Have you ever wondered what happens when a letter arrives at Shepherd Sam's Farm?
Today, Sam opens one of the very first emails from a young friend named Alice. Her story about swimming at the beach reminds Sam of someone on the farm who loves the water just as much—Harold the Goat! Join us for a warm story about God's wonderful creation, the joy of sharing our adventures, and how you can become part of the stories at Shepherd Sam's Farm. Come and See!
You can write Sam also. His email is: shepherdsamsfarm@gmail.com

Thank you for spending time with us on the farm. Until next time, remember to Come and See!
Hello my friends. I'm Shepherd Sam and welcome to my farm. Baxter and I love having visitors come spend time with us. Every day is a new adventure, and we're so glad you're here. Come on, Baxter, let's go see what our farm friends are up to today.
SpeakerToday I've got something special to tell you. Ever since we opened our new farm email, letters have been starting to arrive. I love hearing from my farm friends. Sometimes mister Pockets and Miss Betsy come over just to hear what the children send us. Let's see. Here's one. This letter comes from Alice from Alabama.
SpeakerWell now, Alice, let's see what you have to say. Dear Shepherd Sam My family went to the beach this summer. I loved swimming in the ocean. We built a big sand castle and found lots of pretty seashells. Swimming is my favorite thing to do. Your friend Alice.
SpeakerWell, Alice, thank you so much for writing that wonderful letter. I'm so glad you had a wonderful trip. I've never met anyone who could spend a day at the beach without coming home with sand in their toes.
SpeakerYou said swimming is your favorite thing to do. Would you believe? I know someone on the farm who feels exactly the same way. His name is Harold the Goat. Now goats aren't exactly famous for swimming, but nobody ever told Harold that. You see, Harold belongs to mister Pockets. But every now and then Harold decides I think I'll go visit Shepher Sam today.
SpeakerThe problem is Harold doesn't always tell anybody where he's going. Before long, mister Pockets notices Harold is missing. And then Oliver, mister Pockett's little dachshund, starts sniffing around. And pretty soon everybody is asking, now where has Harold wandered off to this time?
SpeakerWell, most of the time Mr Pockets knows exactly where to look. He and Oliver head over to my pond and there is Harold. Sometimes he's standing in the shallow water. Sometimes he's splashing around with his feet, and sometimes he's just looking at his reflection in the water like he's the most handsome goat of all.
SpeakerI always laugh and say, Harold, if you stay in that pond much longer, we're going to have to start calling you a duck. Harold just looks at us with those funny little goat eyes and says I think that means nice to see you, mister Pockets and Shepard Sam. I'm ready to go home now.
SpeakerYou know, Alice, your letter reminds me that God has made such a wonderful world for us. Some people enjoy swimming in the ocean. Some enjoy swimming in a lake. Some enjoy cooling off in a backyard pool. And Harold, well, Harold likes our little farm pond. He thinks it's the best swimming hole in the whole county.
SpeakerEvery place reminds us that God has filled his creation with wonderful things for us to enjoy.
SpeakerWell, Alice, thank you for sharing your adventure with us today. And boys and girls, I'd love to hear from you too. Tell me about your family. Tell me about all your pets. Tell me about something kind that you did. Or maybe ask me a question about the farm. Just send me an email shepherdsamsfarm@gmail.com. That's shepherdsamsfarm@gmail.com.
SpeakerWho knows? Maybe I'll read your letter here on the front porch someday. I get a lot of emails, so please be patient. I will read yours and answer as soon as I can.
SpeakerUntil next time, give someone a smile. Help someone today. And remember that God loves you very much. Come and see.
