How Shall This Be?

"How shall this be?" It's the question Mary asked when she couldn't reconcile what God said with what she could experience. In this message, we sit in that same tension — the gap between the promise and the manifestation — and look at Luke 1:37: "For with God nothing shall be impossible." What does it actually look like for God's word to come to pass in an ordinary life? Preached by Andrew Kitaka at RCCG Victory House, Chicago.

Um uh so I have a short time today, but I'm um I'm I'm trusting that God will um cause to flow out of me wisdom, um that he'll he will speak through me and that uh um our ears will hear, our hearts will receive, and our eyes will see the word for what it is, not the word of a man, but uh the word of God, the incorruptible seed that is able to save and to change our lives forever. Amen. Hallelujah. So I have a lot of gadgets here. I'll put some of them down. Um today I want to um when Pastor E um gave me the opportunity to preach, and he was like, Oh, what are you gonna teach about? I just um sensed in my heart that I'll teach from uh a book that the Lord gave me in 2014. Uh, it's called The Spirit of the Word. Um, it's a it's a beautiful book.

Hallelujah. It was straight from above. Sometimes even me when I read it, I'm like, ah, I'm not this wise.

Glory to God. If you were to title uh my message today, um it would be How shall this be? How shall this be? How shall this be? If you open your Bibles and please help me um look up um Luke 1 and verse 37. That's where we're gonna start. Luke chapter 1 and verse 37. If you're there, say amen. Okay, we have somebody that is there. We'll wait a little bit for um a few more moments and allow some more people to get there. Luke 1 and verse 37. What we have on the screen says, for nothing will be impossible with God. For nothing will be impossible with God, for nothing will be impossible with God. At least we have one person, two people in here that believe the word of God. For nothing will be impossible with God. Hallelujah. Um, I believe that we can just stay right there and we can call it a service. If if we were to remember just that one word, we could be set for our lives. I have come to understand that one word from God is enough. One word from God is enough. My amplified classic Bible says, for with God nothing is ever impossible, and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. For with God nothing is ever impossible, and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. This is saying that once God says it, there is it has to come to pass. Once God says it, it has to come to pass. Now, later on we will see what you and I need to do, but I believe that we can just take it for what it is. The Bible is saying that no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. So every word that God speaks can and should be fulfilled. Amen. Every word that God speaks can and should be fulfilled. Again, how shall this be? Now, some Bible scholars have started um um uh welling up in their hearts because they know the answer. Glory to God. We shall get to it. For with God nothing is ever impossible, and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. One word from God is all that you need, and you can be set for life. If no word from God is devoid of power, that means that God does not speak empty words. Is that right? And the power in God's word is meant for something. The power in God's word is meant to effect change, it is meant to effect change, it's meant to change situations. So the only thing that you and I cannot do is the thing that we have not um read or we have not heard God speak. Amen? If there is anything that you and I cannot do, it is only that thing that God has not spoken concerning us. So when God tells us as a church that our commission or part of our commission is to release potentials and to impact the world, that means that He has given us the power to be able to fulfill that word. Amen. But where does the power come from? Where does the power come from? Ezekiel two and verse two Ezekiel two and verse two. The Bible says I will read from verse one. The Bible says, and he said to me, Ezekiel, son of man, stand upon your feet and I will speak to you. Oh Ezekiel 2, verse 1. And he said to me, Ezekiel, son of man, stand upon your feet and I will speak to you. And verse 2 says, And the spirit entered into me when he spoke to me and set me upon my feet, and I heard him speaking to me. Amen. Let's go back to verse 1. It says, And he said to me, Son of man, stand upon your feet, and I will speak to you. Verse 2 says, And the spirit entered into me when he spoke to me and set me upon my feet. Who set me upon my feet? Yes, the Bible says, and the spirit, so the word that was spoken carried the spirit, and the spirit caused