Family can wait. Sleep is overrated. Faith just gets in the way. Success fixes anxiety. Work-life balance is impossible. Ambition always comes with sacrifice. But are any of these things actually true? Today, we're going to put it all on the table.

SPEAKER_02

What's up, guys? Welcome to today's episode of the Revival Show. First off, I just want to say thank you for watching this. And if you get any value out of today's episode, please share it with at least one person. When you share the channel and the episode, it helps us grow. And we really appreciate guys for that. My name is Drake Robert. I am the owner and CEO of Revival Marine Care and the host of the Revival Show. And I'm joined today with uh Noah Doss. What's up, dude? What's up, man?

SPEAKER_00

I thought you were gonna give a go at what I do around here. Um he's our regional sales director.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think this one stemmed from a question that we actually got from uh well, you know, just one of our listeners. And uh Noah read it today and we're like, dude, let's talk about it. And uh to be totally honest, I don't actually feel like doing this podcast today, but we're here, we said we'd do it, and uh honestly, sometimes that's the best time is uh jumping into things and doing stuff when you don't always feel like doing it, but you do it because you said you were gonna do it, right?

SPEAKER_00

Read this DM because I thought it was really good. So we got this DM and it says, Hey Drake, hope all is well. I know you get a ton of messages from business owners asking how to start or grow. This isn't that. I started my own detailing business at 17, and now I'm 21, running a shop on Long Island, cars and boats. What actually pulled me to your content is the faith side. The moments in the podcasts and videos where you talk about staying grounded with God, those are the parts I pay closest attention to. I've spent the past year really trying to just trust God through the ups and downs of running a business, booked out one month and stressing about rent the next, and trying to actually hear him and follow what he has for me instead of being hard headed about my own plans. Curious how you've learned to do that, especially through the grind of building something. Yeah. Crazy good question. That's a solid question. Did you read out who said who sent that? I did not. No, I didn't. I didn't I didn't ask him beforehand if I could. So yeah, I didn't want to throw him out there.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's actually a really deep thought-out question, man. Yeah, I don't know. Um, I know we have a lot, you know, that we want to discuss with that, but you know, there's so much to unpack on that question. I know uh one of the things that stood out was like, you know, you you feel successful one day and then next week you're struggling for rent. You know, I don't I I guess I believed, I think I, you know, I've shared this before somewhere. I don't know where the heck I talked about it, but like I always had this mindset of like one day I'm gonna reach a spot where like bills are always paid, things are good, and like there's no problems. And the truth is, is like honestly, the more successful you get, the more opportunities you have to like actually flex that faith. Um, you know, I don't think that God wants us to have a life where we don't need him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You know, that's the tricky part about like being a Christian and you know, following God is like if God gave us everything that we needed, everything that we wanted, then why would we actually need to pursue a relationship with him? So, you know, there's a lot, you know, and I want to talk about that, and I think we will throughout this, but you know, I want to encourage you guys, like, you know, if you're listening to this and you're like, I'm not a Christian, I don't, you know, maybe I don't need this. I'm like, hey, I challenge you, watch the episode.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Because even if you, you know, struggle with the I idea of God and stuff, you know, there's so many people that have so many hurts with God. Like, first and foremost, half the time it ain't God, it's usually people, yeah. Or churches, literally 99% of people or just lies they've believed, you know. Um, man, I've got so many friends that are like, don't talk to me about that God stuff. And it's usually because somebody hurt them that was a that said they were a believer in Christ and they were doing things that Jesus would never do, and they're mad at him. Yeah, you know, I've told people like, you know, if somebody walked up to you and punched you dead in the face and they were wearing a Nike t-shirt, would you call Phil Knight, the owner of Nike, and be like, Why did you do this? Yeah, no, you'd be like, the dude punched me in the face. Like, who cares what shirt he was wearing? Yeah, and that's how many, like, you know, Christians get hurt all the time by like people that wear the shirt of I'm a Jesus follower or I'm a Christian. Yeah, they get punched in the face and they blame God. It's like that's good. Man, maybe it's just jacked up people. But anyway, that's not what that is about.

SPEAKER_00

I've actually on that, I've heard it said like this too. Uh, someone asked me one time, they were like, uh, who's your your favorite, you know, who's your favorite band? Or you know, and uh I'm a I'm a Hardy fan, so I like Hardy. I know you like Hardy as well.

SPEAKER_01

Hardy.

SPEAKER_00

Not gonna sing it right now, but we are Hardy fans. Everybody's gonna and um he was like, Man, he's like, Imagine you're walking down the street of in streets in Nashville and you walk into a bar and there's a cover band playing Hardy. And he was like, and you're excited, you walk in and the cover band sucks. Yeah. Are you gonna stop listening to Hardy? No, why? Because he's awesome, exactly. And that's kind of like how I've seen that too, like when it comes to faith and trusting the Lord and walking with Christ, is like there are a lot of people, um, and we are human that proclaim Christ, that rep Christ, but when you see it, it doesn't always seem to make sense. So I would encourage you as well. Um, we go to the source, like yeah, we go to the source, we stand on the word of God and what it says. Um, and here's the other thing, too. You know, Drake and I were talking about this earlier. Guys, we could literally spit every bit of business knowledge that we have at you. We could give you all the tips and tricks for how the business has gotten to where it is today, but we would be very remiss and holding out on you guys if we didn't just straight up tell you that we are where we are today and the lives we have and the business we have because of who the Lord is. And I felt like not convicted, but I definitely felt the Lord kind of pressing my heart. And I know Drake the same, where it's like, hey, like if we don't give people the gospel and the truth behind how everything in our life operates, how we keep our peace, how we keep our joy, how we walk through these things in faith, like then they're just gonna be going after all these business things. And yeah, like so you make millions of dollars and you get what you want, but you're dying inside. Yeah, it's like it happens all the time. Scripture says, what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? Yeah. And for us, it's really important. You've seen revival. I'm pointing my hat. Revival, um, you know, that's who we are, you know, it's what we do. And uh, so we just wanted to take this episode and uh man, just kind of pour that out to you and explain how it applies in our life and our business, yeah, how it keeps us grounded, um, how it brings peace to our life, even when we're going through a lot of a lot of crap. And uh, we'll get into that a little bit here. Yeah, and uh kind of just be real with you guys. And I agree with Drake, don't don't tune out, please. Like just listen, just hear hear what we have to say, and um, you don't you don't have to believe everything we say and run away with all the truths that we have. Um, but I I do hope that you can get something out of this and um be encouraged by it. So yeah, man.

