it. Oh, thank you, God, you know, thank you for the helping this child. Because I mean, I was literally didn't know if I had cancer. We didn't know what was wrong with me. And so I got home that day, I just at leaving that church, I started feeling hungry. I said, Mom, I think I can eat. Got home, started eating, started eating real food. She made me something to eat. Started eating. I was like, Oh my, oh my God, I can eat again. That thing was gone instantly out of my body, left me. All and I will never not think it wasn't a demon. In me, or somehow, or something had a hold of my my spirit, my heart, whatever. Wasn't allowed me to absorb food. It was gone. Started eating, got healthy again, never had another issue.

SPEAKER_01

What makes you think it was a demon?

SPEAKER_00

Who knows? Maybe it was all the all the trouble that was in my household, all the abuse, all the alcohol, you know, the cussing, the fighting. I mean, you're a kid watching your mom get beat up all the time. I mean, the cussing, the nobody has an idea that unless they live with a chronic drunk. Nobody knows what a kid goes through. I had concoctions poured down my throat. I mean, this guy would make things of Wilcheshire sauce, hot sauce, spices, put beer in it, catch. He would make these things and hold my nose and break plastic cups on my mouth, pouring it down my throat. This is things that a kid had to go through. I got hit in the head by baseball bats from him, just major abuse. I just think it was evil there from him. He was raised like that. He'd never been to church. I don't think his spirit was capable of the stuff. He'd just never been in it. He was pure evil. I mean, so I think maybe something like that possibly could have come. I have no idea. What else would attack a little kid like that? I don't know. So, you know, that was where it first started with me. It first started that there, and I was like, what in the world? So I was healed. The next thing that kind of happened to me, you know, I for some reason I was having trouble walking. I don't know what the clue, I don't know what the problem was. One foot for some reason was a little shorter than the other one. They said, you know, around a half inch shorter, whatever. It was just causing me issues when I was running. It was putting popping my hip out of place, and I was having a lot of back issues. Another spiritual lady from a different church that we grew up with, you know, she said, Jared, we can pray for this. And I was like, Well, you know, I mean, I'm a kid, I already knew I'd been healed once. I was like, Well, Mary, I don't, her name was Mary. I said, Mary, I don't know. This is this is different. This is my leg. How you gonna how are you gonna make my leg grow? I'll never forget her sitting me down in a chair, guys. And she was super spiritual. She came under so much demonic attacks after that. I mean, it was serious stuff with her, but anyways, she sat me down. She started praying for me, and she had me stick my feet out, and we were all sitting there praying on my mom's back porch. I'll never forget it. And it was almost like uh slow motion, like anime stuff when somebody's jumping through the air gonna do a special move. It was just ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch chch child. I watched my leg grow. And this is no lie. Unbelievable. Watched my foot go ch ch ch ch ch chch ch and all of a sudden she looked up at me, she goes, You're healed. And I said, What? I stood up perfectly level, feet were absolutely the same size, leg grew, never had another issue, hip, nothing. I was completely fixed. Unbelievable stuff like that. People are like, there's no way that doesn't happen. It happens. I'm telling you, I have nothing to gain from telling this story. I'm more likely to lose friends and people if they hear this story, go, man, this guy is crazy. He's a painter. He has sniffed some pain or something. You know, but it's not. This is real. This is, you know, I'm not saying everybody gets it. Some people are given gifts of discernment, some people are given other gifts, gifts of speaking in tongue. Things happen to certain people. You know, it happened to me. So, you know, that that continued to happen. Um, you know, I had other things happen, you know, where growing up, you know, like you heard a voice in your head saying, Hey, slow down. There's something over that next hill. Hit the brakes, slow down. What do you know? You go over the next hill, there's a truck parked in the middle of the road. If you wouldn't have listened to that voice, whether it was an angel, whether it was your inner spirit, whether it was the Holy Spirit, I can't answer that. All I know is whatever told me to slow down driving like I did. If I wouldn't have, I would have plowed that car.

SPEAKER_03

I've turned around midway to Columbia a few times with Blaze. Like, if you I if I get that, let's turn around, I'm turning around. I'm not.

