left the land because they had famine, then they had a funeral of Naomi's husband, and then her two sons, leaving her with two widowed daughter-in-laws. 00:34:51.119 --> 00:34:55.760 They left that land to go back to Bethlehem because they heard the Lord was at work there. 00:34:55.920 --> 00:35:04.480 They went back in chapter two with Naomi being a bitter, upset woman, saying, I left here with everything I loved. 00:35:04.559 --> 00:35:06.800 I've come back completely empty. 00:35:06.960 --> 00:35:07.760 I have nothing. 00:35:07.920 --> 00:35:13.760 And we saw Ruth begin to glean in the thing and went out to glean food, which was a law set up by God for people who were needy. 00:35:23.119 --> 00:35:30.480 And she went out gleaning, and as chance was would have it, we learned that she came upon Boaz's field. 00:35:30.639 --> 00:35:39.840 And she came back that evening with a load of food, and she told Naomi she was in Boaz's field, and the light bulb goes off for Naomi.
