The Marvellous Throw In Podcast
Marvellous Throw-In is a football comedy podcast from brothers Ed Gray and Thomas Gray, best known for the viral STAG DO video that he's never been able to capitalise on.
It starts with football and rarely stays there: World Cup chaos, England arguments, Premier League nonsense, songs, quizzes, conspiracy detours and the kind of brotherly bickering that only works because they are related.
Funny, loose, and occasionally honest.

Hello and welcome to another episode of the Marvelous Throwing Podcast. Uh we've had a little break uh after the World Cup, the disastrous World Cup. Um I've only just recently got over it and uh we're now gonna be plunging on into the Premier League season. Was it a disaster? Yeah, yeah. Well, because expectation is so high.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, but was it with a new manager and that squad as well? Yes.
SPEAKER_01Because we didn't win it. I think that nowadays, if we just don't win it, it's a disaster. Yeah. Anyway, oh sorry, I've just sorry, it's just a call. Hello, yeah. Is that um Joseph Manzambi's Manzambi's agent? Hello, it's yeah, no, it's the Newcastle recruitment team. I was just wondering if you if you're still aye, because you said you were gonna sign for us and that. And aye, well, just to let you know, Newcastle's it's it's a it's no, it's beautiful. We've got um we've got like our own grass in places. Um we've just had a wimp meet open up, so that's yeah, it's a source of immense pride for the town. And um, do you like do you like orange sort of like whiny women? Aye, well honestly, this will be the place and what's the asking price? Okay, well, put us down for about 15 million less. Just sorry, two seconds. Sorry, mate. Hello, is that um Victor Moon as his agent? Aye. Aye, well, no, I just um just thought I'd you know I've heard he's he's um gonna bat I've I've lost confidence in this bit. It's good. Is it good? Keep going.
SPEAKER_03Um you've lost confidence in the accent. You're kind of like, it's pretty good.
SPEAKER_01I think this is a you do you can't do a better than a couple of years. I can't. I mean just I'm just sorry. Aye, and he's it. Oh, he's not gonna sign first. R okay, no worries. No, honestly, no, I didn't even think that you would. Nah, no, I'm fine about it. Is all right if you just tell Fabricio Rum Oh nice, thanks. Just very frustrating at the moment being a Newcastle fan because uh we don't seem to be able to sign anyone. Um, and then the ones that we had, they all want to leave the area because there's nothing to do here.
SPEAKER_03It's not that there's and just just for a bit of you know exposition, Man Zambi basically the internet was saying it was done deal to Newcastle, and apparently we were just like took their word. Oh, yeah, fine, yeah, finish the World Cup, that's fine. Don't need to get and then suddenly it signs for Adson Villa. Same happened to Victor Munoz with um Liverpool, and now this summer we've lost Pedro Ekatique. Nice, there was loads, wasn't there? There was loads last summer as well, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um but this is my theory. People are like we are rubbish. No, everyone's like, oh, it's because you know no one wants to live Newcastle. No, I was only joking there. Newcastle's not bad at all. The issue is this. I think I think I've uh it's that Newcastle's not big enough to be anonymous. So if you're in Newcastle and you're Tanali or whoever, there's nowhere to go for uh to get any relief from the kind of oh, because you're you're a you think that's why Tanali left. Well, you're like a Hollywood superstar in London. No, no, no, no, no. I'm talking about the London issue. Right. The London thing is that you can just melt into a bigger city and you're not as important, you can just live normal life. Right. 70% of people won't know who you are. Yeah. Um whereas in Newcastle, it's like a I mean genus called it a goldfish bowl, didn't he, when he left?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Um I mean, Dad has always suggested, you know, lifelong Newcastle fanborn in Newcastle from Newcastle, blah blah blah blah blah. Just why are we supporting Newcastle?