SPEAKER_02

I just as you were speaking, and I was like, I have people ask me, I had a guy actually in the airport uh this last week when I was flying home, or literally two days ago when I was flying home and I had a revival marine care shirt on, and he was like, I have my headphones in, and he was like, hey, and he was like waving at me. I was like, what the heck? And he was like, What does your shirt mean? And I was like, Oh, I own a you know, a yacht restoration company and sell products. He was like, Oh, and like you could tell he's like a little let down, and I was like, What did you think it meant? And he was like, Oh, I thought you were like, you know, in the faith. And I was like, Well, I am kind of, yeah, and uh I was like, Yeah, we bring boats back to life, you know, and and that's the little play on words. So I don't know, I don't think I've ever actually openly shared like why I named the business Revival Marine Care. God brought me back to life, and I think it's awesome play on words that we bring boats back to life, and you know, uh starting with the whole like you know, relationship with God is like for me, it like started back at when I was like 19, really. I mean, I kind of grew up in church my whole life. Um, but I I chose to follow God at 19. And in that moment, I knew that if I didn't do something different, if I didn't change my ways, I was literally going to die. Yeah, so you know, the fact that Noah's like, hey, you know, like our success, all this stuff, like we we would be doing you a disservice by not bringing the faith element into it. I literally would not be alive today if it wasn't for God in my life, because I went through a wild phase of you know fighting, getting guns to put to my head, um, same guy, same gun, two times in the same night. You would think I would have learned my lesson on the first time he pulled the gun on me. Uh, but I was so crazy, man. I actually told a dude to shoot me, and thank God he didn't, you know, at 19, dude. I literally could be he could have shot me out of self-defense, and he didn't. Praise God. Wow. Um, you know, and then just all the countless other dumb crap that I did, like it is literally a miracle that I'm here. But, you know, back in when I was 19 and I was like, you know, God, I am done. I'm done chasing my own way or trying to do what I think is good. Like, I genuinely want to, you know, serve you and and honestly be who God created me to be because I was trying to be someone that I thought I would be, and it led me into depression, anxiety, stress, you know, sleepless nights, hangovers, the whole nine. Um, you know, so revival is such a it's a really cool thing for me because not only did I have to do that at 19, but I literally had to redo it again at like 23, and I had to redo it again at 27, and I had to redo it again at 30. And uh, I'm hoping that's the last time I had to do it was at 30, man, but literally built from nothing, lost everything, and you know, now we're chilling.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's not chilling, but I mean, scripture tells us, you know, to die to ourselves daily. Yeah. And I think when it comes to stress and anxiety in our life, um, typically things that you control end up controlling you. And when you try to control something and you realize you're at the extent of your capabilities, is when stress and anxiety set in. Yeah. So I think for us, like a lot of the peace and joy and stuff that we have that's allowed us to walk through some things is the reality that we understand that it's actually God who holds the outcome in our future and our peace. And so it's like no matter what happens in my life, in my business, um, in my day, it says in Romans 8 28 that all things work together for the good of those who are in Christ Jesus. Yeah. So it's like I can rest assured in the fact that no matter what's going on in my life, like everything is going to work out for the good of me and the glory of God, because that's what his word says, and he's he's the same yesterday and today, yesterday, today, and forever. And so, you know, talking about peace, um, I think that's one thing I feel like, especially in business, a lot of people struggle with. And there's this like, I don't know, I don't want to call it a lie, but I guess it is like where people think like, oh man, if I just made X amount of dollars this month, then I would not be stressed anymore. Well, it's like, guess what? That means more jobs, more employees, more product, more taxes. And it's like, so then you hit that level and it's like, oh, the stress is still there. It's like, okay, well, if I can just get a crew, if I can get three guys or I can do this, like there's always this like this lie of the world that's like that that success equates to not having stress. Yeah. And if you have stress before your quote unquote success, you will have it even amplif more amplified when that success comes. And so, man, we just want to like encourage you. Like, that's like my heart right now. I was like just encouraging everybody, like there is there is a life. So you might be listening to this right now, and you're like, good for you guys. Like, but there is a reality and a life that you can actually walk in peace, enjoy, and comfort, yeah, and go after what the Lord's called you to do in your business and trust him through the ups and downs. And like, you don't have to do this on your own. Like he loves you, he's with you, he sees you, and you just gotta get real with yourself and ask, like, you know, yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I think for me, I'm speaking for myself, um, a lot of my stress when it comes to financial insecurity or just like job, you know, just whatever. I mean, honestly, most stress is usually because I don't actually trust God in that situation. Um, you know, even with what you said, like all things work out for the good. It's like most people know that scripture, they've heard it, their grandmom probably told them. But it's like if you don't genuinely believe that deep in your soul, yeah, um, you could say it all you want, but if you don't actually believe it, um you're not gonna experience it. Yeah, you know. So I think like like I said, for for myself, was like I had to do some real soul searching, you know, a couple years ago when I kind of rebuilt everything, and it was like, do I actually trust God? Yeah, you know, it's one thing to say it, but if you are experiencing anxiety through the roof, stress, depression, a lot of the times, like I said, again, in my case, it was because I genuinely did not actually trust him. Yeah, I thought that um he was more like a genie, like you know, if I do good, if I do something quite good enough, and then maybe he'll he'll grant me my wishes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And it just doesn't for me, again, it didn't work like that. Now there is the aspect of the daily relationship where we do have a part to play. So for instance, with stress, like it is literally as easy uh as choosing to be stressed, stressed out or not. Now, there will be times where it's like things are happening, things can be overwhelming, and it's just kind of you know, you feel it building up. But even in those moments, it's like we have to learn, and I'm not perfect at this, but we have to learn to literally stop, pause, and just like pray and just be like, all right, God, like let's figure it out, you know. Like, for instance, 30 minutes ago, all the power went out, and we're like, all right, maybe we'll do it. And then I was like, no, like let's just go get some extension cords, we'll figure it out. Yeah, whereas like most people, the power goes out and then they're like a victim. Yeah, God, why does this always happen? I'm trying to do the right thing, I'm trying to build something new. Why does this have to happen to me? And then, like, before you know it, you're spiraling into this self-pity uh party, dude. And I personally have to be very careful with self-pity, yeah, because I can freaking mainline some self-pity, dude. Like I could I could sit in some self-pity for a long time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And unfortunately, that will never produce like good fruit in my life. Yeah, it's good.

