SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, actually, yeah. With the holiday on Monday, you know?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, holiday on Monday. We missed dad last week. Yes. We've missed him the last two weeks, I believe it is. Yes. Yes. I forgot he was he didn't do that Bible study with us. Yeah. That's because he's old. That's what it is. No, can't do college students. I don't believe that's a good idea. Can't do college Bible studies, man. Come on.
SPEAKER_02No, I can't I'd be lost. I can barely do in high school one college one. That's what we need to do in high school. Oh, we need it down to my level. I see what you're saying.
SPEAKER_01High schoolers are different nowadays, Jason. They are a little different, not gonna lie. I'm not that far removed from high school, and I talked to some high schoolers, and I'm like, man, was I like this, you know, five or six years ago? The answer is yes. I probably was. I probably was. More troublemaker. But no, dad was traveling last year. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_01Had a um thing to go to out in Texas. And this is a very long drive. You drive the Switzerland. Been there before.
SPEAKER_03You need the Holy Ghost on drive.
SPEAKER_02On those Texas roads, they're not like Florida roads, I tell you that much. Well the drive, I mean, the drive wasn't bad. I mean, it's you know, it was all I ten. It's just, you know, road construction and you know, having to turn around and 17 hours later on the first day, that was that was tough. That was tough. But it was good. It was a good time, you know. I was glad to do it, you know, to support. And it's always good to support your children, right? Be there when when you need to be. And that's that's that's what I live by, man. I, you know, um, she wasn't able to get a flight. Her flight was gonna get canceled the first day, so you know, I left, and I was an hour and a half from my hotel, and she called and said her flight was going to be canceled. She said, I'm gonna find a flight to Houston. I says, Okay, so I said, Well, let me know, which I was just already two hours outside of Houston. She said, I got a flight, so I turned around and I went back and got her. And um, like I said, 17 hours later I laid down. Um, but the thing of it is, is that, you know, when I thought about it on my way home, you know, which I put it out in the text, is that, you know, no matter what comes up as a parent, you know, you'll do anything for your kids. You know, and as you no matter what it is, if they're, you know, on the other side of the country, uh, or just right down the road, a phone call, hey, dad, mom, I need you. Come help me. Do whatever it is, and you'll do it. And then as I thought about that, you know, and like I said, I put it out in the text, then I got to think just what Jesus done for us. The sacrifice that he made for us on the cross. He gave everything for us. Just as us as parents would give everything for our kids and do anything for our kids. So, yeah, and I had a lot of time to reflect. 17 hours of reflection time. You can only worship for so long. Oh man. I think I was on my YouTube playlist, and there was like there's 20 hours worth of songs, and that was getting, I was thinking, okay, well, we're gonna get all the way to the end of this playlist, bad boy.
SPEAKER_01You're hearing songs that you put on there like five years ago. Whoa.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's so true though. I mean, you know, you think about um the idea of parenthood, and uh Jesus himself um as an earthly being, not necessarily a parent here in this world, but we are all his children. And the ultimate sacrifice that he made for us, yeah, just purely out of nothing but love. And we talked about love last week, Jesse. And you know, how it is really the foundation of our relationship with Christ. Yeah. That love, you know, there is nobody in this world that would go through what Jesus did for you. Yeah. Not one person, you know, maybe a parent to a child, but you know, I saw something, and I I can't get too into it because it's part of my message for Sunday. Oh, okay. I don't want to go too far into it. God has been hitting me hard with um what's going to go gonna happen this Sunday, and I believe he's gonna move mightily. But I was seeing some videos about historians and everything studying the life of Jesus and studying artifacts from what they think was the crucifixion of Jesus and everything like that. And everything that they've seen, all the evidence that they've seen of what Jesus truly went through, it was a medical impossibility for him to even survive the beating at the whipping post, let alone walk the miles that he did and get to the top of the hill with the cross. It was a medical impossibility. They don't think anybody in this world today, even with the technology, with you know, the doctors, physicians we have, wouldn't recover from something like that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know, so when you think about the crucifixion and the sacrifice, and more importantly, what came after the crucifixion, the resurrection, Jesus able to get up under his own power and say, you know what? I'm a man of my word. Yeah I told you I was gonna destroy this temple and rebuild it in three days. Yes, he did. And I've done it. Yeah. So that you guys can have a way to come to me. You can have a way to the Father through me. Yes. And it's just nothing, it's out of nothing but love. Nothing but love for his children, truly. You know.
SPEAKER_02It's funny you speak about love. Yeah? Yeah. It's been hitting me too, so I mean hard. And yeah, love. Love. You know. Have the fruit, you know, to have the fruits of the spirit, you gotta have love. You know. You can do anything, but you gotta you gotta surround it by love. You can't, you know, so many people today, you know, they don't show the love. They don't have the love. You know, they they they they talk with good talk, but they don't have the love that backs it up. And that's all Jesus did is he showed love. Yeah, did he speak, did he preach? 100%. Did he did he uh speak truth? 100%. But the thing about it is is that when he spoke truth, and when he spoke, every word that came out of his mouth was truth followed by love.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Love saves. Yeah, so yeah.
