He's actually the man behind the lens on all the past episodes. So we're really excited to have him here with us today.
SPEAKER_00I'm really excited to be on this side of the camera. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Uh yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00It's it's definitely a little different being on you know on the reverse side. And uh I feel like it's always a blessing to be a part of it, just listening to you guys have conversations and talk to the various people we've had come through. Um, and I always feel like I get something out of it. Uh and then too, the I find things that I miss when you share those uh shorts and stuff, TikTok, YouTube. I'm like, wow, I did did they say that? I don't remember that. Okay, yeah, well, I'm just gonna eat on that and and you know chew on that again. Yeah. So but it's awesome to be on this side of the uh side of the camera.
SPEAKER_01It's cool. The beautiful thing that that's the funny thing about those clips too, is I do the same thing because like I'll go through the clips and like, oh my goodness, we did talk about that. We did talk about that. Yeah. I'll totally forget because man, when the spirit takes over, yeah, sometimes you don't you don't even know what's going on, you don't know what's being said. Um but without Jesse, just so you guys know, the podcast would not be a thing, more than likely. Um me and dad have zero clue how to work any of the technological stuff. We've got no idea. Jesse is gifted in that, and I believe God has given him that gift for a purpose such as this. And you know, we talked about it um we've talked about in church. I may have done a short on it recently, but I talked about gifts that we have. Right. And how people need to realize that just because you're not behind a pulpit speaking to a congregation, your unique gift is a ministry within itself. Absolutely. Um, you know, with whether it be technology, whether it be art, whether it be music, you have a ministry in whatever gift it is that you have. You just have to realize that you need to be stewarding your gift in in the right way for the right reasons. That's right.
SPEAKER_00Using it for the glory of the kingdom, absolutely. Yeah. Um it's easy, you know, as we go through our life we'll say, hey well, well, God really can't use this, whether it be a you know, I'm an artist or you know, using uh being familiar with computers. But um in this day and age, being familiar with computers is such a it's it's a really a boon on your behalf to be able to get the word out there and and share with others uh God's word. Um yeah.
SPEAKER_01There's just there's so much evil in the digital age, but we have to realize that there's so much glory that can come from it as well.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely, you know, I was talking to my brother about it, and he's you know, far more, you know, I I lean on his knowledge to be able to get where we're at today. Um but I was talking about that, and I've seen so many different podcasts, YouTube channels, TikTok streams, all that kind of stuff. And I feel like nothing, no one is really doing what we're doing right here. Yeah. And I feel like that's it's awesome that you were feeling led to do that, and me just being able to help, you know, jump with you or help you give you the the the launching board to be able to leap off from that, you know. I I just I'm glad to be able to be a part of it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I think it'll get better now that you know we're able to, you know, we have the equipment to where we can now go mobile. So well, now that we can go mobile when we go to people's houses or my house, your house, whatever the case may be, you know, we it it's we found that, you know, as far as part of our men's group and our men's meetings, that, you know, um we're getting more out of those men's meetings being at somebody's home. It's more personable. It's more um down to earth to where you know people can, you know, relax and feel comfortable about comfortable about talking about things. And I think that once now that we can go mobile, it's gonna it's gonna get even better.
SPEAKER_00I absolutely I I agree with that that statement. I think sometimes when you when your visitors just come to church and I I love church, want to always be here, but I think there's sometimes you put up uh some barriers and walls. I'm not I don't want to I I I feel like a tug to to do a certain thing or go a certain direction, but oh I just don't feel comfortable. And when we're able to get into those men's meetings and and they're in a much more familiar environment or they're much more comfortable sitting there, just have a plate of food eaten, that they can begin to let those those barriers down. That's right. And I think it just propels them when they ever are here in church, they'll hey, you know what, I'm with friends and now I can just I can do what God's calling me or leading me to do.
SPEAKER_01That's right. Especially when you have in groups like that, and it can be men's, women's groups, whatever, when you have uh leaders within the church at those meetings, you just kind of kicking back with the rest of them and just having casual conversations and people see that they're normal people too. Absolutely. They have normal lives outside of ministry, outside of worship team, you know, everything like that, and they get more of that sense of comfort and they say, okay, well, you know, he's no different than me, or she's no different than me. Right. You know, we're all human, and just having that sense of comfort in a home is truly phenomenal. And not only that, but we get the opportunity doing that to be able to bless and anoint that home as a home. Oh, 100%, absolutely. You know, with when you have such a faithful body of men and women that we have gathering in homes for meetings, Bible studies, whatever it may be, and you're able to just let the anointing flow inside of that home, there's a spirit that sticks around after you leave. Yep. Spirit of protection. You know, we get to I know whenever I go to the men's meetings, when I'm walking in or when I'm walking out, I'll just say a quick blessing over that home. You want to bless the host that hosted you that night, you want to protect the thresholds of that home from any spirit of the enemy. Um, and I'm excited to do that with with the podcast. I think it's gonna be fantastic.