SPEAKER_00

Never. And I think the cool thing is too, like when you walk with the Lord and you trust him and you believe that what his word said is true, that all things work together for the good of those who are in Christ Jesus, like you can be excited about even the things that used to bring you stress and anxiety. You're like, the Lord is doing something. Yeah, like there's a plan. Either he's teaching me, he's molding me, or there's someone along the path I need to meet. A quick story. So um, my son, uh, he's seven months old, he just had eye surgery.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I prayed and prayed and prayed. I thought I wholeheartedly thought the Lord was gonna heal him before a surgery. I was like, ready, bro. Like I would literally wake up and like look at his eyes, and I'm like, ah, they're still jacked, you know, and like, but I was trusting, and I really thought the Lord was gonna heal him. And I'm not gonna lie, Friday morning we were going into the surgery, and I was like, Lord, like, you know, like I had a lot of faith. I was trusting, whatever. We get to the hospital and we go back, they check him in, uh, and then they're taking him away from my wife and I to put him under anesthesia to get into the surgery. And they send my wife and I back out to the lobby. And I'm sitting there, and a couple minutes later, another couple who we had seen in there beforehand with their one-year-old little boy come walking out without their son. He was going in for surgery as well. And the dad is boohooing, like losing it, holding the toy in his hand, his son brought in in the corner crying. And I felt the Lord in that moment was like, This is why I needed you to be here for this surgery. This is why I couldn't heal him because I needed you to be here to talk to them. Wow. And so the Lord prompted me, I got up, I went over, and I prayed with the couple, and I found out that they weren't necessarily believers themselves, but her mom is a believer and she's been praying for them. And she was texting her mom, she's like, You're not gonna believe it. The Lord sent somebody to pray over us and speak into our life and prayed for them. It was awesome. We went back to our seats, and they ended up coming over to us and asked if they could sit with us for the hour or whatever that our sons were in surgery, basically at the same time. And we got to speak into their life and we encouraged each other. And then both of our surgeons came out, different guys came out at the same time and gave us both really good reports about our sons. And it was like this reality of like, you know, I so bad wanted what I wanted that I didn't realize the Lord was working behind the scenes because ultimately the Lord cares about people's souls more than he does our physical ailments. Like, I'm not to be whatever. And so it's like the Lord needed me to walk through what I was walking through with my son because he needed me in that operating room and in that lobby at that moment so that those people could see how much the Lord loved them. Yeah. And it's like, it just gave me this perspective of like, I need to just trust the Lord. Yeah, I just need to trust him, I need to lean into him. And even if things aren't going my way or it doesn't seem like they're working out how I would want them to, I know that he has a plan and I got to trust that his ways are greater than mine. Yeah. And that goes for family, business, general life. Like he sees you, he loves you, and he has a plan, and we just have to learn to trust him. Absolutely, man. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I think like the longer you have a relationship with God, the I don't want to say easier it gets, but like the more you have a history of breakthrough. Yeah. You know, so it's like when you go through hard times, you're like, oh, this is just like four years ago when I went through that, and like my life got 10 times better. Um as being like faithful. And and you know, one really cool thing about the Lord is like for me, he's been so faithful to me, even though I haven't always been faithful to him. 100%, which is wild, man. It's like I've done, I've cursed literally cursed God and like you know, yelled at him and all this crap. And it's like, he doesn't even care, dude. It's like that's cute, you know. Like, I still have plans for you. But for me, it's like even though I'd go through those like dark seasons or like really pissed at God, um I I still never gave up. I still never like turned my back on him, maybe for a day, maybe for a moment, but it wasn't like uh I'm done, I'm out. You know, I've always had to come back because quite frankly, I know that I have a big life and things that um that I'm called to do that I can't do on my own. Yeah, and I don't even want to do them on my own, you know. Um and dude, I I could hear people like almost like I'm talking to my you know 20-year-old self that was like so frustrated, just so I wasn't happy with my life. I wanted more. I felt deep down in like my soul that I was built for more. Yeah, but like I was stuck in this grind of just like on my hands and knees, scrubbing decks and bird crap, and like, dude, like I can't tell you how many times I was like crying, like physically crying while like scrubbing bird poop, just like hating my life. But man, it was like God had to put me through scenarios and seasons of waiting and patience. And it literally is in the Bible, like like suffering that all of this builds perseverance, you know, it builds your character, it actually creates you into the man that can actually handle the calling of God on the city. Exactly. And we've heard a million times, like wealthy people or even like pastors and stuff that like get these mega churches and stuff, and then before you know it, they're having affairs, they're spending money, they're buying stuff. And it's like success that comes fast typically disappears just as fast. But when you take the low and slow, and you know, it says and multiple times, like all throughout the Bible, like you know, he he corrects the ones he loves and he prunes, he prunes us, he cuts us back so that we can actually live. And yeah, you know, if you find yourself in like a dark place or a very intense season, in a weird way, that's actually a great place to be because there's usually good breakthrough right on the other side of that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's so good. It it's in Romans, uh, what you're referring to is Paul says that trials are for us to boast in our trials, because he's like, hey, guess what? Trials breed perseverance and perseverance breeds character, and character breeds hope in the Lord. And what's super cool is when you talk about hope in the Bible, it's not just like a flippant, like I hope my football team wins or whatever. It the hope is actually it's like it's like assurance, it's a confident expectation in the Lord because of his character. And so it's like when we walk through tough times, think about David when he goes to fight Goliath. Remember, he he's he's standing in front of Goliath and he's going to the king, he's like, I'm gonna fight Goliath, and they're all like, You're nuts. And he's like, Well, he's like, I've already, the Lord has helped me kill the lion, the Lord has helped me kill a bear. Like, why wouldn't he take care of this giant? And so what you're talking about is exactly true. And it's like, think about in your business right now or in your life, like you don't know what the Lord is teaching you and preparing you for that you're gonna need when he takes you where you're going. But if you skip through the pruning and the trial. And you just want to jump to where you think you're supposed to be, it may actually crush you because you're not strong enough yet. So it's like I think about and in football, if you watch football, when a receiver is running a route, the quarterback knows where they're going and he throws the ball to the spot that they're going to be ready to catch it. He doesn't throw it right to the receiver because then the ball would be behind him or he wouldn't be ready for the catch. They actually throw it out in front of them because he's like, hey, you're running a slant route. And by the time you get to this point where I threw the ball, it'll meet you there in that exact timing. It's perfect. But a lot of us in our path and our routes, like we want the ball now. We want it here. Yeah. But the quarterback, God, sees actually you're going to be most open and prepared and catch the defense by surprise if I put the ball here. Yeah. And it's like, we have to trust that and we have to lean into him. And it's exciting.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, man. I mean, you know, it says that God's a good father and it's like he gives us good gifts. And I know years ago, I was like, God, like, I want the big business. I want the millions of dollars. And now looking back, I'm like, dude, if I would have had that then, I probably would have killed myself. Like, I mean, not physically, but just done dumb stuff, drugs, alcohol, you know, the whole nine. Um, I didn't have I wasn't humble enough to even uh to carry that. And you know, there's a process, and like don't don't skip on the prospects, but trust the process. You know, I've been saying that for years for detailing, like, trust the process. Like, you know, even like think about it if if say we're boat detailing. It's like you get an old grimy boat, and it's like first you have to wash it, and like that feels good. It's like, oh yeah, getting clean. And then next thing you know, you're getting sanded on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And you're getting grinded, and it's like, oh my god, what is happening? My life's falling apart. Like, what am I doing wrong?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And it's like, no, like it's this is the process of refinement. Yeah. And then it's heavy cutting, yeah, which still sucks. Yeah. And then it's polishing, which like kind of sucks, but like, oh, you're smart with good. Yeah. And then it's the protective layer. And then after that, it's the maintenance. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Then you get to do that's it's actually crazy how much like both detailing and restoration parallels with like the gospel. It does. Like it's it's actually insanely wild when you break it down like that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I made a YouTube video. Shoot, it's probably been like 10 years now. I was like 21 or 22, and I'm it was a terrible video. But like I think I shot it on my cell phone with this cheesy voiceover, and it was like, the reason why I love detailing is because it's a lot like God. Like, you know, He gets in the hard-to-reach places, and I show like a vacuum under the seat, and it's like it sucks out the crumbs out of our life. But it's so true. Yeah, like it's so true, man. Like, like learn to be content with what you have, and God will bless you with more. Yeah. I mean, for real. It's like it's that simple. And I know it's like if I would have heard these words coming out of my mouth when I was in the depth of it, I would have been like, you don't understand. Like, oh, easy for you to say. You're like big and successful and have all this stuff. I'm like, bro, you have no freaking idea what I go through daily, weekly, last week. Like, it is insane. But what you don't need to do is become a victim to your stress, a victim to your circumstances, and the woe is me and all that, man. And yeah, because I would, you know, that that was a I I you know, I said self-pity earlier. Like one of the biggest things, man, with stress and and anxiety and like business pressures is like not self-stepping into like a victimhood of that. Of why can I never figure this out? Why, why is this only happening to me? Everyone else is successful, but I'm not. Drake's got everything, but I suck. And it's like, dude, I lived in that place for so many freaking years until and it wasn't easy, it wasn't like an overnight fix, but I genuinely had to choose to stop thinking that way. Yeah, like I anytime I caught myself going like this always happens to me, I'd have to be like, Does it always happen to me? No, like it does happen, stuff does happen. Quite frankly, it happens to everyone, like power goes out on everyone. Yeah, it rains. Like, dude, I remember getting so angry because I was so caught up in stress and financial matters. Like it would rain outside, and I'd be screaming at God, like, you know, I need to make money today. And it rains, it always rains on me. And I'm like, it's literally raining on everyone in this. Like, yeah, God is not mad at you for not tithing or something, you know. Yeah, it just stuff happens. So yeah, I mean, I think like stress, when it comes to stress, you know, if you're young, uh or maybe you're old or whatever, it's like you're you're in kindergarten, and it's like if you can't handle it now, yeah, you're not gonna be able to handle it later. Yeah. So you've got to learn how to handle it now. And and I've people I've heard people say, like, uh, I think it was Jeff Bezos, which I thought was great, but you know, he talks about like anxiety, and he's like, anxiety usually comes from when you know what to do, but you're not actually doing it. Yeah, like that's where like anxiety comes from.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And there is so much truth in that little statement because you know, there's times where it's like, I gotta do this, I gotta do this, but I'm I'm not going to, or I'm choosing not to, or I know I shouldn't uh spend money, but I'm I but I really want this thing on Amazon. And it's like, dude, that's what causes like a lot of our stress is like we actually have tasks. We have things we know we should do, but we are actually choosing to not do them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And you know, so assess your situation. Yeah. You know, pray that God would give you the courage to change the things that you can. And there's some things that you just can't change, and you just have to accept and just walk it out, dude.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think that's so good. And I was gonna say to kind of bring all that kind of conversation together is like if I could just encourage anyone watching this, is like you have to find peace in the Lord in where you're at right now. Yeah. Like if you want to grow and grow healthy and properly in your business, in your life, in your family, your marriage, like you have to find rest and peace in the Lord right now. Um, because one, either you're going to get ahead of yourself and it's gonna crush you. Um, or two, the Lord is not gonna give you what he really has for you because you're not willing to surrender where you're at. Yeah. One of my favorite quotes is uh in most cases, it takes a change of self rather than a change of scenery. Oh, absolutely. And so many of us, when I say scenery, I'm like, don't just think of like moving somewhere or literally changing your physical scenery. Yeah, but a lot of us have circumstances in our mind that's like if I was just here, if I just had that, if my family just looked like this, if I had better parents, then the stress would go away. Yeah. And the reality is in most cases, it's actually a change of self that needs to happen. And so if you could, like while you're watching. Yeah, like you can have peace. Like if you read the Bible, if you're if if you read the Bible and you read through the Bible, like literally the disciples who were preaching the gospel after Jesus went back to heaven, like they were being like imprisoned, murdered, beaten, whipped, crucified upside down, and they're like, Thank you, Jesus. You know, it's like if they could have peace in the moments that were the most physically excruciating because like they had peace in who God was in his plan, like we can find peace in our everyday trials and struggles and tribulations if we trust that the Lord actually cares about us, like he says he does in his word. And um, you know, for me, I tell people all the time, I'm not gonna say enough words to convince you to believe that, but the Lord will give you a revelation of that. And that's more powerful than me being able to convince you into that. Yeah. And so, man, I don't know, maybe pause it right here if you want. Just pause the podcast and uh maybe just even take a second to like think on that, maybe pray on it. And it's like where you're at right now, like, how can you find peace in the Lord and give everything over to him so that he can start to weed things out and really allow you to blossom and grow like he has planned for you? That's so good, man.

