Welcome to the very first episode of The Sunday Lunch Podcast!  Thanks for being here.

In this opening conversation, we share why we created this podcast and the journey that brought us here.

Between us, we've spent most of our lives in and around family businesses. We've grown up in them, worked in them, led them and, at times, survived them. Along the way we've learned that while family business can be incredibly rewarding, it can also bring unique challenges because business, family and relationships are so closely connected.

In this episode we talk about:

• Why so many people feel like they're carrying concerns nobody else can see
• What growing up in family businesses taught us about responsibility, communication and relationships
• The hidden challenges that arise when family and business become intertwined
• What happened when we started working together as a couple
• Why alignment isn't about agreeing on everything
• The lessons we've learned from navigating business, family pressure and life together

Whether you're in business with your partner, your family, or people you've known for years, this episode will help you understand why the conversations we avoid often become the challenges we face.

And we'll leave you with one question to reflect on:

What conversation have you been avoiding?

The Sunday Lunch Podcast is about honest conversations on family business, leadership and relationships — because the most important business conversations rarely happen in the boardroom.

Hosted by Mike Overwater and Lisa Clausen from ekoYOU.
