00:02:55.199 --> 00:03:10.000 And as we look at this, it's gonna be enlightening to many of us because what put Jesus on the cross is what many of us today still harbor within our hearts, and sometimes we don't even realize it. 00:03:10.240 --> 00:03:13.599 So it's gonna be an eye-opener to a lot of us. 00:03:13.680 --> 00:03:18.479 In Mark chapter 15, verses 1 through 15. 00:03:19.680 --> 00:03:22.800 Pilate, Jesus is before Pilate. 00:03:23.360 --> 00:03:31.759 Actually, there were two trials before Pilate, but actually there was a third one when he went to Caiphus, the high priest, who happened to be in Jerusalem that day. 00:03:32.000 --> 00:03:36.080 And he did those three trials within about a 10-hour period. 00:03:36.639 --> 00:03:43.039 They were up all night because they did the sentencing and the trials early in the morning. 00:03:43.360 --> 00:03:49.759 And the Romans, from the moment daylight took place, that's when they went to work, and that's when everything started. 00:03:50.080 --> 00:04:02.319 So the Sanhedrin and Caiphus, the high priest, and all of those guys, they had to have him convicted early in the morning so that he could be crucified that day. 00:04:02.560 --> 00:04:09.439 So it was a toiling, almost really 48 hours for Jesus. 00:04:09.680 --> 00:04:31.839 But anyway, he's before Pilate, and immediately in the morning, that's why they're there early, he'd been up all night, actually, about a day and a half he had been up, and the chief priest held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, about 72 council members, and they bound Jesus, led him away, and delivered him to Pilate. 00:04:32.079 --> 00:04:41.839 Then Pilate asked him, Are you, now underline this next statement, are you the king of the Jews? 00:04:41.920 --> 00:04:45.600 Now notice he didn't say, Do you claim to be the king? 00:04:46.879 --> 00:04:48.959 Some say that you're the king. 00:04:49.360 --> 00:04:52.319 He said, Are you the king? 00:04:52.639 --> 00:04:57.120 Not claiming that you are king, but you are the king. 00:04:59.680 --> 00:05:02.959 He answered and said to him, It is as you say. 00:05:03.519 --> 00:05:07.439 Notice, he said, What you said is true. 00:05:07.920 --> 00:05:10.240 What you said is true. 00:05:10.480 --> 00:05:16.319 Now notice Jesus only speaks when the truth is told about him. 00:05:16.720 --> 00:05:18.959 When it's not, he's silent. 00:05:19.519 --> 00:05:21.600 That's a very important point. 00:05:23.360 --> 00:05:26.959 And the chief priests accused him of many things, and we'll be looking at that. 00:05:27.040 --> 00:05:28.480 But he answered nothing. 00:05:29.439 --> 00:05:33.360 Then Pilate asked him again, saying, Do you answer nothing?
