Hi, welcome to the Fragrance Podcast. I'm Kiana Maxon and I am so excited to be here. Fragrance is a ministry that seeks to create safe spaces for women to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Whether it's a worship night, inner healing and deliverance prayer, a Bible study, our fun monthly event like morning routine, or now this podcast, we long to see women know the love of the Father, step into deeper intimacy with Jesus Christ, and be filled with his Holy Spirit. And this season of the podcast, we are talking about what it looks like to live as exiles in an empire. How do we as citizens of the kingdom of God live in an empire that is in direct opposition to the kingdom of God? And today I am so excited. I have two of my dear, dear friends, Elle and Shannon, on to talk about what it looks like to open a business, talk about the beauty and wellness industry, talk about discernment, how to walk as citizens of the kingdom of God and live in discernment filled with the Holy Spirit, connected to the vine, in a world in an industry that is in direct opposition to the kingdom of God. And so I am so excited for today. Buckle up, let's go. Okay. Gal Pells. Hey! That's the name of our group chat. Um so excited to have you both on. This is Elle and Shannon. They own a business called Radfacials, and you guys truly just have become my dearest friends. And I am so thankful. I feel like our friendships, I've known Elle for a long time, but it wasn't until this last year that we got close. Yeah. And then I met Shannon through the home. Yes. And it's funny because I feel like I always refer to you guys as like an amoeba, like Ellen Shannon. Besties, more than that, your sisters. Yeah. And I just I love that. So I want to just talk a little bit about today. Will you just tell the listeners about rad facials and a little bit about just your heart and who you are?
SPEAKER_00Whoa. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Starting off. About rad facials. How do we put it in a condensed version? Well, we started our business in December officially. Yes. We've we started our LLC a year prior to that, right? And at first we were just gonna be a mobile spa. Yeah. So we had like this vision, which there's so much to say there of uh like creating like a mobile spa to go to people's homes and events and everything. Um and then it turned and morphed into an actual like brick and mortar.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, God had bigger plans. Oh I don't know. I feel like he was giving us glimpses and images of stuff to just get us like started and act out in faith, and then we actually opened up a brick and mortar in December. So that was where we really got like started, not just doing events going to places.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and you guys do facials and lymphatic.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, we do facials, we have more of a holistic approach to facials. We use ingredients all that are non-toxic and um we try and just get to the root cause of things. Sharma has a background. What's your background that you study? In exercise and wellness, and I study nutrition, I got a nutritional coaching degree, degree, cut that out. I got a nutritional coaching certificate through IIN. Um not the same thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I was more my doctor than anyone I know.
SPEAKER_03Honestly saying, Yeah, I know, but we both try to have an approach of just really finding the root, like body, spirit, soul of like what we're seeing in the skin.
SPEAKER_01There's so much on the skin that's reflecting what's going on internally. Yeah. So that's a huge approach. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Well, and that's something I really love about you guys because you're not just like, oh, let me give you a facial. Yeah. You're like, hey, what's going on with you, your spirit, your soul, your body, your emotion? Yeah. Because I mean, that's biblical. We are all one, it's not separate body and spirit. It's like we're all one and it's all the dwelling place of God. Uh-huh. And so that's what I love about you guys. The very first time I ever saw you for a facial, you were like, What's going on in your life? Like, what are you eating? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like it's all connected now. How's your gut? How's your hormones? Yeah. How's your stress levels? How are you sleeping? Yep. Yes. It's all encompassing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03This is such a reflection. Yeah. So many internal things. Yeah. And so we just try and get to the root cause. Yeah. Typically, no matter what, it's emotional, spiritual.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_03Always.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_03Always emotional spiritual.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_03Even just how they're viewing their body, even how they talk to themselves. Even if they're living in fear and not faith. Like we try and just talk about all that.
SPEAKER_01And I feel like between the two of us, we've tried any diet supplement, like every route and avenue you could have ever done. Yeah. I think between the two of us, we've tackled it all. Yeah. And really it's all been emotional and spiritual. Yes. Every single thing. Yeah. We've both had a wild health journey. It's been cool because I feel like God's been able to use that within us to then bring to our clients where we're like for like I used to kind of shy away from it until like maybe three or four facials in. And I'm like, first facial, like, okay. Yeah. Here it is. Yeah. Like the same.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, and that's the thing too, is I feel like something God showed me this week is I was like setting up this little um diffuser thing in my room. And I was like just trying to like figure it out, right? Like turn it on and off, whatever. It's all these settings, whatever. And Ben kept being like, just look at the manual. And I was like, no, I don't like reading manuals. Like, I just want to, there's a power button, it should just go off. Yeah, yeah. And Ben was like, just look at the manual. And it was just like, man, I feel like there's so many things in the beauty and wellness industry where people, even with like self-help, but just like wellness in general, that our culture has swung so hard. And I'm going to go down these journeys and I'm going to figure it out and I'm going to like try all these things and do all this stuff. When it's like, why don't we ask the person who literally wrote the manual on our bodies and on our self and our soul? Like the creator. Yeah. It's like I remember I heard someone talking about once like if you have a problem with your Mac, you're not gonna like take it to somewhere else, you're gonna take it to Apple, the people who created it. And it's like you guys do that so well. Where anytime something is wrong, I feel like I've learned that from you guys. You're like, so I asked God, not so I called my doctor, not so I went online, not so I went on Instagram, not so I like read into it in this book. You're like, no, so I talked to God, I spent time in prayer, and this is what I feel like he said. And then literally, more times than not, you then go and research to confirm, and it's what God said. Yeah, so true.
SPEAKER_01So true.
SPEAKER_02I just think that like that was something God highlighted like leading into this week of like, yeah, go to the person who wrote the manual.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and that's so good.
SPEAKER_02Read the manual, yes, this is the manual for life, yeah, and like there's so much like that neuroscience and self-help and wellness is catching up to what scripture already said. It's so good. And so good. That's something I just I love about you guys. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00And so I want to know.
SPEAKER_02So you touched on something. You said when we first wanted to start the mobile spa, God was giving us glimpses and images of what it might be. Yeah. Can you share a little bit more for the listeners of like what does that mean? Like, what does it mean to like try to hear from God on something that I I want to do?