SPEAKER_01Edward forces himself to say Newcastle, have you noticed? So he speaks like this the whole time, but then he goes Newcastle.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, go on. Um, thanks for that. Uh well, it's true, actually. Um, but dad says, why don't we have a training ground? This is this would be wildly unpopular, but logical sense to it, have the training ground in London. Yeah, and they just fly up for the games. That's not dad's idea, that's beautiful. So they can all live in London. Yeah, yeah. I know. But I mean, that would be wildly unpopular. Also, and by the way, Tanali didn't leave because he didn't he would want to get recognised in Newcastle. It was because Tottenham efforted him 275 grand a week. Anthony Gordon's gone to Barcelona, Bruno Gomaris has gone to the Premier League Champions and Champions League final. Yeah, but Tanali went to the team that finished 17th two times in a row. Yeah, but it's Tottenham and the spending and twice as much money. But also, that's the problem isn't it Tanali going, or these people going, I don't have a problem with that, I get that. That's the food chain, as it were, maybe not Spurs, but you know, the other rest. It's it's Man Zambi saying he's coming to us and our career recruitment team being so incompetent or thick or naive or something that they just leave it and go, okay, yeah, cool, cool. This is what it seems like. I mean, maybe loads went on that we don't know. But apparently this was the straw that broke broke Eddie Howe's back with the Man Zambi deal. Uh, we didn't get across the line and he's walked.
SPEAKER_01It's been a history of the city. I'll just leave you a message. Um, just uh one more thing. We've had we've we've finally had public bins installed in the city, so the trash issue is no longer a Internet 2. What? Internet 2. No, not yet. Uh we've also got um indoor toilets in 80 on over 80% of homes. Things like that. Anyway, uh moving on. I thought I would uh plan this part this episode today.
SPEAKER_03But where's when where's Man Zambi from? Because maybe 80% of houses having Switzerland.
SPEAKER_01Ah ooh, I that's I'd like to s yep. Oops.
SPEAKER_03Man Zambi is clearly of African heritage, though. Yeah, but what are you even suggesting? You've been to Africa. Yeah, and they and that 80% of houses, I mean indoor toilets, would be phenomenal. That would be like Atlantis. The two African countries I've been to are Uganda and Malawi. Went to help. I went to help.
SPEAKER_01Atlantis, I believe, was a real place, by the way. Plato described it.
SPEAKER_03By the way, there's a lot of people messaging in, three, saying, where's this conspiracy alien podcast that you were? It's coming. We've got the it's coming, baby. You're pointing at something off screen, but there is a difference between a studio over there, which is a desk and and and hang on, a lava lamp.
SPEAKER_01As much as I'm like because that's alien-y, is it? I am I have been a bit like this, but I'm I feel like I'm like that now, a little bit. Just so, and also start of new term, new whatever. It's coming, don't worry. Do you know? It's gonna be gold.
SPEAKER_03Tom has two moods in life. If you know him, you know it. Well, actually, I don't know whether actually other people do know, or is it just his family? It's either everything is fecking awful and everyone's awful and everything's annoying, or it's this is great. Yeah, well, imagine if we did imagine if we did this. Oh, oh, I'm gonna go to the gym every day for 14 years. Oh, amazing. Yeah, and you know within one word in the morning whether it's gonna be a good day or a bad day. This morning I knew straight away, oh, even if you said, Hey, hey man, yeah, it's like, oh good, it's gonna be a good day. Really? Yeah. And then we played paddle and you lost twice and you're still powerful.
SPEAKER_01Still a good day for you, even though you lost twice to me at Paddle. Yeah. I've six three six times. I don't want to go, yeah, anyway. It depends on what happened through the night. We've talked about the nightmares, yeah. Fine. Well they haven't, I haven't done for ages. Great. Anyway, let's move on from that. That's boring. It's very self, uh you know, I don't like to talk about it.
SPEAKER_03New preseason, new start. Tom now hosts this. Tom, Tom leads this, and I'm just his sort of I'm the straight man. Yeah. He's the gay man.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so listen, little um Premier League starting again. Um I just thought I would put together a little quiz to see how well you know your Premier League history. I do I know it very well. Before I do that, do that rather. I'm very excited. I love the fact you're running this now. I get to answer the questions. I have just set up a little list of predictions that that I think will happen, and then you say yours, okay?
