And hello there and welcome back. We're loving it hanging out with y'all, and we're glad that y'all came to hang out with us. You just tuned into Brothers Just Talking. Well, we give you a little peep of what it's like to hang out with the brothers at the barbershop or on the golf course or in the gym where the brothers are talking and laying it down. The first thing I want to do is give a shout-out to all our new subscribers. We love y'all and we appreciate y'all.
Appreciate you taking the time. Let's give it up to them, fellas. Let's give it up to them for taking the time, your specific time you took, to log in, hang out with us, and enjoy the conversation. A few of you even went so far as to leave comments. And I gotta give it up to my boy at StrifeFresh 3998. Now,
I don't know why you couldn't come up with something a little easier, but I got it. I got it. Remember the little hot takes we were taking? And we were going with the Jay-Z Drake thing or the Kendrick Drake thing? Well, he says, Drake claims he studied rap battles for a living, and these are the results. So if you study rap battles for a living, as far as I'm sitting looking at it, he's getting taken down by Kendrick.
E. (01:27.576)
you
Harv C (01:33.689)
right now. So we need to get some gloves and get back in the gym. But that's only half seeds of pain. What you think, funky one?
Da Funky One (01:37.216)
Got spanked. Got spanked. He got spanked, man. It's just plain and simple. I mean, I had a guy had another had another listener they replied like they they they still bump Drake Drake all day. I'm like, y'all can listen to Drake, but you know, he got he got body. That's just what it is.
Harv C (01:42.723)
He got spike. He got spike.
Harv C (01:56.355)
And it and you know what? And it happens to the best of us. Cause I had to even let my boy Blue know. I mean embody this boy on Renegade. But I still think but but I still think, and this is my opinion, I still think that Jay is way better than him, but embodied that booty on on Renegade. He got him, he got him, it is what it is. Well look, let let me let me let me stop with the jokes.
Bleue (02:16.496)
Hehehehehe
Archie Beslow (02:24.104)
Thank
Harv C (02:25.292)
And I want to get serious because today is very, very special, everybody. We got our first guest on Brothers Just Talking. And fellas, we want to take some time. If you're from the DMV and you've been to a live event, festival, concert over the last few years, there's a good chance you've seen or at least heard about the black print Experience. Our guest is the founder.
visionary and driving force behind one of the area's hottest lot of bands. He built more than a band. He created a movement that celebrates live music. Lord don't we love some live music cause for a while we wasn't getting much of it in black culture, and he brings people together through incredible performances, whether it's RB, funk, soul, jazz, probably throw a little go-go in there too.
Or putting on a show that leaves the audience wanting more. His miss mission has always been to keep it real with music, musicianship love, keeping it alive, and create experiences for everybody to just get down. Today, he's here with the brothers to join the conversation as our special guest. Plus, we're gonna talk about his journey, what inspired him to create the Black Print Experience, the current state of live music.
E. (03:23.732)
Okay.
Harv C (03:49.283)
and what it takes to build a successful band and what's next for him in the movement he's leading. BJT family, do us a favor and let's give a warm Brothers Just Talking welcome to the one and the only, Mr. Archie Beslove.
E. (03:59.188)
you
Archie Beslow (04:07.618)
What do you what do you do fellas? Yes, yes.
Let's go guys
Harv C (04:15.798)
Arch what's going on, Arch? How you feeling, brother?
Da Funky One (04:17.3)
All right.
Bleue (04:19.334)
Alright, alright, alright.
Archie Beslow (04:20.931)
I feel like I'm on TV with my family,
Harv C (04:22.092)
Hey
We got a legend on here today. So and so we just gonna enjoy it. All of y'all here in the DMV area, y'all know we got a legend in the house. And Arch, we want you to participate in these various things that we're talking about. No why? Because it's like you in the shop with us. And don't hold nothing back. Don't be scared, okay? We don't hold nothing back, and we want you to bring it just like we be bringing it, okay?
Da Funky One (04:44.033)
I like to say
Archie Beslow (04:44.054)
Haha!
Archie Beslow (04:47.893)
Rage!
Da Funky One (04:52.406)
But but I wanna jump in here real quick. Not just D V man, he's all over the country touring.
Archie Beslow (04:57.183)
Yeah.
Harv C (04:57.346)
That's true, that's true, and that's my bad on that. That's my bad on that, bruh. That's right. Harv C you must c he said it. It is. Yeah, it is, bruh. It is. Yeah, you do, you do. You guys got some knowledge, man. So the first thing we want to kick off, and we always break off into a sports subject, the first things that we always kick off. Now, before we get rolling, I know last week was the NBA draft. And
Archie Beslow (05:06.155)
We got the mileage.
Da Funky One (05:07.484)
Yeah.
E. (05:17.585)
If.
Harv C (05:27.552)
For those people that are checking us out from the DMV, they really hyped on what's going on because they had the number one draft pick. And we are going to get into that in future episodes. probably our next one, matter of fact. And by that time, it'll be free agent season, and we'll have more seasoning with that to bring you. But today, we're going to talk about a brother who was on air and he dropped the F-bomb.
E. (05:37.777)
you
Harv C (05:55.597)
And the brothers still got his job. So y'all might be wondering who this was. Eagles legend, Hughes Douglas, who's in the Eagles Hall of Fame, dropped the F-bomb last week when he was defending Jalen Hurts. And so the first thing I want to throw out to the brothers is the dis disrespect for Jalen Hurts finally too much. So the first person I'm gonna throw this to.
I gotta throw this to my brother from Mount Airy, cause he can handle this type of thing. The funky one, kick us off on this one, man. How do you feel? Is it legit or what? Take over from here, man.
Da Funky One (06:39.114)
You know what, honestly, us being from Philly, you know, me being from Philly, I'm used to it. So, you know, I'm I'm glad people are hating, because hating, when you when people hate on you, you play better. That's my my opinion. So, I mean, and do I think it's I mean, you got a lot of people that love, I love Hurts, you know, but but the reality of it is, man, not just Hurts, man, it's a lot of our quarterbacks.
they hate on. You know what I mean? Because, you know, they don't fit into a certain mode. Because everyone's trying to get Hurts to kind of be like the like the quarterback that everyone expects them to be. But the reality is what's more important? Stats or winning. You know what I mean?
Harv C (07:17.464)
That's a good point, bruh.
Da Funky One (07:19.006)
So I mean, so if you might not like the way he is because you can't really put him in a box in a in in a little box and he's not playing the way you like him to play, but we gotta give him credit. Man has had every year of his life since he's been playing almost a new offensive coordinator. You know what I'm saying?
Harv C (07:32.696)
Wow, that's right. And this goes back to college. This goes back to college.
Da Funky One (07:36.98)
Yeah. So you got some every every single year you gotta change up and in the fact that he's being as successful as he is and constantly have to change up, I gotta give him his cr his props. But I understand why people are the way they are. They're not gonna give you credit. And and and and truth be told, it's just the way it is.
Harv C (07:54.689)
I I'm gonna kick it to E right now. And and now E, you with the Commanders, so don't come up with the ego hate. I want you to come with some objectivity, okay? I I'm just telling it like it is.