what God had said to come to pass in my life. Hallelujah. Praise God. And the spirit entered into me when he spoke to me. The Bible says that the words that I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life. I believe that's John 6, 63. The words that I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life. So, how shall this be? First, we discovered or we found out that nothing is impossible with God, and no word that God speaks is void of power. And then we realized in Ezekiel 2 and 2 that when God speaks, the spirit of God moves into action. And the spirit of God causes what God has said to come to pass. Amen. So how can how can I be sure that my change is coming? Or how can I be sure that um the things that God has placed on my heart, or the things that that that I desire, that go the desires that God has given me, how can I be sure that they are going to come to pass? Two words. For nothing is impossible with God. Amen. And the spirit will enter into you. Praise God. Luke 5.5. Let's see an example of the word of God and the power or the impact of the word of God. Luke 5.5. The Bible says, and Simon answered, Master, we have toiled all night and took nothing. But at your word, I will let down the nets. I would like you to um consider the fact that Simon was a professional fisherman, right? And he had been fishing for a long time. I'm sure he knew the ins and the outs of what it means to fish. Now, in all his experience, he had come to a place where his experience was fruit uh uh was futile, it was not fruitful. And it was easy for him to give up, right? Now I want you to look at your own life. Maybe there are things that through experience have seemingly been impossible, or maybe you have given up on them, or maybe um you have you have let it go. It's uh it's acceptable, maybe not today, right? Maybe experience has taught you that it's okay for now. Peter was in such a place, after all, it was just one night, right? He had gone out fishing, he had gone out to um to fish, he hadn't caught anything. Okay, we shall come back tomorrow. But Jesus said something, and Simon was was wise enough to know that even though experience was telling him a certain thing, there was something else that supersedes or that that overpowers experience, right? And that that other force or that other element was the word. The Bible says that because you say so, or at your word, I will let the nets down. And we know what happened next, right? What happened next? Can we move forward? And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. Hallelujah! Maybe somebody's nets need to break today. Hallelujah. So the word of God does not have a respect for experience, the word of God does not have respect for what has been happening before it's instituted. Your life may have been on a pause, your life may have been on a standstill. But just because you have received the word of God concerning your life, that you will move forward or that your situation will change, ladies and gentlemen, that word takes precedence. Hallelujah. So the word of God, God's word has no respect for experience. Everything that God has said you can do, you can do. Everything that God has said you can have, you can have. Amen. But one when God sends his word, the overwhelming characteristic of his word is to do you good. Amen. Because Jeremiah 29, 11 says that God's plans for you and I are plans for good. God's plans for you and I are plans for good. So God sends his word on assignment, and he has said that his word shall not return to him void. Isaiah 55, 11. I think we should read that, and maybe we are familiar with it, but I think uh it's important to read it again so that it will sink in our hearts. Again, like I say, um, one word from God is enough. Amen. One word from God is enough. So let's read Isaiah 55 and verse 11. Let's uh let's become more into it. Let's see again what the word says. The Bible says that so shall my word be that goes out of my mouth, it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. So whenever God speaks, whether it is with us here as a church or it is in a song that ministers to you, every time God speaks to you, it is because he's trying to get a message across to you. It is because there is a purpose that he's trying to get to you. Amen. And again, the overwhelming purpose of God's word to you is your well-being. Amen. But how shall this be? How shall this be? Let's see an example of God's word that has been sent on assignment. And and I am uh referring to God's word to Sarah. Genesis 18 um from 12 to 14. Genesis 18 from 12 to 14. So Sarah laughed at laughed to herself, saying, After I am worn out and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure? This was uh a wife talking to her husband. I just thought I may point that out.

