Hello there my friend. I'm Shepard Sam. And I'm sure glad you stopped by the farm today. Baxter and all our farm friends have a wonderful story to share. So pull up a chair or snuggle under a warm blanket. And let's spend a few minutes together here on Shepherd Sam's Farm.
SpeakerI'm so glad you came back to visit us here on Shepherd Sam's Farm. Baxter has been waiting for you to visit. There he is. Hello, Baxter. T
Speakeroday we want you to meet one of the biggest animals on our farm. He's tall, he's strong, and he's very smart. And even though he looks big and strong, he's one of the most gentle friends you'll ever meet. Come on, let's walk over to the sheep pasture. Can you hear the sheep? They always get excited when someone comes to visit.
SpeakerOh, there he is, Larry. Isn't he handsome? Larry is a llama. Now, some people think llamas are funny looking. I think they're wonderful. Did you know llamas can help protect sheep and goats? That's one reason Larry lives here on our farm. He's always watching, always listening, and always making sure everyone is safe. Baxter helps me move the flop. Larry helps me watch over them while they're grazing. They're a pretty good team. I think Baxter agrees.
SpeakerNow here's something I really love about Larry. Even though he's big, he's very gentle. When boys and girls come to visit the farm, Larry likes to walk right over and say hello. Sometimes he'll sniff their hands. Sometimes he'll stand perfectly still while they pet his soft neck. And when he's happy, especially around children, Larry hums. That always makes everybody smile.
SpeakerWell, one afternoon, Larry saw a little lamb had wandered farther away from the flock than it should have. The little lamb was so busy playing in green grass that it didn't notice how far it had gone. Larry noticed, so he walked quietly over. He didn't scare the lamb. He didn't chase it. He simply stood beside it until Baxter and I came to help. Before long, the little lamb was safely back with its family. Good job, Larry.
SpeakerYou know, being strong isn't about showing everyone how powerful we are. Real strength is helping someone who needs us. That's exactly what Larry does every day. He uses his strength to care for others.
SpeakerThat reminds me of something Jesus taught us. He said, love one another. When we use our hands to help, our words to make people happy, or our strength to protect someone. We're showing God's love. That's something every one of us can do.
SpeakerOh, I think someone wants Larry's attention. There he goes. Always checking on his fly. Well, before we go, I have a question for you. Can you think of someone you could help today? Maybe you could share a toy. Help clean up your room. Maybe give someone a hug. Or simply say something kind. Little acts of kindness can make a big difference.
SpeakerWell, I think Larry has everything under control. And Baxter says it's almost time for the sheep to head to fresh grass. Next time we visit, we'll discover another special friend here on Shepherd Sam's Farm.
SpeakerThank you for spending a little time with Baxter, farm friends, and me. I hope you'll remember what we learned and find a way to share God's love with someone this week. Until next time, take good care of yourself, be kind to others, and remember that God loves you very much. I'm Shepard Sam, and I'll see you again soon here on Shepherd Sam's Farm.