SPEAKER_03Thing, yeah. Well, that's the thing I do. I don't want to do it. But we I feel like we both prefer the meeting have our own meeting Yeah, you go first and then I'll Well, this was when I I I knew Shannon from our old place of work. Okay we had met at. Thank God for that. Yeah, thank God literally. And um I was just in a season where I just feeling a stirring in my spirit. I'm like, I know change is coming. I know God wants me to move and do something different with my life, but I didn't know what that looked like. I thought it looked different. I was living up in LA and I thought I was commuting all the way down to Orange County for work still, and I was like, okay, God, this just means a change is coming, and it means like I'm gonna stay in LA, I'm gonna move as many clients up as I can, start my life there, stop commuting. Yeah, and then as I was applying to all these like spas or even thinking about, I don't even think I repl applied to one because I just felt like it was a no in my spirit when I would try and look at the Yelp, look at their website, ask a friend to like talk to a friend who owned a wellness spa for on my on my behalf. And everything in me was like, it just felt wrong. I'm like, well, how am I getting this wrong? I know change is coming. Yeah, so then I was talking to a good friend of mine, Jenna, and she was telling me how at her church a girl was praying for a God idea. And I was like, I want a God idea. Like, why am I doing this all in my own strength? So I was like, God, just give me an idea that is outside of myself. Yeah. And so I was praying and praying and praying. And then a couple weeks later, I got an image of me pulling like this vintage trailer behind me that was I knew, I knew instantly what it was, a mobile spa. Wow. And I was like, this is it. This is what God wants me to do. I never even thought I would ever do that ever. So then I started praying. I was like, all right, God, if this is from you and it's not emotional, have someone confirm it in a conversation today. Like someone that I'm gonna give a facial to when I went to work. I forgot I prayed it. I went to work, and then my last client of the day, who's not a Christian, she oddly enough, just goes, She's like, You're really hard to book with, like, really hard to get in with. Why are you here? Like, why don't you start your own thing? And I said, That is wild. Wow, I was just hearing God say this about starting my own thing. She goes, do it. She was absolutely do it. And I was like, Okay, God, there's my confirmation. Whoa. So that was how I got this image. Whoa. And started embarking on the journey of like trying to start my own thing on the side for events and everything. Wow. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I love that because had you not prayed that that morning, that person's comment could have just flown by. Oh, yeah. You would have been like, oh, I don't know, that seems like a lot. So true. But because you took the time to pray, it's like life things will happen. Yes. Now, whether or not God gave her that idea after you prayed it or not, like it could have just flown by you took the time to ask him.
SPEAKER_01It's so true. So bad. And then you're like waiting and listening and like willing to receive.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's wild.
SPEAKER_03How much more. I know it's so much better. Yeah. I would have just been forcing something because I knew I it was just time for change. Yep. And I would just force something that wasn't meant for me, and it would have been so much more painful. It's like, yeah, God could have used it. Yeah, could God could have done something in it. But I would just have caused so much needless suffering in my life by forcing something because I thought it made sense or I thought it like looked a certain way I wanted to live my life. And I'm like, I'm so glad I just did it. And like it would have been so painful.
SPEAKER_01I think luckily we had done that a lot in our 20s, both of us. That then by the time this was come about, we're like, no, whatever you want to do, God. Like each thing.
SPEAKER_03You're just so done doing everything in your own strength. Oh my god, I'm over myself.
SPEAKER_01And trying to do it my way versus his way, and then messing up or whatever it is, and it's just not panning out. Right. Yeah. So I'm like, I don't want to, you know, yes, have faith, but then also just I guess trusting him and surrendering all of it. I think we just like really try to surrender everything. Yeah. Every aspect of it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Including ourselves and our identities. Like everything. Yes. My ego. Everything.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh. Yeah. I know. Bet and I are in a similar season where we're just like, it's not apathy, but it's surrender. Like I don't even, like, we're discerning a lot right now, and we're just like, I don't even care. Like it's again, not in an apathy way, but in a surrender, we're like, God's gonna do what he's gonna do. Yeah. Like he's heard my prayers. Like there's a season for travailing, there's a season for fasting. There's a season for like, I am like going to court with God in this. Or like I am approaching the throne of boldness. And then there's seasons of like, just my the call is to surrender, sit back and watch the Lord fight for you and watch him join you. Okay, but Shannon. Yeah. So while this is going on in Elle, what tell us what's going on with that?
SPEAKER_01While this is going on with Elle, I I don't even know timeline wise. I think it was when I was actually like in aesthetician school. Okay. Like, or even probably a little before that. Yeah. Timeline wise. So Elle's been an aesthetician for sixteen, how many years now? 16 years? I think 16 years. 16 years.
SPEAKER_03Uh, a long time.
SPEAKER_01And I have for four. So I feel like I had a background on a bunch of other things, exercise and wellness, a bunch of other stuff. But I feel like it's been good because it's I feel like we partner really well together because she has so much knowledge of like in the aesthetic world, skincare. Like I've learned so much from her, and then I've had like other experiences that have helped also with like even just connecting and working with clients that like maybe I didn't have all the years of working with clients kind of thing. So it's been like God's wild, like just how beautifully he's like weaved it. But so I didn't go to esthetician school up until like I guess five five years ago. Okay, and this was BC. Yeah, yeah, this was before crazy. Yeah, crazy now. It's so true. But I remember I was in esthetician school, and like I I used to be really good at at journaling, and at the time I was journaling a ton, but yeah, um, like first week of esthetician school journaling, and I was like, what should I be doing? Like, what's the plan? What's the vision for like post-school? Because I was doing it like 40 hours a week. Like I wanted to be in and out in like four months, yeah, yeah, um, not wasting time. And I don't even remember what the other two were, but the first one when I had written down after praying was um mobile aesthetician van. So she gets this image, she gets an image of a trailer, but mine was like kind of like a sprinter van. Yeah. I was like, oh, that's cool. And like I love traveling, I love freedom. I love it out and about it. But going back to like these images God gives us, like both of us like really value freedom and like traveling and things like that. That it was like, I feel like God can like tailor things to like, oh, he knows us so well. Yeah, like the details that he's like, okay, yes, this mobile thing that like maybe it can start getting you guys moving, but also I have such bigger plans for it, kind of thing, you know? Yeah, so but so I was like, okay, and so they just went to school, whatever, and then it's so wild because I never get my nails done, like pedicures, nothing nails ever. But during establishing school, it was so crazy, it was so stressful. And I was like, I'm getting a pedicure one day. So it was like a Sunday afternoon, and I go to this random nail salon in Costa Mesa, yeah, never been there before. I'm getting a pedicure, and in walks in like our old boss, the place we worked at, sits down next to me. Whoa. She's super chatty, I'm super chatty. She's like, What do you do? I was like, Oh, I'm an esthetician school. She's like, I'm an esthetician. She's like, Come work for me when you're done. I'm like, What? Isn't that wild? I was never mad, like I didn't know anything about this place. Like, and I was thinking maybe I would do like microblading brows. Like, I had no idea. Yeah. And I feel like that was like such a god thing. Yes. She had never gone back to that nail place. I never did. Like, it was so wild, like timing-wise. But so then I met Elle, and obviously, she look at her, she's the most lovable human ever. Like when I first met her, I was like, Who is this crazy woman? Yeah, crazy. And like I loved her so much, I'm like, oh my gosh, God loves this woman, you know, whatever. So we're like slowly becoming friends, things like that. And then we, it was actually Toastmasters that she Elle was wanting to conquer like a fear of public speaking. She kept saying she was gonna like she's like, I'm gonna go do Toastmasters. No one would do it with me. And she kept asking people to do it. I don't want to do it. And then I'd follow up each week. I'm like, oh, did you go do it this last week? And she's like, No, I didn't do it. And I'm like, oh, okay, cool, you know, whatever. And then asked her again. She's like, no, I haven't done it yet. And then finally, like, after a couple times asking her, she's like, You want to go with me? I was like, sure. Yeah. I thought I was doing it, like, oh my being burger. Support. Yeah. Like you, I needed the public speaking even more. Like this right now here would have like stressed me out so bad.