SPEAKER_02

And I know like a lot of my business, quote unquote, business stress was a lot of personal choices that I was making that I equated to business problems when really it was self-problems. Yeah, you know, like you said, and you know, you know, just practically speaking, like uh it's what was crazy is like a lot of my business problems disappeared when I worked on my personal problems. Yeah, it's crazy, man. Like somehow God's moving now, and it's like, no, dude, you just stopped doing drugs. Yeah, like yeah, crazy, crazy, dude. Like, uh, you know, I had my in-laws over, shout out to my in-laws, I love them. But uh, you know, over the last two and a half years, I haven't had a drop of alcohol. I haven't, you know, haven't had any like illegal substances or anything. And praise God. I uh I was talking to my friend the other day. Yeah, thank you. I um I needed him to do it. Um I was talking to my friend the other day, and my in-laws are staying with us. And me and my mother-in-law, like like we love each other, but we would like naturally butt head. She's an assertive woman, and I can be an assertive man sometimes. And um, you know, we would just naturally butt heads. The craziest thing though, dude, in the last two years, our relationship has flowered into pretty great, like amazing. Having butted head not really, not one time. Um, they're enjoyable to be around. Yeah. Uh, you know, when they come and visit, like I'm like, yeah, please stay with us. Like, we want you to stay, like, come, you know, it's great. And I was having a conversation with my wife the other day. I was like, or I'm sorry, with my friend. And I was like, man, it's so crazy. Like in the last two and a half years, like they're actually pretty awesome. Yeah. He just kind of looked at me. He's like, Have they changed much? Or do you think you changed? And I was like, Good. Well, yeah, you're probably right. Yeah, I definitely did a lot of changes. My in-laws definitely have changed as well. My mother-in-law has like got a lot of freedom and stuff, but it's crazy how personal relationships, financial problems, um, you know, just business problems, relational, like all the things. The more you build yourself and you improve yourself, you get better. It's incredible how other aspects of your life uh will get better. And, you know, I think a lot of it too, man, you know, with with the Lord and and stress and anxiety and pressures, like it really does come down to like your personal identity and like who you are. Like who what do you believe that you are?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um man, and that's not something we can probably like fix in one podcast episode. And you know, I would love to dig deeper into that topic because it is such a um it is such a a deep topic that needs to be like more talked about. Um, you know, because for for me, I mean, dude, like I I lived for years with a dark cloud over my head. You know, I felt alone in the world, I felt like no one understood me. I could be in a room with a hundred people, everyone saying they're love me, and I'm like, you don't even know me. Yeah, you know, yeah, but um, you know, because a lot of it was I was hiding stuff that no one knew about. Yeah, I had secrets, I had, you know, just addictions that I weren't honest about. I was hiding things. And when we're hiding things, man, it puts you in hiding, and you feel like no one understands me because you're not letting people understand you. Yeah, it's good. Um, you know, and that was a big part of my story.

SPEAKER_00

That's good, yeah. Yeah, like we had written down here, peace isn't circumstantial.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, dude. Um you have to choose it, dude. Yeah, like I like I said earlier, man, I believe so long, so for so long that like stress, financial business, that God would just like grant me these wishes. Yeah. And dude, you have to partner with the Lord and make good choices. Yeah. Like you do. I mean, uh, I have a buddy, uh, you know, he's kind of more like in the new age kind of spectrum of uh spirituality, but uh he was like, you know, the first spiritual principle everyone needs to get is if you're tired of feeling like or if you're if you're tired of feeling like crap, stop making crappy choices.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And if you want to feel good, make good choices. And I'm like, that is so good. Like it's so freaking good. Because if you are making bad choices, you will feel bad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And if you don't, you need to watch yourself because that's how you get in real trouble. Yeah. But if you make good choices, you will feel good. Yeah. Like plain and simple, cut and dry.

SPEAKER_00

There's two things I always say to myself when I feel like I'm losing control a little bit, like mentally. Like I always tell myself, be where your feet are and make the next right decision. Yeah. Amen. Like if core value number one, do the next right thing. Do the next right thing. That's what we talk about in the business all the time. Like, like just do the next right thing, be where your feet are. Because I think what causes a lot of stress too is trying to, we've talked about this before in the podcast, I believe. Um, I think, um, but like not being present in the moment. Yeah. You know, is like, um, actually, this might have been the podcast we recorded that was super good. Yeah. And our audio was completely messed up. We had to delete it. Um, but we talked about like what causes a lot of stress and anxiety is not being present, which brings me to I I want to talk about family. I feel like this is really important because family is huge and they're a gift from the Lord. And sometimes in life and in business, as we're growing something, we're passionate about what we do. Yeah. We want to see it grow. Um, I know you have a you know decent amount on this topic. You've walked through this yourself. You have a wife and five kids.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like you've been grinding for 13 plus years, you know, like, you know, kind of this reality of like family like can't get left behind. But sometimes we have to give more to the business to get where it's going, um, while still properly loving our family and our spouses. And is there like mixture of the two things? Is there work-life balance? Does that not actually exist? And and guys, I just want to say what we talk about on the podcast is what we believe and are experiencing like right now. Real time. Uh, there's things I say all the time that I'm like, you know, a couple of years from now, I may not even agree with, but like right now, you shouldn't agree with them because you're growing. Yeah, exactly. So I that's kind of what I want to just pivot to a little bit here, is like, you know, let's talk about family and life and what that looks like. Because a lot of our listeners are, you know, detailers, business owners, or we're very invested into a company. Yeah. And dude, trying to build something that you're excited about and you have big aspirations for, uh, has it pulls a lot. And it's like, so what does that look like? How do we manage that? And is work-life balance a real thing or is it all BS?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I mean, I'm not a um, you know, uh uh, I don't have a master's degree on uh family relations or whatever, but you know, uh the only thing I can express is like my you know, just my experience. Um I I personally don't really believe in work-life balance. I don't um I'm an all-in or all out kind of guy, you know, like I'm either in it or I'm out of it. Um I have found that my family doesn't need as much of my time as uh as they don't need as much of my time, they just need good quality time. Let me let me I there's probably a better way to polish that up better. But like with my business, and I struggle with this because like I love, I kind of I love what I do now. Yeah. Um, you know, I there is times, sorry guys, there are times where I am working extremely long hours, extreme days. And my wife will call me like, babe, when are you coming home? When are you coming on? Babe, I'll be home in 30 minutes. Two hours later I'm home, you know. And it's not it's not great, but there are times where I'm home. I go on vacations, I do the thing. So, you know, I think what makes family really easy is when you have a compatible spouse, first and foremost. Um my wife is absolutely incredible. Um, she wants me to pursue my dreams, she wants me to be successful, she allows me the space to do that. And, you know, I've you know, I have friends, I've got um, you know, several friends that like their wives don't allow them that they're they need them home, they need them, you know, to wake up next to them in the morning. Like my wife doesn't like if I come home at seven o'clock at night, as long as I can be present and fully there for an hour, like that's it. Like she she's good with that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um, you know, so I think having a great compatible spouse is like one will make your life ten times easier. Yeah. Now, with the balance of work and life, and I think there's there's times, there's seasons for everything, right? There's seasons for family, there's seasons for business. And I find the more you communicate, the more you're up front, the more you have an understanding of your wife's needs, yeah, you know, versus maybe her wants or desires, but like if she genuinely needs quality time, it's like you can spend 45 minutes, an hour, two hours on a Saturday with undivided attention, you know, full of quality time, and that will fill her love tank for the entire week. Yeah, you know, at least with my wife, she's a uh quality time type of person. Um, there's other people that need gifts, there's other people that need uh words of affirmation. So, you know, just like you study business, just like you study um, you know, curriculum in school to like learn the material, you've got to learn your family as well. And you know, a lot of the times where men mess up is we try to love our families the way we want to be loved.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And, you know, your your wife isn't like that. Like I'm I can be somewhat of a you know, sexual, physical touch. And my wife is not that way at all.