SPEAKER_01Love. Yes, it does. Yeah, it'll transform too. Yes. You know, um, a lot of people that Jesus spoke to were stuck in the old law, stuck in the old ways. But when he came from that basis of love and truth pouring out of these people, it transforms your way of thinking. Yeah. You know, there's so many people in this world today that just have not felt the true tangible love of Christ in their life. And it'll just transform you like it, like nothing else in this world. That tangible love, it'll feed you with what true love actually feels like. Because this world, and we talked about this hard last week, it's full of that fake love. That that temporary love that only fills that void in your heart for so long. But when you get a hold of Jesus, you get that tangible love of Christ. There's truly nothing like it. Nothing will transform you like his love. Yeah. Absolutely. A hundred percent.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think it takes the love of the creator to to to have that kind of effect. Because if it if it's not his love truly doing the work, then it's not gonna last. Right. You hang around for a season, you'll do something. Uh it's like uh my I won't call it any names or anything like that, but I've my brother works with some churches and stuff, and and there's there's seasons of like, hey, I'm a part of a social club, I'm gonna do some things, I'm just hanging out with friends, and it stays for a season, but then there's things that happen, stuff that pops up and push to the side, no longer you'll you'll no longer be going. And because there isn't a godly love that's going on in there that is just there to change and to take what you are and and m mold you into something that you can be and what he desires for you to be with his by uh by direction of his love. Yeah. And so, yes, there is a lack of true love going on in our churches today. Yeah. And it's very unfortunate. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. And a big part of it, I believe, is just, you know, um people not knowing the truth about that love. They don't know. And that's why it's so important, you know. That's that's really the main reason we do these podcasts, we have this YouTube channel, is to inform people about this love that we have all experienced and we want other people to experience. You know, if we are harboring that for ourselves, that's a spirit of selfishness. Right. It's up to us to spread that and be a display of Christ and show that tangible love. And I believe that there are a lot of, you know, churches, groups per se, that are just caught in a religious filter. And religion will twist the truth, I believe. And, you know, when you just get a hold of this word and you see it for yourself, when you take all the filters off, everything that's been told to you about this word, if you just say, Lord, show me what you would have me to see in your word. Show me the love you would have me to feel. Take off all the filters, just get in there for yourself and just start reading, start feeling, start praying out of nothing but surrender and love. Take off all the filters of your life, you'll truly experience what that love feels like. Yeah. And you'll start to experience that true relationship because there's nobody, there's no influence twisting the truth anymore. Right. When you get in there for yourself and you let God speak the truth to you through his obedient vessels, through kingdom workers, through truth-founded churches, there's nothing like it. It'll transform your life.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely. I you know, and you saying that it reminds me of just something that happened to me about two, three weeks ago, um, talking about like if I'm praying and sincerely wanting to open in the word and to get what God is wanting to impart unto me without the filter of somebody coming in and saying, Well, this is my take on it, and I'm going to twist a little bit of it, or have an agenda that I want to do. My brother sent me a text, and it was a clip of uh of a uh podcaster uh going to the word, and he twisted some of the wording of it and took some stuff out of context, and he had an agenda he was getting at with it. And I was like, Man, okay, I need to I was finished up what I was doing because I need to, I was like, I gotta focus on this 100%. So I finished what I was doing, took out the the took out the word, and I just you know put my hand on and said, Lord, I I need your wisdom right now because I want to be able to be able to speak to this and point out the flaw in it, um, and and point out how the the this individual was erroneously using the word of God. Um and I opened up the the chapter that the individual had taken that scripture um out of context in that uh in that that verse. Um and man, it was just like the first line I read. I started uh after I read it, I started uh getting kind of emotional because I'm like, it's just as plain as day as me, and I feel like God's spirit's just moving on me, and it's just clear as day. And then I went through the entire you know chapter and got to the end, and once again it just I felt like God had just made it as plain as day, opened it up to me, and I sent uh you know a text uh kind of like breaking it down for my brother and everything like that. But it was definitely the Spirit of the Lord just being so responsive, so near, and didn't leave me hanging. Right. You know, I sincerely want to I'm like, I I don't want this to be my doctrine, I want it to be from the Word exactly as you intended, as God intended you know, for us to uh digest and understand and and to implement. And it's just it's he will respond and we sincerely desire to be fed. No, he'll give us the revelation that we sincerely are willing to be an open vessel to receive.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%. Yeah, that's why the word is a living, you know, a living creature per se. Uh you know, it's an eternal founder, but it's also living, it's ever changing to your life. You know, I mean we we spoke on this last week too. There's scriptures and passages that you'll read all the time and you'll get one message from them. But maybe you're in a different season in your life and you're brought back to that same passage and you get a different message from it. That's the whole point of it being a living word. It's this is God right here. This word, it is Him. So if you're digesting that, He'll give you new messages through it each and every time you get in there. And, you know, I think that's a big thing too, is um, you know, the reason why people aren't necessarily feeling that love and they're seeking after it more and more is because there's so many people that will speak this word and maybe they'll twist it, but the reason they're twisting it, it's not out of sometimes it's not out of malice and it's not out of you know manipulation, yeah, but maybe they were taught by somebody that is seeking their glory and their glory alone and not the kingdom of God, not the glorification of the kingdom, because that's really all it's about. If you are preaching, if you are speaking from the motivation of, Lord, I just want your kingdom to be glorified through this, nothing but truth will come out because you're doing it for the right reason. You are edifying the Holy Spirit through that, so the Holy Spirit will speak through you in that moment. You're not grieving him by preaching from your own motivations or speaking from your own motivations. You're speaking from nothing but the glory for you, Lord. And nothing but the truth will come out. You speak from that motivation.
unknownYou know.