SPEAKER_03Well, I feel like God was like having me step into something that was really scary. Yeah. I was so stressed out. It brought out all my insecurities, all my fears, so much delay, so much self-sabotage. So I was like, well, what's the first thing I can do? And it was like, oh, conquer your biggest fear. Wow. And so I was like, well, the biggest fear is public speaking. And I was like, I'll go do that. Yeah. And I had heard about Toastmasters from my dad, like he did in the 80s or something. It's been around for over 100 years. Wow. So I found a chapter close that I wanted to do, and then um no one would do with me. So Shannon would. And so we started doing it every week. And it was so scary at first. But then we just started getting better at it, better at it. We did for a little over a year.
SPEAKER_01It was wild.
SPEAKER_03And then I was like, oh, Shannon was on her journey. She started coming to church. You even got baptized in that year. Praise God. Oh, all this stuff that I was like, I feel like our value systems really started like aligning.
SPEAKER_01And then I was like, oh, and we both have the same dream. Well, then she had mentioned she like you were going to get the trailer in organ. Yes. That's what it was.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And she's like, oh, I'm going to get this trailer that my dad his childhood friend gifted me for free.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_01And like when you get an image of a trailer, it's the trailer. Yes, it's the trailer. Like vintage candles. So it's from the 60s.
SPEAKER_02Confirmation from the Lord.
SPEAKER_01Yes. And she tells me about it, like kind of just like randomly almost. And I'm like, wait, what? And she's like, Yeah, I'm gonna do like a mobile spa thing, which was like crazy to be telling like your coworker of the place, but obviously, like we had a friendship at the point, whatever, you know, but still you you don't know. I was like, wait, you're living my dream. And she's like, What do you mean? I'm like, I have to share my journal. And so then that's when we like really started like talking about like, wait, should we do this together? Wow. And wow, it was so weird. And speaking of images, going back to like God giving like images, just like paint more of a picture. Elle, like, even I did, I remember praying for her one time, but then like other people have like spoken over, like, I see you like on a stage, like wow, speaking in front of people, and she's like, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm like, no, not me. So then, like, doing like the Toastmasters and like the public speaking, it's like God gives these images and then like a way to like conquer the fears.
SPEAKER_03So now, and I just wanted to be obedient because I'm like, if you, if God wants me to do these things, it's been like eight years of people being like, Oh, I just got this random image of you on a stage speaking. I was like, no. Wow, so I was like, I need to know the tools, like I need to be able to say yes. So I was like, Yeah. So I that's why I also decided to do it is like not only to conquer one of my biggest fears, but also like to be obedient.
SPEAKER_02Well, okay, so that is so big because I think some people think, Oh, I got this prophetic word, I'm gonna sit back and watch it happen. Yeah, no, sometimes you have to partner with God in the botanic. Like, I'm going to then okay, I'm gonna sew prophetically into this, like I'm gonna agree with this word and like walk, not force it to happen. Yeah, right. But I'm gonna do what God has invited me into to get there. Yes. And I think that that is such a huge piece.
SPEAKER_01And like to be prepared. Yeah. I think with obedience, Elle is someone who she is so good at like I know. Yeah, like that's so sweet. Um whatever she hears from God, she's like, okay, like I'm doing, and she will like apply it like immediately. Yeah, it's like it's inspiring. Yeah, and so I feel like it's helped me even where I'm like, I'm not delaying either, you know? Right. And then as we're partnering in a business, I'm like, I'm not gonna be the one delaying our business that we're both actually God's business. Yeah, we joke all the time now that we're like, He's the boss. Like we're just managing rad facials. Right. We're supervisors, we're managers, he's the boss. No, that's all about it. It makes it so much easier and lighter. Like for us being the first six months in our business, people are like, How's it going? We're like, oh my gosh, we love it. Yeah, it's so funny. It must be so hard and so stressful.
SPEAKER_03We're like, not really. Yeah, not really.
SPEAKER_01Because like God's in charge and like literally pray about every single thing.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes, and it's the best way. Well, it's Psalm 127, it's what I prayed when I was starting Fragrance. Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Yes, it's like God is building the house, God is building radfacials, and I feel the same way with fragrance. It's like people like we threw Galantines, we had like 130 women show up, and it was this crazy thing, and all like all this stuff. And people were like, Oh my gosh, that's like so much. And I'm like, Well, I didn't do it. Yeah, like I remember that morning, God gave me a picture of myself lifting this huge weight, and he took it out of my hands and gave me a feather. And that's what it felt like. And it's like when he is in it, when he's building it, like it's not fragile. No, no, it's not, it's not dependent on us and thank the Lord that it's not. Because if it was, it would fail. It's so strange. Because we we are sinners, same by grace, and like we will mess up, and like if fragrance was on my own strength, it would be so not fun. Yeah, yeah, and Brad would not be fun if you guys were if you were doing it in your own strength. Even in the hard moments of like, this is stressful, whatever. It's like, but where else would I go? It's like if you have been touched by the spirit of the living God, you want to step into what he's up to. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because, like, what else are you doing? Like, I remember even when Jesus tells the disciples, like, hey, this is too hard, like, you can go. Yeah, and they're like, Where else would we go? You have the words to eternal life. Yeah, like where else would we go?