SPEAKER_00

I absolutely believe the spirit. You know, and what reason does it choose you? I don't know. Yeah, I have no idea. All I know is you start hearing them things and you're like, okay, I better listen. And it has saved my life multiple times. And uh, you know, so we, you know, with with that, I grew older, you know, I started getting older and uh kept continuing to go to these churches, you know, these apostolic churches, Pentecostal churches, you know, because that we felt that's where it was at, you know. So, you know, uh just been a big uh, how do I say it? It's been a big influence in my life, you know, to be around people that have that belief system like that, you know, and and to see people people speaking in tongues and to see people be touched and be healed, people that had masses in their breasts or masses in their brains, and to be touched by people and go back to the doctor and it's gone. You know? So it's out here, you know, it's totally out here. And of course, the stuff that, which I'll get into the second part probably, unless it goes three parts, but you know, that's the most important part. But just kind of giving a background to kind of where I come from, you know, because I I'm I'm you know, I'm just like anybody else that's been out here that started going to church and seeing these things and trying to get their feet wet in the spiritual world. And, you know, there's so much influence out here in the world, you know, you just don't know really where to go. And some people are in that spot, you know. But the Lord says, you know, it literally says in scripture, you you're not lukewarm. If you're lukewarm, he spits you out. You're either hot or cold, you know, and so for the people riding the fence, maybe listen to this podcast, listen to the words. Look, I'm telling you, I am just as you, flesh and blood, just as you are. And I had these things happen to me. And the biggest thing that people don't understand, why don't I see that? Your spirit's not ready. Maybe you haven't surrendered yourself. You have to surrender yourself a hundred percent, a hundred and ten percent sometimes to the Lord before he'll show you things, before he'll allow things to be in your life, maybe for you to see. And I know that may not seem fair to some people and say, oh man, why, but I don't make the rules. Right. I didn't make the rules, you know. Like I tell people all the time, this life is a hard life. We were never promised it was gonna be easy. I tell people all the time the only thing that we were promised was it wasn't gonna be a safe flight, only a safe landing. You were not promised that you were gonna have a perfect life. You were not promised that you're you were gonna be wealthy and born of this and your health was gonna be. You were not given that. But what you are promised, that if you live that life that he's asked you to live through the words of his, you know, through the Bible and what he sent his son here for us to do, you have that promise to when you take your last breath on this earth, whether it be by nature or whether it be by the rapture, that you are going to what he's created for you. That's what we've been told. The Lord says, I created creation to let you know there's a creator. All you have to do is look outside and look at the trees, look at our bodies, look at how everything is made, how perfect it is. That just doesn't happen. You just something that turns carbon dioxide into oxygen to keep you alive. You know, just think about just how sensitive our bodies are, our hearts beating in our chest. We have an electrical current in our heart, keeping our blood flowing. It was designed by someone. So, you know, we were made in his image. So people got to understand that he is out here, even though you can't see him. You know, it's like the Gentiles were moved up to where they were. Why? Why were the Gentiles, not saying better than the Jews, but the Gentiles believed more than the Jews. That's when the apostles are like, well, these people are not even of you, Lord, and they believe in you. And that's why God said, turn yourself to them, turn yourself to the Gentiles, allow them to have a way to make it to work, like where our Jewish people are. We're gonna, they believe in me even more than my own people do. So you've got to have that belief system. You have to trust that there's a Lord. And like I said, the creation was created to allow you to see that. It just didn't pop up out of nowhere. An asteroid didn't hit the earth, and we become here, and we didn't walk up out of the sea. So we were made for a reason.

SPEAKER_01

Man, right preacher Jay.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I've already cried twice during this thing. Maybe really wow, I'm just locked in over here.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, I keep forgetting that I'm supposed to be part of this sometime.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know. I don't want to speak all the time. No, you're good.

SPEAKER_03

But we have you on here. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So one I got a question, and it's just because I don't know. Pentecostal, what what's the big difference between Baptist and Pentecostal? So in your opinion.