SPEAKER_00I think uh we're doing the God's kingdom a disservice if we're not doing that. Yeah. Because it was one of the tasks that that Christ gave his disciples. Correct. When he sent them out by twos, he said, Hey, go to a house, and once you enter in that house, reside there, but also you pray over that house. And us not doing that is leaving some of the ministry and some of the uh opportunities there on the table that God's calling us to do and and be a part of. Yeah. Yeah. Be bringing entering into people's families, homes, and bringing the word with them and and uh and God's spirit as well.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. The Bible says go and make. Go and make. Absolutely. You know, if we're just pinned down here, and I I love doing the podcast here. I love this church, I love this beautiful house of the Lord, but if we pin ourselves down here, it becomes more difficult rather than if we're going and making disciples of the kingdom. Um just going to people, spreading the gospel. That's that's really the goal of this whole thing. Absolutely. And um I I would rather wouldn't rather be doing it with anybody else. I can tell you that. You know. Um it's gonna be awesome. And uh we've got some fun segments lined up for this episode, I believe. Okay. Awesome. I've got a few ideas. I haven't fully ran by them what we're gonna be doing, because w we don't do that here. You know, we we don't make plans. Now leading and guiding of the Lord. That's right, that's right. Not very good off the coast, but we'll we'll see. That's kind of what happens. That's kind of like church on Sunday. We had a plan, but God had a different one. Oh, yes, 100%. And whenever you just submit to the Spirit, yes, let Him lead and guide you, the things He can do through His obedient vessels are just truly unbelievable. Um But the first thing we're gonna do tonight, first segment I want to do, is um I asked everybody to bring a scripture for the episode. What we're gonna do is we're just gonna, we don't know what scriptures we brought, we don't know what's going on. So um we're just gonna basically go through the scripture that we each have and just kind of break it down. What does it mean to us? You know, what are implications behind it, what do you think the purpose of that said scripture is? And I I got a feeling the Lord will tie it all together as He always does. So Dad will start with you if you want to. Oh man. He threw me for a loop. I guess I could have started, but I'm no, it's okay.
SPEAKER_02It's okay. Glad you didn't pick me for scriptures. Okay. I wouldn't do that.
SPEAKER_04No, no, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so um I'm gonna go to uh I wish I had my I'd I put my Bible. Why would you do that? It's right there. We could come in there.
SPEAKER_01Go grab that thing. Don't cut this out though. I'm not cutting it out. You know, keep the sword close.
SPEAKER_02I gotta talk about keeping the sword close. Okay, there it is. So it it it's you know um funny he asked about the scripture, you know, and I had a thought that happened this morning actually, but I'm not gonna share the thought yet. But anyway, I'm gonna go to Luke uh chapter uh 15, and I'm gonna start in verse one. So, and it's about the parable of the lost sheep.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So uh tax collectors, this is verse one, tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. This made the Pharisees and teachers of the religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people, even eating with them. Verse 3 says, uh, so Jesus told them this story. If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he finds it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together all of his friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice with me, because I have found my lost sheep. In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over 99 others who are righteous and haven't strayed away. So we know what the scripture and the parable that Jesus is talking about. He's talking about, you know, going out, you know, amongst, going away from the church, right? Going out, finding sinners, bringing them in. And now when he says, you know, he didn't, he didn't, when he found the sheep, he didn't put a collar on it, he didn't put a rope around his neck, he didn't drag it, you know, it was a filthy animal, right? Sure. He put that filthy animal on his shoulders, right? And he carried that sheep into the house. And then when he got it there, he called everybody. He called everybody to celebrate. I have found my sheep. Well, when I look at this, now I'm gonna turn it around. All right. Now I'm gonna now I'm gonna give you my thought that I had this morning. So my thought was get out of this, get out of the pasture. Okay. So now I'm gonna spin it around on the 99. So the shepherd, the church, the shepherd of the church, the sheep. All right, the 99. The 99, the people, I'm using the 99 as the as the the people, right? You need to get out of the you need to get out of the pasture. Sure. You need to go out with the shepherd. The shepherd is don't don't need to be the only one going and getting the one. Uh-huh. Right?
SPEAKER_03That's right.