SPEAKER_00

I was on a TikTok today and I sent it to my wife. It was uh this guy, he was like hugging his wife, and he had like his head like in her like neck, and it was and she was like this kind of, yeah, and it said it said, My husband's love language is uh physical touch, sex, but mine is mine is uh like like uh acts of service, and there's still dishes in the sink. And I was like exactly I was like, that is exactly my wife dude.

SPEAKER_02

I mean 100%. So, like, I mean, family time, okay. When when I come home after a long day, if I come home and I just simply go home and I'm like, babe, I'm sorry I worked late. I know she's like stressed out with the kids, and I just simply ask, babe, what can I do to help you? Dude, it is like lights out. She's like, Oh my gosh, you know, like doing the dishes, uh, you know, helping put the kids to bed. It's like the little things in life, man, um, that really go a long way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Now, there's the other side of that where I was years ago, where it's like I'd work super late, super long hours, come home pissed, angry, you know, may have had a couple drinks, and you know, just complaining about the house, you know, the house is always dirty. I work all hard all day, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You know, like that's how you have a very unhealthy business life, you know, work life balance. Yeah. What is your take? Because I just answered a very long-winded, you know, aspect of that. But like, what is your what is your idea of work life balance? Yeah. So well, because, you know, let me kind of brag on you. Like, Noah puts in tons of hours here uh at Revival. He's a sales director, texting, emailing, calling, pros, taking care of people. But then you're also a pastor. Like most people don't even know that, really. But like you're a church uh youth group pastor on Wednesday nights. You just did a whole week at summer camp. Yeah, uh, your kids having surgery, um, and you you're on call or you know, on staff at a church all Sunday. So it's like I mean, you work a crazy amount too. So where's that balance for you?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, dude. I so man, the pastor of disaster.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So this is actually a really interesting one for me, uh, because I don't feel like I've cornered the answer. Yeah. Um I think it's really important to know like what for each family, like if you're watching this thing, it's super important to know what is important to you and your family. Because I think, okay, I'll be I'm gonna be so vulnerable here, like so real. So uh the other day, it was probably a little over a week ago. I was talking about, I came home pretty late. I forget what we were doing. We were doing something here, and and I told my wife the same thing. I was like, I'll be home in 30. It was like two hours later, and uh, we were getting stuff done, and I'm excited about it because I'm like, we're growing and making things happen. And and uh so my wife, we were sitting on the couch, and uh I kind of got like a little arrogant with her, like about coming home late. Like she was kind of making comments, and I was like, Well, you want a roof over your head, don't you know? Like kind of honestly being just a butt. Like I was just kind of in that mood, and that happens sometimes. I hate it, but and um and she's like, Well, in case I haven't made it clear, I would rather have you here than make more money.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So I think that it definitely depends on the season, yeah, right, where there's grace. We have a seven-month-old baby uh who was get we were getting ready to walk into surgery. We had a week of camp coming up, and this was right before that. So things are about to get crazy for us. And I think there was this moment where she was just kind of like, hey, I don't really care about all the other stuff. Like, I need you here and present right now. And I think I think that for me is like is super important, is like knowing what you're the grace uh of your family and where that's at in each season. Because I do believe there are times where like, you know, she doesn't need me there as much physically, and we're grinding away and we're heading into busy season with the business, um, or we have church stuff coming up. The cool thing about the pastoring side of my life um and and being a youth pastor is she does it with me. Yeah. So um, we are technically the youth pastors. So like she's there every Wednesday night, she's there on Sundays. If we talk to Students, we're together. So I think it's really cool that like that doesn't necessarily pull me away like from the family. We actually get to do that together. So there's a lot of grace on that side of things. Um, but my wife also works, so she works a few days a week and then has the boys. And so like life is busy, it's crazy. Yeah, and we're constantly going. And I think the biggest thing for us has just been like communication is huge. Like you can fix a lot of things in your life and in your marriage with just better communication. Yeah, absolutely. Because what happens is when your life's going like this and you feel like you're passing your spouse, your girlfriend, whatever it is, your husband, like when your life's going like that and you're not communicating, then what starts happening is you both start believing lies uh that don't exist at all. Yeah. And then you start acting out of those things, and then both of you are mad at each other, and you're like, you just like you grow apart, and these things happen. And at the end of the day, neither of you actually felt the way you think you do. Yeah. You just don't communicate. Sure. And so for me, I feel like there's a lot of grace for a lot of work. Um, and like, you know, in in scripture, a verse that's been kind of getting me a lot is like it says that a good man leaves an inheritance to his kid's kid. Yeah. And then also the story in scripture where, you know, the the guy's going away and he leaves the talents with the three different servants, and you know, one the first guy gets the talents and he multiplies it. The second guy gets the talents uh money and he multiplies it, and then the third guy just takes the talents and he buries it in a hole, you know. And then the the guy comes back and he's like, What'd you guys do with the money I left you with? And these guys are all excited, they're like, Hey, we multiplied what you gave us. And the last guy's like, Well, I buried it in a hole because I didn't want it to get hurt or lose it or whatever. And he gave the Lord in this story, gave the guys with the talents who multiplied it more. And then the guy who buried it in a hole, he's like, Give me that back if you're not gonna steward it well. So I think like Well, Annie took from the one that had the least and gave it to the most. Exactly. You know, so it's like to me, like, I think the Lord wants us to. It also says in scripture, the Lord will give you the desires of your heart. And like when you surrender to the Lord, he will put desires in your heart, is what that scripture means, and he will bring them to fulfillment if you trust him. Yeah. So like having a business, having a dream, seeing a big vision for something, like is actually really important and it's biblical. Uh scripture also says, and I'm sorry, I know I'm throwing out a million scriptures, but scripture also says that without vision, people perish. Yeah. So it's like there's the other side of like, like, if you don't have anything in life that you have vision for, you're dreaming for, that you're going after, like, you're gonna feel like a bum and kind of like a loser and like you're not going after anything. So I think it's setting an example for your family that, hey, we work hard, we go after the things the Lord's given us a desire for, and we use our gifts and talents to feed into where the Lord has us, and we do it to glorify him. Because if I came to work and all I was thinking about was my family and I wasn't invested here and I didn't pour a lot of time in here, and I got out of here as soon as I could, well, then I wouldn't be honoring and glorifying the Lord through the opportunity he's given me to work at revival. Yeah. So it goes both ways. Sure. And then if I go home and my wife needs my attention and help with dishes and putting kids in bed and all that, like you said, and I'm on my phone ignoring her and replying to the people now at work, then I'm not investing and giving my attention to the thing that the Lord blessed me with at home, which is my family. So work-life balance is when you're in the places that you're in, you're fully invested and intentional in those places. So good. In some seasons, it might be a lot of business time and we're at the office a lot because we're growing and building something the Lord's gave us. Yeah. Or we're at home a lot. And because, dude, here's the reality: this thing blows up more than it already has, and the Lord blesses us, and then we're retiring early, and now I'm spending way more time with my family than anybody else because I stewarded early on and what the Lord gave us, and now the Lord gets to bless me on the back end with everything I desired, which was being with my family more, and I'm taking vacations and not having to stress about finances because I stewarded what he gave me well. So that's my idea of work-life balance is not necessarily four hours a day to this, four hours a day to this, but when you're in those seasons and situations, you're fully intentional and fully invested.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Dude, that's so good. Yeah. You know, back to the communication thing. Um, you know, years ago, my wife would tell me, like, I want you home on Saturdays. And I'm like, babe, you don't understand. We gotta, we gotta grind, we gotta make money. Like, if I don't work on Saturdays, we're gonna lose, you know, 15% of our income, blah, blah, blah. And I had to, you know, kind of touching back on stress and the family thing, I had to trust God. Yeah. And I'm like, you know what, God? I'm going to choose to not work on the weekends.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like, if you watch any success podcasts, even the ones I love and follow, they're like, if you don't work on Saturdays, you're gonna be broke. You know, and I'm like, I dude, I prayed and I was like, Lord, I'm not gonna work on Saturdays and Sundays. Like I'm out like Friday, I'm done. Like some, I I I could probably count on one hand the amount of days I actually worked on a Saturday. Yeah. Um, you know, honestly, probably maybe two or three times in the last three years that I actually worked on a weekend. Now, will I, you know, jump on the computer, maybe answer an email, or you know, maybe edit a video or something and you know, during nap time. Yeah, you're a business owner. But I'm not like I'm not like in the office or like detailing boats, man. And that was a big stretch for me, dude. Because like Saturday is a big day for detailing, you know.