SPEAKER_03So true. Yeah, it's so true. That's how I feel too. Yeah, I feel like when you've been shown so much, and then you're like, how do I go back? Yeah, I can't go back. Yeah, there's no going back. Yeah, no. What did it remind me of? Oh, I feel like there's this pastor that I love, Tommy Raimi, and I've quoted this before. And he said something along the lines of like, How many of you think you're depressed when you're just stifling what God's trying to do? And like he he was just pointing to all the prophets in the Bible when they didn't act on what God said, they became Depressed and wanted to die. And he's like, How many of you are just like stifling the fire in you? And I was like, That's so me. Yeah. I could buy funks and stuff. Like, if I get like this like heaviness over me, I'm like, Yeah, I there's so many things that God asked me to be obedient to that actually didn't have anything to do with this. Like pointing out someone at the grocery store to go pray for, or on my walks, and I'm like, No, God, it just happened even last week, and I hated it. There was an older lady that was kind of walking like this around me, and then uh God was like, Go pray for her. And I was like, Okay, I was like, okay, okay, I'll walk down this first, and then I'll turn around and then I'll and then if she's still there, I'll pray for her. And then she was gone. And I was like, I did it again, God. I'm so sorry. And I hate when I do that stuff, and it's like I'm stifling what that fire in me, what the Holy Spirit is saying, and I'm like, that makes me sick. Yeah, it literally makes me feel ill. Yeah, and so I really try not to do that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I really, really try, yeah, especially with the big stuff. Yeah. Well, I think sometimes with that, I feel like normally, yes, you are really good at all, but I feel like we all have our moments. Yes, the fear is gripping. Yeah, but I think sometimes we get like we're like, why? Like, why do you want us to like we want our brain searches for the why or how or whatever. But yes, yeah, but Darren, it was our pastor two weeks ago, maybe three weeks ago, I don't know. But he said clarity is, or maybe it was Bill. Now I'm I don't know. Neither mom, neither one, they're both amazing. Yeah, shout out to Belgium. But they said clarity is the enemy of obedience. Oh, you're liking good. Yes, like you're wanting to like know beforehand, and God's like, no, just trust me and do it. Yeah, even though it's you know what I mean? But it's so good. Because he says it it probably was Bill.
SPEAKER_02Not in those words, but he's like, because I'm I'm in something right now that like it's something that I felt like was a gift from God and it turned into this like just crazy situation. Yes. And Bill was like, but because I was like, why would God lead me here if now it's like hell? And it was something in you know, being Ben's personal life. And Bill was like, if God would have told you in advance what was gonna happen, would you have said yes? And I'm like, well, no, yeah, you're the worst.
SPEAKER_03I'm just gonna try it. We felt like that too when we were like planning things so well, that we're doing things perfectly, like, not perfectly, but like like with wisdom, yeah. And it still was blowing up in our face, and I'm like, why God? Why did I leave like such security for this? Yeah. And then just all of the fears coming out, all the scarcity mindset, all of the like questioning, did I really hear from God? Yeah. So it is wild when I was like, yes, I'll do it. It'll probably look like cute. And like having a bow tied around is like disastrous. Yeah, my biggest wounds are coming out. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01What did you say? We went from the the frying the oven to the frying pan. You know that saying? No, like when we left our old place of work, we went to this interim in between while we were building our space out for like eight months. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03It's like leaving destruction, and then you're back, you're into just you're just like left something that's like similar, like from the oven into the frying pan. My mom used to say it all the time. It's so funny.
SPEAKER_01Like you're just back in the hot seat, right? What is happening? But then it's like now looking back, it's like, oh yeah, we were so in like the refiner's fire, and God was doing so much in both of us, even just like the parallels of it, like with like our identity, like believing so many lies that like were just so against what God had like always like wanted for us, you know. So it was like it's wild. It's so uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_02Well, and sometimes I think God gives us vision for stuff because I feel like we've been in this like kind of parallel journey since we met of like going after God dreams and like doing things he's put on our heart, but it not looking at all what we thought. Yes. And even like yeah, like because I met you guys, and then we I got to walk you through deliverance prayer, and I was just gonna walk through deliverance, and like I feel like there's been a common. Everybody to deliverance. Yeah, everybody, yeah, everybody to deliverance. I just got to, I feel like God's been walking us all through this common theme of like you can't take this stuff where you're going. Yes, yes. Like it was like all the pep talks, like Moses, Joshua, everyone before the promised land. Like, you can't take your idols, your your enslavement, yeah, your Egypt inside of you with you into the promised land. And I feel like God has just been like ridding us of all of our Egypt and idolatry and all this stuff. Yeah. But it's like, had God gave the full picture and the full vision, we would have all jumped on it and tried to like literally jump the gun and make it happen. Oh, yeah. It's so true. Like I remember when I left Canopy, literally a little bit over a year ago, I had fragrance, wasn't even a twinkle in my eye. Like I had no idea what I was doing to the point where I left Canopy, had my tax appointment the next month, and my tax guy who's not a believer, he was like, Why are you leaving this salary? Yeah. And I was like, I don't know. Yeah. And he was like, and and what are you like, what are you doing? And I was like, I don't know. And it's like that, I think, even too, sometimes God will ask you to do something, and most of the time it will make no sense to the rest of the world. Like it will make no sense on paper.
SPEAKER_03So true.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I feel like that happened so much, even just with the decisions we were making. We were like so, like, we would both pray about it separately, talking to God, come together, we'd have the same answers. Yeah. And like people, like in the natural, like everyone's like, you guys are crazy. Like, what are you doing? You know, like you should do it like this.
SPEAKER_03This makes business sense. Yes, it just was like, well, God's not telling us to. Yes. Or we prayed about it and God's like, no, don't worry about it. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02People have well-intended people have so many ideas. 100%. But it's like if you're not, again, discerning and doing exactly what the Lord tells you to do, then like you can end up going down a route that he never intended. Yeah. But it's like what God has for you, like you like he's not gonna, he won't let you do it on your own.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's so true. Yeah. He'll he'll break you down for sure.
SPEAKER_02Well, and that's so that's the other thing. There's oftentimes so much crushing that happens before a promise. Yes. And so much refining that happens before a promise.
SPEAKER_03It's so worth it though. I take it over being comfortable any day. Oh my gosh. I don't even want to live that life anywhere. Yes.