SPEAKER_02The 99 needs to go out there with them. Now, if you're, you know, you're comfortable where you're at in, you know, with church, that's perfectly fine. But if you're if you're scared to go out, he gives you protection. If you don't know what to say, as long as God is in it, he'll give you the words to tell him. Right? Yes. He will show you the way that you need to go. So get out of the pasture and go get him.
SPEAKER_01Amen. Yeah. I like it. Well, and the first thought I have on that is you said um it's a beautiful thought. You said, you know, if you're comfortable, you know, it's okay, but if you have fear, he'll, you know, ease your fear, whatever. The one thought I have there is oftentimes as the church body, we feel like getting out of the pasture is not a necessity. I see it like this. If you're comfortable where you're at in your spiritual walk, that's great. If you're living for God, if you're dying out daily, if you're constantly in the word, if you have a great prayer life, that's fantastic. Right. But you have to be careful because if you stay in the comfort of that pasture, you will find yourself getting complacent to the things of the world. And what's even more dangerous is you'll find yourself falling into routine over and over and over and over again. And it will become less of a godly thought and more of a, oh, I didn't do this today thought. It's part of my routine. Yeah. I have to do it. And you lose the purpose of what you're doing. Right. The reason you're going out of the pasture is to fulfill the Great Commission. Go out and make disciples, like we've been talking about. Right. That's what we have to do. So I feel like getting out of the pasture, what Jesus is speaking about there, and the way you flipped it around on the actual church body, it's so important to know that getting out of the pasture, I believe, is a vital piece to really growing in your walk with God. If you never step out of that comfort zone, you won't never go deeper because it requires, he'll require something that you've probably never done before in your life in order to grow deeper in your faith.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. When your faith is tested, right? And I got and I wrote this other scripture down. I'm sorry, I done got that. No, you know, with the faith of endurance, you know, I would and I go to James chapter 1, you know, and I start in verse 2, and I'm reading down in L T. Is uh dear brothers and sisters, when trouble comes your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So when you step out of the pasture, you're stepping out in faith, right? You're stepping out in faith, right? So when you step out, your faith is being tested. Okay, so now I'm going out, okay? I'm taking it, I'm scared, I'm nervous, I'm in that uncomfortable state, so I'm going. All right. Your endurance has a chance to grow. Okay, well, when you step out, now you're having an opportunity to grow. You're fishing to grow, right? So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. Needing nothing, meaning, okay, when you step out in faith, you know you got God with you, right? He's inside of you. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God and He will give it to you. Yes. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Right? He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask Him, be sure your faith is in God alone. That's the key.
SPEAKER_01That's the key. Yeah. Many times when we go to Him in prayer and we ask for things that we need to grow the kingdom and everything. A lot of times, even sometimes we don't know we're doing it, but we have a lot of faith in our ability to do those things. Right. A lot of faith in ourself. That scripture says, have faith in God alone. A lot of people are going to think, oh, well, I don't have any idols that I worship or whatever. But your self is oftentimes the biggest one that you have to get past.
SPEAKER_03That's right.
SPEAKER_01Don't have faith in your own ability to do those things when you ask. That's right. Have faith in God. Absolutely. His ability to do those things through you.
SPEAKER_00Okay, then go away. The little thing that I feel like, you know, God just what I glean from that scripture is absolutely the sheep can can leave the pasture and go out there and make disciples of men, but we're not leaving the shepherd. Nope. The shepherd is going with us. That's right. We're not out there alone. We're not in the you know, the mill may we may be in the midst of wolves, but we have our loving father with us. That's right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's a wonderful thing. Okay, I know it was two scriptures, and I'm sorry. That's fine.
SPEAKER_01You can do as many as you want. I didn't I didn't set any ground rules. No, it's all right. I didn't set any ground rules, so it's all good. Do you have one? You want to go ahead?