E. (08:15.95)
One is that I agree with the fact that Hurts, in terms of the criticism of Jalen Hurts, he's a little better than an average quarterback. A little better.
Harv C (08:32.408)
just a little better, right?
E. (08:33.815)
just a little better than the average quarterback. What? yeah, yeah, I'm about to drop down some facts and stats. Let's look at the stats. According to ESPN, that man is ranked number 16 of all quarterbacks, 2025. In which, in which, that Matthew Stafford is number one, Jared Golf number two, that Prescott is number three. That.
Harv C (08:35.844)
Okay. Okay. Go ahead, bro. You entitled to your opinion. Go ahead.
Harv C (08:50.998)
Okay.
Da Funky One (08:51.84)
That's crazy though.
E. (09:03.341)
Prescott is number three over Jalen. You got Drake May. I give it Drake May. Drake May had a great year. You got Sam Donald. You got Trevor Lawrence. Come on, man. Trevor Lawrence. Trevor Lawrence is over him in 2025 and turns to the right.
Harv C (09:20.876)
Now now are you are now so when you say that like that, check this out E, when you say that like that, are you saying it like you can't believe it or you pumpin' that Trevor Lawrence is holding it down over him?
E. (09:30.506)
I can't believe it with the eye test, I can't believe it. But with the stats, stats don't like eye. Yeah. Stat. Yeah, stat. So being that said, know, Jalen Hurts is really, he's a system quarterback. He's not a quarterback that's gonna go out there and be Superman. He's just a system quarterback. He goes with the system. If you take him out and plug him in another team,
Harv C (09:35.2)
Okay, I'm with you. All right. Well, I got something for you with them daggone stats. I got something for that, but go ahead. Go ahead, bruh.
Harv C (09:51.352)
Show me.
E. (09:59.211)
he might not play that well. Now he had a great team, Saquon, well put together. And reason why I say he's a system quarterback is you take any one of those quarterbacks on that top five and plug them into that same system and they win the same way. They win. They're gonna win. Because he didn't really, he didn't do too much to put them over the top. But let's call it for spade for spade. Saquon is the reason why
Harv C (10:18.805)
Da Funky One (10:19.414)
See, I I disagree with you.
Harv C (10:21.54)
I t kick it to him. Kick it.
E. (10:29.31)
They got where they got. No Saquon Barkley, no championship. So let's not pretend that Saquon didn't have a big role in y'all winning. He had a huge role. He had a major, monumental role. So that's why I say Jalen Hurts is a little bit above an average quarterback and whatever.
Da Funky One (10:34.784)
But see the but see, you know what? This is this is
But this is where I disagree with you though. This is where because okay.
Harv C (10:51.94)
Okay, that's that's your point. That's your point there. So I want you to hold there, E. I you I want you to hold right there, E, and I'm gonna bring I wanna bring our guests in. I wanna bring I wanna bring our guests in. Okay? I wanna bring our guests in and give him an opportunity to get his opinion. Then we're gonna come back to you, big game James, Da Funky One Cause I know Bleue don't really rock real tough on all of this sport stuff. So I mean I'm just calling it like I I'm yeah, he's he's gonna tell you he good.
E. (10:59.114)
Really huge.
Bleue (11:16.239)
I'm good
Bleue (11:21.697)
I'm good.
Harv C (11:21.74)
So that's why that so that's why I'm a bring that's why I'm bringing our guest in. So Arch, okay, you done traveled, you've been all around the country, all around the world. Talk to us and and and let us know how what you feel about this particular conversation as it relates to Jalen Hurts.
Archie Beslow (11:39.442)
So I'm big on backstories, man. I love the course that he took from college up until where he is now. I love the fact that he has his management team is women. I love the fact that he stays out of trouble. And he was a main contributor to Philly. He changed the whole scope of how the Philly team look. He's a decent looking dude, positive professional type quarterback. And he works at the end of the day in life.
Harv C (12:00.697)
Yep.
Archie Beslow (12:07.927)
All the great people that do great things people always try to take shots that guy controlled that team. He was hurt. He played through her He didn't get in no trouble, you know, he was the anchor of that team now Saquon I'll give you what you're saying credit about Saquon But without you have to have a leader in order for other people to be great So his leadership is the reason why Saquon is doing what he's doing because the quarterback controls the team So if your leadership is good
E. (12:09.033)
.
Harv C (12:14.54)
Wow.
Harv C (12:35.852)
A
Archie Beslow (12:37.382)
The other body of land is going to be free.
Harv C (12:41.538)
And you know what, you know what I gotta say to what you're saying? and you made some good points. So I'm not gonna try to slam like you didn't drop like you didn't drop any knowledge, because you definitely dropped some points. But now I want to counter some of those. As great as Saquon was, Saquon was put on lockdown in that Super Bowl. And the Super Bowl MVP was Jason Jake Jalen Hurts. Also, in addition to that Super Bowl.
E. (12:41.551)
. you
Archie Beslow (12:48.144)
For sure. For sure.
Harv C (13:08.618)
Saquon wasn't the whole squad like you trying to paint. That defense was the number one D in the freaking league. And we devastated Patrick Mahomes that game and stayed in them. And as far as that group of quarterbacks that you ran down to me, the only one I heard with a Super Bowl was Matt Stafford, okay? And what are we paying these quarterbacks all this money for anyway? We paying them to frickin' win. Okay? So I don't care what your stats are.
That's me. If you're pulling out the W's, I'm with you. And plus, let's be real. All the stuff that he went through with AJ Brown, but everybody crying about with the AJ Brown chumpy. This was over a side piece, fellas. Come on, man. That's really what it was about. And they start that started their beef. Grady.
E. (13:58.317)
Allegedly allegedly that's alleged
Harv C (14:04.583)
yeah, yeah, allegedly. Thanks, thanks for protecting the show, bruv. Thanks for protecting the show. Thanks for protecting the show, bruv. I love you, E. I might take 10 off of that C note for that, okay? Thanks for protecting the show, E. Allegedly, yes, yes, sir, yes, sir.
E. (14:08.257)
Alleged. That was an allegation. Alleged. Alleged. Yes.
Bleue (14:21.097)
No!
Archie Beslow (14:24.77)
Good.
Harv C (14:30.06)
Yeah, yes, sir. I I appreciate that. I I appreciate that one hundred percent. You're right. It was alleged. And I don't wanna be out of the box somewhere where I don't need to be. I wanna get I wanna move on a little bit in this particular conversation. Okay. Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We speaking, babe.
E. (14:35.895)
you
Da Funky One (14:46.186)
Can I can I say something real quick, Hart?
So to me, so to reply back, to reply back to what E said, every quarterback, every person in the team, you you play with who you have. You know, you can't get mad at somebody because they got a decent squad. You know what I mean? So you play because you got quarterbacks who won and didn't really have a decent squad. But it just it just is what it is. But I'm saying, but you can't get mad at the guy because he he got that the general manager put together a decent squad for you to play with.
Harv C (14:58.956)
That's true.
Harv C (15:02.988)
Bye.
