Good morning, this is Sentinel's RV, your GCR Daily Brief. Your daily read on the Dinar, the Dong, and the whole GCR. I'm Truman Vale. It's Thursday, july ninth. And if you're looking at your calendar trying to figure out which date to circle next, well, you're in good company. Because the chatter this morning is absolutely full of them. Let's walk through what's actually new and what we're watching from here. Last time we talked, the big thing on the calendar was Iraq's cabinet vote. Parliament seating those final ministers. And we were watching to see if that moved the story forward. Here's where we are now. That vote did happen, the cabinet is seated. And now the next concrete date everybody's looking at is july fifteenth. Ten days from when I'm talking to you. That's when Prime Minister Al Zaidi is scheduled to fly to Washington for a sit down at the White House. Word is he's bringing a 2027 budget that's been reshaped with IMF guidance, and the hope is he'll lock in deals on American trade access, energy partnerships, and customs digitization. If you're following the Dinar story, that's the meeting where people think the big announcements could happen. A joint oil deal, revenue sharing sorted, maybe even a nod toward currency moves. It's a real date. It's on the calendar and it's less than a week out. So that's the headline to watch. Now layered on top of that, there's a whole flurry of very near term timing calls, and I mean this week. This weekend, early next week. One of the things going around is that tomorrow, july tenth, is a significant date for Iraq's custom system. The claim is that the ASYCUDA customs platform, that's the digital system Iraq's been rolling out to replace paper records at the borders, goes fully mandatory tomorrow. No more paper trail, everything digital. The thinking is that's a necessary step before the currency can move. Because you need clean books and traceable trade flows. So if that actually happens tomorrow, it's another real milestone. We'll see. There's also chatter, and this one's pretty specific, that exchange centers could open tomorrow night. With some saying Friday the tenth is a quote good day for a revaluation in country. And then there's talk that if notifications don't drop by today, Thursday, then they'll come over the weekend, with appointments starting early next week. I'll be honest with you. We've been hearing this week, this weekend, early next week for a while now. Grain of salt. But that's the window people are holding on to, and it's loud enough that I want you to know it's out there. Let's talk dinar. The rate call that keeps coming up is three point twenty two, that reinstatement number. The claim is that after tomorrow, the tenth, the parallel markets in Iraq, that's the official rate and the black market rate, start to align and you'll see the dinar strengthen against the dollar. In a visible day-by-day way. Another piece of the story, Iraq is supposedly conducting what one voice called a fire sale on crude oil right now. Basra, heavy crude, dropped to around $45 a barrel. Basra medium around $47. The claim is they're clearing old inventory at old prices before a revaluation, using first in first out accounting, so the books are clean when the rate moves. Now, I want to be careful here. Oil prices move for a lot of reasons, and calling it a pre-RV fire sale is one person's read, not confirmed fact. But it's an interesting puzzle piece. And it's part of the narrative people are building. The bigger dinar story, the one that actually has legs, is what's happening on the demand side inside Iraq. There's word that Iraqi citizens are starting to trust the dinar over the US dollar for the first time in years. Dollarization has been a drag on the dinar forever. Everybody hoards dollars, nobody wants dinars, and that keeps the value pinned. If that's flipping, if people are unloading dollars and holding dinars, that's real upward pressure on the currency. And if you're planning a revaluation, building that public trust beforehand makes the whole thing easier. So that shift, if it's really happening, is something to watch. One other dinar detail, there's talk that Iraq's foreign currency reserves are strong enough to support intervention in the forex market. The number being cited is that reserves cover about twelve months of imports, which is within safe levels under international standards. And that gives the CBI room to stabilize the Dinar if they need to. That's a good sign if you're looking for currency strength. On the Dong, here's something genuinely new and genuinely good. Vietnam just got reclassified from lower middle income to upper middle income. That's official, that's real, and it's a step forward. And they're still on track for the FTSE Russell Emerging Market upgrade, which is scheduled for September twenty first. That's a big deal. It opens Vietnam to a flood of institutional investment. And it's the kind of thing that supports long-term currency strength. So if you're holding Dong, that's a genuine win to pay attention to. Now look, if you've got the free app and you flagged Vietnam or the Dong in your notifications, you already knew that the moment it posted. You didn't have to wait for me, that's the whole point. You pick exactly which gurus you want to hear from, which currencies you care about. What kinds of claims ping you? Imminent timing, rates, banking updates, whatever. And you mute everything else. So the second something you actually care about drops, it's on your phone. The rest of the noise stays out of your way. It's free, it's at GCRSentinel.com. Not in the app stores yet, but coming soon. And VIP membership is free right now, which is the level that gets you the premium alerts. If you haven't set it up yet, today's a good day. Alright, Zim, not a lot new this morning. The call is still bundled with the broader reset timing. If Tier four B gets notified this week or this weekend, Zim holders are in that group, redemption centers supposedly ready. Nothing's confirmed, but that's the hope. So here's the big picture, the story of the day. Iraq has a seated cabinet, a Washington meeting in six days, and a custom system that reportedly goes fully digital tomorrow. At the same time, we've got multiple voices saying notifications could drop between now and the weekend, rate movement could start after the tenth, and oil prices might be getting cleared in preparation for something bigger. That's a lot of specific dates and a lot of optimism. The thing to remember is that this is largely opinion and rumor. Educated guesses writing off real news, but guesses nonetheless. We've been hearing any day for a long time. Things slip. Intel changes. Nobody truly knows until it's done. So we stay on top of it, we take it with a grain of salt, and we stay smart and calm instead of riding every high and low. Here's what to actually watch. Tomorrow, July 10th. Does that custom system really go mandatory? Do we see any public announcements out of Iraq? And then the 15th, what comes out of that White House meeting? If Prime Minister Al Zaidi and President Trump stand up together and announce an energy deal, a trade framework, anything concrete on currency. That's real, that's public, and that moves the story forward. Between now and then, if notifications drop, we'll all know pretty quick. If they don't, we'll be here talking about what's next. I know you've been at this a long time, I have too. I've circled dates, refreshed screens, felt that exact mix of hope and exhaustion. We're in this together. So let's take the new information, hold it loosely, and keep our heads. If it happens, we'll be ready. If it doesn't, we'll be here tomorrow morning. Before I let you go, if you haven't grabbed the app, it's free, it's at GCRSentinel.com. And it's honestly the thing that makes my mornings work. Everything we just talked about, all in one place, anytime you want it. VIP membership is free right now. Get in while it is. And coming very soon, VIP members will be able to send in questions, and I'll answer them right here on the show. I'm looking forward to that. Alright, that's it for today. I'll see you tomorrow morning. This is Truman Vale. Thanks for listening.