SPEAKER_00Uh I I had one. Okay. But just as you were talking, manna, he's he's been hitting on me a little bit. And I say he, the Lord has just kind of been telling me and leading me. And um Well, that's exactly how I wanted this to go. Oh, really? Yes, absolutely. And so it's the I I'm sure everybody's familiar with the story of the the prodigal son.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00And um this coming out of Luke 15. Okay. But, you know, I I highly recommend go out there go there and read the whole thing. But I wanted to focus on, because I think sometimes we we kind of just gloss over it, is the older brother in that story. Okay. Yeah. And he had spent all that time with his dad. Mm-hmm. And starting at um verse 25, it says, Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. And I find it kind of interesting to stop right there. He didn't go in and check it himself. He sent one of the servants in to go say, Hey, go go tell him what tell him what's happening. Because I think he had an idea what it was, and he wanted it to be confirmed. Yeah, yeah. And so he called one service going on. Uh Your brother has come, the servant replied. And your father has killed the fatted calf because he has him back safe and sound. And twenty verse twenty-eight says, The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. Said, but he answered his father, Look, all these years I've been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders, yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. And then the father goes on to talk about it's it's your your son. Yeah, he's my son, your brother's come back, he was dead, now he's live again. But um I spent I I spent a long time as the older brother, or I actually don't know if he was an older brother, younger brother, but the brother who stayed.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And being a part of the church, but not actually being alive in the church. I've been, I I I think your the both of your testimonies are so beautiful. Um I think you you talked about as little you were in the church, but then you kind of, as a family, faded away. Yep. And and you um, I don't believe you started what coming to church uh till 13 or 12 or something, somewhere around there, roughly. Um but I've been in it my whole life. Yeah. And I felt like for a long time that there were things that happened in the church. I watched some great men fall, and I became bitter. Yeah. And I started acting the part. Yeah. I started putting on a mask. Okay. And say, I can I can pretend this, I can fake it. Go on through the mask. I know, I'm so familiar with this that I can begin to I'll predict how the service is gonna happen. Sister so-and-so is gonna get up and start worshiping, brother so-and-so is gonna clap his hands, and there are gonna be some shouting. Oh, this is gonna go, this is this service is gonna go long. Oh, wait, this is gonna be a short one. We're not gonna be here that long.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00And in doing that, in as the uh the old the the other, the the son who stayed started going through the motions and becoming bitter. And I let that sit in, and I found myself becoming addicted to some stuff out in this world. And it became just an act. Yeah. Yeah. And it wasn't until about, I'll probably get this date wrong, um the summer of 2018 or 2019. Um I was at your house, and we were sitting there, I don't know, we were doing a play playing Fortnite or something like that. And I got a phone call. And my brother was taking my dad to the hospital and said, it's RTEC. This is this is a bad one. And we spent all night there. Yeah. Um that he had emergency open heart surgery, and you know, obviously that has all the turmoil that's going on in that situation waiting room. My world was being rocked. Yep. And everything that I thought I could predict, and everything that I, you know, had this facade and all put together was just beginning to just flake and crumble and fall apart. And I was trying to keep it together, and I actually ended up, I just had the my my dad had some bills he had to go pay, and I mean he's the one who runs he runs his checkbook, his uh uh the finances of his household. That's why I had to tell my mom, okay, I'm gonna go to the house and just take care of things. And I was just breaking down, and you know, this the the guy who had been the spiritual leader of my life, just so strong, was all of a sudden just not. You know, is he gonna make it? Is he not? I have no idea. And I began to feel like I gotta take up his burgeon. And I don't think I can carry that. Yeah. But what happened was I had left my sunglasses at your house. And I came back to just to pick them up. And you guys were getting ready for dinner. And you were like, hey, watch the. Watch your stay and eat. And it was so normal. And I began, I think I walked in the door, Lauren came up behind me and she gave me a hug. And that mask was beginning to just crack and come apart. And you guys had just normal family conversations. And in the middle of my storm, you guys became almost like a rock. And I remember leaving your kitchen after all the plates have been cleared. And I talked to you for just a moment and you gave me a hug and you prayed for me. And you probably may not remember it, but I remember it to this day. And I begin to stop playing. I begin to stop pretending and started giving God what he deserved, everything. My life, letting him have control. And that's how I feel like that trap. Sometimes we get into, we get in that older brother's mentality, the prodigal son's uh brother's mentality that we're sitting here playing. And when something awesome begins to happen, we're we've we've thought we could predict everything, we thought we could get through everything, we knew what was happening, and when things aren't happening the way we thought, we'd be we we let the wrong spirit get a hold of us. And it's it's in my opinion, and I feel led, it's a warning that we shouldn't become like that. No, even though we feel like we're doing exactly what God called us to do. Yeah. If we're not truly, if our heart's not truly there, then we're in danger, just as anybody else out there has lost the hellfire. Anyway, that's what scripture had.