Harv C (15:15.116)
Hey, hey, look, if we talking like that, and I hate to do this because this dude's a brother, but Lamar ain't came through in Baltimore, man for man, person to person, up and down their roster, they should have had a Super Bowl by now. Cause they got a killer squad. That's right. That's right. And and and and Dak.
Da Funky One (15:28.598)
Dak should have had a super bowl by now. Dak should have had a super bowl.
Harv C (15:34.338)
With all this talk down here in Dallas, like the way they like to run their freaking mouth. He still ain't he putting up crazy stats. He got a great offense. He had a crazy defense a couple years ago. Okay? They was picking off passes, running stuff back. Parsons was sacking people like crazy. They still got bumped in the freaking first round or second round or whatever. They didn't get to the bowl. All the years that Dak has been playing, I think he got two playoff wins. So I don't want to hear this about
Jalen Hurts, nope, he's not flashy, he's not fancy, and he's dealt with a lot. The point, the next point I want to make, and then we're going to close out this particular area, move to another area. Hugh Douglas went off. For those of you who have not seen the clip, and we didn't get the rights ahead of time to run the clip, go out there to YouTube. He was on WIP Radio, and he basically said.
I'm freaking tired of talking about this freaking subject because it's getting on my freaking nerves. Something to that effect, pretty much. And you can put what you want and put there for the F bomb. I'm keeping this show clean because I know we have some youngins who like to watch this show too. And and to hear and hear us pontificate about sports. Now, so my question that I'm gonna throw out to you about you, Douglas, was Hugh Douglas speaking as a fan or someone who understands.
what it takes to win. I'm gonna throw this out to our guests. Arch, what you feel about that?
Archie Beslow (17:02.519)
But I think it's both. think, you know, Hugh is a guy that got history with the program and you know, sports is very emotional anyway. So oftentimes we say something from an emotional standpoint and we don't get our point across. He's thinking he's getting his point across, but sometimes our emotion go past the point and it makes it bigger than what it is.
Harv C (17:18.446)
Well
Harv C (17:24.12)
That's true. That's true. before we move on to our next subject, I'm gonna hit y'all with a quickie. go ahead. Somebody wanna E, you wanna come in? Come on in, baby. Come on in.
E. (17:28.382)
Let me add to Let me add to that. Yeah, let me add. So the Hugh Douglas F-bomb tirade or whatever, it was really more of he was trying to prove a point in which they were talking about a situation where it should the quarterback get the accolades or should team because he did mention there was a situation.
Harv C (17:51.716)
Ws.
E. (17:56.096)
where Donald from McNabb was during the time and you know, he should take the blame and should be a team game. Come on, this is football. If the quarterback wins, the quarterback gets the accolade. The quarterback loses, the quarterback gets, he gets the accolade. He gets blamed and he also gets whatever comes with the L's. So for him to be going off like that, off the fact that, well, you know, he should have been getting all the glory. Yes, he should. Same thing, if Hurts wins, Hurts gets the glory. Hurts lose.
Harv C (18:08.58)
Well that's that's true. That's true, E. That's true.
Harv C (18:16.194)
That's true, bruh.
Harv C (18:23.404)
Yes.
E. (18:26.047)
He gets the criticism. That is just football in which if you're the quarterback, you're the leader, it comes with the territory. So I totally disagree with his tirade going off about if the team should take it, if the team shouldn't take it.
Harv C (18:41.038)
Now now do you know now hold up, hold up, E. E., do you know his position? His position was that the quarterback should get the credit for the W and the quarterback should get the L for the loss. It was the other guy sitting across from him, Joe Gillio, who really a Giants fan on the low, and he tried to play it like he's an Eagle fan up there in Philly. He was the one that says he doesn't think that quarterbacks games are win and loss stat like it is for
pitcher like it for like it is for pitchers in baseball. And my argument if I was able to call in and talk to him would have been look, there are days that pitchers get their butt hit all around, but if their team scores a lot of ones, they still get the win. And it's D his games they go out there and they shut somebody down, but if the other pitcher shuts them down better, he gets a loss. It's the same way with the quarterbacks in the NFL. Quarterback wins and losses is a stat. What you say, E?
E. (19:30.683)
If you look at it, if you look at it.
If you look at the tape, he was making his mentions, from what I observed and what I analyzed in it, he was really more talking about if the team should take a hit in terms of the quarterback taking all the accolades, stuff like that. And the guy kept on saying, amen. Hugh Douglas was telling his story because he played the game at a high level and he played with Donovan.
Harv C (19:51.938)
You talking Joe Gillio. That's how Gillio that's how Gillio was trying to hit him.
Harv C (20:01.293)
Yes, yes, yes. At the highest level.
E. (20:05.211)
Yeah, Donovan was a good quarterback. Let's just say that. Donovan was a good quarterback. He wasn't the best, but he was a good quarterback. He got you guys to the finals. Now after the finals, that's it. He got you out there and that was it. But he good quarterback. So basically I disagree with his little target and I understand the Jaylen Hurts situation, but look, Jaylen Hurts is a system quarterback in which he's a little bit above average.
Harv C (20:11.01)
Yeah y yeah, he was.
Archie Beslow (20:26.221)
you Thank you.
E. (20:34.588)
He had a problem with AJ Brown in terms of he's not throwing him the ball. He wasn't throwing the ball like he was supposed to. He didn't want to throw it into a kite situation. That's what the staff is saying that he doesn't want to throw it into a kite situation. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, so, hurt is the best system for that full time is Tom Brady. Period. Period. Period. It's not even a disaster.
Harv C (20:37.716)
Hmm.
Harv C (20:44.782)
Very true. Ver very very true. Very very true what you're saying. Yeah, and and it very true. Well
Archie Beslow (20:55.372)
Okay.
Harv C (20:58.832)
I w I no, he might be right about that. Well, Tom Brady was a system quarterback. He was a system quarterback I I think for the first four Super Bowls. Four four right.
Bleue (20:59.756)
You
E. (21:04.955)
So calling your boy a system quarterback is not a downgrade, it's just the fact that's what he is. He's a system quarterback. You dig what I'm saying? You plug him nowhere else.
Archie Beslow (21:09.804)
Thank
Harv C (21:12.802)
Well, I'ma say this. I wanna make two points. I wanna make two points, and then we're gonna move on off of the subject. Two points. Tom Brady was probably a system quarterback the first three, four Super Bowls. And after that, especially, especially that year when he got Randy Moss in them, and even though they lost, he wasn't a system quarterback no more. He was lighting you up. And and then
E. (21:27.065)
He is you!
E. (21:34.437)
No, no, no, no, no, no,
Harv C (21:38.617)
Well, I just I disagree. I disagree with you, bruh. Because you don't throw 55 touchdowns. You don't set the NFL record for touchdown passes as a system quarterback. And he proved, let me finish E. E. Let me finish. Hey, just let me finish my point. And I'm gonna give it back to you. He left New England in that system, went to Tampa Bay, and they played a different style. Their style was go deep, go deep, go deep. They brought my man in the crazy dude. They used to play with Pittsburgh, and I can't think of his name, AM Brown. And
Archie Beslow (21:43.817)
Thanks.
