The Gideon Fleece: When You Need Direction from God

Have you ever found yourself facing a decision and wondering whether you are truly hearing from God?

In this opening episode of The Gideon Fleece, we begin our journey through the story of Gideon and explore the circumstances that led to one of the most well-known acts of seeking God's direction in Scripture.

Before there was a fleece, there was a nation in crisis. Israel had drifted away from God and found itself living under oppression, fear and uncertainty. Yet even in the middle of their struggle, God was preparing to raise up a deliverer.

Together, we'll explore the historical context of Gideon's story, the spiritual lessons hidden within Israel's experience, and why understanding the background is essential if we are to fully appreciate the significance of the fleece.

Whether you're seeking guidance, wrestling with uncertainty, or simply wanting to deepen your understanding of God's Word, this study will help you see how God works even in seasons of difficulty and confusion.

Scripture Focus: Judges 6

Key Question: What do we do when we need God's direction but cannot yet see His plan?

Join us as we begin this powerful journey of faith, discernment and obedience.

Seek. Discern. Obey.

Hello, and welcome to the Gideon Fleece Bible study. Now I don't know about you, but there have been times in my life when I have needed a sure and certain word from the Lord. It could be about a decision that I was about to take, or it could have been about a step that I want to make, but I'm not sure. And I've needed to know that if I make this step or take this decision, that it is in line with the word of God. And so this Bible study is for anyone who is facing that type of dilemma where you have a feeling or you have an instinct, but you need clarity. And you need, therefore, before you make that decision or step, you need an answer from God that must be unmistakable. So we're going to go into the word of God and we're going to be looking at Judges chapter 6 and verses 36 to 40, New International Version. And it says, Gideon said to God, If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have promised, look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece, and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said. And that is what happened. Gideon rose early the next day. A bowl full of water. Then Gideon said to God, Do not be angry with me. Let me make just one more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece. And if you're taking notes, then that should be a line that you underline and high highlight. Allow me one more test with the fleece. With the fleece. But this time, make the fleece dry and let the ground be covered with dew. Verse 40. That night God did so. Here's another thing to underline in your study. That night God did so. Only the fleece was dry, all the ground was covered with dew. We're getting ready to go into this amazing and insightful study. Welcome to the Gideon Fleece.