SPEAKER_01No, no. And then we felt like it was even at like hyper speed.
SPEAKER_03Like I felt like it was in a microwave. Yes, like it was just so fast. Yeah. Every week God's revealing something that needs to be pruned. And I'm like, I like this now or that now or whatever. Yeah. Or like, why do you why do you say these things about me, but you actually don't live them out? Like, why do you say you trust me and I'm trustworthy, but you're acting like I'm not because you're doing it all in your own strength? Or like fear on finances, like, oh my gosh, I just left safety. Now how am I gonna make rent every month? I thought it would look different. Yeah, and then he's just like, Do you do you actually believe that I'm like the ultimate provider? And I'm like, I have to like check my theology all the time. Do I actually walk this out? Like the discrepancy between the two, and like, yeah, I logically believe something and I'm living out a different truth. And he like was fusing it all together, and it was so painful.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, oh, it's so painful because he's literally that's I feel like it's the journey. It's like where is our theology and our heart like far off? And that's gonna be a painful journey to get it aligned. It's so uncomfortable, and it takes constant checking, oh constant time with him because you could just easily it's so true.
SPEAKER_01Well, then like your mind is like such a battleground, yeah. And so I feel like that even for us, like renewing our minds like crazy, like these like lies you believed about yourself, and then us like speaking God's truth over us instead, and then like our bodies following suit, and like so much healing taking place, like it's just so true.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so true. Well, and I think that God entrusted you guys with radfacials and with this journey because it's not just this one area you're wanting him to move in. Your entire life is orbited around him and his spirit, like you guys are so connected to the vine, and it's even like it's it's the person in the grocery store. It's like you're not just obedient in one area, and I think that's what God desires. It's like obedience in every area, like obedience in your relationships, obedience in your friendships, obedience with your finances, obedience with everything, and obedience with rad. Yeah, because I think a lot of people just expect like I want this, I want God to do this. Like, well, what does the rest of your life look like? Like are you actively like or people like I want more of the Holy Spirit? Yeah. Or I want God to do some crazy big god dream in my life. It's like, well, what are you cultivating an environment in your soul where the Holy Spirit has room to speak and tell you things that he might want to remove or he might ask you to put down? Yeah. And it's like that's what you guys do so well. Yeah. And I think is what took you on the journey from not just running with the mobile spa thing. Yeah. So talk about that. How did you go from okay? We both saw this vision from God for mobile spas, how did it turn into brick and mortar? And what did that discernment process look like?
SPEAKER_01Oh, whoa. Oh man. We have to probably first talk about me. Like leaving our old place of work.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. It was it was a journey to get to that point. It was probably how many months? Like nine or something. I was gonna say eight or nine months. Yeah. Nine months or yeah, probably like eight or nine months. I'd say yeah, eight months, eight months. Yeah. Because we we thought even exiting would look a certain way. Yeah. We were we had another business where we were making jewelry on this side just to cultivate start getting some like income and create something, and we had it in a few stores. Be able to leave. Yeah, we had it in a few stores so we could just then funnel it to building out these trailers. Yeah. Shannon actually found almost an identical trailer that she had purchased too, so we could have two we could take people back into them when we go to people's homes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So we were dead set on that vision. We had someone that was gonna build it out. It was so expensive though, yeah, for what we wanted with the bed and the cabinets and water in there and all that. So we were like, we have a lot of money we have to raise. Yeah. We had a GoFundMe. Yes. We had, we were just trying to hustle. We were doing everything. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Whatever ideas God was giving us, we're like, okay, let's try it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. And it and it helped, but it didn't, it it wasn't what we thought it would look like. Yeah. Where we thought that would funnel all the business. We would just have these on the side, slowly leave our workplace, um, and do that on the side and like get to do both.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That did not help. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01God's like, no, no, we're exiting completely.
SPEAKER_03I know. And that was really uncomfortable because I had been there for 12 years. Yeah. And it was safe. I had been booked out for two months at least. I used to call her the queen of that place. I called her the mayor. If I'm the queen, she's the mayor. Because everyone came to her for their problems. Everyone came to her for fighting injustice.
SPEAKER_01I was the advocate. Okay. You asked that to protect her. And then if I was not hadn't eaten and I was running on adrenaline.
SPEAKER_03Watch out. Yeah. We've been on a journey for healing blood sugar shoes for years. So good. I guess I didn't. I thought, surely I'm not gonna be able to get it. So like so loyal. I think God had to make me really uncomfortable to stay in so many facets that I would have never wanted to just leave. I would feel like I was being disloyal. Yeah. Yeah. But he made it so clear exit completely. I thought it would look like part-time, trickling out, yeah, building up this, it's not safe. And he's like, no, exit now. Wow. We had asked for every other Saturday off so we could do events, we could sell our jewelry at pop-ups, and we can do all that and build our trailers. And she, um, one of the ladies that was um like does the scheduling was like, that's too hard on our schedules. Like you can't, like two people off at once. And I'm like, I get it, I get it, I totally did.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so then we were like just like so clear. Yeah, like God, what do we do then?
SPEAKER_03Like, how are we even gonna do this on the side? And then we had randomly, this not randomly, because God's not random, but right.
SPEAKER_02Isn't God just so it's just so weird, it's so spontaneous.
SPEAKER_01But Shannon, you had this uh friend of yours called, like a simple friend, yeah, an old roommate of my sister's reach out and was like, Hey, wait, we're starting a spa. And I'm like, Oh, that's so cute. Like, we're not interested, we're doing our own thing. Like, I was like, No, no, sometimes I can be a little blunt. Yeah, she's just like, oh, we're not interested. That's so cute, but like good luck. Yeah, yeah. And he's like, wait, wait, wait, will you just like hear us out? And I'm like, okay, fine, sure. Yeah, we'll hear you out, but full transparency, we are starting our own thing, we will not be with you long, you know? Yeah, yeah. She was very sure. Yeah, I wanted to, and then just like clear in the beginning, you know.