SPEAKER_03Ah, yes. And can we note these? Well, we're recording. Oh, so it's recorded, yeah. Well I know, but so we're not gonna get it.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna ask you your top five, your bottom three. George, can you note this down? Thanks. The FA Cup winners, the Champions League winners, the star player of the season, the Wonder Kid Impact, the flop, and then the first sacking. So I'll tell you mine, and we'll go through section by section. Does that have to be a sacking or just a manager leaving? First sack, first, yeah, whatever. Okay, because anyhow wasn't sacked e def. Yeah, but it's by the way, it's always gonna be a sacking because uh very rarely will a manager resign because then you don't get the rest of your content.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but that's no, but there's a middle ground where it's with mutual termination, which isn't a sacking to leave, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so my top five, not in order. Not in order. Yeah, because what's all right, all right, in order.
SPEAKER_03At least try in order. Top of the league. Oh, let me guess. Oh no, actually, can I try and guess before you say what you're gonna say? I think you won't say Arsenal because it's too boring. You'll either be it would be certainly stupid, like Chelsea because Alonso has signed Wellbeck and um and Henderson, or it'll be that's not the reason why I would pick Wellbeck and Henderson.
SPEAKER_01Arsenal, no, it wasn't until about 14 seconds ago. Um uh so no, yeah, Arsenal, Chelsea. It's boring, but Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Tottenham, okay. Sorry, Arsenal, City, United, Tottenham, Chelsea. Okay. Top five. I think that's a very traditional top five. I know, I'm aware.
SPEAKER_03Uh say it again just so George can type it up. Because of the order of the Premier League team. Yeah, but it's gonna be we're gonna have the video evidence. Yeah, I know, but I want to be able to see it so I can comment on it. So Tom said Arsenal first. Yeah. This is great for viewers at home. Then what City?
SPEAKER_01Then what Tottenham?
SPEAKER_03Tottenham third.
SPEAKER_01I know. Chelsea. I just got fine and then United. So which of United? Man, you know, come on, I agree, but yeah, come on. You know what I mean. Right, so that's my top five.
SPEAKER_03You know Newcastle were United before Manchester.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, but but it's just that's like saying I'm I go away every year for a draft weekend, which is a very nerdy thing. Morgan Morgan Rogers did this before Cole Palmer, but it's the Cole Palmer celebration.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, I kind of get that, but the the they're a lot of the Murray Knight fans, they say you United all the time, and then I go, Oh, which United? And they go, yeah, so so so childish. Like everyone knows because everyone knows what we mean. It's like that's not the point, I don't care. You arrogant lot. All right, I know I do know what you mean, but I'm gonna pretend I don't because it annoys me. Who's your top five? Well, can I just comment on yours, please? So you've no Liverpool?
SPEAKER_01Nope. I think Ariola, uh, because I don't think their squads is for the amount of money, I don't think that you look at their squad, and I'm all uh every time I look at it, I'm like, well, there's even their starting a level. I'm like, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um George is putting his in now, he's putting Newcastle top, which is nice to see. Um Tottenham third. You think Tottenham are gonna go 17th, 17th, hire De Zerby, and then go to third? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Based on signing Tanali, is that it? Well, based on 17 is not really a reflection on the squad. Two years in a row. Two years in a row is not reflection on the squad. It was a reflection on the the rot in that club or whatever. But the club's rotten and they're gonna finish third. Well, they've got decent, like look at their midfield. How many people have they bought? They've bought quite a few, haven't they? Well, they bought Fernandez and and Tanali. Yeah. They are after, I think, uh, who's the left winger?
SPEAKER_03Um have they still just got Solanke on?
SPEAKER_01Cody Gakbo. They've got Solanke and Richarlison, but I think they should they they're not finally three of those two. They're linked with Victor Osiman, who I think would be a really good.
SPEAKER_03He's got to finally come to the Premier League at some point. He's gonna go to something. Always linked.
SPEAKER_01How old is he now? 28? He's not that old. Um, and then they've got, I think, um, I think that Mickey Moore kid could have an impactful season. Not that that's a reasonable. You've been playing football manager, have you? No, no, no. Oh, and yes, I have, but not Tottenham.
