Ten years. Ten years since 21-year-old Arizona native Chelsea Yasser was left for dead in a parking lot -- her last moments captured on security footage. Her killer, sitting in the driver's seat of a maroon van, has never been identified. Now, in a first for the Aurora (CO) Police Department, a podcast has been created to bring listeners inside the investigation, to help find Chelsea's killer, and to close a case that has haunted so many investigators over the years it has become known as The White Whale, a reference to the infamous foe of Captain Ahab in the classic novel 'Moby Dick."

On May 15, 2016, 21-year-old Chelsea Marie Yasser arrives at a Burger King in Aurora, Colorado before disappearing from security camera view. Less than 30 minutes later, footage captures a violent struggle inside a dark red van in an adjacent parking lot. The footage shows Chelsea exiting the vehicle and collapsing.
Ten years later, her murder remains unsolved.
In this premiere episode “The Dark Red Van” of APD Presents: The White Whale – The Chelsea Yasser Story, investigators and officers recall the chaotic first hours of the case as they respond to a woman down call, piece together grainy surveillance video and begin the search for a dark red van that may hold the key to what happened to Chelsea.