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_02That's what I'm talking about. Oh my lord. That's what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_01I didn't have getting emotional on the bingo part of night, man. You just what a testimony. Yeah, 100%, man. Praise the Lord. Wow. You're 100% right. Um I myself lived with that facade for a while as well. And it's that's the thing about being in that older brother mentality, being in the pasture. Yeah. And the thing that really came to me with your testimony.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know, you've been in the church your whole life. You said you knew how to act, you knew what was going to happen, you knew how to play that part because you've been around it for so long. When we're in the pasture with 99 other sheep, it's really easy to learn how all the other sheep act. Yes. It's really easy to figure out okay, this sheep's doing this, if I do that, I'll just blend in with the rest of the sheep. Yep, that's right. Meanwhile, you're in turmoil on the inside. And I it kind of ties into the scripture I had, and I'll I'll go ahead and pull it up. Um it's in 2 Corinthians, and it's a pretty popular scripture. Um, I've even done a message on it before. Um, let me pull it up real quick. It's about being through a storm, taking hits, and it truly it's made its way to probably my my favorite passage.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, and I I absolutely love it. It says this. This is out of the NIV, 2 Corinthians 4, 8 and 9. It says, we are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed, perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned, struck down, but not destroyed. You see, oftentimes when we have that facade put up, there's so much inner turmoil. Oh, yes. And when we're in the pasture comfortable and we get complacent, the enemy just begins to work and work and work on us. We have to understand that even though we may feel when that mask starts to come down, when we start to get vulnerable in that moment, we may feel struck down, we might be confused, we might feel persecuted by the enemy. But we have to understand that when we take that step out of the pasture, out of the comfort zone, and the mask begins to fall, and the vulnerability begins to show, we have to understand that God will be there with his mercy every time. Absolutely. We are not destroyed in that moment, but we are rebuilt in that moment. And in order for God to rebuild us, sometimes it requires a little breaking. Sometimes some studs weren't mounted the right way. They need to be taken off. Yes. Remounted again. And that that scripture just it really hit me last night so much that I filmed a short on it because I've been studying, you know, attacks of the enemy and how he gets into our mind and all his different tactics. But in the end, it really just comes back to God's mercy and grace. Even if we are, even if we do fall, even if we do fall into temptation or addiction or anything like that, as long as we go running back to the Lord and get vulnerable in his presence, he'll be there every time for us.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. We have to be broke regularly. And I I mean, I don't mean like, you know, oh my gosh, we're going in, we're in the valley, we're we're having going through a trial. No. When you come to church, you know, and you're at you're on your knees, you need to be broken every time you hit your knees. That way, when you're broken and you're empty, he has something he can fill you back up. And when he fills you back up, that's something that he can give for you to give others. Break me. That's what I want. I want you to break me. Break me down to where I'm nothing, to where I am just done, I'm down, but then I want you to fill me back up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I feel I feel like uh we talked about it a little bit Wednesday. I can't remember if either of you y'all may not have been here for that, but um that the physical uh realm that we live in is a reflection or has reflections from the spiritual. And uh I remember in I think it was seventh grade, I took a pottery class. And you can you you know, you have a block of play you can take and be in the mold into a vessel or a pot or whatever, whatever you're trying to do. But one of the fascinating things that um the the the teacher told us is that as it as the vessel dries and it may not be the shape that you have wanted, you can crumble it apart and get it back to being what it almost looks like dust. Add get put water back in there, and it become you can get it back into a moldable clay again. And then once it gets to the the point that you you you you you like what if what it's become, then you put it into the kiln, the fire. And then it will retain that um that form from then on. Yeah. And so I think it's just so like you talked about being broken until we're we we need God to break us because sometimes it's we we we resist him. We as he is the the master potter, we we push back and say, okay, well you've gotten hard, you've you've gotten dry, okay, I'm gonna have to break you down again and reform you. That's right. And I I I agree a hundred percent.