SPEAKER_02And I actually want to pause on that for a second because that's the thing is God will like God will not make you lie or manipulate or lose your integrity in order to get to the promise He has for you. That's so true. Like, like I think that oftentimes we think that like God has this thing and now it's in our own power to get it. Yeah. And it's like the fact that you were saying, like, okay, but here just so you know, full transparency, this is our plan. I'm not gonna lie to you and say, I'm gonna be here forever. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to be honest because I know God has a plan for me and it's not on my own, so it's not on my own shoulders to get there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's so true. And even backtracking a little, I think our old place of work that we were talking about, that was like eight or nine months. We prayed like daily for discernment. Like, I think that was like the beginning of like this whole discernment journey. Obviously, discerning years and years probably, yes, but like specifically with like the business and everything God was doing to us, yeah. We prayed like every day. And so then I feel like then God was giving us opportunities, like even this one. Yeah. We're like, okay, well, here you hear you out. And so we meet with them and Well, I wasn't even gonna go. Oh, yeah, yeah. Because I was like, I have all my clients, but I'm gonna go to that. Right. I wasn't waiting.
SPEAKER_03I was like, Shannon, maybe check it out. Right, right. I did not want to. Good luck with that. Yeah. But the only difference is the thing that got me was we could have been independent contractors with total autonomy of our schedule. Yeah. And I've got, oh, that's interesting. That's the one thing I do not have here. Yeah. Yes. I had a like a really smooth schedule and could not, I didn't have the capacity to build anything on the site. Yeah. So that was what got me. I was like, I wasn't at first, but she was talking about the perks, and I was like, okay, maybe I was here. Let's just go. Let's just go hear it out.
SPEAKER_01We like prayed about it before. Yeah. We sat down with them. Yeah. We left the meeting and we're like, well, this is like too good to be true. Like, then you know whatever.
SPEAKER_03I mean, it was everything we'd ever hoped for, dream, dream for wow. So we're like, we support you doing events. You're gonna be training you want to do. Pay for you. Wow. We're like, what? This is when we not least on ever.
SPEAKER_01When we leave. Right. And it was, we were just like, okay. And then we prayed about it. We prayed about it. I said, I heard it. Yes, we walked into Mother's Market and we both were like, yes. Like, yes. I've heard from God at Mother's Market.
SPEAKER_02I'm not kidding. He said one of the most profound things to me ever at Mother's Market. What is it? Another story for another time. No, but we were walking on the cartoon. Stay tuned.
SPEAKER_01And we're like, okay, let's pray, we'll pray about it tonight, whatever. And they're like, no, let's just pray about it right now. And we both prayed, and we were like, Yes, peace. Total peace, too. So much peace. Which is all we needed. Like Else always says it. She's like, if I have peace, I can literally do anything. And I feel the same way. Even if it's scary, even if it seems hard, even if it's with someone who's like your enemy. Like you know what I mean? Yep. Yes. So then we were like, okay, let's just do it. And so we sent the text then. We're like, we're in. We're in. Wow. Wow.
SPEAKER_03Yes. And it was through a few months because it wasn't built out properly yet. Yeah. We were still like doing some finishing touches. Yeah. And so then we finally exited. And then this is what we're talking about. It was not at all what we were told. It blew up, it felt like it blew up in our faces. Like anything that was a promise was actually the complete opposite. Wow.
SPEAKER_01But do you remember even before we started in that like three-month interim before we went there? We were like, you know what? Even because people are like, this might be too good to be true. Like people were saying that. We're like, no, but if but we were like, you know what? Even if it is, like it's our ticket out. We're supposed to be out. So like we're just gonna trust God with it, whatever that looks like. Yes. Yeah. So then forward to like the three months it gets built, we get there, and it's like day two blows up in our face. So scary. Like so bad.
SPEAKER_03It was so scary. I started spiraling. I'm like, why did I leave such safety for this? Yep. God, we're we heard yeses. You've been trying to have us exit for a month. So like, what the heck? We were, I mean, spiral. Like my like existential crisis. Yeah. What am I doing? Did I even hear from God? Am I even supposed to be doing this? Am I changing careers now? Like, I just blew up my entire career to leave on faith. And like it is not what we were told.
SPEAKER_02Isn't that funny though? It's like we trust God if our circumstances line up with it. Yes. And then he's like, I what I've said has not changed. Yes. It's like Joseph in the pit. You said you gave me the dream. Yeah, so now I'm sitting here in a pit. Yes. It's so great, but so good. That was the very thing that gave you guys the discernment and confidence. 100%. And I want to just pause here in the story because what you said was so important. You prayed every day for a year for discernment. Yes. You guys are two people who are marked by discernment. And it doesn't just come. Yeah. Like I think people, and we all do this. We expect God like, I want this gift. I want that gift. I want to see the spirit move. It's like, well, are you, again, are you acting on this? Yeah. Are you constantly in you guys too? You talk about God like a friend. So then I asked God about it and I talked to him about it. And it's like, you call people friends who you spend time with. Yeah. And you call people friends who you know. Like you're not acquainted with God. Yeah. You are in deep friendship with the Holy Spirit and with God and you know Him deeply. And so it's like it takes those things friendship with God, and we prayed for discernment every day. Yeah, we did.
SPEAKER_01We've had we have friends like, well, we want discernment like that. And we're like, start praying for every day.
SPEAKER_02And he's gonna say he's not gonna give you this massive thing to discern at first. He might say, Hey, I want you to go pray for that person. Yes. Use your discernment.
SPEAKER_03Or it's someone's character. Yes. And then they're like, oh, I did kind of feel funny or whatever. And I'm like, I was like, you should pray about that feeling. Yeah. Like you should figure out what that's saying. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Like sometimes we know, and then I used to do this. I'd violate whatever I felt like God was speaking. I'm like, oh, I'm just being judgmental. Yeah. Oh, I'm just being uh religious. Like it's really, it's not that bad. They're not that bad, or whatever. And I'm like, oh, I violated so much of like the Holy Spirit talking to me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Because the enemy will try to thwart your discernment. Yeah. Every single step of the way. So you discerned leaving the place of work that you were at. Now you're at the new place. Everything starts blowing up, and the enemy's gonna come in and say, Yeah, you never should have left. Um, are you sure? Yeah, are you sure that this is what God says? Like, did God really say the lie that goes, tail as old as time? Yes, back to the garden. Did God really say? Yeah. That's so true.
SPEAKER_03That's so good. And we have to stop talking to well-meaning people. Like in our family, I would have a conversation with a family member and they'd be like, Oh, was it too late to go back? Or like, should did you make the right decision? Like, can you call them and ask if you can come back? Or like we're gonna be able to do that. We're like panic and we're like, we don't need that. I'm like, well, I'm not gonna talk to you about this anymore. Yeah, yeah. Well-meaning, but like I'm not talking to you this way.
