Brandon Andres Green, host of Good Neighbor Podcast Tulsa, sits down with Apostle Scott Lovett of Real Church in Tulsa to talk about faith, local ministry, church planting, inner renewal, and what it means for church to become real in everyday life.

Apostle Scott shares how Real Church grew out of years of ministry, revival work, outreach, and helping other churches get started. He talks about raising up ministers with character, not just calling, and why he believes the church should be a place where people are known, loved, challenged, and helped to grow.

Real Church Values And Mission

So can you give our idea, uh our listeners kind of an idea of what kind of church this is?

SPEAKER_00 0:56

Well, we're um actually 100% Bible, okay? We're spirit-filled. Um, we're local. We're local, we're not a denominational church. Um actually, I plant churches and raise up ministers and train ministers um in character, not just their calling or just their gift. So um God called me, my wife and I, we we traveled for uh 13 years on the road, um, went from church to church and assisted a lot of churches with outreaches and revivals and and the ministry and touching the lives of people. We really have a heart to see our country come back to the love of God. Um, now when you're saying real church, a lot of people say, You think you're the only church? No, um, there are a ton of great churches out there. We are people that love God, we serve a real God because we have real issues.

Amen to that. And so, how did you get started?

Scott’s Calling And Origin Story

How'd all this come about?

SPEAKER_00 1:51

Well, actually, um, I've been called to the ministry since I was four years old. So the first time I was in a church, my dad uh didn't know the Lord very much and uh had been an alcoholic, and God had touched him and delivered him. And uh I was in church at four years old and felt the power of God and uh had a had a moment with Jesus Christ. And uh I started um got saved when I was four, got filled with the Holy Spirit when I was six and eight years old. I started uh prophesying in my local church in Ufala and always knew I had a ministry call. And so uh God just walked me through that, and I didn't know that I would start a church in Tulsa. When God told me to start one, I told him there was enough to spit and hit one. Why did I need to start one? Because I was out on the road, and he said he wanted to raise up local churches with all the ministry gifts and operation where it wasn't just one man that was the focus of everything, the whole body is the focus in Christ.

Trauma Healing And Soul Renewal

Yeah, I have Scott C Love It Live. Um, it's um at you can find it on Facebook, you can find it on YouTube, um, you can find it on Grace Network. Um, recently I just got finished doing a whole series on trauma. Trauma is found in the Bible, it's the word for wound, and uh, we went through how to get healed, how to forgive. You know, not only does God want to save our spirit, he wants to save our soul. Your soul is your mind, your will, and your emotion. We start in that relationship with God, but when we learn the principles of God, they're the principles that produce the most good in our life. So at Scot C Love at Life, it's just me. I'm just talking about the principles of God, loving on people, and praying for people. And uh, people's what it's about to me. I love people, and everybody has a different story, everybody has different pains and different things they're going through. And uh uh, we won't solve it any other way, it's got to start on the inside.

Eternal On The Internal Principle

So, do you feel like God's giving you a special message to the body?

SPEAKER_00 3:47

Yeah, well, I I definitely um I I love the principles of God's word. So when I look at God's word, everything is a process, okay? So we're talking about how we change from our nature that causes everything to go bad and demonic influence, fear, all of that, into following God. God, I always say good is God stretched. I feel a real call to the nation, real call that people would under understand the principles. And one time when I was praying, the Holy Spirit told me, he said, if you get the eternal on the internal, it affects the external. If you get the eternal on the internal, it affects the external. In other words, if we get God on the inside and he flows through us, we can create with him and do powerful things on the outside. You know, you and I know we're living in a time where people are making money off of man's weakness and it's destroying so many people. Um, but God is the key to that because if we can get God on the inside of a man, he'll think of what does good to his brother and not just what makes him an almighty dollar.

What An Apostle Actually Does

Wow. And can you give our listeners and me just a little background? What does apostle really mean?

SPEAKER_00 4:58

Okay. Well, a lot of people, there were original 12 apostles, but when you go to the Word of God, there's more apostles, okay? A lot of people they take the title, a title like pastor, okay? We like to say the pastor is over the church, you know, um, and some may call theirself teacher or prophet. Apostle is a founder. So, what I do is I spend my time gathering up as much resource as possible and planning works, helping ministers, helping nonprofits, helping ministries, and it's all about them. A lot of denominations, they charge fees. I'm all about plan to go work, walking through that work with the person and helping them. The Bible defines, actually defines Brandon, it defines what each one of those works do. Okay? A lot of people just throw the title. There are people that are overseers of churches that are not pastors, but we call them pastors, um, but they're actually like a teacher. A teacher's always got his head in the book, always looking for the latest deep revelation. But someone that's really called pastorally, they feel a deep love for the flock. Now, the apostle, I can touch all the other ones, I help them, but my whole goal is to cause uh everything that Jesus is to flow in that church. Jesus was an apostle, Jesus was a prophet, Jesus was a teacher, an evangelist, and of course a pastor. And so it takes all five to grow the body and grow people up. So an apostle just pretty much raises up ministers, puts others before himself. The greatest of all is servant of all, and that's what I feel down to the core.