SPEAKER_02We have to be thrown back on the potter's wheel. Yes. And molded back into where we need to be. And then once he gets to that point, we're not gonna be perfect.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02You know, I talk about this sun uh, you know, Sunday morning, we're not perfect. There was only, you know, one perfect person that walked the face of this earth. Absolutely. It is all for us to strive to get to that point, but we'll never get to that point.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100% right. Talking about molding, you know, he we have to understand that even if we're living a Christ-like life, even if we're striving after him with everything we have, sometimes in your walk with God, he is going to have to soften you up a bit to add something new. Yeah to add another piece so that your faith can grow. Right. So when those trials come and you're walking with God, don't see it as an attack from the enemy. See it as, okay, God, you're trying to prepare me for something. Yes. I'm gonna trust you, walk me through this because I know you'll you'll guide me every time. 100%. And this has been an awesome segment here. Absolutely, phenomenal. This is exactly how I want it to go. You know, the Lord is so wonderful when he just unifies everything. Yes, he brings together. We don't, this is why I didn't want to tell you all about any of this or talk about it, because I I just know the Lord has the ability to, when you have obedient vessels and people that are really truly their hearts in it, God will take care of the rest. Absolutely. So when you got people who know how to let the spirit flow, God will take care of the rest. Another segment I had to kind of lift the spirits a little bit, next segment. Um wanted to give you guys some song recommendations for the coming week. So we've got a segment here. Um we're basically calling it Worship Song of the Week. Um I like it. We're gonna just each go through a song that's been touching our hearts recently, what the song means to us and how we've been applying maybe the principles behind the song, maybe what it's done for us, maybe it has brought revelation. I mean, I know I've got a ton rattling through the through the brain right now. I'll start to not keep you guys on the but uh one song that has just been, I mean, for the past, I think, month since it's been released, I've probably played it like three or four times a day. Yeah. Um it played in church on Sunday just off the random playlist, because there you go. You know, we we let God take care of the music the back half of that service. So it's uh Jesus Be the Name by Elevation Worship.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01And the song basically there's a line in that song that just says, There's just something about your name that makes me cry holy. Yes. How holy his name is. He really broke me the first time I heard that song about um how am I glorifying his name today? Yeah. What am I doing in my daily life that is glorifying God? How is Jesus being the most holy name in my life in this moment? And that's just what that song constantly brings back. Just his name just makes me cry holy. Yes. He's just so holy, he's so glorified. And what am I doing today? What am I doing as this song's playing that is glorifying him? Am I worshiping him? Am I planting the seed with somebody? Am I getting in the word today? Am I praying it the way that I should? How am I putting Jesus as the number one name in my life? And that that song is just it's transformed my heart, it's transformed pieces of my mindset. Um, and it's a wonderful song. Everyone listening and watching, you should check it out. It's true, it's a powerful ministry through that song. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I want you to say for the ending, you did a beginning. Okay. Um I love Charity Gell's music. She's phenomenal. I know you have a lot on her playlist. Yes. But that's not she's not one the one I'm picking uh picking from today. Okay. Another one of my favorites is Zach Williams. I think there's a lot in there uh and and a lot of his music that I think comes from probably personal experiences, but probably all others as well, not just himself. Sure. Um but one that I've I won't say I'm listen I listened to frequently. I I I will say I listen to it frequently, but I may not have listened to it, you know, very, very recently. But uh it's Jesus Loves by Zach Williams. He came out this year. Yes, yes, phenomenal. Oh no, I'm sorry, last year.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00But um just as it goes through and talks about I think uh just the opening is talks about all the renegades, the rebels, the runaways, talking about all these, all the prodigals like my scripture was talking about earlier, is these are the ones that Jesus loves. And a hundred percent I've you know, I've heard it said, you should definitely look it up. I won't go into the rest of the lyrics because I'm not really familiar with them at this moment in time, but I've heard people talk about when I that I've invited to church, and they're like, oh, I don't I shouldn't go in there. Sure. The the the house will burn down. It's like absolutely not. I text actually Brother Braswell this uh Sunday. Oh, okay. Because we had a phenomenal service uh Sunday, but something that just hit my mind was um there's no better place for a sinner than to be in church. That's right. And whether you're renegade, runaway, prodigal, doesn't matter. It's where God loves you and He wants you to be in a place where you can begin to be broken, but taking off that those garments dirty and stained and put on the garments of praise and be washed in his blood. I just Jesus loves you. That's right.
SPEAKER_01A part of that song, uh, it's like right before the chorus, it says, Come on in, the door is open. Yes. Yeah, yes. So, you know, that's that's such a crazy thing to me because you're 100% right. People in this world, they just think, oh, I can't go to church with all these dirty rags I got. That's not the God we serve. No, absolutely not. There's a reason that he manifested himself in the flesh and walked among us because he wanted to show us that he didn't come to deliver. I believe he says he didn't come to deliver from governments, from rump, from any of that. He came to deliver from sin. Yes. And it doesn't matter, all sin is equal in the eyes of God. It doesn't matter what you've done, he'll take you back every single time.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. That's a beautiful song. Yeah. Oh smart sharp. Okay. All right, so, and it just hit me today, actually. Um, You've already won by Shane and Shane.
SPEAKER_01Okay. That's a good song.
