Focal Reveals Diva Alta Utopia

Focal has unveiled what it describes as its most advanced wireless loudspeaker system to date, introducing the new Diva Alta Utopia, a flagship active speaker developed in collaboration with sister company Naeem. Positioned at the very top of the French manufacturer's portfolio, the Diva Alta Utopia is designed to deliver reference-level audio performance in a single, fully integrated system, eliminating much of the complexity traditionally associated with high-end hi-fi installations. The concept is simple, at least in theory.

Rather than requiring separate amplifiers, streamers, digital processors, and extensive cabling, Diva Alta Utopia combines all of those elements within the loudspeakers themselves, creating a self-contained solution for music, television, and connected home entertainment. Manufactured in France and drawing on the combined expertise of both focal and British electronics specialist Naeem, the system brings together advanced acoustic engineering, integrated amplification, wireless connectivity, and high-resolution streaming technology.

Each loudspeaker houses 600 watts of Naeem-developed Class A B amplification, distributed across four dedicated amplifier channels. By integrating amplification directly into the speakers, Focal says the system can deliver the performance expected from a premium separate system while dramatically reducing installation complexity. Wireless communication between the speakers is handled using ultra-wideband technology, allowing lossless audio transmission at resolutions beyond standard CD quality. The system supports wireless playback of up to 192 kHz 24-bit audio. At the core of the platform is NIME's Pulse Streaming Architecture, capable of handling audio files up to 384 kHz 32-bit resolution. Support is provided for a wide range of streaming services and connectivity options, including Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Kyobo's Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Googlecast, Bluetooth 5.3, and UPNP streaming. The system also includes HDMIEARC connectivity for television integration, allowing it to function as both a high-end music system and a premium TV audio

solution. Visually, the Diva Alta Utopia continues Focal's distinctive design language. The speakers feature sculptural proportions, floating side panels, and a choice of premium felt finishes or hand-finished high-gloss lacquer options, reinforcing their position as statement pieces as much as audio products. And that flagship positioning is reflected in the price. The Focal Diva Alta Utopia is available now, with pricing starting at £165,000 for the felt-finished version and rising to £175,000 for models finished in high gloss lacquer. In other words, this is very much a no-compromise product aimed at the very highest end of the luxury audio market.