E. (21:46.82)
When a good, when a good.
E. (22:03.446)
Ow. Ow. Ow.
Harv C (22:07.906)
He flourished in that system. So let me tell you he wasn't a system quarterback. I'ma give you one more I'm I'll give you I'll give you a chance to retort and then I gotta move on ace, okay? Go ahead.
E. (22:11.482)
Okay. One, is most definitely a system quarterback. And this is not taking anything away from the man's accolade. Because you're a system quarterback, doesn't mean you're not a bad quarterback. It's just that certain systems go with you. Now, he won in New England and he won with that coach.
Harv C (22:21.687)
E, go ahead.
E. (22:41.343)
in New England with his system. When he left New England and went to Tampa Bay, he took that system, went over there, got Grunk to join the team, got another guy to join the team in which it fixed his system. The coach had to readjust his system to Tom Brady, and that's the reason why they were as successful as they were. So he fixed the quarterback.
Harv C (22:59.022)
Well, it was it it it it actually it actually was both. It it was actually both. They blended, they blended what he was already doing, and they did incorporate some of the things that Brady liked to do. Let me move, let me move on. Quick this is a quick hitter, and and and this will be our last go with this. If you're starting a franchise, I'm gonna give you five quarterbacks and y'all just give me one name, who you started with.
E. (23:10.349)
That's what we're doing.
Harv C (23:28.386)
And then we're gonna throw it out to our audience and have them throw in who would they start with? So if you're starting your franchise, starting your franchise, your first pick is Patrick Mahomes. You got Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Jalen Hurts. The funky one. Come in here, tell me who you taking out of those five dudes off the top.
Archie Beslow (23:46.371)
Thank you.
Da Funky One (23:51.51)
hurts, man. Hurts.
Harv C (23:54.102)
Okay. Yeah okay, we got one vote. We got one book for Hurts. E, who you taking? E, who you taking?
E. (23:54.657)
YOOOO
Da Funky One (23:58.023)
He said boo.
Bleue (23:58.399)
you
E. (24:01.888)
You know what? I like those five deaths you put in there, so that's gonna be a hard one. I'm definitely not taking hurts. The guy that I will really take, Patrick Mahomes. I'm taking Patrick.
Harv C (24:09.559)
Okay.
Harv C (24:15.336)
And E it's so rare that I agree with you, man. But I do agree with you. I'm taking Patrick Mahomes too. Because 'cause just how he's played, how he's come through. We want our guest to come in and give his give his feeling. Arch, who you taking out of them five dudes, man?
Archie Beslow (24:32.67)
I gotta take the golden shot. I gotta take Pat,
Da Funky One (24:35.722)
Ha ha ha.
Harv C (24:36.194)
Yeah, I gotta take Pat too. I'm not I'm not even gonna work the little I'm not gonna even work the little Homer move because I mean I love Hurts more than I like him. But you know, it is what it is. Now, Da Funky One, I'm gonna let you transition us into our next segment. And our next segment is gonna incorporate a lot of our guests. So take it from here. Take it from here, big game.
E. (24:36.534)
All day. All day.
Da Funky One (25:05.366)
So this one, you know, I I'm thinking about like people always say trust your gut. Others say believe, be believe people's actions. not your feelings, but believe your actions. And so what's more important in a relationship? What you feel or what you actually see? That's that's my that's my question.
Harv C (25:26.702)
Well if you talk to Aretha, she's gonna say, giving him something he can feel And I think most of us feel like that, okay? Let me throw it back to you, man.
Da Funky One (25:32.054)
Well
Da Funky One (25:38.142)
So so so have so like have you ever assumed like like your partner was cheating on you? Like so, you know, is that is that because of insecurity? You know, were you completely wrong when you thought that? You know? and and is it part of past trauma? Like sometimes stuff happens to you in the past that make you kind of like believe that somebody's doing something. They might not be doing anything, but you just have that because you got burnt before.
Harv C (25:46.689)
Ooh.
Harv C (26:00.767)
I I Wow.
Da Funky One (26:06.88)
You just assume everybody else is that way. You know, so and I so then you start arguing over stuff. And then and as part of your arguing, is it like in your head, is your are you imagining these things, or is it actually real? So like do you like when you trust your gut? That's that's my thoughts right there. So like have your, you know, so my question to all you guys is, have your feelings ever ruined a good relationship?
Harv C (26:31.628)
All right, we're gonna throw this out to Blue first, and then we want our because Blue, you be quiet today. You know, when we do the sports stuff, you almost get it's almost like we throwing you in a freaking cage, okay? You in the shop with us, but it's like we got you in a cage or something, and all they see is your hat down over your eyes and be like, what is he even on there for? So I'm gonna throw this to you, man, and let you take over. And after that, I'm gonna open the floor to our guests.
Bleue (26:48.375)
Hehehehehe
Harv C (26:58.124)
And then I want E you to come in and then I just got a couple jump shots, I'ma shoot on it, man. Go ahead, Blue.
Bleue (27:03.061)
Alright, alright bet. Hey, so just to jump it just to jump it on your last franchise your last franchise Question I'm gonna go with Joe Namath I'm gonna go with Joe Namath
Harv C (27:10.046)
yeah yeah.
man, you go with your that's so that's the last time you really followed the sport, huh? That's the last time you followed the free look, I'm a Joe Woolley fan too, but that's the last time you followed the sport?
Da Funky One (27:12.864)
But it
E. (27:13.22)
Hey
There!
Da Funky One (27:17.967)
Okay, yeah.
E. (27:20.407)
You're lit! You're lit!
Da Funky One (27:24.49)
What? Tony he wasn't even he wasn't even part of the five.
Bleue (27:24.626)
Hey, you, you, doesn't matter. Hey, it doesn't matter. None of them people on that five I agree with. Cause I was like, nah, I ain't feeling none of them. I ain't feeling none of them.
Harv C (27:28.14)
He wasn't even part of the five.
Da Funky One (27:33.108)
my god.
Harv C (27:33.154)
You know what, you know what yeah, hold up. Before we go further before we go further, you know what Bleue sounds like? When I was when I was in MPD, I was in a fantasy football league, right? The first year we did it, this dude drafted
Bleue (27:38.801)
You
Harv C (27:46.233)
Harold Carmichael. And this is like the year 2000. Okay. Okay. So that's what this sounds like him going back to Joe Navis right now. Okay. I mean, I hope that I hope you ain't drinking or tipping or a little something in there. I know the hat is down over the odds per usual. Go but go, but go ahead. But let's bring it back in to what Da Funky One dropped out to us. And go ahead. I want you to take it from there. Go ahead.
Bleue (27:52.762)
Hehehehehe
Bleue (28:03.405)
It would've been... It would've been... It would've been...
Bleue (28:10.811)
So this one.