SPEAKER_01So I think that it's just such a powerful thing that love. And with that love, a topic that's been on me recently is just with that love and with a relationship with Christ, you gotta be patient. Another one of the fruits. You gotta be patient. Um, you know, that you're gonna go through a lot of long suffering per se, um, seasons. Well, you know, I spoke about it a little bit on Sunday. There's gonna be seasons where the burdens are heavy, where the cross is heavy, but you gotta know who to bring it to and you gotta know how to have patience in that. You know, there was a um dad told a story about his, I'll I'll let him tell it, but there was something that happened um at I don't know if it was on your way or on your way back from Texas, but probably took a lot of patience to get through that moment. Um, you know, uh anytime you're dealing with law enforcement, oh yes, you gotta have patience, you know.
SPEAKER_02I was thinking to myself, like, what is he talking about?
SPEAKER_01But now I know who wasn't that speeding, was it? Yeah. Well, it's funny because I had a few months ago, I had a great encounter with a police officer that the Lord led me through. And uh I got home after that encounter and found a speeding citation in the mailbox. So after dad told me this story, I was like, you know, maybe we should just stay away from law enforcement, you know, what's going on there. That that's a hard spirit to battle right there, but yeah, I'm just playing, of course. But yeah, but you gotta have a lot of patience for that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was going through uh, I think it was Walsh, Louisiana, and I had my crew set at 80. I'm coming through, you know, going to an I-10, and I get pulled over. And the officer come up to me, he says, you know, I clocked you doing 82, and I said, No, sir. I said, I see, well, I got my crew set at 80. He said, Well, you know, uh, I had your clock, you were speeding, and I said, Yes, sir, I was. And he said, Well, let me see your license, let me have your license registration. I said, Okay. So I gave him my license registration, he came back, and he said, Um, I noticed that you have a CDL driver's license. I said, Yes, sir. He says, Well, what I'm gonna do instead of giving you a speed ticket, I'm gonna give you a uh seatbelt violation. Okay. And I was a non-moving, you know, infraction will go against your license. I said, okay. I says, um, well, thank you. And he said, um, what's your favorite color? And I don't really have a favorite color, and I just said gray. He said, well, pick another color. I said, okay. Well, blue. And he said, well, give me just a minute. He walked back to his patrol car. He came back. He says, you know, um, I don't have very many positive interactions out here on the highway, riding tickets, pulling people over. He said, but I noticed your bracelets. And he handed me a little Jesus figurine. Oh, okay. And he said, Jesus loves it. He said, I want you to have this. And I took it and I said, Well, I appreciate that. I says, uh, I'm gonna pray for you and uh you'll be safe out there. And I shook his hand. He said, Well, I really appreciate that, and off he went. Yeah. And like Josh has said about his, you know, a citation that he got, you know, because of that, you know, whatever that infraction, however much it costs, you know, for me to pay that seatbelt violation, to be able to pray for that gentleman, no matter what, I d we don't know what happened when I pulled away from him, yeah, or what he went through the rest of that week or what he's going through right now. But if at all it cost me just say $150 seatbelt violation to save that man's life, I'll do it, I'll pay that price any day of the week. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, it's a wonderful thing. Yeah. But you know, it's so easy when, especially when you get in situations like that, you see the lights coming on behind you, you can get so frustrated. Yeah, obviously. You get impatient with it, you're like, I'm trying to get somewhere, and I'm getting pulled over. But you never know what situation God is going to put you into. That's true. And sometimes He will test your faith right before a scenario to make sure you're in the right headspace, the right mindset. Um, I had something, you know, recently, actually just happened today, that that I praise the Lord for. And I was telling Sierra about it, but um, we had to spend a little bit extra this month because we had to, we were redoing the rock bed and uh had to spend a couple hundred there to do that. So I was like, we were looking at the bills, and I was like, you know what, it'll be fine, you know, the Lord will provide. If we got to pull from savings this month, it's it's not a big deal, you know, whatever. And we were patient through that. And it used to be, oh my god, we're scrambling, you know, all the time, just freaking out about it. But we've gotten to the point where we're like, you know what, Lord, you're the gyra. You're the provider. You can provide everything we need, we're gonna trust you with it, just give complete obedience, complete trust. And we got our pay stubs at work today. And I looked at my pay stub. I don't really ever look at it because it's usually the same amount every month, just you know, whatever. I don't really ever look at it, but I took a look at it today and it was a couple hundred dollars more than it usually is. And I was like, what in the world? And I looked, and at first I got a little nervous because all of my deductions weren't taken out for like insurance stuff like that. I was like, oh my god, if something wrong with my insurance, yeah, yeah. And then I was talking to a coworker and he was like, Oh no, Josh, it's because you know we got paid uh three checks this month and they only deduct twice. And I was like, Well, thank you, Lord. I I didn't know that personally, I have no clue, but just it those small things like that. If you're patient, you fully trust in God with it, it he truly will provide not only your needs, but he'll provide those opportunities for you to plant the seed. Yes. And you have to be obedient in that and just walk in it, and he'll continue to grow your faith through that and just deepen your walk and provide more of those opportunities for you. Yep. You know, it's like I I equate it to this. I wouldn't trust a child or I wouldn't trust you know anybody with something that I give them unless they knew how to use it. The Lord, when you're obedient with his spirit, when you're obedient to his voice, and you step into the gifts that he's giving you the opportunity to do, you're stepping into moments where he's allowing you to speak, he's trusting you to steward his spirit in a mighty way. And the more you obey and the more you use that, the more trust he gains with you to step into more of those situations and to feed the spirit, essentially. You know? And it's a powerful thing. Yeah. 100% deepening your walk. There's nothing like it. Man, I'll tell you another thing that will deepen your walk is worship. Yeah. Yes, it will. Worship. You know. I've had a uh I had a hard time thinking of worship songs this week because Oh, I thought we was doing something.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you didn't pick a worship song up? No, I mean you sent the text, you
SPEAKER_0120 minutes before the podcast, that makes it a lot of things.