SPEAKER_03Um, okay, cool. You've got okay, I'm gonna go, yeah. George has gone Newcastle, he's editing as I speak, so I'll I'll leave that him to do his. I'm gonna go off the off the cuff. I didn't know this coming, but I'm gonna go. I'd be really surprised if Arsenal don't win it again. They they are the best team for a number of years now. Like, obviously, Man City have gone in like spurts have been amazing, but I think Arsenal have consistently been the best team. Their only issue is gonna be they have to buy a centre back, I think, because Saliba's out until like December. And I don't think Muscara can do it. They're weirdly linked with Romero, but and but but they that they've they're buying Romero, they've been linked with like Alvarez, and obviously Vinny Jr. That's ended now. It's Alvarez again, Julian Alvarez. Oh, yeah. One of the best strikers in the world. Um, and they've got Havertz back, and they've got Yorkeres, and Yoko Res was fine last year. He's got like 24 goals overall. You know, people say, I mean, he wasn't um he wasn't like his he wasn't the he wasn't Haaland, yeah. He wasn't the Portuguese version, Portuguese League version. Surprise, surprise. Anyway, so I'm gonna go Arsenal. Yeah. Um, I don't think Man City's gonna finish second just because new manager, it never goes like that in football history. It just never goes a dynasty. Look at Man United, Alex Ferguson goes bum, kaput. Arson Wenger goes from Arsenal, they suddenly out of the floor.
SPEAKER_01Klopp to slot one season wins.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but then it all falls apart. That was kind of a bit of a luck, I think. Um I'm gonna go Arsenal top. I'm gonna go Man United second, Liverpool third, Man City fourth, and Chelsea fifth. Isn't it so depressing that like the top five, like apart from George putting Newcastle top, it's all just the same teams every year. Like surely a Villa or I mean Newcastle would not be favourite. But but Villa or uh um even a Brighton or a Bournemouth or a uh uh Brentford, what those three all finish like seventh, eighth, and ninth this year or something.
SPEAKER_01Couldn't they push on? No, but I exactly I just don't think it'll happen. I think I know I don't think Villa, I think Villa will they'll be fine, but I think they will struggle uh Sans, Rogers, and Champions League. Hang on, just just speed up a little a little bit. Uh bottom three. Yep. I've gone for Hull, yep, switch, and controversially, Sunderland. I knew you couldn't see that.
SPEAKER_03Um I just can't see Sonland going down with Jacca and like they were good defensively as well. Usually when a team comes up and does well, I know I know Flash of the Pan is like Blackpool, they're good, they're not good defensively, but they're just good attacking.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's why I've gone for Sunderland is because it's the same. Like when Ipswich came up, they went up and down. So your three were were um Ipswich, Hull, and Hull. No, so Hull bottom. Yeah, Ipswich second bottom, and Sunderland and Sunderland just Sunderland almost last day, last day of the season situation. I'll go so you think Coventry is staying up. Coventry are staying up, basically. Yeah. Um I love their kit. Coventry feel like a Premier League team to me, just because when I was a kid. Yeah. They remember McAllister and Dion Dublin.
SPEAKER_03And they only got relegated in 2002 or something.
SPEAKER_01L Haji through Hadgee? Mustafa Hadgee? They're the player. Was that Coventry?
SPEAKER_03I think they've got one now called Hadgee, haven't they? Hang on, Mustafa Hadgee. But they feel Premier League because of um Frank Lampard as well. I'll go um Hadgee. I'm just trying to think. Who finished 17th off the season? Yeah, Tottenham. Um I'll go Coventry. I'm just gonna go the the the three teams that are coming up are going down. Oh yeah, okay. Uh I'm gonna go Ipswich, Hull, and Coventry. I know that's boring, but all right.
SPEAKER_01Um and now, just this one a bit quicker because it's easier. What are the prizes for this at the end of the day? Well, I just I I think we shouldn't be we shouldn't necessarily be spending loads of this podcast episode filling out a full. All right, yeah, come on, come on, then come in there, come in, come on, so so um FA Cup winners. Uh Newcastle United. Same as me. Idiots are such idiots. Champions League?