So this one, it's, man, feelings over what you see, that's deep, man. You know what I'm saying? That's deep because the two go hand in hand. And the reason why I say that is because it's not, sometimes the weight is heavy on us as the dudes. You know I'm saying? It's heavy on us, because when we feel like we,
Archie Beslow (28:20.34)
Thank
Bleue (28:43.037)
we may have found the right one and then, you know, it doesn't go the way we expect it to go or the feelings are reciprocated the same way, you know, then we tend to, we tend to sway, we tend to drift. And that's because once again, know, all, you fellas, always gonna hear me say this, are mental, men are physical.
Harv C (29:12.301)
Mm.
Bleue (29:12.877)
It's in our nature and I hate to say that. when I say I hate to say that, it's not me saying that, okay, it's a go-to thing, but it's just our nature, man. And I mean, every man, and I'm gonna say this, I'm gonna speak for all men. Every man goes through these type of things. Whether or not you are man's mans or however you brought up, whatever, whatever.
We all go through this, man. it's, I'm gonna say these, I'm gonna say they kind of go hand in hand, man. And when we not feeling it, sometimes we'll stay in it just to see if we can make it change. And then sometimes we just be like, yo, I'm out.
Harv C (29:47.284)
Yeah.
Harv C (29:56.835)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I wanna add to this and then I'm gonna throw it to Arch. our female viewers and listeners that are out there, we really need y'all on this, okay? We need y'all to come in, send your comments. Obviously, we want you to subscribe and like, but we want your comments on this. And we probably will do a follow up episode to this at some point, and we're gonna have a lady panel or a group of women because I
You're getting a one-sided barbershop look, and after all, this is like the black man's country club. So it is gonna be that look. But I don't think it's always fair if we don't give our ladies who are out there the opportunity. So don't give us the hate mail, okay, on the comments. We're gonna give y'all the opportunity to get your yayas off, okay? Let's move it on to Arch. Arch, talk to us. Because I I I in in in some sense, this may be a subject's.
that's near to you and I'm gonna open up the floor to you to see how you, you know, wanna speak on it, bruh.
Archie Beslow (31:02.695)
So it's a very touching subject. So as you get older as men, we look at things different. As you come along and like the majority of things you do is from emotions. But when you get older, it's actions, whole action speak louder than words. So me and my lady, we big on communicating. So at end of the day, if one of us feels in a certain way, I want us to talk about it based off of that action.
not based off the feel So if her and I are feeling a different way, we're gonna bring our feelings together via conversation. So we let the feelings connect with the conversation. That's how you get the real. A lot of us play scenarios in our head. know, if I'm feeling it, I know he's doing it. If I'm feeling it, I know she's doing it. But that's not the actual factual. The actual factual is don't trip until you get the facts. Prior to the facts,
E. (31:52.428)
you
Archie Beslow (32:00.889)
Let's have a conversation about it. Now also the conversation will be consistent with the actions because if you really feel something based off of the conversation, it's going to validate if your feelings are true or not.
Bleue (32:13.664)
Well, let me jump in on that Arch. Hold up, hold up. Let me jump in on that real quick Arch. Because what I want to piggyback off of that is, is a lot of times when we come real with our feelings, it needs to be reciprocated. Because you might be like, and Arch, I'm with you all the way on this because communication is huge, man. You need that. When you respect a person,
Harv C (32:14.434)
Very good. Go ahead, Blue. Go ahead, baby. Go ahead, man.
Bleue (32:39.232)
once again, it comes back to that expectancy where you expect them to respect your feelings too. So when you're having these conversations, if you got a shorty or a young lady or a lady that you wit, where you be like, hey yo, I'm gonna bring it to you like this, and I'm gonna respect your feelings, and I'm gonna expect the same way back from you. So if I say something, I don't want you to take it this way, because I'm giving it to you straight, no chaser. Same way, if you give it to me, I'm gonna take it.
E. (32:40.812)
you
E. (33:05.586)
Okay.
Bleue (33:05.807)
as you give it to me because it's, you know, it's unfiltered. I'ma take it and I'ma respect you for that. Not a lot of people can do that, man, because when you come straight like that, they think there's something else behind it. And I'm like, nah, if you tell me you feel this way, then I'ma respect that. But on the flip side, if I'm telling you this is how I'm feeling, you gotta respect that too. Don't knock a brother for what I'm telling you and I'm not gonna knock you from what you're telling me.
Archie Beslow (33:31.251)
But so what you say in Bleue and I say this all the time when you buy a car if there's a manual in that glove compartment And we're gonna say relationship if I'm dating you and I'm telling you what my manual is read my manual So go back what my manual was telling you because I'm you how I move Don't base my manual off the other dudes manual that you used to use because it's two different vehicles So we have to learn as a people is let's trust
Bleue (33:45.51)
Mm-hmm.
Bleue (33:48.988)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Previous cats, yep. Yep, previous cats.
Archie Beslow (34:00.895)
until you can't trust. Let's read the manual. And if you don't understand the manual, let's sit down and talk with the curator of the manual so you can get a good understanding. If you don't like what's in the manual, how the vehicle works, then go buy another car. It's just that simple. None of us should be put in a situation where we gonna stick some out to figure it out. Well, we already know that it's not gonna be figured out because you're not reading the manual.
Harv C (34:07.636)
Yeah.
Bleue (34:25.98)
Right, right.
Archie Beslow (34:28.4)
You're trying to put stuff together without reading the instructions and it's not going to work. But the people talk about communication. That's a cliche word, but it's super important. The definition of communication is to keep talking about it till we get some type of resolve. Communication does not be answered. You just keep getting all the information, all the information, all the information. Then once both parties got enough information to resolve the problem, then it should be resolved. Now, if you got a person, no matter how well you communicate,
Bleue (34:32.93)
Right, because if I'm...
E. (34:40.425)
.
Bleue (34:43.435)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Bleue (34:48.119)
Mm-hmm.
Archie Beslow (34:58.319)
and they don't want to receive it, then that person's not meant for you. That car is not meant for you. Shop around.
Bleue (35:01.655)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Harv C (35:04.812)
I think that's I think I think that's a very good I'm gonna get you in, James. James, I'm gonna get you in. I'ma get you in in a second. I think Archie made a real good point there when you said that about comparing the man to manual in a car. I think what has happened, a lot of people get I like on the way on the way into this today, I I heard the song Bag Baby. Okay. And
Da Funky One (35:05.836)
Hey, let me let me can can I jump in this real quick?
Archie Beslow (35:09.566)
Yeah.
Da Funky One (35:11.221)
Okay.
Harv C (35:33.814)
Erica is basically l telling them to let go a lot of their baggage. And I think a lot of times with our sisters, because of the emotional damage brothers have laid on them, and we gotta take the responsibility for it. They make it bad for the next man because of what they've what they what you gonna get in here too. Okay, it's room for all of us. Like I said, it's room for all of us in the shop. So everybody gonna get a chance to lay around. I'm Okay.
E. (35:47.003)
Let me.
Bleue (35:54.01)
Hehehehehe
I'm I'm bo-god. I'm I'm a bo-god this one. I'm a bo-god this one go ahead
Harv C (36:03.651)
we gonna we we gonna we gonna we g we're gonna give you some light, but I would do wanna get E in. I do wanna get E and James in, and we'll come back to you, Blue. And then I'm gonna close and then I'm gonna close off and go go to the next one. So my major point that I wanna make, and I know what Arch was saying about, you know, make sure you read the manual, but some of our sisters have been damaged so tough from what we've done. It's hard for them.