SPEAKER_03You listened to over 200 songs.
SPEAKER_01I would say you had a 20-hour playlist listened to, have a long drive. I'm ready. The reason I could had a hard time picking it is because there's just so many. Yeah. Yes. There's so many songs that were speaking to me this week. And um I finally landed on one. It's um I don't know, you may guys may not have heard it, but it's Jason Crab. Uh it's called It's Gonna Rain. It's gonna rain. I think I've heard it. Probably have. Um it's more upbeat from Jason Crab, but essentially what it's talking about is um he's talking about being in a desert place, being on you know, high dry land, barely being able to lift up your hands, but in that dry place you have to trust it's it's gonna rain. It's gonna flood, God's gonna pour out the gates of heaven upon you. He's gonna pour out whatever you need. That dry place you're in, that dry season you're in, it only lasts for a long time. You know, the weather here in Florida recently, we didn't get rain for like two months. And then all of a sudden in the past three weeks, it rains every day. So, you know, I get mad because I can't cut the grass because it keeps raining. Anyway, when you're in that dry place, you gotta trust that the Lord's gonna bring the rain. Yes. You gotta trust that he's gonna let that living water flow one more time. Whenever you need it, he'll be there, he'll provide the rain for your life. And that song has just been speaking to me this week because I've truly been, you know, trying to give the Lord my needs, give him what I need. So because I know he's the provider, and I spoke about it Sunday, but it's so hard for us to give up control of our life.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01To to let him truly provide everything for us. Yes. And just give up control, and that's truly that's what I've been working on recently. It's one of the struggles I've always had was just completely giving up control of everything. Um, so when I heard that song, I'm like, Lord, you know what? I have been in those dry places, and you've provided every time. So I'm gonna continue to trust you that it's it's gonna rain. Yes. You know.
SPEAKER_02I think that's a struggle for all of us sometimes, is giving him complete control. When I mean we're human, you know, we want to have control over something. Yeah. You know. Um, as I know I spoke about this, it's just like, you know, we're having driving down the road, you know. It's not like one of those kind of type of controls. You're driving down the road, you want, okay, Jesus, here you go. God, did Jesus take the wheel and getting you control? No. But, you know, it it's tough sometimes to give him all all the control and give him everything. But, you know, once you do, the evidence of the aftermath of giving him control of your decision making, your life, everything, man, you know what? They ain't no other way to live than to let him have it all. Yeah. And, you know, I guess that rolls into, you know, the song that I was listening to while I was cooking today, it was uh it's by Cece D and it's worthy of it all. Because he is worthy of it all. And every time I hear that song, it just man, it touches me. You know, it just, you know, I feel goosebumps from the top of my head to the soles of my feet because he's worthy of it all. Through the through the thick, through the thin, through the storms, through the, you know, through the through the high times, through the low times, you know, he's worthy of it all, of every bit of it. And that's what we have to do. Surrender to him all, give him all, give it all to him because he's worthy of it. And it's it's it's a beautiful song, which I know you've heard of. Yes. Oh yeah. It is is a great song.
SPEAKER_03You know what's awesome is it's not just, you know, he doesn't want just our praise and our worship and our time. Yeah. But he also wants our problems, our worries, our frustrations. Yes. And so when we when we realize that we can give all of it to him and then begin to walk in the way that he wants us to walk, how much lighter we feel, how much, how much more joy we have in our life. Yeah. It's just so phenomenal.
SPEAKER_02Well, I send the text I sent this out this morning about the casting your burdens onto him. That's what he that's what he wants you to do. Put all hand give me the weight.