SPEAKER_02So it really, you know, I was listening to actually I was listening to it this afternoon. I had the uh, I was reading, doing some reading and listening to my music and it came on, you know, and you've already won. The battle's already won. So why do we keep fighting? Why do we keep fighting the battle that has already been won? We go through things, we go through trials, we go through, we go through a lot of things through this world and in our lives. But he's already won the battle. So what whoever it is, whoever this is for, whatever you're fighting, he's already won. Quit fighting the battle. Just allow him to take over your life. Allow him to work through you, allow him to do everything for you. Quit fighting. Yeah. Because the battle is already won.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Absolutely. I think that uh it was a book by T.W. Barnes I was reading a little while ago, and talks about Jesus dropped a nuke on sin, the devil and all his minions. There's it's absolutely obliterated. The battle, there's no like, hey, we got some more, you know, uh battles to fight. It's not finished yet. No, no, he he beat it. He won. There's nothing but uh just a couple leftovers that we're left we're allowed to enter into his will and his way and do the things that he's called us to do, but that that he goes with us and that battle's won.
SPEAKER_02You know, the enemy's gonna be in your ear telling you all these kind of telling you things, hey, you can't get through this, hey, you can't get through that. Hey, why don't you just why don't you just do this? Why don't you just pick this back up? Why don't we that's just the enemy trying to let you know that the you're still fighting. No, you're not fighting. Quit. It's won.
SPEAKER_01It's done. Absolutely. When I think about the fight, because Jesus came and he took the burden of all of all sin. He he paid the price for us, he did the ultimate sacrifice, he picked up the check for our sin. Yes. Yes. So the battle that we're fighting, oftentimes, it's just against our own flesh. That's right. And when it says you've already won, when it says Jesus has already won, he's already delivered you from sin. So stop thinking that he won't flood mercy and grace into your life by coming into a church service, by going to a Bible study, whatever. You're fighting against your own flesh, but your own flesh has already been beaten by the blood of the Lamb. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02And the word of your testimony. That's right.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_02He's got the keys to hell and the grave. Hell and the grave. Yes. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. What other keys do you? I mean, he's got it all.
SPEAKER_01Has it all. Those are some good song suggestions. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. One or two may get played Sunday, so if you if you would like to hear those songs, please be here, you know, Sunday, uh Sunday morning at 11 o'clock for worship service. Yeah. Play a couple of them.
SPEAKER_01Um the final segment I have planned for this episode, and I'm I'm really excited for this episode. Uh, for this segment, this is one I'm probably we're probably gonna implement every week because I think it's just such a good idea. Um, the segment we've been talking about um, you know, Jesus, the parables that he was teaching. So, how appropriate to end the episode with a segment called What Would Jesus Do?
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01So, what we're gonna do is I have I have a scenario, and for future episodes, if you guys ever want to create a scenario and bring it, it'd be awesome. What we're gonna do is we're gonna put out a hypothetical scenario of something that would happen, could happen in the world in your daily life, and we're just gonna say, How should we respond as followers of Christ? Okay, and how should we not respond? What should we not do, and how should we respond to that situation? So the situation I have here is this right here. So here's the scenario You're at work or school or wherever you are in your daily life, and there's someone who constantly disrespects you, talking behind your back, making slick comments, maybe even embarrassing you in front of others, and one day they finally cross the line. They say something that really hits you personally, and now you're angry, like super angry. You have the perfect comeback. You could expose them, embarrass them, finally put them in your place. What do you decide to do as a follower of God?
SPEAKER_02Man, this sounds like this happened at work. Just lay it on us. Oh my gosh. This just happened, huh? Oh my Lord. Let us know. It seems like I have been, and honestly, I have been in those situations before. Yeah. I've been in those situations before my walk, and I know how how I responded. And I have also been in those situations like that in my walk. You know, we're gonna get we're gonna get angry. Yeah. That's just the human side of us. We're gonna get mad. Sure. You know, it's how you respond to that anger that determines it. Absolutely. And, you know, even you know, there was, you know, Jesus got mad a time or two, right? When he went to the temple. Yes, right? When he seen what they were doing in the temple. He was mad. You know, we're we're gonna get mad. And response is key. Yes. And how you respond to when you get mad is everything. And I have found myself where I have, you know, I have gotten mad about a situation like that, and I have, if I would have gone into that situation right then and there, I would respond, I would not respond very well. So what I found myself doing is taking a step back, going into my office, just saying, Yes. Right, taking a breather, thinking about it, praying about it, for one. That's the first thing, right? Praying about it. And then the next day, once I have dialed it down, then go back to that person and have a conversation with them. Absolutely. Don't have a conversation with them when you're you're like here. Yeah. Because that is not the opportunity, because they are things that can be said that you don't mean to say, and it's it's best that you take the moment, get calmed down, and then have the conversation.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. I I really I love that. Uh I think um I'll call it being a spiritual adult. Yeah. Sure. Because that's a as a kid. Um when you know we were you know made fun of or done something on the playground, you you're a lot closer to being that age than than me or him. But uh you can probably very well remember that some of those events went on, and he as a kid, you're like, all right, we're throwing hands. Yeah. Uh there's gonna be just because the Bible says lay hands on them suddenly don't mean you go up and slap them, slap them and knock them out or anything. I mean, but that's not what that scripture means. It made me think of Ephesians 4 and 26, which talks about be angry and sin and sin not. Um and it goes on to say, let not the sun go down upon your wrath. Um But I think it's okay. take if if you needing to take a step back to to cool yourself down it was a little over a day I think that's perfectly fine but I think that is the right response because what we what it allows us to do uh because we'll we're hot and we wanna we wanna you know snap back or do something immediately because it's it's almost we're being attacked. Um but the moment away to calm and cool down um we reminded that vengeance is mine saith the Lord it's not ours. That's right and we are disciples of Christ. That's right. And so we should we should you know act accordingly that's right absolutely absolutely and so yeah I I think that's that's 100% the right answer.