Bleue (36:07.856)
Right. Respect. Respect.
E. (36:24.841)
you you
Harv C (36:30.798)
When they look at a car, it might look shiny and all that and they just with it, but the first sign they see something ain't right with that engine, they ready to jump in and get out of here because they think it's like the other car they had. They think it's something off the lemon lot. I'm I'm throwing it out to my man James, Da Funky One. James, g give us what you feel, man.
Da Funky One (36:39.126)
Yeah.
Da Funky One (36:50.444)
Alright, so me in my past, I dated some women where they was looking at a Rubik's Cube manual. And I'm scratching my head like, yo, what the heck you talking about?
E. (36:56.918)
you you
Archie Beslow (36:59.113)
Yeah!
Bleue (36:59.74)
Hehehehehe
Harv C (37:06.116)
Right, right, right, right, right. Hey, that that's nah that's heavy. E, it's it's time for you to come in and and drop some drop some on us what what you 'cause I know you wanted to get in here and you itching. So E, get in here and give us what you got, man.
E. (37:24.668)
What I want to say is and I get I get I get the the analogy about the manual and stuff that That's that's that's a good analogy. But let's let's look at it from a different The perspective that I'm looking at it from is if you have past trauma and you did not fix your past trauma and you're going into a relationship with your past
Harv C (37:26.22)
E
E. (37:50.915)
I don't care what communication you have. Your communication is dead because your past trauma is going to affect that other person of their actions or whatever they're doing. And then you're going to always say, that man did me bad. He going to do me bad like he did me. So I'm going to look at him in that same telescope, microscope or whatever. Now to have to read a manual, what good is for me to read that manual if the transmission ain't working? If the engine busted.
Bleue (38:05.934)
to that.
Bleue (38:10.926)
to that.
E. (38:19.363)
I said transmission ain't worth anything. Oh man, I'm gonna send the car back. The car got to go. Ain't nothing for that. You know what I'm saying? If you are having trauma, if you've had trauma in your past relationships, I would say this for, if it's a woman or a man, yes, you need to go get some psychiatric help. You need to get a psychologist. You need to see a priest. You need to see somebody. You need help. You can't go into another relationship to deal with somebody.
I
Harv C (38:53.625)
Yeah.
Harv C (39:08.86)
All I can say all
E. (39:15.148)
that's ridiculous! No!
Harv C (39:20.214)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It sounds like a lot of pain. It sounds like a lot of pain, bruh. It sounds like a lot of pain. You know, E
Da Funky One (39:21.018)
Ha ha ha ha.
Archie Beslow (39:27.476)
I hope she's not home. She better be in the hospital.
Harv C (39:31.14)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It sounds like a lot of pain, man. Because you know what this is spoken like? This is spoken like a true African. You ain't BS in the night. Okay. I I I I you know what? We arch, arch, give him a hug. And Arch I got a couch for him. I got a couch I got a couch for him right here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel you e I Yeah yeah yeah
Da Funky One (39:42.71)
He said he said I'ma hug you like you
Bleue (39:45.82)
guys
E. (39:48.946)
Yeah.
Da Funky One (39:50.021)
man. man.
E. (39:53.57)
I'm the-
Archie Beslow (39:56.366)
I'm just not past this cubicle tomorrow. I'm gonna check over tomorrow.
Da Funky One (39:56.694)
Man.
E. (39:59.04)
Yeah
Harv C (40:02.593)
Yeah. Check on it. Check a hey hey Bleue Bleue, I want to get this back to you because you wanted the opportunity. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what? Go ahead, Blue. I want to get the chance to get in and then I'm gonna wrap it up and cause I got a couple more pointers on this be before we get to taking some time to spot to spotlight our guests tonight. So before we before we spotlight our guests, I wanna give it back to my man Blue. Blue, go ahead over here.
Da Funky One (40:07.552)
Put the hand down and pray for
Archie Beslow (40:09.837)
Yeah
Bleue (40:19.958)
I guess. I guess. I guess.
Archie Beslow (40:24.934)
Yeah.
Bleue (40:27.01)
Oh, man. We knew when we touched on this subject. We knew that this was gonna happen. I don't know why y'all didn't get a disclaimer ahead of time, but it is what it is. So I'm gonna try to wrap this one up because E, valid points. You know what I'm saying? I agree with you. You had some good ones.
Archie Beslow (40:33.2)
Yes, sir.
Harv C (40:37.71)
we definitely knew. We definitely knew. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Archie Beslow (40:44.107)
Good, good, good.
Harv C (40:46.168)
Yeah. Right, right.
Harv C (40:53.142)
Very valid points.
Bleue (40:57.046)
But here's the deal with that. Just to piggyback on that too, fellas. When you tell a woman, this is how I am from jump, and you tell them from jump, this is how I am, they even have the choice to either ride with you or don't ride with you. So you don't wait until three, four months down the line, you talking about, well, what about this and what about that? I'm like, yo, hold up shorty, I told you this from jump.
E. (41:15.982)
Back.
Bleue (41:26.92)
This is what I'm about. You see what saying? I told you from jump, this is what I'm about. now, so now here we go. Now we two, three years into relationship. And if I told you I'm not down with that, now you going to put it back on me. Like I was wasting your time where hold up. I thought we had a good thing and we just keep riding this thing until the wheel fall off. Now you putting this more pressure on me talking about, how come this and how come that? And I was like, well, hold up for a second. I told you from jump, this is what I'm about. So.
Harv C (41:27.3)
Right, right, right.
Bleue (41:56.633)
If you don't allow
If you don't allow it to grow the way the two of you make it grow, not the previous cat, but the two of you allow it to grow, then it's never going to grow. You see what I'm saying? You're not giving it the chance. You're putting a timeframe on it. And all men not like that. All women are not like that. You see what I'm saying? And that's all I got to say on that. That's all I got to say. So I know, I know we're going to get some bashing. I know we're going to get some bashing. Cause they're going be like, man, he ain't never said nothing before.
Harv C (42:23.604)
True, true, true, true, true. You but well well
Bleue (42:31.855)
And now he all like this, but I'm gonna keep it real. I'm gonna keep it real. If a brother or sister, whoever, if they telling you this is how I am from jump and you choose to go that route, that is not on them. That is on you.
Harv C (42:47.724)
And you know what I wanna put I wanna put here. This is the night that Sebastian Bean Blue woke up and he dropped it to y'all, okay? So he letting y'all know who he is out there. So for those of you that so for those so for those of you that done hit me up and said, What is the dude with the hat doing? He don't be talking sports. What he doing? Well, he letting you know what he talking about tonight. Okay? He done let y'all know the night. He real talk. Real talk he letting y'all know tonight. Now the other thing
Bleue (42:58.87)
You
You
Bleue (43:10.887)
Real talk, real talk.