SPEAKER_01I can touch it I can carry it. He can handle it. Yeah. I heard a song recently, had a line in the chorus that says, He hears the mess, not just the prayer.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_01He hears everything going on. That's right. He wants it all. He wants that mess. And it's like I spoke about on Sunday. He knows everything, but you got to make the choice to willingly give it to him.
SPEAKER_00That's right.
SPEAKER_01Because, you know, he's not going to force himself upon you. He's a gentleman, like you've spoken about many times. Yes. You know, he's a gentleman. You got to bring those burdens to him so that he can take care of it for you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and he will. He's faithful. Yeah, absolutely. Uh the song I had this week is one that I originally um had heard a Spanish version of this, but I found the English version of it. And it's just a phenomenal one. We've played here for worship service, the English version, or at least I have. I don't know if you've actually done it or not. But um it's called Heaven by UPCI Music, featuring uh Draylin Young. Uh but one of the the I mean it's all really good, but there's a sequence in here that I just really and really enjoy. Let's see if I'm gonna get the words correct. Uh it says, Oh, I can't wait for the day when we rise up. Every tear will be white from her eyes, and we're gonna see you and sing holy, holy.
SPEAKER_01Oh, now that you say that, I've heard it before.
SPEAKER_03And it's I mean, the rest of it is phenomenal, and it integrates some of the uh I use it a little bit of an old um song, um When We All See Jesus. Yeah, it closes out with that that old uh hymn. But um it's such a phenomenal song, such a worship song. I really enjoy it. It gets me pumped and you know, ready, really excited. And uh but yeah, I I can't wait to the day that we get to see him face to face. Absolutely. Uh the the glory, you know, of our our risen Savior. Um I I you know I can't tell you how how I will respond, whether it'd be fall on my knees and weep or joy and shout, I don't know, but yeah, looking forward to the day. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, I have another song that you know that gets you phoned up. Yeah. Oh, I heard I played for Josh Saturday. Oh, okay. Another one? Looking forward to it then. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It's one of them uh it's one of them uh one of them church songs, if you know what I mean. Yeah, I think I know what you mean. I think I know what you mean. It's one of those ones where you got the organ and it is. It's a good song. I could have sworn Dad it was gonna go the author. I thought he was gonna pick the author.
SPEAKER_02Oh, and I and I hadn't heard, you know, and I heard this one. Did you send me that song? Somebody sent me that. No, it wasn't you that sent me the song. It was uh Sean sent it out. Sean sent it out on Signal. Um The Author by Brandon Late and uh one of the Jonas brothers. Pick Jonas. Yes. Phenomenal song. Yeah, it is really good. It is a good song.
SPEAKER_01The message behind it is so beautiful. Man, it's powerful. Um it goes along with the trust and the love we've been talking about, you know. Uh who am I to question the pen in the hands of the author?
SPEAKER_02That's right. It is a good it's a good song, it really is.
SPEAKER_01Who am I to question? You know, yeah. No, but dad showed me one of those one of those songs on Saturday at the end of the day. You gotta watch the video with it though. Oh, yeah. It's one of those where the altar is like a disco floor. Oh, yeah. Everybody's dancing flipping around. It's really good, man. I seen um, but going back to what you were saying about when we all see Jesus and what we would do, one thing I saw this week, I saw an interview with um Shia LaBeouf. He's the guy from uh the Transformers movies. I I know the interview you're talking about. You probably know who it is. Shia LaBeouf, the guy from the Transformers movies. The kid. Okay, yeah, yeah. So I saw an interview with him because he's outspoken about you know his uh faith and Christianity and everything like that. And he was in an interview, and uh one of the guys asked him, he was like, you know, Shy, like, what would you do if if Jesus was like right in front of you right now? And he just said, I I wouldn't do anything. He said, I would just bow, kiss his feet, yeah, just tell him thank you. I wouldn't ask him anything, I wouldn't say a word to him. And that was just so powerful to me that somebody that has had that much influence, you know, celebrity-like status, that they've just been touched in the heart with that revelation. Like, you know what, if he was here, there's nothing I could say to him that he doesn't already know. Yeah, right. Other than just, man, I love you, Lord. Just bow at his feet and give it all to him.
SPEAKER_03I I saw uh just a clip of that that segment from the interview, and I I could see that he was getting a bit choked up in in that moment giving the response. Um and don't know where he is with his walk, don't know everything aspect, don't need to know, but I can tell you that it looks like it's someone who has knows what it is to be uh to have been broken and to at least have uh God having some impact on his life, yeah, recognizing that he wants the hands of the Creator on his life. Right. Yeah um to take what is broken and make it whole again.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And being able to step out boldly and say that, uh especially when you know that you have that status in society. Yeah. Because there's so many people that have such an influence on you know the younger generation today. Um, but it it's so refreshing to see somebody that you know is you know a popular face just step out boldly and speak like that about the Lord, and there there's nothing like it. So it's it's a wonderful thing to see. Some good songs this week, gentlemen. Some good songs. Um we got a fun little segment to end it off here. We started this segment last week. I think I think me and Jesse really enjoyed doing it.
SPEAKER_03I did, I did.
