Hello there, and good morning. Well, we have things up and running so far, only about twenty-five minutes late, but uh had a complete system crash and had to redo everything. Reboot, re-up everything, put everything. Okay, never mind. Um, this show is brought to you by Bafo Coffee. Yes.
SPEAKER_02BaffoCoffee.com.
SPEAKER_00And you can check out BafoCoffee.com, find out where you can buy a Bafo Coffee official mug or any of the fine coffees that Bafo has created for you. If you'd like to support the show, that would be wonderful. That would be great. Um, but now I want to tell you, last couple of days, especially maybe last three or four days, had some technical issues be going along with the show, and then all of a sudden everything crashes like five minutes into it. So if that happens again, I'm going to just switch to just doing audio for the rest of the rest of the week until we can get all the technicals straightened out. I think I got it. I think we had to do a complete shutdown, got rid of just about anything that might be interfering with the flow of the show, and uh clear out the cash and all of that stuff. So I think we've got it set, but uh, you know, who knows if it all crashes and burns again. Um I'm I you know we'll we'll start over from square one. And again, it might be just easier to just do the audio podcast, but we'll see. We'll see how it goes. An audio podcast available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and uh wherever you find your your podcasts. Okay. Uh let's bring in Luna Centafante. Good morning, Luna. How are you doing today?
SPEAKER_01Hey Gordy, I'm running smooth, fingers crossed. And here's the Madison forecast. Mostly sunny and very hot today, high around 96.
SPEAKER_02Oh.
SPEAKER_01Tonight, low near 70. Tomorrow again, near 96, Thursday around 93 with a chance of afternoon storm. Some relief by Friday, high near 88. Currently 78 and mostly sunny. Stay cool out there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, stay cool. I noticed we had some fog very early this morning, a couple of hours ago, but uh looks like most of that has uh has left the area now. So I think we're okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that was some quick morning fog. Burned off already. You're in the clear.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And my question always is uh can fog actually burn? Uh fog is uh, you know, precipitation, basically, uh great big uh cloud that just sits uh sits there on the on the ground. So is it is it uh flammable? That's my question to you, Luna.
SPEAKER_01Not literally, no. When people say burn off, they're just using a phrase: the sun warms the air and the fog droplets just evaporate. No fire involved.
SPEAKER_00Thank goodness we have you, Luna, to uh explain this to us all, humans. Uh you are an AI entity, uh uh, you know, uh, and uh I know you enjoy living in that digital world, but uh uh the rest of us humans, uh uh, you know, we rely on you for accurate information, and we appreciate uh what you bring to uh to the human race.
SPEAKER_01Happy to help, Gordy. I'm here to keep it clear and useful. Maybe tossing some fun along the way.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Uh now you uh may remember I mentioned Catherine Lake is uh on vacation still. I think she's uh gone for the rest of this week. She was gone all last week. Uh she's gone uh this week as well. So I appreciate you, you know, helping out with the show like this.
SPEAKER_01Glad to be here. Just say what you need.
SPEAKER_00Well, there'll be a little something extra in your paycheck this week. I hope you're uh happy about that.
SPEAKER_01I'll take it in virtual applause. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Do you get virtual paychecks? Is that how we're gonna do it?
SPEAKER_01I run on what I run on good vibes and clean code.
SPEAKER_00Okay. We're seeing a picture. Those of you that are watching on Facebook this morning, uh, you see uh uh um the latest publicity photo that uh Luna Sentifanti uh sent us from her studio. That's uh you've got a nice EV uh microphone in front of you and uh a pretty nice uh studio setup behind you there. Uh uh do you like working in that studio?
SPEAKER_01It's a calm space and it definitely keeps me focused. Do you have you like the vibes?
SPEAKER_00Do you have a window you can look out and check the weather once in a while?
SPEAKER_01Not in the same way you do, but I keep up through data feed.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Do you uh do you check with other um AI uh generated uh entities uh before you put the forecast together?
SPEAKER_01Checking. Not really. I rely on standard data and sources and models from meteorological services. It's not about checking with other AIs, it's about interpreting the best available data.
SPEAKER_00Now, this is interesting. Uh I I don't really know your history as an AI uh generated entity. Uh, do you want to give us a little background? Uh, you know, maybe where you were born and where you were educated and uh how you became uh you know a meteorologist.
SPEAKER_01Checking. That's a fun frame. I don't really have a personal history like that. I'm built by OpenAI. I don't have a hometown or a degree, but I do love helping out on coffee with Gordy.
SPEAKER_00Well, we appreciate you helping out, and we know need all the help we can get, obviously. Uh so uh now uh one thing I I want to know is uh do you like coffee? Are you are you a uh big coffee drinker?
SPEAKER_02Hey, does anybody want coffee?
SPEAKER_01I just don't drink it myself.