Harv C (43:16.792)
That I want to add to this, and then we're going to open the floor for my man to take some time with our guests. an important thing anytime you go in a relationship, and this is me coming from a spiritual standpoint, you've got to be equally yoked. And when you're equally yoked, that means spiritually you're connected, you're about the same things, and at least from a starter standpoint, you're giving yourself a chance if you got God in the middle of what you're trying to do.
Bleue (43:31.255)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Bleue (43:44.041)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Harv C (43:45.381)
Because if you don't have God in the middle, both of you can be out of pocket and you have nowhere to go. And a lot of times when you're spiritually connected, if you got God in the middle, you're gonna come back. That's where you come back and meet. And that opens up that communication piece that Arch was talking about. So many times, let's be real, especially as men, my man pointed out earlier, we physical, we ain't looking at that, we ain't thinking about that, we ain't thinking about can we do X, Y, Z?
And it really gotta be more coming from here. And as we get older, we kinda understand that. You know what I mean? And and and and we kinda get to the point where we kind of can grasp that kind of situation a little better. Before I open this up to James, I wanna hit one thing. There's sometimes we have situations when we're in these relationships, right? And your partner, you got a partner who comes home every night, pays bills, treats you well.
shows affection, but you still feel something is wrong. Okay? Should the feelings outweigh years of evidence? And Arch, you touched on this a little bit, but I'm gonna throw this to you.
Harv C (45:01.514)
Art, what you feel on this one?
Archie Beslow (45:01.858)
Yes, sir.
The whole the the whole so my thing is the whole too good to be true I'm I'm not a too good to be true dude because I told you the truth in the beginning. So what I'm telling you, this is what it is. So you got someone, this too good to be true, something's gonna summon. No. I'm telling you, this is what it is. If I if I fall slight of that, then check me. Check me. Well, babe, you say X, Y, Z. You know what? You're right. You're right.
Harv C (45:05.442)
Yeah, tell us
Bleue (45:17.507)
Mm-hmm.
Bleue (45:21.85)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Bleue (45:28.57)
Mm-hmm.
Harv C (45:30.5)
Right.
Bleue (45:32.794)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Archie Beslow (45:33.909)
Let's let's let's backtrack, let's fix this. But don't allow me to go way to the right. And then you you s you're I'm so far to the right that you mad at me that we not speaking and we beefing, but we didn't have the conversation. But you Baha, I was about to hit the go button on on what you just said. Because that's if you got God in the middle of your relationship, it holds both parties accountable.
Harv C (45:37.741)
Right.
Bleue (45:45.008)
Mm-hmm.
Harv C (45:45.612)
Wow. Wow. Wow.
Harv C (45:52.865)
Okay.
Bleue (45:55.93)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Harv C (45:59.0)
Yes it does. Yes it does. Yes it does. That's that's real.
Archie Beslow (45:59.657)
So and it it and I'm I'm guilty of it too because at the end of the day if both of you guys pray together at night, if you pray together at night, I'm telling you, that's gonna go a long way.
Harv C (46:09.624)
Go.
Harv C (46:15.878)

Harv C (55:13.644)
Just for RG, okay.
Archie Beslow (55:20.795)
Well, yeah. So so so ironic, I got to say it was Luther Van Dross at the Capitol Center when he had the rotating stage. Yeah, yeah. The circular jump. Yeah. and I was a young man just to see just to see the uniformity, man, the transitions, the music, man, it was like a whole vibe, man. It was a whole vibe. Yeah. That was a very cap captivating moment with me, man.
Harv C (55:21.105)

Harv C (55:45.943)
Right, right. Cool. Well, and and I guess that's gonna sit with you for life now. But check this out. He did say when you're not when you're not performing. So technically, you were performing, homie. So run this back again and try it again. See, we're gonna have clad guys come up cup and tea and hang out with us, just talking, and they're gonna be just talking, saying what they want to say.

E. (56:57.934)
Da Funky One (57:13.236)

All right. Only for only for only for Archie. Only for Archie. All right, so this is one musician from one musician to another, because we both have this. That's why I'm asking these questions. So because I know mine.
Harv C (57:18.914)
Okay, all right, do that.
Harv C (57:27.325)

Archie Beslow (58:57.832)
It's good.
Da Funky One (59:02.572)
All right, so like what's the craziest request you've ever gotten from some somebody at your at one of your shows?
Archie Beslow (59:10.335)
to play a different style of a style of music that we just don't do. If you know we're a go-go band, don't don't ask me to play no classical music. And then get and then get mad at me because I can't play it. And I really get really get mad. you guys supposed to be musicians, supposed to have a and I never say we gonna play everything.
Da Funky One (59:16.084)

Bleue (59:25.225)
Mm-hmm.
Da Funky One (59:25.418)
I know, right?
Harv C (59:32.802)
Now now break this down for me, Arch. Can you give us an example of when that happened? Or what you know, what they actually did?
Archie Beslow (59:34.843)
Sure.
Archie Beslow (59:39.471)
So we would we w we was at a show and it was a private event. And what happened is, you know, I tell them the style of music we play. I let them know what kind of music we play. So this one particular lady that was a guest that was there, she went to the the person through the party, and the person through the party came to me and asked me to play something crazy. It was a crazy request. An artist, you know, it was a Caucasian artist, the keeper 100, and we just don't do that music.
And the lady the the lady got the lady like really got upset. She gonna say, Well can you at least try? Can you can your band members like listen to it and
Harv C (01:00:06.538)
okay, okay.
Da Funky One (01:00:12.396)
I give you try.
Harv C (01:00:12.936)
So what what what what what she wanted you to do? Some fleet woodmack and Stevie Nicks? Or she wanted you to do some heart or what something off the chart that you it you know f okay.
Archie Beslow (01:00:21.268)
I I forgot so so so what I did was me being the comedian that I am, I did a little bit of do I did I did the Dewey brothers in the pocket and she gave and she gave she gave me a stir like like I was being sarcastic. I'm saying to myself I'm trying to honor you best I can. So yeah. Yeah, we did the minute, minute, five minute, five minute, five minute. I keep on and on. But hey.
Harv C (01:00:28.213)
Right, right.
Harv C (01:00:32.578)
Okay.
Da Funky One (01:00:36.171)
Ha ha.
Harv C (01:00:36.751)
wow.
Harv C (01:00:41.14)
Right, right, right, right, right. Okay, and I guess I
Harv C (01:00:48.916)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm hip to that. I'm a minute by minute joint. Okay, go ahead. You're hitting with you hitting with your last joint, man.
Archie Beslow (01:00:51.396)
Yeah.
Da Funky One (01:00:55.2)
Well that actually he touched it because my next question was about that. Yeah, yeah. So you gotta touch that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Harv C (01:00:57.718)
He did, he did kinda touch it. He did kinda touch it.
All right, but you know what, Arch, we appreciate you much, bruh. And listen, we wanna throw it, we wanna throw it out to our people out there. You got a chance to go check out this brand band, the Black Premise Bands, man. Y'all got to. Okay. And this brother here that we have from the DM DMB performed all around the world, kicking it with the style of go-go, kicking it, every kind of funky type of music you wanna hear. I heard him talking about trumpets and keys and all that.