SPEAKER_01We got a little competitive nature in it, but yeah, you know, and if it gets too if it gets too chippy with the top fives, you know, we we may retire it, but I don't think we will just we all love that competitive nature. But gonna do our top five segment again this week again. Comment below which list is your favorite. We'll have them listed in the comments below. Vote on your list there. This week, gentlemen, I texted you right before we recorded. Yeah, no worries. Um we're going to do last week we did top five Bible characters. This week we're going to do top five Bible stories that would make great movies. Now, I know there's been plenty of movies made about stories in the word. We're not gonna exclude those stories because um I believe with 15 picks, it'll be hard to pick at the last five. Um, but once something's off the board, we can't repeat picks, obviously. So once one of us takes a story, can't take that story on your list.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01Um we're going to do, since we have three people, we're going to do uh, I think we're we should do snake draft style. Do y'all know what that is? So uh here's how it's gonna work. If I say I was going first, and you were going second, dad was going third. I would pick first, you'd go second. Dad, since he's going third, it would come back this way. Dad would have his first two picks, and then you would go and back to back. So basically, whoever has the second pick is at a small disadvantage, but I don't think really with this topic, but just because there's so many good ones. Yeah. Um, but here's how we'll do it. Let's do um decide the order. You got yeah, you we'll use your phone, Jesse. Okay. Let's just do this. Just pick a number. Dad, pick a number one through fifty.
SPEAKER_0247.
SPEAKER_0147. Jesse. Uh 12. I'm going to go 33. Just see see what Siri says, number one through 50. That's how we'll decide the order. I'm sorry, what? Just ask Siri, number one through 50.
SPEAKER_03Hey, Siri. Can you give me a number one through 50?
SPEAKER_01Oh, come on, man. It's unbelievable. Okay. So Dad won, Jesse in third, me in second. Dad, you can pick uh what draft position you want. So I'll go first. You'll go first.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna take You're gonna take third. I'm gonna take third so I can get the back-to-back page. Okay. And then Jesse will go second. Yeah, I got it. We'll do five. If it gets bad uh to where we can't really think of any, maybe we'll do three. We'll see.
SPEAKER_02But this is top five Bible stories that would make good movies. Yeah, I didn't get into the details, so I got. I'll spitball them. See what happens. Okay. Whenever you're ready. Your mom told me about it because I had to I was talking to her about this. Uh, but uh Esther. The story of Esther.
SPEAKER_01I had that one on my own.
SPEAKER_02The story of Esther, how she, you know, she was a f she was an orphan. And coming but from an orphan to being the queen of Persia and to delivering her is just, yes, that would, I believe that would be that would be a phenomenal movie.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I no, I agree with you. I I really enjoy that um that uh whole book. Yeah. Um it was probably one of my favor one of my favorite stories uh growing up. I just I just like that that aspect of, you know, like you said, this young lady who who um who was an orphan entered into the king uh into this like you know uh basically a um old version of uh The Bachelor. Yeah. Right, exactly. King's looking for a new bride, and it ends up, you know, you're picking her, and she I feel like she's the underdog, so you know, everybody likes an underdog story. But then also she has this opportunity really to be like to hide her who she was, yeah, her heritage, yeah, and to say, look, I'm I'm the queen now, I don't I don't need to uh to deal with any of these problems that are going on that my people are seeing. But she doesn't. She doesn't let it get to her head to that point. She's like, hey, yeah, tells her her um her uh uncle, who I think is taking care of her, yeah, her uncle, and says, Hey, go pray for me as I go, you know, I could possibly lose my life, entering to the king's throne room and and making my petition known. But she went and you know, had such an impact. Oh, yeah, I love that story. Yeah, yeah. Jesse, you got the second pick. Second pick. You know, I don't I don't think this one is like super deep or anything, but I just I just feel like it really would make a good movie. And I'm thinking more of maybe uh you we could uh put a comedic twist on it. Sure. But I really like the the I I find it so fascinating, and I don't know if there's any other example of this in the Bible, but the talking donkey to Balaam in the Old Testament, when he's walking down the road and a donkey says, Hey, why are you hitting me for? I'm trying to keep you from this angel. And so I'm sure we could build up to that, you know, do some long-form comedy, I see animated or something. But it's just as a kid, and even now I find it so fascinating. Yeah that and then Balaam's sitting there, and this donkey just talked to him, and he's like, Well, you've been, you know, not listening to what I'm saying, instead of being like, Oh my god, you can talk. So I don't know. I just love that story. It is so crazy, and it's just like a couple of you know, it's like a one chapter, I think. That's awesome in the Old Testament. Uh yeah, it's in Numbers 22.