SPEAKER_03Arsenal. Really? I think Arsenal are amazing.
SPEAKER_01Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid.
SPEAKER_03Sorry, I've gone for Josie Mourinho's from Real Madrid as well. I love Jose Mourinho.
SPEAKER_01Star player in the Premier League.
SPEAKER_03So, like Can I just comment one thing quickly on Josie Mourinho? Isn't it so annoying that Eddie Howe left just after Mourinho had gone to a Real Madrid? Because I really think we would have gone for him. And he's always had this Newcastle thing. Yeah, yeah. That is so annoying that he's now Real Madrid.
SPEAKER_01I wonder if that's just him playing sort of respecting Kobe Robinson.
SPEAKER_03He's a Benfica and Roma. He would have come to us and fend a bit. Of the whole Premier League. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know, who's the player of the season?
SPEAKER_03Well, go on, you spare yours what I think.
SPEAKER_01I uh this is gonna be Cole Palmer. I think he's gonna have a good season. I think he's gonna come back.
SPEAKER_03You think he's gonna bounce back basically from a mediocre couple of years? A couple of years, yeah. Um I'll go and this is gonna be who have I put top? Arsenal. Oh no, I can't say Bruni Gamaris, that's too painful. No, don't say it. I'm gonna can I is there a is there one for a surprise?
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_03Okay, for the best player in the league, I'm gonna say.
SPEAKER_01I know actually that's but let's do that. Star player. I've I've put star player, then I'll put Wonder Kid impactors in like who's gonna break through.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm gonna say star player Foden. Really? He's been made one of the captain groups, he's signed a new deal at Man City. He's he's gonna play more, he's gonna stop spending his weekends on the corners of uh uh Levons Hume in Manchester, drinking cider. Does he do that? Probably. Don't know.
SPEAKER_01Um how do you know what Levons Hume is? What's that? That's where I lived. Manchester Rush home. Manchester uh I lived in yeah Manchester is on yeah um Star Youngster or or player to Rio. Wonder Kid Impact or Breakout Star Sean Stir New Guys. I put Miley or Rio, you know, Rio Gamor. Rio Gamoa could be.
SPEAKER_03Although didn't he break out last year?
SPEAKER_01No, I don't think he didn't do enough. He like everyone's like, oh, he scored that first game, got gold against Star's first game of the season.
SPEAKER_03Another shout for it, Buadadi or whatever, if Man City sign in for like 100 million, that 18-year-old Moroccan defensive year.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah, but he won't he won't star next season. Okay. Not with not in front of Elliot Anderson. George has put Volta. I think Elliot Anderson could be a first. Voltabada's 23 though, isn't he? 24. So does that count as a year? Yeah, if if he has an outstanding season if he has an outstanding season, yeah, makes it okay. Okay, now wait. Flop. My flop is Man Zambi. Now that might be impacted by certain things, but Manzambi is an answer.
SPEAKER_03Flop for how much money you know it all costs Bruno Gamaris.
SPEAKER_01I was thinking of Elliot Anderson actually, because he could have a he could have Ah, yes, Elliot Anderson's another good one.
SPEAKER_03Actually, and Tanali's a good one. They could all flop the amount of money that's been spent.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, I just don't think Bruno G will actually go Tanali. I think I think I think Bruno G is far better than Tanali. Yeah. Different players, I suppose.
SPEAKER_01Okay, and then the next one is who will be the first manager to leave? And my answer is Daniel Farca at Leeds.
SPEAKER_03They've they they're quite optimistic. Maybe they're hoping too much now.
SPEAKER_01I know.
SPEAKER_03Um okay, I'll go and I'll I'll go um uh uh what's his name? Sunderland manager. LeBris. Um because they, by the way, have no idea, not in their history of Sunderland have they been in Europe. I think once they played like two games, they do not know what it's like having to go to um Timbuktu on a Thursday and then play on a Saturday. Well you wouldn't go to Timbuktu. Their squad isn't Transylvania there, they might go there. Uh they're not their squad isn't big enough, they're not good enough. They played basically the same 11 every week last year to do what they did and didn't get any injuries. Well, they got a couple actually. But yeah, I okay well I think there you go.