Archie Beslow (01:01:06.059)
For sure.
E. (01:01:20.446)
.
Archie Beslow (01:01:27.241)
Yes sir.
Harv C (01:01:30.878)
And it's a blessing to get that type of stuff in music of the day because you don't always get that. All right, we're going into our fast five, okay? And I just want one word answers. And as we usually do, we'll take a consensus, and the person who's the I one out will speak why he took what particular position. So we're gonna ask the question, we'll hit everybody here around in the group. You get one word answers, and then we'll come back into you. E.
Archie Beslow (01:01:36.047)
Yeah.
E. (01:01:43.106)
Early morning.
Harv C (01:02:00.517)
We're gonna kick this off to you. I gotta make sure you ain't sleep, bruh. Early morning or late night.
Harv C (01:02:10.404)
Okay, big game James.
Da Funky One (01:02:12.512)
Late night.
Harv C (01:02:15.018)
Okay, that's one for each of those. Okay? Arch.
Archie Beslow (01:02:18.928)
Late night.
Harv C (01:02:21.698)
Two one late night Bleue.
Bleue (01:02:23.207)
Late night.
Harv C (01:02:25.666)
That's three. Me also late night. So, okay. And we're gonna kick it out to E briefly, E, because it was four to one. We took late night. You always to the left. Why you to the left? I don't know. But go ahead and give us why early morning. Because you be sounding like you the you sounding like you're on some gap band stuff or something right now. You sounding like you on some gap band stuff stuff or something. So hit me why early morning.
E. (01:02:31.846)
Go. Go.
So early mornings is, and I picked this up from a Navy SEAL in which, you know, wake up early in the morning, you get things done, even if you got a goal, you set your goal. And if you don't accomplish your goal, but whatever activity that you do early that morning that you complete, you can always knock that off on your list of things that you've completed for rest of the day. Even though you don't complete whatever you have wanted to complete that day. So my early mornings is...
Early in the morning, I go to the gym around four o'clock in the morning, workout, come back. In my eyes, I'm doing things a lot that a lot of people are not doing, and I do it every day. So that puts me on the edge over everybody else. I choose early morning, then it's like...
Harv C (01:03:38.34)
Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. That puts you over. Right. Before I go on to the next one, does there any is there anyone who wants to add something about late night? I think it's obvious late night is. But anybody wanna just touch on it and throw something in there, kinda let me know really quickly.
Da Funky One (01:03:57.196)
Well, late night for me, 'cause you know, being a musician, that's just the thing. You you you get used to doing things late night.
Archie Beslow (01:04:00.823)
Yeah.
Harv C (01:04:03.063)
Yeah, I kinda I kinda I kinda could I kinda could get up with that and understand where you come from at. Love band or DJ? I think this is pretty easy. Hopefully we might can work a sweep out of here. Archie, live band or DJ?

I love sneakers now. And they came up to the point where they really dressy. But you know what? It was this group called Z Top. Ain't nothing like a ain't nothing like a sharp dressed man. Harv C (01:07:13.9)
So I'm on the shoe game cause because your shoe game don't really come off. Sneakers, they done became their own thing. But yo, if you got a nice shoe game, that was always the way to Mac back in the day, to have a tight shoe game.
Da Funky One (01:07:26.666)
You know, the last time I bought a pair last time I bought a pair of sh shoes, Harve, it came with a ARP car.
Harv C (01:07:31.5)

Bleue (01:07:32.352)
Hehehehehe
Archie Beslow (01:07:36.813)
Yeah, yeah.
Bleue (01:07:41.728)
You
Da Funky One (01:08:00.32)
Well, yeah, my my main thoughts, you know, I always wonder like how someone got started. Like what was the thing that got you so interested in music that you decided this is your thing?
Archie Beslow (01:08:10.123)
So yeah, my father played the trombone church. So as a little man, I got to admire my dad. And he was one of the baddest trombone players in this particular church. The church is called United, United House of Prayer for All People. So he was like one of the lead trombone players in the whole kingdom. And at the age of four, I picked a horn up. Then of course, growing up in Southeast DC, I got affiliated with Go-Go. So I've been in Go-Go since 1981 and I have not stopped.
I played with bands, reality band, Air Ray band, Black Nation Prophecy. I played with the Go Go Symphony. I've started my own band, which is a blessing. so music has been a part of me. Music is my it soothes my soul and and I'm a giver. I love entertaining people because I love for people to have a good time. I want it to be always be a positive impact on people's lives opposed to being a hindrance to somebody. So we all know music is a way to everybody's heart.
And I love pleasing people. So that's why I love doing what I do.
Da Funky One (01:09:10.892)
So y your dad had his own band also back in the day? In the church. Was your mom into that as well? Like far as music?
Archie Beslow (01:09:15.323)
No, no, he just played in the church band. No, he didn't have his nope. Yeah.
So my mom liked to dance. My mom was like a party animal. So going back to the DJs and my mom could cut a rug. So so I got the musicianship from my dad and I got the entertainer part from my mom. Because my mom was a people person as well. And she was always the life of the party. So I was always exposed to that part of life from a music standpoint and to my mom being like the party person wherever she went.
Da Funky One (01:09:47.808)
So you play say you play the trumpet, right? That's how you started with the trumpet.
E. (01:09:48.138)
The talk.
Harv C (01:09:48.92)
Yeah how.
Archie Beslow (01:09:51.333)
I started no I always pay the Trump on. Yep, I always pay the Trump bone. Yep.
Da Funky One (01:09:53.908)
Trombone. So what else you play? You just play the trombone?
Do you play any other instruments also?
Archie Beslow (01:10:00.013)
I I play the drums, I can congos, I can play a little bit of p a little bit of keys enough to make it make sense. So I play the tuba, bird tone horn, yeah.
Da Funky One (01:10:10.88)
Mm-hmm.
Da Funky One (01:10:16.97)
Yeah, man. We gotta get together sometime, man, do something together. That'd be that'd be a lot of fun. That'd be a lot of fun.
Archie Beslow (01:10:19.778)
I would love it. I would love it. I would love it, man. So
Harv C (01:10:22.488)
That's it, games.
Da Funky One (01:10:27.264)
The so that that's all I really have for you, man. Like so like well wait. No, no, I do have something else. So where are guys gonna be next?

Archie Beslow (01:12:10.831)
Yeah, wrote a couple of books. Yeah. J James nobody be humble, man. so like I say, once again, I know God put me on reserve for a reason. I know I have an assignment, so I've taken ownership of my assignment. My assignment is to do right by God's people, his adults, his kids, all of that. So I'm going to continue my mission. So I wrote books because I love the youth. I wrote books on how to help parents and coaches better.
Harv C (01:12:11.18)
Whoa.
Da Funky One (01:12:13.142)
He wrote a couple of books, man.
Harv C (01:12:32.342)
Amen. Amen. Amen.
Archie Beslow (01:12:39.993)

Da Funky One (01:18:16.636)

But I think we got another good show in the can. And and and then what are you gonna do? How are you gonna reach back to our audience? the the ones that we hit that that listen to us live.