Planting Churches Through Relationships

And so are you launching other churches in your area or or how does it or nationwide? How does that even work?

SPEAKER_00 6:37

Um, what happens is uh yeah, I've I've churches that I've launched and helped here in Tulsa. Um, ministers come to me and they say, Brother Scott, we want to grow. I have a ministry mastery class. You can find online ministrymastery.us. I have helped churches in other states, Texas, Arkansas. Uh there's a ton of churches that I help. And uh they call on me and I help them get through hard times. I help them grow. Um, I love on the ministers whenever they're torn up uh from people issues or life issues. I love on the body, and so it's a lot of different places, but that local church structure is very important because the Bible says to know those that labor among you. And this is where even our community we fail because we really don't know the people that are leading us a lot. It's it's very dangerous not to know who's leading you. It shouldn't just be, you know, on a media promotion or something like that. Um, you should be able to come to real church and get to me and I get to you, and we we form a bond of relationship. Now there are levels of that relationship, but it's important that you're known and you make yourself known.

Money, Tithes, And Serving First

And uh, are you uh creating competition for yourself? And are you a pastor that's getting paid off of tithe and offering and you start another church? Is that going to affect uh how much you're able to support your family?

SPEAKER_00 7:59

Um actually, I don't I don't operate that way. Um I never have. Um actually I use as much of the money when I look at the tithes and offerings that come into a church, that's not my money. Okay, that's God's money. Now, a portion of it, a workman's worthy of this hire. But what Christy, my wife, and I have always done, we put the gospel first, and God keeps care of our needs. Um, we do not make a humongous salary because we're not about the money. But there's never been a time we went without. God's always, always spoke to the hearts of people. And um, so we do that. So when I help another church, I'll literally go and dump out money, start chairs, sound, we'll build a relationship. Um, if I feel called, we go and we help them, and I walk away. And uh after they're they're formed. And if God speaks in their heart to get back to the ministry, the help found them, which is fervent fire ministries, that's on them. But um, I want God to speak to people's hearts. I don't want it just to be a pressure thing. It's so much more beautiful when God speaks to the hearts of people.

Funding Ministry And Staying Frugal

And do you have a special fund for this? Do you are you just always saving for the next church that comes along, or how does the funding come about?

SPEAKER_00 9:05

Exactly. So, like whenever I go out and I help other churches and I preach a revival or whatever, a lot of times they'll give me a love offering. That love offering then goes back into fervent fire, and fervent fire produces multiple ministries out of that. Christine and I, we keep ourselves very limited, right, on how much we spend. I'm very frugal. Um, I obey God with this, but we go out and we plant as much as possible. So, like real church here. Real church was established in three years from me going out and helping other churches. All the money was brought home. Um, we're here at 4315 South Sheridan in Tulsa, Oklahoma. And um uh we do a lot of outreach. We have an outreach coming up at the end of July that's called Mission Possible. And this year um it is for young people that are coming from the other churches and in town. Um, and this year it's called Respect, um, the character of a fire carrier. And we're gonna teach them responsibility, excellence, um, servanthood, punctuality, ethics, um, um, compliance, and teachable. And these are the words that they're gonna learn. And so I'll scholarship a ton of young people. If they go to missimpossible.info and they don't have the full $85 for the three days, they could put scholarship. And we're gonna do everything in our power to get that young person to come. Of course, those that do have the funds, a lot of them, they'll give extra and scholarship. So when people have a heart for God, those those works, they go forward. I give all my time and labor um to fulfill that. And so, so that's one way, okay? So, but real church is our congregation. It's here in Tulsa. We do stuff, and then we have fervent fire, that's the national organization.

Mission Possible Youth Camp Vision

And can you tell me more about your program, your television program?

SPEAKER_00 10:52

Yeah, um, Scott Love It Life, I'm just really energetic. Um, just get on. My one of my latest ones I've done is um on Soterology. Maybe you don't know what that is. That's a total walk of salvation. I have a book that goes with it, and uh, we talk about all the steps. I'm saved from my past sins, I'm being saved right now, and I shall be saved from my future sins because I'm in a relationship with Jesus, and I'm not giving up on that at any time. And everything in that Bible, it's teaching me to have a relationship with God and with man. So Scott C. Love It Live does that. I also at one point went to all the capitals of America, all 50 state capitals, hand-delivered letters to all the representatives, the senators, the governors, and the judges, told them that God's judgment was going to come on our nation. There's going to come a divide because people are not being filled with God, and they are supposed to be civil servants, not civil celebrities. And this is where we're at in our country. But God can only work in the hearts of man. I had one lady say, Is it biblical for you to go to politicians? I said, Well, Moses went to Pharaoh, and they need a heart change too. They're people too, and you can get caught up in money and fame and fortune, but God loves this country. God wants us to bring his light to man, and so that's another thing that was called the Capitals Tour, started 2014, into 2020.

America, Revival, And Root Causes

And what do you see in store for uh America and our church at large? Do you have an idea?

