I watched the State of the Union last night, and like always, people had strong reactions.

Some loved it.

Some hated it.

Most people picked a side before it even started.

In this episode, I’m not breaking down every policy or arguing politics. I’m talking about what moments like this show us about the country, leadership, and how divided everything feels right now.

What should we actually pay attention to?

How do we stay informed without getting angry?

And how do we keep our character no matter who’s speaking?

Just my honest thoughts.

Real life. Real leadership. No pressure.

Hello, my peoples. Robert the Realist back. With this podcast today, State of the Union. What I saw and what it means. Like most people, I watched State of the Union last night, and always people had strong reactions. Some loved it, some hated it. Most people picked a side before it even started. In this episode, I'm not breaking down every policy or arguing politics. I'm talking about what moments like this show us about the country leadership and how divided everything feels right now. What should we actually pay attention to? How do we stay informed without getting angry? How do we keep our character no matter who's speaking? Just my honest thoughts. Real life, real leadership, no pressure. And I have to tell you guys, I'm doing this from my sauna. So it's about 120 degrees in here. So you know, first thing I'll talk about is what stood out to me. The division. The snarls. The people that are paid to be representing parts of your state that were sleeping, that were yelling. I like the State of the Unions and I always have for the people that are recognized. I think that's a really cool feature of the medals and the honors that are given out, and people who made it through tragic events. And the USA hockey team was there last night and and and one of the medals uh were given to uh the goalie. I mean, just all the all the things like that are pretty cool. And you know, to kind of hear where we're at as far as uh a union, you know, I uh the political theater to me is just asinine. It's crazy. I don't understand it. I don't agree with it. And again, I'm just being a realist here. To watch the way people acted during this State of the Union is embarrassing to the country. And you ask, what do you mean by that? I mean, do you think that you're the only person that watched it? Do you think it's not televised and created as a laughing stock on media across the world as we're trying to unite and become stronger? Just a stronger country that we're not laughed at for people who wear certain colors, for people who have wear lapel pens and and pens that say release the redacted files. I mean, come on, guys, can we just is that really what our what our country is about? Yes, I agree. Those people need to be held accountable, but that's not what this podcast is about. It's about the State of the Union. It's just about I remember when Obama was uh the president, and I don't remember pens and and signs held up and screaming matches happening. And and I'm not saying it didn't happen. But it's just normal people, guys. We should just focus on the uniting, the making our country strong. What can you do? Right? Take action yourself personally. If there's something you disagree with, take action personally. I'm not saying violent action, I'm not saying riots. What can you do to make that better? Can you go to social media and put it on Facebook? Sure, that'd help anything. We figured that out. That just creates more division. The State of the Union is a time for us all to see where we're at in this country. And I'm gonna give you my real opinion. If my member of Congress, in any capacity in the state of Missouri that I'm proud to live in, not proud of the weather, or proud to live in, acted as some of these people did. If they were l little pins like some of these people did, held up silly papers as some of these people did, I'd vote them out. I'm just being real. You don't have to agree on everything, guys. We don't have to. We're not meant to be put on this planet to agree on everything. That's not how it works. That's that's what creates the union, that's what creates community, that's what creates relationships. It's not about agreeing, it's about coming together. I have several friends that I just me and my wife don't agree on everything politically. Me and my wife don't agree on everything politically, but we have conversations about it and we ask questions. She doesn't yell at me, she doesn't throw things at me, she don't divorce me because I don't agree or vice versa. God didn't intend it to be a division, God intended it us to come together. So that's State of the Union. It was great. I loved hearing all the wins. I honestly did. I was the same way with Obama, I was the same way with Bush. I'm not gonna say I was the same way with Biden because we didn't have very many wins. But as long as my country is winning, my business could be could be taxed a lot less. That's that's the one thing I heard him talk about collecting tariff money to hopefully do away with income tax. I want to hold his feet to the fire for that. If he doesn't get that done, I think his his part of his legacy will be will have a pretty big black mark on it, my opinion. He has to do something with the taxes. And I can go over that if we need to, but it's about the State of the Union. It's the one thing I heard him say, because just like you, I wonder where the tariff money goes. Now again, I understand the tariff money also pays down the deficit. We're trillions of dollars in debt. How? Ridiculous amounts of spending. The same people who tell us what to pay, how to pay, when to pay, and if we're late, we get penalized for it is trillion dollars in debt. Give me a second, help me make sense of that. But guys, I think it was great. I think I think it could be done. I think we can act a little more like adults. That's the way I'll put it. But the State of the Union was good. Some of the things that happened, the people that were recognized was good. I I enjoyed seeing those angel moms, I enjoyed seeing the hockey team, I enjoyed seeing the Coast Guard guy who saved all those kids in Texas. I love seeing all that. I love seeing the hundred-year-old veteran, all those things is what it's about. So, and then you know, the wins besides that. And when what's upcoming? So that's my opinion, guys. Robert the Realist, keeping it as real as possible. This is not a political agenda, this is just my opinion. I appreciate you guys tuning in. And uh make sure you subscribe to this channel, that way you can get notified when other podcasts come out. All right, guys, I appreciate you. I love you, Robert the Realist.