SPEAKER_00

And what's cool is like, guys, there there's actually a guy at our church who who uh wrote a book uh called The Unfair Advantage uh in business. Yeah. And you know what's so cool about being a Christ follower? Jim Harris is actually a pretty good book. Yeah, I actually thought about how I was like, maybe we should pull him on sometime. He knows how to podcast. So yeah. Um, but you know, it's the reality that like when you walk with the Lord, like you also get discernment in your spirit um and grace for seasons that are beyond your knowledge and understanding. Yeah. So as a believer, um, and I understand if you don't walk with the Lord, what I'm about to say makes zero sense, and that's okay. But when I walk with the Lord, there are gonna be seasons where the Lord will convict my spirit and he'll be like, hey, you don't know this, but your wife is not telling you this, but she really needs you home more right now. And I have to trust that the Lord's gonna take care of my business and my family. And my only responsibility is to be obedient to the Lord in that moment and know that he's got my back and he's not giving me things to just strip it away. Yeah. And ultimately at the end of the day, he's the one that brings growth and he's the one that that brings success. And so if he's telling me to do something, all I have to do is be obedient. Yeah. So that's the cool thing about walking with the Lord too, is like, and working with you in a business that follows and trusts the Lord, it's like I could be like, hey, like I know we've been pulling 10, 12 hour days doing all this stuff, but it's like, you know, I really feel like the Lord wants me to, you know, make cut my days back a little bit and make sure I'm here. Like this where the Lord has me right now, or hey, I need to go to youth camp to pour into these kids. And it's like, hey, Noah, like take the week and do what the Lord's calling you to do. It's just so cool. It's like the Lord has your life in his hands and he loves you and he cares for you and he wants you to succeed. Yeah. Like he's not against you. Like, I don't know, like that's such a lie of the enemy in our world, is like there's a big angry God in the sky who as soon as you mess up or trip, he's gonna strike you down with lightning. God hates money, yeah, yeah. Money's the root of all evil. Yeah, and it's just like there's so many lies out there. Yeah, there's just so many lies out there. And it's like, I wish people, I wish people could feel and experience like what we have, like walking with the Lord and trusting him, like in the peace that he brings in the hardest of times. And because dude, I don't know how people do it without the Lord when they walk through like serious, serious moments of doubt and stress and anxiety. Like, and that's a lot of times where people find the Lord because they get to the end of themselves and they're like, I literally cannot do this anymore. And so, man, it's cool. It's we literally have an unfair advantage in this life and in this business by being able to trust the Lord uh and lean into his wisdom and his ways. And so I know this is like a super faith-heavy, uh Jesus heavy podcast, but I just really feel like even if it's one person out there, like I really feel like the Lord wanted us to do this and it's gonna change somebody's life and business forever. Yeah, man. And we're just gonna lean in and trust him on that. And so I that's why I'm just like kind of overjoyed and super passionate about this topic. Yeah, man. Yeah. And and you know, we talked a lot about a spouse, but like children.

SPEAKER_02

You know, let's, you know, for me, I've got five, you've got two, right? Yeah, two. You know, I I personally believe like one of the best things you can show your children is how to chase their dreams. Yeah. You know, you know, how many like you know, you we hear all the time, like when you're a kid, you hear all the time, or at least I did. It's like you could be anything you want. You can be this, you can be the president, you can do this, you can do that. But then you see, you know, your, I'm not really necessarily talking about my parents, but like you see your parents or your aunts or uncles, whatever, they're just like settling, yeah. Hate their job, complaining, drinking on the weekends, you know, live for NFL Sunday, yeah, and like, damn, I gotta go back to work. But they're telling you as a five-year-old that you can be the president.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And everyone you see around, they're like miserable and hate their lives. And it confuses the heck out of you. And you're like, can I actually be anything I want?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. If you can, then why are you so miserable? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, and there's like a thing that happens around high school where they're like, all right, let's be real. Yeah, like let's be practical. Those are for the one percenters, you know, those are for the other people. Everyone gets the same speech, like those are for the other people. Yeah. Like, what do you actually want to be? Like, you can be a cop, you can be a firefighter, like, you know, get a good job, make good grades. But I think, man, like one of the best things you can do for your children and your family is show them work ethic, show them how to trust the Lord. Yeah, show them how to um handle financial pressure, show them how to trust God with your dreams, show them how to wake up early, work out, eat right, you know, grind. Yeah, like you are actually raising future adults.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You know, that was a big parenting shift that I had to, and I'm I'm still not perfect at it, but it's like you're not raising kids, you're raising future adults. Like as a parent, it is our job to make sure they are successful humans, like successful adults. Well, how do you do that? You show them what it looks like to work your freaking butt off, dude. And and and actually pursue your dreams. And like, like my I'm we're an open book in my family. Like my kids have seen me cry at the table, like they've seen me in my absolute worst, they've seen me at my best. You know, they've been there through like thick and thin. Yeah, um, not by their choice, but it's like we, you know, I I had a conversation with my son um a couple weeks ago, man. Like, you know, he was kind of messing with the sister, and like we had a real talk about like self-control. Yeah. And he opened up to me about like, I just I'm sorry, I get angry and I just don't know how to control myself. I was like, dude, you've got to learn this. Yeah. Because like when you're an adult, there's real consequences when you don't practice self-control. You can't smack a woman in real life, like when you're older, you know, and like training them through that. And I and I gave him my story about like when I lost self-control. And I was like, you know, remember a couple years ago, like when we couldn't really buy groceries?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And he was like, Yeah. I was like, Do you know why that happened? And he was like, Um, you know, because business was hard. And I was like, you know why why business was hard? Uh no. And I was like, because I told my business partner to go F himself. Yeah. You know, and and I and I blew up a situation, and you know, he he did, he retaliated because I was a turd.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I was like, just like you and your sister, like you were in an argument, she retaliated after what you said. And I'm like, in real life, there's real consequences. Yeah. And I was like, what I had to do is learn how to control myself, learn how to choose like peace over, you know, anger. That's good. And you know, teaching your kids this, like, this can all be done on a Saturday while you're working Monday through Friday. Yeah, like you don't need to spend, you know, four days at work, four days at home, like you said. Um, you know, it it really is about your intent, your heart's desires, and and genuinely being truly present. And you're not gonna be perfect. I'm not perfect, you know.