SPEAKER_02And I have learned that the hard way we all have how many emails have you got in your draft box oh this dude is teaching the get it now and then you hold that okay let me let me put that in draft think about that for a minute and then you go back the next day and you read yeah let me delete that I didn't want to send any of that some of the some of them I have sent so sure sure but see the did y'all see the uh now I don't know what AI platform it was that did ad for the Super Bowl where somebody ate uh a guy's pudding at work and he typed out like this angry email and small yeah and then he put it in AI and it made it like a super nice email.
SPEAKER_01Yeah I feel like it it's important for us to take that breather. Yes. And more importantly realize that that person coming against you is more than likely it's an attack from the enemy. Yes. Trying to wedge his way into your life and really pry you away from God. But if you can take a step back and breathe and find rest in the Father before you respond to that situation, he'll give you the appropriate response. Sometimes he'll may even tell you he may say you know stay away stray away from that but remove yourself from that situation so that the enemy doesn't have a hold on you. Yeah but I I absolutely believe that's the appropriate response but what's important for us to take from that is with our flesh man it's so easy for people to get under our skin sometimes. And it the hardest thing for me is when somebody comes against the work of the Lord in your life. Yes. That really is what pushes me over the edge sometimes and I just have to realize that you know the enemy can't take away what God's done for me. That's right. Somebody may speak against it. Somebody may say oh well that's not the Lord in your life that's just coincidence or whatever. He hasn't really delivered you. You're just you're doing this for you know being a good old boy you know whatever. But nobody can take away what God's done for me. That's right. So if I ever get disrespected in that way or somebody comes against me, I'm just like hey man, you know, I pray for you, God bless you. Yeah you know I pray that he brings that deliverance into your life as well because the joy I have is unspeakable. Yes so I'm gonna go find rest with my father over here while you do what you got to do.
SPEAKER_00There you go I love that you said that because it's so true that it's you know we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and rules of darkness spiritual wickedness in high places. And I think that's absolutely what it is it's you know the devil working through an individual is trying to attack you to get you to respond physically. Yes and then all of a sudden you're putting down Jesus and you're taking up self and you're gonna go you know whether it's throw hands or yell or whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah the flesh takes over in that moment. Yes. He's trying the enemy's trying everything in his power to get you to just fall into the flesh and not listen to the spirit. But we know that if you starve the flesh, the spirit this has been a fun episode I've enjoyed um I love that we have the equipment now to be able to get out bless some homes and bless some people. Yes we're gonna be doing that here soon so be on the lookout for those future episodes. Jesse thank you for I really appreciate you having me on absolutely you'll probably be in front the Lord the Lord's been speaking to me this episode I I believe I believe a three man crew is is needed to be here. That's that'll be phenomenal yeah that I believe so so it's gonna be fun what we're gonna be doing. I'm super excited for the future of this and more importantly I'm excited how it's glorifying the kingdom. Yes that's right and seeing how I've had a few people talk to me you know at work and just in church in the community of you know they they watch the podcast they listen to the shorts and how it's touching their life and then there's no greater feeling than that. No there is not it's it's better than any paycheck it's better than any benefit man just feeling the joy of the Lord from something that you're putting out is just truly unbelievable.
SPEAKER_00It's a beautiful thing that we're I feel like we're lifting up Christ right now with the things that we're doing and it he said if I be lifted updraw all men unto me.
SPEAKER_01Oh yes yes absolutely well let's go before the Lord and just ask him to bless our lives and the lives of these listeners today.