SPEAKER_00

So, you know, when so here's the deal, what what I think, you know, Pentecostal church, you know, like a Baptist church, uh, let's say Church of Christ, you know, they believe in like speaking, singing a cappello. They have no instruments, you know. They believe the instruments are not, God doesn't command that to be in there. Even though there's some some scriptures that say, play with joy in your heart, you know, heart, play with the harp, this and that. They don't believe it's, I don't believe that you're supposed to use music to bring the Spirit of the Lord down, supposedly, just like the Baptists. What do they do? They play the piano and you sing out of the hymn book. You know? So Baptists, so the Pentecost, you know, you have singing, you got drums, you got bass guitar. I don't know what splits that off. I don't know why they wear skirts. I don't know why the belief system is, you know, I in the Bible does say, you know, woman's hair is her glory. Don't cut your glory. A man's not supposed to have long hair. You know, there's certain rules like Old Testament and things like that that I think they still implement. But what's the difference? I I think the Pentecostal belief is so much more in-depth with speaking in tongues.

SPEAKER_03

Just the way of worship.

SPEAKER_00

Just the way of worship, yes. The way they praise God, the way they do, uh, the way they preach. Um I think it's just a complete different, I don't know if I want to say soul, but I hate to say it this way, but it just feels like uh, oh my gosh, how can I say it? Going from a country music concert to a uh heavy metal concert, you know. Yeah, it's just that's a little more my speed, yeah, is understanding it's better on it. You know, it's maybe it's that way to explain it to people.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I just I went from Baptist to now non-denominational. Yep. Like nothing in between, so I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's like the non-dominational is sort of the same thing. You guys got bass, you have drums.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I would say we're kind of Pentecostal bass.

SPEAKER_00

You are. The only thing that I noticed about non-denominational is I will say it's how do I say it's it's toned down. Um I've been to a few non-dominationals. I I've never seen anybody speak in tongues, you know. And not saying that's wrong. They do. Do they? They do. So I've been to a few where they didn't, you know, and I don't, but then in some of the worshiping, you know, was a little bit turned down, this and that.

SPEAKER_03

But he's gonna have to come one day to I keep telling him. Please.

SPEAKER_00

It's it's so hard when you go from like what we've been to, you know, where you see people running around doing cartwheels, you know, flopping on the ground like a fish out of a fish tank, to going somewhere where it's not as much. You're just kind of like, wow.

SPEAKER_03

People need to see that though.

SPEAKER_00

I mean they can kick us out of y'all strip. I've been there. I mean, they probably kick me out.

SPEAKER_03

No, come on, we want it.

SPEAKER_01

I've been there for 15 years. We need some some stuff. I just think it's no cartwheels.

SPEAKER_03

I'll try. I'll try Sunday.

SPEAKER_00

I will never forget our church up in Donahue, Missouri. West Point Pentecostal. Oh my gosh. To see. Those people run the aisles to see those kids raise their hands. I mean, jumping up and down, praising God. Oh man, there's nothing better. Nothing.

SPEAKER_01

That's interesting. I might have to YouTube that.

SPEAKER_03

High energy. Oh, you've never seen a Pentecostal church online, or you know?

SPEAKER_00

No, it is so high energy.

SPEAKER_03

They get it.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I love it. And you get that. It is right. It's it's a lot different. It's almost like you feel the heartbeat. Boom, doom, doom. That whole place is just shaking. Oh. And you know the spirit, you get the goosey bumps, your hair is on your neck is sticking up, and you know somebody's fixed to start speaking in tongues. You know somebody's fixing the Holy Ghost.

SPEAKER_01

You ever spoke in tongues?

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. And that's we'll get into that. I don't know how much time we got left, but we can get into that maybe in part two.

SPEAKER_02

We have about eight minutes left.

SPEAKER_00

Eight minutes left. We might be able to get into it. Let's go ahead. Let's get into it.

SPEAKER_02

Let's do it.

