Today is Monday, august tenth, twenty twenty six. First up, lawsuits and AI. A federal judge dismissed a declaratory judgment suit filed by DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse against Sony Music Entertainment and Sony Music Publishing. The court found that the Ohio filing must yield to Sony's own infringement suit already underway in California. Meanwhile, Bandcamp deactivated Boy George's account and removed his AI-assisted pro-Israel track, We Will Dance Again, citing its policy against substantially AI-generated music. George publicly accused the platform of bowing to pressure from anti-Semites. On to streaming and tech. Amazon Music served as the exclusive global livestream home for Outside Lands 2026, which ran August 7th through 9th. For the first time, Amazon offered two simultaneous livestream channels across the Amazon Music app, Twitch, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Samsung TV Plus. Separately, Suno has ported its voices feature from its website to its mobile app. That tool lets users record their own vocals into AI-generated tracks. Now, live and touring. Chapel Roan announced the Super Graphic Spectacular, a two-day fundraiser at LA's The Shrine on October 21st and 22nd. The event benefits trans youth and LGBTQ communities through her nonprofit The Midwest Princess Project, which has raised more than $800,000 since its launch. An Australia's Beyond the Valley 2026 New Year's Festival sold out before general public on sale, driven by a lineup headlined by John Summit and Skepta. On Artist News, Grammy-winning producer William Orbit has died at age 69. Orbit was best known for his work on Madonna's Ray of Light, Blur's 13, and Records by Pink and Beth Orton. He died at his London home on July 23rd. His family made the announcement public this week. Finally, International. Live Nation has struck its largest ever investment in Central and Eastern Europe. The company acquired a 51% operating stake in a joint venture covering three of Prague's leading venues. The O2 Arena with a 20,000 seat capacity, O2 Universum with 5,000 seats, and Forum Carleen with 4,000. Czech Investment Group, PPF Group's Best Sport, holds the remaining 49%. The deal is subject to regulatory approval. That's your music industry rundown. Have a good Monday.