SPEAKER_00 12:26

Yeah, well, we're kind of in dangerous times just because we have so many churches, denominational churches are closing their doors more and more and more. Um, and people are pulling away from the message. Like Christianity is is bad. Well, Christianity is not bad. Being Christ-like is good, but churches are shrinking. So my goal is to raise up local churches where people are known and know one another. God wants a last-day move of God. What does that mean? Does that mean that in times Jesus can come back anytime? My job while I'm on this planet is to get Jesus in as many hearts as possible, because only Jesus can change a man or a woman or a child from the inside out. And it's the love of God, the love of God and his principles that bring the most good in our life. And so, as far as our country, uh, there are people that are going the wrong way. Drugs is never gonna heal anybody. The doctor, they're gonna give you a prescription. Thank God God did put herbs and stuff in the earth to temporarily relieve symptoms. But I want to get to the root cause, I want to get to the internal source. I want God to fix it. And uh, God is still at work in the United States of America. And I believe we're gonna see a revival come in the hearts of people as they realize this stuff's just hurting me more and more. Adding sin to sin. And when we say sin, we're not about just something mean. I'm talking about just adding sinful things to try to heal ourselves, it won't work. And a lot of people are self-destructing destructing while we're speaking. The family unit, all sorts of stuff. So it's going to take the truth, and it's gonna take people that say, hey, the way God created everything, if I live his way, it's best. Sin is actually missing the mark. I'm not hitting the bullseye here. I'm looking for it, but I'm not getting it. And Jesus forgives us because he's always trying to teach us, he wants us to have that relationship with him.

I know that so many people um in the church and out of the church have been hurt in one way or another. Life hurts, but then also when you get us all together as a group, we tend to hurt each

Prayer For Healing And Compassion

SPEAKER_02 14:31

other. Would you um maybe speak a blessing or a prayer over all of our listeners and just really speak life into them right now?

SPEAKER_00 14:41

Sure. You know, it's really, Brennan, it is impossible. Now, listen, I'm a man of God, but I have I have sin issues too. I have I have strengths and I have weaknesses, and the truth is sin hurts. Did you know my own sin has hurt me? And sin missed the mark. My own sin has hurt me, and I've hurt people I love with my sin, not even meaning to, but this is where the love of God flows, because it takes the love of God to forgive yourself, the love of God to forgive yourself and to forgive others. So right now, Heavenly Father, I thank you for those watching. I ask God the Holy Spirit would touch people, God. I ask God that because God, we hurt and we have hurt others, we would understand, God, we would understand what it is to have compassion on one another. I ask God that your love would would flow. I ask God that we plead the blood of Jesus. Jesus, we love you because you showed us what sin would do on the cross. You showed us the pain that it would cause. But God, you didn't leave it there. You died for our sin. So we would have a resurrection, a resurrection of love and joy and peace and faith. And God, I I ask God, you would flow over families, flow over our community, all the false stuff and all the hurtful things that goes on in Tulsa and around the uh America. I ask God right now, God, that you would send the killing virtue of Christ from the inside out. And God, that we would have a relationship with you. God, I I speak against trauma. God, we traumatized ourselves trying stupid stuff, God, but God, we want you to cleanse us now, forgive us of sin, wash us clean, and come and teach us. I thank you, God, that we don't have to be afraid of you, God, because God, we reverence you, but God, when we're in a relationship with you, God, you're leading and guiding us into all truth, and that's what we're seeking in Jesus' name, amen.

But then on the other hand, I also don't want the devil beating me up with my conscience, trying to condemn me. See, I'm not condemned, I'm in Christ. I'm convicted. That word convicted means at the root of it is convinced. I'm convinced I need God's help because I have some issues here. But we're training the students that. And if they want to get uh camp completely for free, want to walk through the school, they can get a voucher um for camp. But the school is K all the way through 12, and uh we can get you through there, get it paid for if you come and walk through the school. And I'll talk about even the tuitions. So we help with that and we're going forward. So we got a lot of things going on in Tulsa. Um, got lots of churches I affiliate with, a lot of churches um come here, uh Battle Crime Ministries, we have a New Beginnings Church, Stephen Ballard over at Queda, Anchor Fellowship. Uh, there's just lots of pastors I help um all around, uh, from here all the way across the country. But it's not about me, it's about their vision, what God's doing, and we support that. And I support anyone trying to help people get through this life and kick the devil's teeth in. That's what we need to do.

Uh, we have my wife and I, we have five CDs out and we have powerful praise and worship, and um, but we let all the giftings move. We have we actually we don't have a business board, we have a board of ministers, apostle, prophet, evangelists, pastors, all raised up, elder ministers, trying to help and equip the saints. And so um totally open, totally transparent. Some people they get scared of too transparent, but it's just how it is. How am I going to to deal with help you with your issues if I don't deal with mine? That's what leadership is. That's what that's what growth is. And you're doing a great thing, Brandon. Don't stop what you're doing because God is up to good things all around us. In the middle of a world that seems like it's crashing, it's not crashing. God's still a builder, he's a creator, and he wants to recreate the mess we've made.