SPEAKER_00

So once let's just go ahead. All right. So as I grew a little bit older, you know, got married to my wife, you know, we started going. She was Catholic. So imagine a Pentecostal man marrying a Catholic girl. Yeah. That was just two different genres, it seems like, right there. Two different liking. So to pull her, you know, to pull her into uh a Pentecostal church was it was incredible. First time she went there. She was just like, her eyes were bigger and so you know, half dog. She was like, what is going on? Totally different, different things. Oh, she thinks snakes was coming out. I mean, you know, she said, Where's the snakes, Jared? What's happening? You know, and I said, No, no, no, I didn't like that, you know. So, you know, we started getting into this and she started seeing it and she loved it, you know. And, you know, we we started diving into our another church that we local church that another lady that really was spiritual my whole life, she was in the same church that Miss Pat was in church with. Her name was Joy. She passed away last year. But so this lady took me under her wing and she said, let's go to this church. This bat, this preacher is amazing. Let's get you in here. So I did. I got in there, I started seeking the Lord more. I talked to him. I was like, Well, I feel like my life has better purpose than what I've got. And they're like, Well, what about ministering? I was like, I that's a possibility. I feel like I've got able to speak to people. I feel like that may be where my life goes. And he said, Okay, let's do this. I want to get you in here, I want to start ministering. You I want to start maybe getting you going and preaching a little bit on Sundays. And they did that. They gave me the church. I mean, here I am, a 20-something, 23-year-old guy, and I'm in front of this whole church. You know, so I'm studying, I'm learning stuff, you know, and here they give me the platform. So every church, you know, every other Sunday, here I am in front of people ministering. And it was such an experience for me. It it it I shouldn't say aged me, but it grew me up so quick. Got in there, started doing that, but I still didn't have the Holy Ghost. I still didn't have the speaking in tongues yet. I still didn't have what I was seeking. I was hungry. I mean, man, I was hungry. I knew Joyce that she could speak in tongues. She would get hit with the Holy Spirit, and I wanted it. I got chills so bad right now. I wanted it so bad. And I said, Why can't I get it, Joyce? What am I missing? I'm learning to preach. I'm diving in. She said, You're not surrendering yourself. I said, What do you mean? She goes, You're not seeking God. You need to pray in a quiet place. You and him get together, go off and pray in a quiet place. So I started doing that. I'd go outside on our farm, stars would be up in the sky, and I would literally hit my knees and pray to God, God, change my life. Mold me into the man that you put me here to do. I know I'm not here just to walk the earth and do a job and whatever. I know there's something else you have for my life. I know it's not useless. Do something. I kept praying that, kept praying that. So Joyce said, Jerry, there's gonna be a revival at Great Horror's Church in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She said, Let's go to this revival. And I was like, Really? She's like, Yes, it's gonna be great. I said, okay, let's do it. So my mother, my wife, and my grandma. Now I remember, now my grandpa had already passed away at this point, so we were helping take care of my grandma since he passed away. And this woman was raised Baptist her whole life. Never been to a Pentecostal church. Never, you know, my grandpa, and I'll just say it like this. My grandpa told me it was wrong. He said, That's the devil. That's that's not right. You shouldn't be doing that. I was like, I'm reading it the Bible, grandpa. It's not the devil. For some reason, in his head, speaking in tongues was of Satan. I don't understand why, but anyway, that's just kind of how he was, and that's why we didn't go to the same churches. You know, we kind of split because we felt it was right. We felt that it was right. So anyway, we get to this great Harvest Church, and man, we get there, and you know, the first night the pastor does his thing, and you know, he's doing it, and we were like, okay, cool, it's like a three-night deal. So we went back the next night. And I said, Joyce, I really want the Holy Spirit. She goes, You can get it here. You can get it here, Jared. You just got to surrender yourself. And I will never forget what happened to me. I was sitting midway back in the pews, and I seen this man. I could tell he was struggling. You know, they always ask people to come up front, you know, come up front, you know, an altar call basically is what it's called. And this man was sitting there, never seen this man in my life. Something told my spirit. I just sit there and I was like, what's going on with this man? Something told me, cigarettes and alcohol. And I kept thinking, it was like my voice inside. I was like, Oh, Jerry, that's just you talking. We always play it off, you know. He just kept telling me cigarettes is plaguing this man. And I said, So I just sit back there and I didn't say nothing to my wife or anybody. So everybody kind of went back to their seat except this man. He stood up there. Pastor goes, sir, I see, you know, can you will you tell the church so we can pray for you? What's going on in your life? We can tell you, you know, you got needs. The man put took a pocket of cigarettes out of his pocket, threw them down in the offering plate, said, These are killing me. I want to get off of smoking cigarettes.

