Hey guys. Robert the Real is here.
SPEAKER_00Today we're going to talk about why everything feels so divided right now. It feels like everywhere you look, people are divided.
SPEAKER_01On politics, culture, faith, generations, even families. So what actually is going on in this episode today with Robert the Realist? I step back from the headlines and talk about why everything feels so divided right now and how we can stay grounded in the middle of it. This isn't about picking a side, it's about understanding what division does to people, to communities, and to leadership. We'll talk about outrage, culture, social media, fear, identity, and why calm might be one of the strongest responses available today. You don't have to lose your conviction to keep your character, real life, real business, no pressure. Let's talk about it. The tension everybody's feeling right now. Example. Both just won gold for our country. And we're worried about our FBI director being in the locker room. People for that matter. But why do we have to be so divided about it? It all happens and it it's different today than it was 20-some years ago because of social media. So social media pushes all the outrage cycles and its agenda what you want to see, and you see what you want to see. And I really do try to see from both sides. You know, even take it back to the halftime show of the football, of the Super Bowl. That divided us. I don't understand why it divided us. I've talked about it, I've prayed about it, I've thought about it, I've read about it, and I still don't understand its division and why we decided to divide. Who cares? What halftime show you watch. You want to know why? Who cares? Because social media cares. People choose choose social media as their diary.
SPEAKER_00It's face book, not diary book.
SPEAKER_01When Facebook started, it started in a college. You had to go to that college to get on it, and it was more about face, and then it had you know, your relationship status, etc. etc. You know, I think the biggest problem with us today is fear and uncertainty. And I think we take that to different levels. I'll explain so the division that is being is happening right now comes to people in different levels. What do I mean? I mean the fear that we're gonna rewind and go back to what it was 50, 60, 80, 100 years ago, or the uncertainty of what the future holds for you and your family. But we're we're all leaders and we all lead in some way, whether if you're just a single mom, you're leading, you're leading that child or children. If you are a single dad, you're leading that child, that children. You know, I say children as in plural. If you're a business owner, anywhere, somebody's always watching you, so that leadership and responsibility for you is always there. I think we need to go back to what we used to be pre-social media. I talked about it a little bit in my podcast yesterday, you know, and everything. If if you leaned into everything that you do now, but you took it all away, would you still be the same person? Or you'd be in somebody that you're not. Kind of segue in today's podcast is if you took away that that platform, the social media in this example, to vent on to host your thoughts because you're right, right? That's what you think when you're posting it. Right, wrong, or indifferent, that's when you post it. Trust me, I I there's a lot of Facebook posts that I think about adding and I I may add and I delete, I'm typing and I delete, or I make a comment and I delete. And what I'm trying to do on my social media is be an annoying entrepreneur. That's a joke, but true. And personally, it's some type of God giving, or some type of giving back, or some type of growth, or some type of pick-me-up, or some type of, you know, I get a message every so often from somebody saying, Thank you for that prayer, or thank you for that post, or I needed that today, that is what we should post, or post your pictures of your cute kids and your grandkids, and and your wife and your husband, and be real about it. Don't be fake. All you do and you're fake on that type of stuff is create more division. What do I mean by that? So if I if you go on there and you put out this perfect family that you you know want everybody to think that you are, but deep down you're not, and you know you're not, don't post it. You're creating a division in another home of somebody that thinks, oh well, look, I told you they got it perfect, or look, why does he do that for her, or why does she do that for him?
SPEAKER_00Get it? I know you see it. So let's knock off the division.
SPEAKER_01Let's get back to what we were pre-social media, because I think that's where the division comes from, is social media, my personal opinion. It is a post that is racially driven, it is a post that makes you look like something that you're not. It's a post that's not really you, but you're trying to make it you to fit somebody else's narrative or somebody else's business.
SPEAKER_00Get back to being real. I appreciate you guys for tuning in. Hopefully, you get something from this.
SPEAKER_01I truly believe the division can be fixed in humanity, civilization can be put back together, but it's gonna take a large majority of us. And if you felt this podcast, then that means I'm talking to you. That's I'm talking to me. I'm talking to me, trust me, I'm talking to me too. I get the same feelings about posting stuff, I get the same feelings about reading social media, I get the same mirror the same feelings when I watch the same TV news outlets. Stop trying to do less of all the time, trust me. Because if you can't figure that one out yet, we need to talk because they're gonna have you fit. I don't care if you watch Fox, CNN, doesn't matter. They're gonna brainwash you with whatever narrative you want. You do your own investigation, you do your own looking into, you read your own stuff to make sure you know what you're talking about before you go out there and post it. So all right, guys. Well, I'd have appreciate you tuning in again. Again, this is not political, this is not more division, this is my thought on it and what I think we can do to help it. So I appreciate you guys. I really do. I love you guys. Robert the realist out.
