A Prayer for the Heavy Heart
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
This prayer is for the moments when the tears won’t stop and your heart feels too heavy to explain. You don’t have to be okay right now. Just breathe and let God sit with you in this moment. He is not far away — He is right here with you. “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
Welcome to prayer and stillness. This is your moment to slow down. You do not need to perform. You do not need to have perfect words. You only need to be present with God. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, I come before you just as I am. With my thoughts, my questions, my hopes, and my burdens. Please quiet everything within me that is fighting for attention. Help me become still enough to notice your presence. In Jesus' name. Amen. Take a slow breath in. Hold gently and breathe out. Breathe in peace. Breathe out distraction. Relax your shoulders, unclench your hands. Let your breathing become slow and natural. You do not need to rush. God is here. The Bible says, be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46, verse 10. Be still. You do not have to explain everything. You do not have to force an answer. You do not have to fill every quiet moment with words. Sometimes prayer is speaking. Sometimes prayer is listening. Sometimes prayer is simply sitting in the presence of God. Take another slow breath in. Lord, I welcome your presence. Breathe out gently. Lord, I release every distraction. Now let these words rest in your heart. God is near. God sees me. God hears me. God knows what I need. I am safe in his presence. I do not have to be afraid of silence. Heavenly Father, search my heart. Bring peace to every restless place. Give me wisdom for what I am facing. Give me patience for what I am waiting for. Give me faith when I do not understand. Now remain still for a moment. You do not need to say anything. Just breathe. God is with you. His presence is not dependent on your emotions. Even when you do not feel anything, he is still near. Even when you do not hear an answer, he is still listening. Even when you feel uncertain, he is still guiding you. Take one final slow breath. Breathe in God's peace and breathe out every worry. Heavenly Father, thank you for meeting me in this quiet moment. Help me carry this peace with me. Guide my thoughts, my words, and my decisions. Keep my heart close to you. In Jesus' name. Amen. Remain still for a little longer. You are not alone. God is here.