SPEAKER_01And I feel like God is even highlighting that too. Like, he's just like he was highlighting stuff in dreams for both of us. Wow. Crazy dreams. Like warning us of people, even well-meaning people, and people we love that it's like you don't talk about these things.
SPEAKER_03Or like don't let them in, they're gonna come as like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Like they're a Christian and they're gonna actually soak chaos, like dreams, like warning dreams about like well-meaning.
SPEAKER_01Like the dreams we were having over the course of that whole time, and even still, like you still like I think that's discernment too, is like what's happening that's a good thing. Yes, burning in you.
SPEAKER_02And I'm reminded of this um metaphor, you might have heard it, but um, it's people talk about like bank tellers, when they are trained to spot counterfeits, they don't spend time with counterfeits, they spend so much time with the real thing that the second a counterfeit comes across their desk, they can spot it because that's not the real thing. That's so good. And so it's like you guys, it's like spend so much time with the real thing, so much time with the presence of a holy God that when another spirit, because it says like the devil parades around like an angel of light. Yes, he's going to masquerade as a spirit of truth, as the Holy Spirit, as God, and his demonic spirits are going to come and try to lie to you and cause chaos and confusion. But you spend so much time with the real thing. Oh, yeah, the second chaos, the second uh masquerading spirit comes across, you feel it, you know it. You're like, that's not it. Something's off.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, that's how we feel. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And that's what you walk out, that's what you love. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh. But God also made our world much smaller. Like, yeah, there was so much pruning in friendships, I feel like, too. Yeah. To really just cultivate what he was doing, and that was painful. Yeah, a lot of betrayal, a lot of being misunderstood, and just like I feel like my even my friend groups started getting smaller and smaller.
SPEAKER_01My community. Yeah, but he's rebuilding. Yeah, it's like he's like been bringing like he had to like remove those people to create the space to have just other people more. They can't have like a a voice, they're gonna lead you this way, yeah, even more needed people. Yep. So that place it like blew up in our faces, and then we're like, we gotta we gotta start making moves, you know.
SPEAKER_02So it's almost like God allowed it so he could put the fire under your butt. We were in coffee shops, yeah.
SPEAKER_01We were like
SPEAKER_03Come in 50% off, offering 50% off to everyone we learned how to run our own business there because nothing was being done for us. Yeah, it was amazing, but we had no overhead, it was beautiful, it was like the most safe people. You can do this. Yes, yes, it was so good. So we got to cultivate tools that we didn't have. It was like how are we marketing? And God's like, pray about everything each week. What I want you to focus on. We literally would be in the car, we'd have a list of things that how can we get people in social media, da da da da, like people we know who are like micro influencers, going to coffee shop, do this, and then God's like, pray about each one, and we think it would be the most important thing, and God's like highlighting the least important thing. He's like, Because we're like, okay, do this today. We're like, we'll do that. Maybe it'll reap more than we thought.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and the blessing can come in different ways, like even if we did it this way, but still maybe someone reaches out on social media or whatever. Well, and I feel like so.
SPEAKER_02This is my recent soapbox is I love it. Don't go to AI for your business ideas. I know, yes. What you guys have done is I know this for a fact. So we spent soul time together, soul time with God, and we came together. Like, you guys have prayed and asked, every idea has come from the Lord. Yeah, not from Google AI, like whatever. Like you guys, I think that is like one of the biggest like deceptions in our culture right now is that you can get knowledge and everything from AI instead of once again going to the creator of all things. Yes. Like people, like you guys have gotten every single idea from God, and I know that from just being your friend over the last over a year now. It's like every so God told me this. God showed me this. Yeah. Like going back to health issues. I didn't like God showed me this. Yeah. And I just think that that's something you guys love so well. The Holy Spirit is the ultimate creative director, CEO, like brand manager. Like the Holy Spirit is your brand manager. He is your promoter, he is your CEO, he is your PR, like he is everything.
SPEAKER_03It's so true, true. Yeah. I know what was this? I heard this one pastor say, like, so many industries right now with AI, like are cutting edge that they are making so much money. And one of the industries that can see a trend and get on it the most is the porn industry, he was saying. Like they just pivot, pivot, pivot, and they're just expanding more and more. They're like, Oh, we're gonna get on the scene here, we're gonna implement this, like, we're gonna use AI, we're gonna like, but they and then the pastor was like, Why aren't people filled with the Holy Spirit even more cutting edge? Why aren't we above things? Why isn't it are we spending time with God? And he gives us an idea that was like exploding and creating like prosperity for God's kingdom. Why is the porn industry the one exploding? We're like, why aren't we asking God for God ideas? Why aren't we asking God for creativity? Like and he'll be like, get on this, get on that. Like that's why God told us too with this. He's like, stop getting stuck in the old. I am gonna keep you moving, moving, and trying new things that are gonna not make sense. Yep. And that's scripture.
SPEAKER_02He literally, Isaiah 43, like, forget the former things, see you do not do you not perceive it. It springs up all around. I'm doing a new thing. And then he says, I'm forming streams in the desert, rivers in the wasteland. Things that make no sense. Yes. There are not streams in a desert. Yeah, a wasteland is not full of rivers. So he creates something out of nothing. When something seems impossible, he makes it possible. And so it's like, but we have to let go of the former things, or we're not gonna be ready to receive the impossible thing.
SPEAKER_01No, it's so true. It's so true. And I feel like with all that, it's like as you like embrace that and really allowed that, like it's like we don't want it the other way. Like we're so in the flow with like God with that, that it's like, yes, yeah, like it's so much almost easier to just I don't know, yeah, keep surrendering, keep being obedient kind of thing. Yeah, yeah, right. So then what at what point did you guys say it's brick and mortar? Oh yeah. So then it was starting start to blow up, and then so we're doing all these things, hustling, and then we're like I know, and I'm like, God, this is so uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_03Like every, every month, how are we gonna pay rent? Every month, how I just love security for this. How are we gonna pay rent? And then I was like, this is so uncomfortable. And I was like, it's never gonna get better because you're meant to keep moving. We're like, oh yeah, I can embrace the suffering of some sort of the dying to self, the dying of security, the dying of my ego. Yeah, like like truly, like ego, my ego had to die. I'm like, I've been in this industry for this many years. How am I now struggling? I used to be like booked out, you know what I mean? For like two or three months.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's like so much imposter syndrome coming up in both totally. What are we doing? Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03But he's like, you have to be uncomfortable. You're gonna stay.
SPEAKER_01So then we started just we're like, okay, let's just like start looking for our own like brick and mortar, but we're like, how are we gonna do that?
