SPEAKER_00And the pricing model is entirely self-contained between one cent and 99 cents, right?
SPEAKER_01Yes. The price you see on the screen is simply the market's collective consensus of the probability of that event happening.
SPEAKER_00So if I see a yes contract trading at 30 cents.
SPEAKER_01The market is effectively saying there is a 30% probability that natural gas hits that target.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so if I buy one contract for 30 cents and the event does happen, natural gas spikes, what happens?
SPEAKER_01The contract settles at exactly one dollar. You make a 70 cent profit on that contract.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Okay.
SPEAKER_01And if it doesn't happen, if natural gas stays low, the contract settles at zero, and you just lose your initial 30 cents.
SPEAKER_00Okay, here is why that distinction matters so much to a regular listener or like a small business owner. Traditional futures trading feels like you want a glass of milk, so you are forced to buy an entire dairy farm on credit.

SPEAKER_01Pretty much. Or they liquidate your position and lock in your failure.