SPEAKER_00

I think I think it helps too with all of this to kind of ask yourself, and literally I mean this, like ask yourself, like, what does success actually look like? Because, you know, I was when we were working on our notes and coming into the podcast, like, you know, asking yourself, like, what does success like for me look like? And and then kind of going from there, and a couple of things, um, you know, that for me that I just kind of wrote down, um, is like success for me is like faith, character, family, integrity, peace, um, impact. Like all of those things are success for me. Do I hope and pray that the Lord blesses me financially? Absolutely. I told my wife the other day, I want to live on the water and I want to have a boat that literally in the evenings we can go hop on, go cruise around for a little bit, and then come back. Like, like that is my heart. And I'm like, Lord, if that's your will for me, do it. Like, do it. But that is not like the measurement of success in my mind. Like the measurement of success in my mind is that I'm a man of integrity and and and and character, and that I have an impact on people and my family, and I'm a good husband. And guys, here's the reality through those things, through those things comes worldly success, right? That's just how it happens. And then, like, you know, started asking myself, like, if success to me is money, right? If success is a billion-dollar company, if like that is the measure of success in your mind, then you have to ask yourself, what is that billion-dollar company worth sacrificing? You know what I mean? You have to, because if that is the measure of success in your mind, then you got to understand there are going to be things in your life that are very important that you're going to have to sacrifice and let go of. And so for me, it's like when I focus on integrity and character and impact in people's lives, I know that I can do that through the power of Christ inside of me and implement that in my business and have the most success from that. And success follows. It's it's it's it's who it's what we do, it's what we are. I mean, we talk about that all the time in our staff meetings. I mean, Drake has brought that to us of like, be like the best person you can be, do the right thing, go over and above for people. Like, if you walk by trash in the office, I don't care if it's not your job, pick it up. Like, because that's who we are, it's what we do. And if that's our if that's our foundation and that's our standard, like then naturally people are gonna be are gonna gravitate towards us and our business because that's how we honor and treat people. Yeah. And then through that, man, success will come. So I I kind of saw a look on your face. I feel like you have uh you have something on on that a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I just hear people walking in and out of the building. Oh, okay. No, but I think um, you know, I think one of the I mean get my thoughts together real quick. You know, I I guess uh everything you just said is like almost summed up and is like success isn't about what you do, it's like who you are. Yeah, you know, yeah, it's good. And it sounds kind of cheesy, but you know, God honestly cares more about who we become versus what we do. Yeah. And dude, for years I would pray like what do I do? What do I do? What do I do? Do I do this business? Do I do that business? Do I do this? Do I do that? Do I do this? I don't know the right thing to do. And I don't know, I I don't know what I can't tell you the day, the time, the revelation, whatever I can't tell you. But I know that over time I realize like God, sure, there's things that it's like I have to do, but I don't think God is so much concerned about so much about what I do as to who I am becoming. Exactly. And you know, everything, uh being present with your family, uh, you know, that that you have to be a disciplined person, you know, to come home tired and not yell at everyone that the house is dirty.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You know, you become a disciplined man, you become a man of integrity, you become someone that carries peace and joy into every situation. Uh, same with the trash, like there's trash on the ground. You become a person that leaves things better than how you found it. It's not even about picking up the trash, it's about becoming a person that leaves things better than how you found it. It's good. If something needs to be done, you do it. That's who you are. You're a doer. You are you take initiative in life. So I think a lot of, especially young people, they get so mixed up on their calling, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Um, my number one most asked question amongst youth and young adults is calling.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, exactly. And so, like so many young people get so stressed out. What does God want me to do with my life? What does God want me to do with my life? What does God want me to do with my life? And you can honestly spend so many years paralyzed by that. Yeah. Um, because honestly, God's probably like, dude, just freaking do something, but do it my way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Do it with integrity, do it with love. Yeah. Now, yes, there are people that are genuinely called to this planet to be pastors, prophets, you know, uh evangelists, um, and and business people or mothers, like I do feel like there are actual assignments that God does, and that's a whole nother theology topic. But for the for the vast majority of people, you know, the saints, it says in the Bible, like, you know, the fivefold ministry and the rest of the to equip the saints. Yeah, most people are saints, you know, like we are just everyday people. You know, I feel like the Lord would love me just as much if I was cutting grass, pressure washing homes, becoming a doctor, yeah, selling boat care products. You know, I had this joke years ago. I'm like, God, did you really need a boat washer on this earth? Yeah. It's like the truth is, no. Like God did not need a really good boat detailer. Yeah. Um, but what he did was is he needed a man that was completely jacked up to transform his life and now somehow, some way turn that into helping other people to do the same thing.

SPEAKER_00

To now sitting and doing a podcast, encouraging people to follow him through the life that you've had to live in brokenness and surrender.

SPEAKER_02

This is what's so crazy, okay? Years ago, I, you know, I've done missions work all over. I've been to India, Nepal, Africa, um, Jordan, Egypt. I've been to all these countries, dude. And I felt like this is what God wants me to do ministry. Like, I am to be a missionary, to go heal the sick, raise the dead, you know, cleanse the leopard, like all this stuff. And there's nothing wrong with that, like at all. But I remember, I mean, that's all great. And nothing wrong with that. That's all amazing. But I also had a really big strong for business. I've had pastors tell me I needed to die to that. Money's the root of all evil. You need to repent for your love of money, all this stuff. And there was elements and layers to that that I did have to release, let go of. Um, sometimes God will let tell you to lay your dream down because your dream is actually an idol. And you do have to slay those giants. You do have to lay those down, but then God will bring it back in a really holy, righteous, beautiful way. But the point I'm trying to make is that I feel like God, you know, I've had people prophesy over me. The Lord told me, like, you, you know, your message will go around the world. Like you are you were to preach to the nations, like you're all this stuff. And I thought in my mind, like, okay, I'm gonna be a pastor and I'm gonna travel the world. So I did missions work, I did all this stuff. And what's crazy is that five years ago, very unintentionally, started my YouTube channel. And just by, I don't know really how I talked about God a few times, but like just by like, I guess, how I communicate, how I treat people, how I talk, I would have people comment in countries I've never heard of, and they were like, I knew something was different about you. Yeah, it's good. And then you mentioned God in this post. Yeah, dude, like you've helped me grow my business. Yeah, so like what people thought and are such limited, boxed little mindset that I could have was that, oh, it has to look this way. It's like, no, man, like if I just obey, I do the best I can. You know, God gave me this seemingly insignificant talent of cleaning crap, but I've multiplied it. Yeah, it's like God goes, okay, here's more. Yeah, you know, here's here's what it I remember um you know, our pastor Arnie preached uh a couple months ago about like your seemingly insignificant talent that you have. And it's like so many people, you know, some get the five talents, some get the two, or you know, some get the one. And the guy with the one goes, dude, I have like nothing compared to this guy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But it's like, what are you gonna do with that seemingly insignificant talent? And for me, like let's face it, washing cars and boats is not super sexy. Like it's not like on the top five uh career paths that middle schoolers uh choose. You know, you want to be doctors, lawyers, president. You know, very people, very rarely do people say, I want to grow up and wash cars. Yeah. Um, but I took that and I trusted God with it. I did the absolute best that I could and growing my business, and then I took another step and I posted YouTube videos, and now we make products, and yeah, it's like God has multiplied it. The more faithful I've been with it, the more content I've been with it. He's like multiplying and multiplying. And the craziest part is like it's literally touching people all around the world in countries that I've never heard of. Yeah, people I've probably never even met, or I've well definitely never have met and never will meet. Yeah, you know, get to benefit from that. And it's all due to just simply trusting the process, trusting the Lord, and uh, you know, staying faithful.