SPEAKER_03So unhealthy too. Yes. That we were like, we just gotta get out and start our own thing then.
SPEAKER_01And then we had like also no capital at all. I mean, we had our cars as like collapsing. Like, I got my forerunner. Yeah. I got my forerunner, she's got her Jeep. Like, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's so true.
SPEAKER_01And the trailer, I guess the you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03We have a trailer for camping and stuff, plus the other two ideas.
SPEAKER_01But like, truly, like no cap. So like, God, how are we gonna do this? Yeah, yeah. So it's like all these things, but then so we started like driving around just kind of in the area, looking at places, seeing like leasing, and like so many places weren't like even renting options. And the place that we were in was an industrial unit. Okay, and it's so wild too, because if we hadn't gone there, I don't know that we would have thought to get an industrial unit. And now it's like God, you're so wild.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but we were kind of stuck on the idea of uh like mobile spa or bust. Yes, yes. Like I did not want to open a brick and mortar, it seemed like so stressful, so much overhead. We didn't have money, yes, and that too. But people would say, like, oh, maybe you should not send both trailers out and use all your money to get them renovated. Maybe you guys should get a warehouse and we're like, no, no, no, God's done this. We were stuck on it. No, no, no, no, no. Like, no. But then God started softening our hearts, and he's like, no, actually, that's wow. That we had to pivot.
SPEAKER_01But then we were still, we were still like wanting to also still send out the trailer and do the brick and mortar. Like we were gonna do it like simultaneously. Yeah, it just looked different, it just looked different. So we're like, okay, fine, we're being open to it, being different. So we kept on like be open, you know, whatever. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And then Shannon was calling all these places. Remember when I was in facials, you'd call all these places? Uh-huh. And I she had called on them all. We viewed a lot. Yeah. I was walking by one right down the street from where we were working. And um, as I was walking down, Shanna had called on this little unit already. Yeah. Because we had seen someone move in, she had called in it, we knew there was no openings. Yeah. But I was walking by and God said, Turn back around and take a picture of the leasing office number. And I was like, why? Like, we already know nothing. And there was open. We saw someone just move in. Yeah. And um, I was like, fine. And I never turn around and walk. Like, I when I'm walking, I'm walking. Yeah. And I like I'm doing it for like exercise. I'm not just leisurely walking. I'm like, I'm moving my body. Right. So I was like, I turning, I'm turning around. Yeah. Turn around, take a picture. Didn't think anything of it. A week later, we were having like a creative meeting with God. We were like, I think we were fasting a little bit that day. We were at the park praying and fasting, and we were like, let's just pray. We need vision. Like, yeah, what are we doing, God? How long are we gonna stay at this place? We were just lost a little bit. And God kept that going forever because he's like growing dependency on him. Yes. So we'd be like, doing what God said and hit a wall, praying and fasting again. Doing what God said, hit a wall, praying and fasting again. And then I was like, wait, God reminded me, call this number. I was like, Shannon, let's call this number. Called.
SPEAKER_01Call the number. She's like, come at 2 p.m. today. You can come. She's like, we don't have any on that street you're talking about, but we're like one, duh. In another unit, just a couple like a mile down the road. Wow. She's like, come check it out. Wow. So we're like, okay. Wow.
SPEAKER_03Shannon had called in and they never mentioned that. We're like, what? Wow. Yes. That they had another property.
SPEAKER_01So we go check out the unit. And other ones we had looked at, we walked in and were like, no, no, no. We walked in this and we're like, yes. Like both of us were like, yes, yes. You could feel the charm. We could see, we could see it like visually. We needed a lot of help though, but yes. Yes. And then we were like, okay, like let's pray about it.
SPEAKER_03What do I need to let you know? Yep. She goes, I won't rent it out from under you. You'd let me know.
SPEAKER_01And she's like, I also won't charge you first month's rent. Just do the deposit. Yes.
SPEAKER_03Like so much favor. Beyond favor. She's like, I want to make this easy on you girls. Just deposit. We'll start your lease next month if you want it. She's like, fill out the application. She's like, do whatever you want. Incredible.
SPEAKER_01And then they have to like run your credit check, everything like that. Yep. Two days later, she gets back to us and she's like, hey, she's like, actually, run your credit check. I saw one of our friends who follows us on Rodfacials. Yeah. She's like, she's like an old like family friend. I reached out to her and was like, How do you know these two women? Wow. And our friend was like, 10 out of 10, 5 star review, whatever they want. And so the lady's like, it's yours. That is crazy. And then also everything in the leasing terms. There was like stuff we didn't want in there. Yeah. And she got rid of all of it. Wow. So it was just it was so god.
SPEAKER_02It's all God's timing though. Because, like, once again, sometimes I think in my life, I'm like, God, why didn't you just tell me this was a plan all along? And he's like, It's because you never would have done it. Like, had I told you this a year ago, you would have been like, no. What are you freaking out about it? And the fact that he's even more kind to be like, I just need you to take this next step. Promise I'll show you the next. It's like the call of Abraham, like, go to the land, I will show you. You know, it's like it wasn't like, here's all, here's what you're gonna happen, and I'll go. Yeah. Go to the land, I'll show you. It's like oftentimes it just takes, again, what you said was so key. God was growing dependency in us. Oh, yeah. Of like, he doesn't just give you everything right away because then you're like, great, I got everything I wanted, and now I'm just gonna move on. It's so like he shows dependence in the dependency in you over time. Yeah, it's so good and painful. Well, and I think that's something that marks you guys so much with rad facials, is I tell people this. You're not like when you go to them for a facial or a lymphatic drainage, you're not just getting the service, you're getting the Holy Spirit. Like you're getting affirmation, you're getting loved on, you're being healed in so many more ways than just the facial or just the lymphatic dream. And that like that is what I tell every single person. I'm like shouting for the mountain tops. Like, rather. Like anytime I need to get someone a gift, I'm like gift certificate to rat. So I want to say, like, that is what makes you guys different in an industry that is so opposite to the kingdom of God. Yes. So can we talk about that for a minute? Because I know you guys have had quite the journey in the beauty and the wellness industry because it has become like the self-help, beauty and wellness, like everything, like health, everything becomes something that God created and cares about, becomes so new age, witchcraft, everything creeps its way into it, and then it weirdly just merges and morphs and starts creeping its way into the church. And it's like, yeah, you guys, I feel like I had so much experience with that. Yeah. How do you, as believers, combat the new age movement of beauty and wellness?