SPEAKER_03

That's awesome.

SPEAKER_00

I knew then it wasn't that voice inside of my head that was just me thinking, it was something telling me, a spirit. I said, Okay, this is gonna get real. So I went up there. I started praying, hit my knees. I said, Lord, you I've been told to surrender a hundred percent. I'll tell you what, I'm gonna do more. I'm gonna give you 110.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, okay, so uh we started the laptop and it had two and a half hours left on it, and the laptop just died about 27, 28 minutes in while he's telling his story. So you won't know this because we have a great editor, but this is uh take two, just so the guy can get part one of three. So hang with us, guys.

SPEAKER_03

Take two of Satan trying to take the stakes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Satan is trying. You guys don't understand. We've had two crazy things happen that we couldn't write out.

SPEAKER_00

And it was right at the buildup of the best part.

SPEAKER_01

It was too. So, all right. Well, we're gonna let Preacher Jay I'm gonna get back to it. Get back to it.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna try to remember where I left off.

SPEAKER_03

You were surrendering.

SPEAKER_00

I was surrendering, correct. I said, you know what? I'm gonna give 110%. So I threw myself down, looked up, just put my arms up in the air, was praying. The lady that I was telling you, Joyce, that invited us to this thing, uh, she walked up there beside me, was praying with me. She had not touched me yet, but she was beside me just praying. I I remember opening my eyes for just a second while I was sitting there praying, and I seen my mother, my grandmother, and my wife sitting on the front row. And I shut my eyes and I just gave it all. And Joyce touched my left hand. And as soon as she touched me, it was like a lightning bolt from God hit me. I was just instantly took straight away from where I was. I mean, I literally heard myself start speaking in tongues. You're this is another language that I'm speaking. I'm yelling it out in front of the whole church. I said, and I never I'll never forget the feeling I had. My eyes were closed, but I was looking up and it was like the brightest light. It was so orange and so beautiful. But it I was like, is that the lights of the ceiling? Because I can sit here and talk to myself, but yet I still heard myself speaking in tongues in another engine. I remember Joyce Echo's going, he's got the Holy Ghost, he's getting the Holy Ghost, he's speaking in tongues. I'll never forget her screaming and jumping up and down beside me. But yet in my head, I'm like, where am I at? This sun feels so warm. It was like being on a beach in Florida, just looking at the sun through your eyelids. It was so bright, but I wasn't, it wasn't like I was in my body. It was like, to me, it would almost be at the point of death when you transitioned from this earth to your heavenly body. I felt no pain. I felt no sadness. I honestly felt like I was in Abraham's bosom. I mean, being held there. I'm not kidding you. Wow. It was the most peaceful time that I believe I've ever had in my life was when I started speaking in tongues and knowing I was speaking in tongues and telling myself, oh my God, you just got the Holy Ghost, Jared. And then when I finally shut down, I was just sweating hot. I was just drunk in the spirit. Anybody that's been drunk in the spirit knows how weak you feel. You can't really stand up. I mean, I literally sit there on the ground for probably five or ten minutes trying to just get my strength to go sit back down on the pew. But after that moment, after getting that Holy Spirit, watching my grandmother, the pen of that's a Baptist her whole life, look at me, well, I was like, oh my gosh, seeing my wife that was raised Catholic, watch my mother's face, that I never knew she ever got the Holy Spirit. I knew she'd been, you know, in churches with me her whole life, but I'd never heard her speak in tongues, you know. And for me to get the Holy Spirit in front of all these people that I didn't know, to have a discernment of something telling me something was wrong, was afflicting a man, that his spirit was decaying due to these cigarettes, to get that at that age, at 23 years old, it just opened a whole new world up for me. And with that being said, that's gonna end part one.

SPEAKER_03

Dang it.

SPEAKER_00

So for part two, you've got to come back. Yeah. Wow.

SPEAKER_03

You know what sucks when you're the co-host and you gotta you know you gotta come back for your own.

