Hey, welcome fellow Bible bangers to the only podcast that goes chapter by chapter, line by line, through the Word of God. This is Death Charge number nine. Just give it up. Grab your Bible and let's get cracking. The world says, never give up. Hold tighter, grip harder, keep it in your hands. But Jesus calls you to do something different. He says, give it up. Not quit. Not collapse. Not walk away. But lift it up. Open hands. Not clenched fists. Not carrying it anymore. Raised hands. Releasing everything up to him. Cast all your cares on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5.7. Cast it up. Don't carry it down here. Because what you keep in your hands will eventually crush you. What you lift up to him, he holds perfectly. Jesus says, take up your cross daily and follow me. Luke 9.23. But before you can take up the cross, you've got to give everything else out. Upward surrender, upward trust, upward release. Old life, give it up. Fear, give it up. Control, give it up. Your future, your failures, your plans. Give it up to Him. Not buried in you, but lifted to Him. All rights. Put off the old self and put on the new. Ephesians 4, 22 through 24. But the new life starts when the old life is released upward. So the question is not, can you hold it? It's can you lift it? Give it up. Up to him. And in the giving up, you finally rise into what he called you to be.