SPEAKER_01There are predictions, so if you'd like to play along at home um by doing the same, maybe you could submit them to us and and uh perhaps we could have a winning prize.
SPEAKER_03You can do that by the way, by clicking uh on the audio podcast. You can click get in touch and it comes straight to us, or just leave a comment on YouTube or audio, wherever.
SPEAKER_01Okay, just um we've now got some questions for you, some quiz questions. But before I do that, these are also quiz questions, Premier League related. This is great, by the way. Well done. Thanks so much. Um, so you know that game where you name three players and you've got to guess the club that makes them, which we love. Yeah. I think I've got two really three really good ones here.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01So you've got two guesses.
SPEAKER_03So for people at home, he's gonna name three club three clubs.
SPEAKER_01So I'm gonna say Alan Shearer, Peter Beersley, Les Ferdinand, and you go, oh, um, Newcastle, for example.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you're doing it for the player way round or the club way round. I'm giving you three players. Oh. Usually we do three clubs, and then you've got to guess who the player is.
SPEAKER_01Like if I said to you, uh, Man City, Liverpool, Blackburn, Newcastle. It's what I meant to do, I've done it the wrong way round. Um, okay, three guesses. Yeah. Here are the here's your first one. Genola, Gaza, Sahar. And you can't say the obvious.
SPEAKER_03Well, Everton.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And Newcastle. Well, I really thought you'd struggle with that one. No.
SPEAKER_03Because, well, by the way, you know why I said Everton? It's because I thought I just knew Genola and Gaza played Everton at the same time. No need to revel. Because Gaza came out famously as a joke with long hair in a wig when Ginola joined.
SPEAKER_01Damn it. I was gonna put someone else in the case. You need to raise the level. Darren Bent, Matt Holland, Herman Horidason. Ipswich. No. Oh, well, there is Ipswich. Uh Charlton. Yeah. Oh man, I really thought these were. I was like, I do I last night I got I like woke up, I got out of bed and was like, okay, um uh uh I got both of them.
SPEAKER_03That's I'm pretty good. I'm pretty good at this, guys.
SPEAKER_01Gibril Sise. Yes. Anton Ferdinand Joey Barton.
SPEAKER_03Marseille?
SPEAKER_01Man City?
SPEAKER_02No, say the say so say the people again. Two guesses. Say say the people again.
SPEAKER_01Cisei? Yeah, well he played for Sunderland. Anton Ferdinand. He played for Sunderland. Joey Barton. Didn't play for Sunderland. One of them would be good.
SPEAKER_03Uh well hang on. Where did where did where did so Joey Parton was at Man City, then he was at Newcastle, then he went to Marseille. Was it somewhere in the middle that I'm missing? It's like West Ham or something.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, you're missing someone. Three. Go just tell me. QPR. Good one.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, that's when uh uh Well, Rio Ferdinand as well.
SPEAKER_01I know, but I said Anton just because I thought it was a bit more, you know. Yeah, yeah. No, yeah, but Rio went later. Rio went later, yeah. Okay. So the prem's back. How well do you know it? Right. Of the 22 founding teams, only one isn't in existence anymore. Of whom do I speak? Wimbledon. Oh, well done. Who's been relegated the most times? And if uh and for an extra point, even though we're not really doing points, how many times is it?
SPEAKER_03Oh, do you know what? I don't know. Uh that's who's been a yo yo club. It's gonna be something like not really child. Um Charlotte or no, not Charles name, I've been about it for ages.
SPEAKER_01Um do you know what? West Ham? Um it's Norwich. And annoyingly you said Norwich, so you're gonna feel like you got it. Yeah, but you didn't offer up the right one. Um five times? Six. Name the only non-European manager to win the Premier League, non-European man Pellegrini.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, correct. With Chilean Man City.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Name the four Italians and see if you can also name the years that they won it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Uh Mancini.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, what year?
SPEAKER_032011? 12? 12. Okay. Mancini. Um Conte. Yeah, what year? For Chelsea in 2013. 17? Gosh, yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Um, should be able to get the one of them because it's uh and the year.