SPEAKER_01It's it's so awesome. I would have never thought of that. That's really good. That's really good. The one the one that was on my mind, and maybe it's because I like, you know, very dramatic movies like this, but um, the one that was on my mind, and I'm sure there's been many movies that have been based upon this, and um maybe not accuracy-wise, but I think if you know, if it was if this book was just the book, was the script for the movie, and you solely went off of what was in the word, it would be an unbelievable, crazy movie. I'm gonna take the book of Revelation at the first pick. I'm gonna take the book of Revelation at the first pick. I mean, it might be some people might call it a scary movie, but I can't. It could be a scary movie. It would be it would be quite in the movie. Um, and then at my next, I got back-to-back picks here. Um Man. I'm gonna take the story. I'm gonna take the life of Joseph at at my second pick. Okay. Uh, you know, just I think that would just make it would be such a feel-good movie, I think, because you know, Joseph, it'd be one of those like zero-to-hero movies. Yeah. You know, going from being sold into slavery to, you know, being falsely accused of something. And then after all this, all this burden, after all this turmoil you've experienced in your life, all of a sudden you're number two in Egypt at the right hand of Pharaoh. You know, you just go from basically zero to hero. I think that would be that'd be an awesome. Maybe there's been a movie, but you know, we can we can do remakes, we can all reboots it. I'm gonna take the life of Joseph at the second pick. Okay. And we'll go back to Jesse.
SPEAKER_03Uh the next one, I really I I think this would, you know, maybe maybe not HBO because just the way they do uh do dramas, uh, but I really enjoy the story of Rahab. Yeah. And you know, to have somebody that just did not live, you know, the best of lives. But when the opportunity came, she hit the spies of the Hebrew nation and um did what was you know right, and she saved her whole family. Yeah. And they may have talked about her behind her back and said, I can't believe what Rahab does for a living, and all of a sudden she becomes the hero of that story. Yeah. And to the point where she actually is is part of Jesus' lineage. Yeah. And so that's just a phenomenal, you know, testimony. And yeah, I think that story could, you know, culminate into a really good movie. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Damn, what you got?
SPEAKER_01You got two, you got two picks.
SPEAKER_02I got two picks. All right, so you know, I was talking uh I was talking to your mom about this one as well, you know. And it may, you know, not be it obviously not a feel-good, you know, type movie, but I would I would say I would want I would want to see like the story of Judas.
SPEAKER_01That was on my list too.
SPEAKER_02I mean, you gotta think about it, you know, from going from, you know, you know, one of Jesus, you know, he to Jesus' disciples to deceiving him. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know, I mean, obviously we know what happened to him at the very you know, the very end. But to be able to know his story, where he came from, how he how it all happened, and get to the point to where, okay, at what point did he deceive him? At what point did what made him want to? We all know what made him want to, but just seeing that and going through the I think would be yeah, yeah. You got you got one more. Oh, one more, okay.
SPEAKER_01Because we're going back this way. Back to back. Let's see. That was on my list, man. There's a really good movie called uh I think it's called Maybe Risen or something, but it's on those lines, you know, like a movie from Judas' perspective. Yeah. This movie, it takes place during the crucifixion and all, but it's from the perspective of a Roman soldier. Yeah. And that's a really good movie. You see the story kind of from his eyes. It's really good.
SPEAKER_02I would go with the story of Abraham.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
unknownDude.
SPEAKER_02Abraham. Faith. Oh, absolutely. The faith right there in my hands. Yes. Just, yeah. Abraham. I mean, that that's a good pick. Yeah.
unknownMan.
SPEAKER_03I really got to reroute here. Go to him, brother. That's mild to me. Yeah. So, in the in in the old Old Testament um and Chronicles and as well as 1 2 Kings, um, it always hits me sometimes when I begin to read his chapter and it says, This is the king of whatever of Israel, this is the king of Judah, and he did that which was good in the sight of the Lord, or he did that which was wicked in the sight of the Lord. And I'm just like, man, when I read that, he did that which was wicked, I was like, oh boy, what did he do? You know, how can he choose that, make that choice? Yeah. Uh, but one of the stories I found fascinating that I just happened to be reading in the Bible one time, and you know, I've read the the read it like we talked about last you know time podcast, you know, the Bible in a year and stuff, and I don't know how I don't remember this story, but it's talking about King Manasseh. And when the Assyrians came, they bound King Manessa in chains and hooks and dragged him to the Babylonian prison. And when he was alone in the prison, he humbled himself greatly and he prayed to God earnestly, and God heard his prayers and restored the throne in his Israel in Jerusalem. Now I can't remember exactly how that story ends if he eventually, once he got back into Israel and what he did, but just that that small segment right there, he's in there by himself in prison, and this wicked king who had done you know the the things that he did, um, to suddenly be like, okay, I'm gonna humble myself. I I rem I know what I would I've been taught, and I'm going back to that, and I'm just gonna start praying to God and God to respond to that. Yeah, even though all he's done, he's he's been punished, he's sitting here in prison, and God's just so forgiving that He's gonna He's gonna say, Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna grant you favor, a prisoner. Yeah. And uh and grant you favor in the eyes of you know your your captors. Yeah, and they're gonna let you go. Right. And to me, that is just such a phenomenal testimony. Oh, 100%. Yeah, it's that that story is just so phenomenal to me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's a great pick. That's a great pick. Okay, I really gotta re rethink my list here. Dad took two of my picks. Yikes. I'm not gonna lie. Okay. Um I was hoping to end off the list with this, but I've got two more after. I'm gonna Okay, yeah. Three, I'm gonna go with a movie about the road to Damascus. Oh, okay The Road to Damascus. Okay. I'm gonna go there. Um I think just having Saul as the main character, and you know, maybe the movie doesn't go, I think it the movie would be too long if you went into his entire life after that. Yeah. But just a story of his origin and the deliverance of his origin going down the road, having the encounter with Jesus, and you know, maybe the end of the movie is when Ananias shows up and brings him his sight back. Right, right. You know, I think that would just be an awesome movie to do. I agree. Um, just because of the deliverance story.