This is Between Worlds. Your host is Jack Sorin, Chief Reality Officer, Doctor of Cultural Whiplash, Professor of Practical Sanity. And now, here's Jack.

You're not crazy. The world really does feel louder than it used to. It feels faster, stranger, more divided, more artificial around the edges. You wake up, you touch a small glowing rectangle, and before you've even had your morning coffee, you've been informed that civilization is collapsing, someone you've never heard of is evil, and a robot may or may not be coming for your job, your art, your marriage, and possibly your toaster. Now that's a lot to ask of a human soul. The problem is not just that the world is noisy. The problem is that the noise has incentives. Outrage gets rewarded. Attention gets harvested. Certainty gets monetized. Every tribe wants your allegiance. Every platform wants your nervous system. Every argument arrives dressed like an emergency. And if you're not careful, you don't become wiser, you become programmable. For people who are tired of being recruited. For people who care about truth, but they don't want to be cruel. For people who care about beauty, but they're not interested in pretending that the world's fine. For people who still want hope, but they don't want denial, dressed up with better lighting. For people who've outgrown easy answers, but they've not outgrown the need for meaning. This is not rage bait. It's not recruiting. It's not self-help fluff with a ring light. It's a weekly map and a weekly move. We name what's happening, we refuse the false choice, we recover a little agency, and then we look for one sane next step. Now sometimes that step is intellectual, sometimes it's moral, sometimes it is as simple as putting the phone down, touching the real, and remembering that you are not a content unit with a soul. We're gonna talk about many of the usual suspects, but we're gonna do it with a different angle. So yes, we'll talk about attention, technology, AI, politics, trust, status, beauty, meaning, belonging, desire, money, strength, and the ordinary work of becoming more difficult to manipulate and easier to love. Because the goal is not to become a smarter cynic, the goal is to think clearly, live humanely, and find your way in a noisy age without handing your mind, your conscience, or your soul to the machinery.