SPEAKER_03Italian, Italian.
SPEAKER_01Um two more. The most famous.
SPEAKER_03Hang on, let me just go through I'm getting scrambled here. Let's go through every single Premier League winner. Man United, 1993, Man United 1994, Blackburn 1995, it's not them. Man United 96, Man United 97, Arsenal 98, not Wenger. 99 was Man United, 2000 was Man United, 2001 was Man United, 2002 was Arsenal, not them. 2003 was Man United, 2004 was Chelsea, not Mourinho, 2005 was Chelsea, not Mourinho, 2006 was go forward about eight years.
SPEAKER_01They're the most famous teams win the Premier League ever.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Leicester, Claudio Ranieri, yeah. What year was that? 2015? 16. 16. And then one more. Um to win the Premier League. Uh most successful manager ever. Pep Guardiola, Alex Ferguson. The most successful manager ever. In terms of the biggest trophies, yeah. Oh, Carlo Angelotti, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03With with um Chelsea. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, it had eight.
SPEAKER_01Name the nine clubs Sam Allardyce has managed. Not County.
SPEAKER_03Uh Premier League, sorry, sorry, sorry. Sunderland, Newcastle, Bolton, Everton.
SPEAKER_01Um where are we now? I've said that.
SPEAKER_03Uh he's he's managed nine Premier League clubs. No, I couldn't believe it. What? I know. I've said Bolton, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Should I just tell you them? Just tell me, yeah. Bolton, yes, I've got that. Newcastle. Got that. Blackburn. Blackburn. Everton. Got that. West Ham. Oh, West Ham. West Brom. Oh. Sunderland. West Brom, I can't remember. Palace. Can't remember that.
SPEAKER_03When was Leeds?
SPEAKER_01He took over.
SPEAKER_03He took over towards the end of a season when they went down, I think. I can't remember. Three of them.
SPEAKER_01And then just this is from the uh this is from Richard Osman. I just started 98. I just text him. Yeah. In uh the 138-year history of the top flight, this is the only season without a team starting with which letter?
SPEAKER_03138 seasons, only two, only one without starting with the only season without a team starting with what letter?
SPEAKER_01W. Correct. And can you name the five that I can think of that have played in the Premier League? Wigan, West Brom, West Ham, Wimbledon. Oh Wolves. Correct.
SPEAKER_03Well, it was obviously W because you just went, well, what letters went down last season? Wolves and West Ham.
SPEAKER_01I know, I know. I should have I could have asked these a bit different in different orders. That's alright, you can write. Anyway, that's my little um intro to the Premier League. Um I'm certainly excited. Um even though I made those predictions on here, in my heart I believe that Newcastle are going to win everything.
SPEAKER_03How do you or George has put Newcastle to win the league, Newcastle to win the FA Cup, Volta Marder to score 36 goals?
SPEAKER_01Well, George has only been in football about four years, so he's still got that fresh optimism.
SPEAKER_03And also every time, yeah, but he he he he plays football manager and he plays Volta Marder and Voltamara gets a hat trick if he does game. Um a few words on Eddie Howe. Are you very upset? Were you upset? I was I was very upset.
SPEAKER_01My uh problem with Eddie. I was very much Eddie Howe in. I remember watching an interview with Garet Neville and Eddie Howe, and he was this was you know during a purple patch, and it's like, oh you know, and he's like, What do you do with your time? Other than he's like, Oh, uh, well, you know, I uh to be honest, not much. I just sort of and he was just so football's like his everything, and I can't imagine. I just hope he's alright. I don't know what he does with this time, he's so obsessed with football. Um, I think it's actually a smart move, you know, because we're all a bit there's a bit of self-preservation in the world. In my head, I think he did it because he knows he knew it was gonna happen. It felt like I uh the way I said to Dad the other day, I think if you rip a band aid off, you do it all at once. Don't just let's have some of them go and then slowly and just quick fine, start again. But he um I think he knows that you know there's always a manager that gets sacked, you know, as I say, I'm predicting leads or whatever. Well, he was thrown under the bus a little bit, all the few players were sold. He would be the first, I know, but he'd be the first to he'd be he'd get that job. So I think I think it's a little bit of that. Have a break, start again, and right the writing was on the wall a little bit, wasn't it? Um well, all his best players are leaving, no one was signing, and he was getting the blame for everything. And it I think he probably hopefully feels a bit guilty for putting his his nephew in charge of transfers because it's it was it's absolutely is that Andy Howe was talking on the phone?