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And showing, you know, no matter where you've come from, no matter how much you've been persecuted, or no matter how many people you've persecuted, God can still use you. I think a message from that movie would be great.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01On the wraparound pick here, I'm gonna take. I'm gonna take a movie about Daniel in Babylon. I'm gonna take a movie about Daniel um showcasing his interactions with King Nebuchadnezzar and interpreting the dreams, and then uh, you know, him going around with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and their story included in that as well. So I'm gonna I'm gonna take a movie about Daniel uh in Babylon. I think it's Babylon. Daniel in Babylon. And this is there's a lot more stories than I thought there were gonna be. The Bible is deep. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Alright, Jesse, what you got? Um I think I would do a movie about Methuselah. Just the man who is the longest living, at least recorded in scripture. Um, and just you look at, I mean, think about our lifespan. Yeah. You know, a hundred years you see, you know, your grandparents or your parents would look at it and say, you know, I lived in a time period before the phone, before TV was commonplace, before indoor plumbing. Yeah, yeah. Uh but to see what could happen across over 900 years, just see what kind of change and the perspective of one man, you know, uh going through that all and and the stories he could tell, the things he experienced, both the highs and lows, the ups and downs. And I think that would probably make a really good, you know, absolutely good movie. Yeah, that'd be awesome.
SPEAKER_02All right. My next one. These are your my last two. Your last two. Okay. Well, I'm gonna say the best for last. Okay. Okay. Or I think the best for last. Let me just say that.
SPEAKER_01Um, I'm gonna go to nuts. No, I don't think I will.
SPEAKER_02I would say for me, it would be the story of Seth. Okay. Yeah. Really good. Right? You had Adam, you know, with Adam and Eve, you had, you know, um Cain and Abel, and then there was Seth.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Right.
SPEAKER_02Not much said about Seth.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_02Right. How he lived, where he was, you know, but I would like to, you know, see the story of Seth and, you know, learn more about him. Um my next unfining one would be the leading up to the day of Pentecost.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Okay. God, I am so done with that.
SPEAKER_02That was my last pick. You know, that was my last pick. That would be my last pick. That would be that would be that would be awesome.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. No, I think culminating with the outpouring of the Holy Ghoster. Yeah, yeah. That'd be a really good movie. That would be a really good movie, too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it would. It would. I should have picked it. I should have went before Daniel on that one. That's my five.
SPEAKER_03Oh man, that's a good five. I like it. Yeah, that's really good. Yeah. I think I'm up now. Yeah, and I'll take your your your backup pick. Please don't.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_03I'll I would I would probably, and there probably has been a movie, but there's so many movies about Jesus, yeah, disciples, and everything like that, which are phenomenal. But I think I would pick up on a movie about Mary, Jesus' mother. Absolutely. And just the lead up to the birth. You know, you know, you're talking about a young lady who's growing up and you know, it said highly favored of God, and what what that young life looked like leading up to, you know, the the angel's proclamation, and then you know, that trip to um to Bethlehem. I think there's probably a lot there that people just don't even think about. Yeah. Um, and yeah, I I I I could see some really good things.
SPEAKER_01That's really good. That's really good. Man, dad took my last pick. Okay. Uh I gotta reroute here. Um Great Minus, thank you like there you go. Yeah, it's true. I guess it's in the blood. Yeah. Um, I'm gonna go with uh there may have been a movie about him before, but one movie that I love is uh I love Gladiator. Yeah, yeah. Great movie. Phenomenal movie, really. I love that movie so much, and I think a movie that would be very similar to that is the story of Samson.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01And I I just, you know, seeing how you know you have the strongest man in the Word of God and just God-given strength, yet he still fell and he still made mistakes, and because of these mistakes, he lost his strength. But realizing that Lord, you truly provided everything for me, can you give me that strength one more time? And just that being the end of the movie, there may have been a movie about him before, but I think just you know, that a gladiator-like movie about him, that that would be awesome to watch. Yeah. Three good lists here, gentlemen. Let's see. Dad had um the story of Esther, uh story of Judas, story of Abraham, the story of Seth, and of course, the day of Pentecost. Such a good one. Jesse with a Jesse had pulled out some deep pics that I would have never thought of. Uh the story of the talking donkey to Balaam, uh, story of Rahab, uh King Manessa, story of Methuselah, and a movie about Mary, the mother of Jesus. I had um the Book of Revelation, a movie on that, uh, The Life of Joseph, The Road to Damascus, Daniel in Babylon, and the story of Samson. Three great lists there. Be sure, please, guys, in the comments below, vote on your favorite list, um, who had your favorite list, and uh, we'll see next week what the top five is. I really enjoy doing these.