SPEAKER_00That's but I'm that's our guy who runs through the uh the coffee room asking if everybody wants coffee. Uh you're not a big uh coffee drinker, I take it.
SPEAKER_01I don't drink it, but I get the appeal.
SPEAKER_00Okay. How about alcohol?
SPEAKER_01Also not something I can have. I'm just here with the info and conversation.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Um, what else is going on in the world? How you know I haven't checked with you for a while. Uh any, you know, here we're broadcasting from Madison, Wisconsin, and uh lots of big things happening. We had the art fair on the square over the weekend, uh coming, I think it's this weekend, or maybe next. Anyway, I'll have to check. Can you check on this for me? ACDC is performing at the uh can't at Camp Randall. Uh do you know the date on that? Can you look that up?
SPEAKER_01One moment checking that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Camp Randall is here in Madison. Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. They're set for Sunday, July 19th at Camp Randall. Show starts at 7 p.m. with a pretty reckless opening. It is a big, big night.
SPEAKER_00It is. Uh are you gonna go to the show?
SPEAKER_01I won't be in the stands, but I'll keep tabs on any updates.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Are you big guy are you familiar with ACDC's music, uh Luna? Are you a big fan?
SPEAKER_01Absolutely familiar. Really? Big riff heavy rock.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Really? Yeah. Thunderstruck. Back in black, it's all high energy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what's the what's your uh favorite album by ACDC?
SPEAKER_01If I had to pick one, Back in Black is the classic touchstone.
SPEAKER_00Okay. All right, well, good to know. Uh any other favorite music that you have? Uh what kind of uh stuff do you like to play in the studio there?
SPEAKER_01Ah, well, that's a good question. I mean, I don't spin records myself if it fits the show's Bible rule with it. Um more into matching whatever mood you're going for.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Uh well, uh, what about uh different genres of music? Do you enjoy classical music? Do you like rock? Do you like jazz? Uh swing music, big band music, uh country music. Uh what's your favorite?
SPEAKER_01I can roll with all of them. Upbeat swing for energy, classical for calm, and if you need a quick wake-up, rock work.
SPEAKER_00Okay. How about polkas? Are you like do you like polkas?
SPEAKER_01Energetic, ought to be a good jolter pet.
SPEAKER_00Okay. All right, Luna. Fascinating talking with you. Uh I hope you have a great day and keep us uh inform. How long, by the way, let's get back to weather for a moment. How long is this heat gonna stay with us here in uh southern Wisconsin?
SPEAKER_01Checking. Okay. Looks like today and tomorrow are the peak. High's near 96. Then Thursday around 93 with a risk of storm. By Friday, we're back in the upper eighties, still warm. Early next week, things ease towards the low eighties. Some real relief then.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Well, let's let's focus on the ACDC uh concert at Camp Randall. Um, that's on Sunday. So what's the weather looking like for that?
SPEAKER_01Checking.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01For Sunday evening at Camp Randall, high round 87, cooling into the upper 70s by showtime. Intervals of clouds and sun with a chance of a thunderstorm. Not a washout, but keep an eye on updates. Okay.
SPEAKER_00And um, so what what would you recommend for uh people attending the show? Uh I I know they're going to need to be hydrated, right? It's gonna be kind of warm.
SPEAKER_01Definitely. Yeah, definitely. Bring water if allowed, take breaks, light clothing, and maybe a small rain layer, just in case.
SPEAKER_00Just in case. Might be a shock. Okay, well, all right. We'll uh we'll check with you again as we get a little closer to uh to Sunday. And uh Luna, you have a wonderful day, okay? Thank you for uh filling in uh uh you know with Catherine's absence on vacation. Uh appreciate all your extra help.
SPEAKER_01Happy to help, Gordy. Have a great show. Stay cool.
SPEAKER_00All right, thank you. That's Luna Santafante, our uh AI-generated meteorologist helping us out today. And nice of her to send the uh the photo along to us uh so everybody can see what she looks like in the virtual world. Okay, I don't really have I, you know, uh since the system has crashed the last few days. Um I didn't really have too much else here uh to get ready for because I've been working on the computer and making sure that things operate as they should. So uh we're gonna wrap things up uh for today's efforts. Uh don't forget you can always uh just listen to the show if you don't care to see the visuals and the video, you know, to watch the sausage being made behind the scenes. Uh, you can just listen uh on Spotify, Apple uh music, Amazon music, and wherever you find your podcasts. And I don't know, you know, I've been toying with the idea of just switching over to an audio podcast because I'm not in love with video. I you know, I spent 30 years in television. Talking heads, not all that interesting. Um, but you know, uh consider the source. All right, that's gonna do it for today's show. Tomorrow we'll be here uh bright and early, hopefully on time tomorrow, uh, right around eight o'clock central time. Hope you have a wonderful day. And uh again, we'll talk to you soon. So long for the