SPEAKER_00

It's just like the commercials. They build you up and they go to commercials. I know. But yeah, we're gonna dive. Yeah, we'll dive into the second part. And I mean, it only gets deeper from here, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Um maybe a little sneak peek into the second. Where do you want to go? Where do you want to go?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I think I may just let y'all hang for a minute. That's fine. Maybe pray about it. Everybody listening and everybody doing it. Yeah, just pray that it comes. Pray we got time to do it.

SPEAKER_01

And pray that we got enough laptops, yeah. Enough laptops, rechargers, and equipment.

SPEAKER_00

We'll get through it, but yeah, that if it even ends on the second part, if we get to the very end on the second, the second part is really what people need to hear. Okay. That's the part that uh that's the life-changing parts.

SPEAKER_01

I'm super impressed with the first part. Yeah. And the life-changing.

SPEAKER_00

It's all done by God. Yeah. That's it. There's nothing else. There's no other explanation on this earth. Man cannot do what has happened in my life. Man is not capable.

SPEAKER_01

And I was trying to sit there and think, because I'm a person that feels like I always try to listen and hear him speak to me, but what I usually get is I don't get that. I see things happen. Okay. Well, explain that real quick. Well, I was trying, I was sitting there as you were talking, and I was trying to listen and not think, but I I can't right off the top of my head think of like real big prophetic things that happened, but I always go back to conversations like with the other intern. Um, I had it happen with her too, and I can't remember what the conversation was. It's a pretty sore sore, a pretty bad story because I don't remember some of the prophetic times that I had, because I always joke with her and say that I'm a prophet because I I see things that come and things that happen. Like I told you, yeah, that's gonna happen. And I'm not like, you know, yeah, that's a little dad. That's a little dad, too, right? I mean, you're like talking to your kids. No, like seeing things. And I'm gonna go back and try to think about them and pray about them and see if I can't remember some of them and and we can discuss.

SPEAKER_00

I think that's all forms of discernment. I think that's all forms of what I mean, of what we're able to be given, you know. I don't think it's people like I said, people think, you know, maybe that we're strange because it but it's it's written. Young men's will see visions, old or what is it, old men see visions, young men will see dreams. I mean, it's right there in the words, guys.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm not centered like trying to say I'm changing my name, you know, Prophet. Prophet Bobby? Robert Robert the Prophet. Robert the Prophet.

SPEAKER_00

Saint Robert.

SPEAKER_01

Saint Robert St. Robert. No shot. No shot. No shot. But that's just I don't know, when you talk about that, the stuff that you've been through, because my we'll get into my childhood in one of these days, too. Very similar, probably not as baby. Yeah, not as intense, but the alcohol, the drugs, the all the the the you know, abuse, all the things.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it all comes with it. Yeah, but you know what? That's the things that define our lives. That's right. Either you go down the path that you see or you choose the path that you want to be and think that's what makes us who we are. Yeah. We have to go through we have to go through trouble in time. Just like I think it's birth pains. Christ went through what he did for our sins. We are not gonna get through this place scotch-free. You're gonna go through things to to seek his attention.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I have I had Satan try to get my kid, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Like and absolutely, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, it's it's it's real. It is real.

SPEAKER_00

It's real. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_03

God didn't do what happened to Blaze. Like this world did.

SPEAKER_00

And that's what people don't understand. The world doesn't belong to Christ. He owns everything above. Satan owns the world and everything below. God can influence here and do things here, but this is the devil's territory. We're man, we're flesh, we're sinful. This isn't where God dwells. So people have to remember that.

SPEAKER_01

Man, that's a good ending right there. Any final words from stay continued.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, too. Stay tuned.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I appreciate you guys tuning in. Uh, we were kind of looking forward to this, and I I'm guessing he'll want to come back. You want to come back next week? Is that what you think? Yeah, as long as I got stuck. Yeah, as long as I ain't swapped to work. We'll we'll figure it out. Get him back in here next week next week for part two. But we appreciate you guys tuning in. Don't forget to like, subscribe, comment, all those things to make sure you can tune in and catch two. So I appreciate you guys. Robert the realist out.