SPEAKER_03That was a Geordie accent. It's Andy Howe.
SPEAKER_01I've got that condition that when I move to an area, I immediately pick up the accent.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, um, I was gonna say before the next episode, Tom, can we watch the Mourinho documentary three parts and just do a whole Mourinho episode? An episode on Mourinho. My my hero. Alright, then you've got a planet. No, let's not take that then.
SPEAKER_01Um, anyway, thank you very much for watching uh and for listening.
SPEAKER_03Uh this is just this is a bit more geeky this episode rather than I think the I think purely I've looked at quite a lot of the pictures of the people who follow us on Instagram stuff, they are all geeks.
SPEAKER_01Oh, they're all geeks, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Some of that geek money. Yeah. Um and for those asking, the other podcasts which I'll be doing on my own over there will be starting very soon, and it will be might not be exclusively aliens. Probably sort of slightly in character, tongue in cheek, like the old days.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I don't understand what that is, but you can you can tell it's an alien set over there for two reasons. One, as I said, a lava lamp shaped like a rocket. And B, the the wire they got for the mic is green. And oh, here's some pictures.
SPEAKER_01This is David Grush, who uh sort of released all the info to Congress to Congress. Um a hero of yours? A hero of mine, pretty autistic, but um you need people like that. And then this is Travis Walton, who um Travis Walton sounds like a country singer. Yeah, yeah. In fact, it might be Travis something. And he um he got uh taken on board a UFO. No we didn't. Yeah, and uh when they found him again, he'd grown a beard because he'd be in he'd lost time several days or so. And um these little you know, the classic aliens um were trying to do some sort of operation on him and he flipped it out, but then afterwards later he's like, Do you know I th they were horrible to me?
SPEAKER_03So he regretted his act his his actions.
SPEAKER_01Uh one second, uh, if you're interested.
SPEAKER_03I will not be involved in this other podcast that is being uh muted. I don't know who these people are in these frames. How much money have we spent on frames?
SPEAKER_01This is David Fraver. Did you get these all printed out? Thomas Framer, David Fravor, uh, who uh was the um pilot during the famous Nimitz Tic Tac um event in 2004. Uh fascinating story. I recommend you go and watch his interview with Joe Rogan. Or um I think he probably does one with Jesse Michaels, I'm not sure. And then of course we've got Robert Lazar, Bob Lazar, um again, massively entertaining episode on Joe Rogan. He's the uh I've heard you say his name loads, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Who is he again with?
SPEAKER_01Area 51, you know about because of him. He's the guy that worked at Area 51 at well, S4 at Area 51, and um who's in charge of back engineering um compartmentalized uh areas of the craft, so he was in charge of the end of the proposal.
SPEAKER_03The craft, we're just assuming that's a real thing.
SPEAKER_01The sports model, he calls it, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Could I ask, just before we finish, because with this isn't a conspiracy thing, but just piques my interest, because there'll be lots of people out there like me that don't really do that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um what is if if you don't believe in aliens, then what do you say Area 51 is just like a government military secret thing?
SPEAKER_01Oh no, it's uh it's no one denies that there are advanced military craft being tested. It's just whether they're alien technology. Yeah, whether it's being back-engineered alien technology.
SPEAKER_03Um at your desk, just we finish and we can show you a set.
SPEAKER_01Why not? Human comrades, welcome to the set of movies with media propulsion. Um, it's gonna be an exciting new podcast investigating the the paranormal or uh uh and the extraterrestrial and and everything in in between. Uh, and probably sort of you know riffing on whatever's going on uh at the time. Um it'll be a weekly podcast. I won't leave into this podcast. Anyway, just so much for those watching. This is the set uh so far. These are some nice cosmonauts coming to my cosmonauts and stuff. Thanks.