SPEAKER_00

That's good. I always when when I talk about that and think about that, it always brings me back to the story in scripture where Jesus is teaching and people. People are following him and he's like, Hey, we got to feed 5,000 people. Yeah. Right. And they're like, Well, there's this little boy over here who has a sack lunch, five loaves and two fish. And they were like, Well, what are we going to do with that? And but in the hands of Jesus, it multiplied and it multiplied and multiplied and multiplied and multiplied. And they ended up feeding 5,000 people. Actually, more than that, because they only counted the men. Um, but they 5,000 people, and then they collected all the excess because there was so much more. And it all came from a little boy who had five loaves and two fish, and he was like, Hey Lord, like here's what I got. And in the hands of Jesus, you know, who knows where it can go?

SPEAKER_02

You know what's crazy is like every significant big breakthrough moment in my life, I was I never had enough to fulfill it. Yeah. Never, never once. Like, you know, just a practical example, like the house we live in now. You know, it was about double the amount uh in a mortgage payment than we were used to that we could even afford. But it was a great opportunity, but it was like scary because I'm like, God, we can't afford this. Like, we did our budget. My wife and I, we did our budget, and we're like, we cannot afford this. Yeah, it doesn't add up. The mathing ain't mathing. And but we prayed and we're like, God, I feel like you're telling like this is too good to be true. Like it comes with an 80-inch TV screen. Like, what house comes with an 80-inch screen screen?

SPEAKER_00

It's a given, bro.

SPEAKER_02

It comes with a brand new washer and dryer, like, you know, all of this stuff. And it was literally almost double what we're normal used to paying. But we prayed, we sought counseling, and I'm like, I don't know, dude. I think we're just supposed to see what happens. Yeah, find out. We prayed, we did it. We signed the paperwork, we got into it, and literally to this day, we have had enough money, yeah, more than enough, to pay that, live a good life, yeah, and go. You know, starting the business, like we invested money into this, trusting God. I'm like, God, what if we lose all of this money? You know, the the $50,000 we invested, the year and a half of labor without a dime of pay, what if we launch this out and it completely flops and we literally sold that much in the first month when we thought we were gonna make that in the entire year. So good, bro. And it's like usually when we come to God with our seemingly insignificant, insignificance, and we're just like, I'm gonna trust you, I'm gonna do the best I can with this. Like, let's see what happens.

SPEAKER_00

That's good.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I used to say that let's see what happens in a negative way, but now it's like, dude, excitement. Like, even with this podcast, like let's see what happens. Yeah, when you texted me the other day, we're like, Man, can we talk about God? And I was like, we can do whatever the frick we want. It's our podcast. We'll do what we want. That's so good, bro. I think that's it, man. You got any last thoughts?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, dude, honestly, I just feel like I'm supposed to pray. Yeah, cool.

SPEAKER_02

I was actually feeling that too. I was gonna let you do it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm I'm just gonna pray. And um, man, if you've made it this far with us, oh that I it's so weird. Good job. Like, yeah, I just like really, really feel like this this episode is like gonna be life-changing for somebody. And I don't think because we said anything groundbreaking, but because of what the Lord was already doing in your heart.

SPEAKER_02

Crazy is like like this is all everyday stuff for us, but dude, like some people may not have even pondered this information.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's so good. So, anyways, I'm gonna pray and then we can uh we can close this thing out to honor and respect your guys' time. So, Lord, I just want to say, uh man, thank you. Thank you for and just being with us. Lord, thank you for uh creativity, uh dreams, and desires. Lord, thank you for everyone that's uh watching or listening to the podcasts. Lord, I pray that you, God, would just God, just show them your love. Like that's that's my biggest prayer is Lord, like would you just let them feel your love? God just feel like there's people watching this right now who have been grinding away and they're feeling defeated, they're feeling broken. God, they're feeling like nobody sees them or hears them. God, and I just pray that your love would overwhelm them right now. And for the first time in a long time or maybe ever, they feel hope and peace in their heart and in their mind. God, I pray that through what we do, the words we speak, the integrity we walk in, Lord, that we would glorify you. God, that we would be able to expand the kingdom of God through the way we live our lives. Uh, Lord, I pray that you would take the hard-heartedness, God, and some of the people we come in contact with, or maybe who are watching this or hearing this, Lord, and you would start to soften hearts. Uh, Lord, that you would just show up in a mighty way where we can't be physically. Lord, you go and you are with people spiritually. You're there with them. God, I pray that you would give uh people watching this, Lord, whether they're business owners or maybe have aspirations to step out in faith and do something. Lord, I pray that you would give them wisdom and you would give them boldness and you would give them peace. Uh, Lord, I specifically also feel to pray for anyone watching this right now who has uh financial uh stress and pressure right now. Uh God, I just pray that you would bring them peace in their situation. Uh Lord, I pray that you would bring breakthrough in their situation. Lord, I pray that even though the debt may seem insurmountable, Lord, there's a reality that you already paid all of our debt, Lord, so that we can walk in peace and enjoy. And Lord, in the physical realm of debt and money and finances, Lord, I pray that it's the moment that they decide to surrender and lay those things down and trust you, Lord, that you're able to step in, God, and be able to provide those needs for people. Um, yeah, Lord, I just honestly just pray that you do whatever you want to do with this podcast, with this episode, Lord, that it would reach somebody, speak to somebody's heart, uh, Lord, that somebody may come to know you for the first time through just listening to our story. And although, you know, we're not perfect and we're trying to figure this thing out as we go to, uh, Lord, we are surrendered to you and we trust you. And uh, you've just been so good to us. And so we just wanted to share that today. So thank you, Lord. Uh, thank you for everybody who's listening and hears this in Jesus' name.

SPEAKER_02

Amen. Amen. Let me pray real quick to you, man. God, I just thank you. I just thank you for today. God, I thank you for what you've done in my life, Noah and Caroline over there, switching the cameras around. God, I just thank you for our business, God. I thank you for everyone listening. I feel like there's like one person in particular that's listening that the Lord wants you to know that you're seen. Um you're not alone. And uh I don't know, man. I just like it's kind of crazy. I I just kind of feel I I literally could just be making this up, maybe, but I just feel like there's somebody that's listening right now that's actually contemplating suicide. And it's like super heavy. I don't even know if I could say this on YouTube, but I just say like the Lord is saying, like, you're valuable. You are valuable. Um God's children are not worthless. Um I just feel like there's been bad decisions that were made, and there's um a repent of uh there's cleaning up to do. And I just thank you, God, that right now uh you would feel peace, joy, and a sense of purpose and calling. Um, I thank you for intuitive thoughts, like things that used to baffle you, like I'm so confused, I don't know what to do, I don't know who to be, blah, blah, blah. Like literally, there'd just be like a calmness right now, like still waters. God, I just thank you that uh everyone that's listening, God, would just have a peaceful, joyful day, home happy, um, have clarity in their business, clarity in their lives, clarity on direction, clarity on who they're supposed to be. Um and I thank you that we get the opportunity to do what we do every day. I thank you that you ripped me out of darkness. I thank you that you took me uh from addiction, God. You set me free. Um, and you ultimately give me the strength and courage to stay free. Not just get free, but stay free. Um, in Jesus' name, amen. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

That's what we got, man. Got it. Yeah, yeah. Love you guys.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, share this episode with someone. Um, if this was any valuable to you at all, share this with someone. I challenge you. Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

It's honestly a life changer trickles down from and making yourself better.