Glory to God. I am a lord in my house. So Sarah. Glory to God. It's good to have the mic. Um so Sarah laughed to herself, saying, After I am worn out and my Lord is old, shall I have pleasure?

Let's move forward. The Lord said to Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh and say, Shall I indeed bear a child now that I am old? Verse 14. This is listen to what God is saying. Is anything too hard for the Lord? I had a I had an answer. Is anything too hard for the Lord? Glory to God. Father, we believe you. At the point at the appointed time, I will return to you. About this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son. Hallelujah. God promised Sarah a son. And in Hebrews 11, verse 11, we see a testimony of that son. In Hebrews 11, verse 11, we see a testimony of that son. The Bible says, By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful, who had promised. So she looked at the promise from God, and then she looked at the person that was promising, and then she looked at the promise again. The promise didn't seem to be achievable. It didn't seem in her mind, it was I'm too old for this. But then she looked at the person that was promising, and she said that the person who is promising is faithful. And because the person who is promising is faithful, I know I will receive this child. Amen. And ladies and gentlemen, Sarah received the child. Glory to God. I don't know what situation is facing you or you're facing it. I don't know what is standing before you. But if you focus your eyes on the one who has promised, you will receive strength to see that promise come to pass. In the name of Jesus. How shall this be? Luke 1 34 and 35. Luke 1, 34 and 35. And Mary said to the angel, How will this be? Since I am a virgin, and the angel answered her, Excuse me, the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the child to be born shall be called holy, the Son of God. How shall this be? Mary had that question. And maybe it is a question in somebody's mind right now. How shall my situation change? And, ladies and gentlemen, the Lord is saying to us that the Holy Spirit shall come upon you. The Bible said in Ezekiel 2 and 2 that, and the Spirit entered into me and set me upon my feet. The very thing that God had told me to do, when he spoke, the spirit entered into me and caused me to. Stand on my feet. The spirit entered into me. When Mary received the promise from God, the promise as was spoken by the angel, the spirit of God overshadowed her, and she brought forth a child, and his name is Jesus. Amen. And Jesus went on to redeem you and I. Hallelujah. The Bible says that it is not by power. Whatever God is calling us to do, it is not by power, it is not by might, but by my spirit, says the Lord. One of the things that the Lord enabled me to understand here, again, this is what God showed me, is that you need power, you need might to do many of the things that God is um commissioning you to do. But the power that you need is not your own. The power that you need is a spirit power. It is a Holy Spirit power. And so when you believe that God has commissioned you to do something and you believe God's word concerning you, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit enters into you, giving you the power, giving you the might, giving you the wisdom, giving you uh the resources to be able to do what God has called you to do. How shall this be? The Holy Ghost. How shall this be? The Holy Ghost. Now, ladies and gentlemen, the Bible says in Isaiah 55 and verse 11, we saw that that no word from God returns to him void without accomplishing what God said. But we know from scripture, and maybe you have seen in your own life, that there are certain things that God has spoken concerning you that have not yet come to fruition. And we see in scripture, scripture is laden with examples where God spoke, God said something, but still some people did not um uh receive the promises of God, and it seemed as if what God said um returned to him void. One, two, two things I want to make make clear really quick. One of the things that God helped me to understand, and and I pray, Father, that I communicate this clear. One of the things that God helped me to understand that the reason why there is no word from God that returns to him void is number one, every word has been fulfilled in Jesus. Every word has been fulfilled in Jesus. Jesus is the perfect example of obedience. Right? So so that scripture is forever settled. But then it comes now to you and I where we need to flow with God. We need to receive the promises of God. Um Hebrews um is it four verse two? Somebody help me, Bible scholars. Um the God spoke to us and to them, and the word did not profit them. Hebrews 4 2. For the good news came to us, just us to them, but this the message they had did not benefit them because they were not united by faith with those who listened to it. Um another version says that the ones who listened to it did not mix it with faith, they did not appropriate the word. The word that works for you is the word that you receive. If I'm to give you a gift, if I'm to um give you whether it's money or anything, a gift, you have to receive it from me in order for you to be able to use it. Amen. And so the word from God, number one, it will never return to him void because it has already been uh uh accomplished in Jesus. But the reason why some some some people may not experience the promises of God is because there is no mixing with faith. What God says people do not believe. Amen. Every time that this can the the every time that we ask ourselves how shall this be, the proper answer is the Holy Ghost. But what what the Holy Ghost works with your belief, the Holy Ghost works with um you receiving the word and the promises of God. Amen. So I want us to take two minutes. Stand up, everybody. Um, we're going to take a moment and we are going to effectually appropriate God's promises for us. And how are we doing that? We are going to engage the Holy Spirit on the inside of us. We are going to pray out in the Holy Ghost. We are going to um uh build ourselves up, we're going to bring our faith meter up, we are going to bring our belief meter up uh by praying in the Holy Ghost. Amen. Can we do that? Can we do that, Father? In the name of Jesus, we just appropriate um the word that you have spoken to us, everything that you have spoken concerning us. Lord Negushta la bedandehazia. We appropriate your word, we believe it, we receive it. So shall it be under us. Oh, blessed is she that believed it, but for there will be a performance of the things that were spoken to her by God. We add our faith to your word this evening, and we declare with our mouth nothing shall be impossible in the name of the Lord. What you have declared, what you have said concerning us will come to pass. You will do what you have said in the name of Jesus. We take it by faith tonight, we receive it by faith tonight. Oh, we appropriate it on our lives in the name of the Lord. It works for us, it works for us. Oh, thank you, Father. In Jesus' name we are praying. Say this Allah say in the name of Jesus. I declare that what God has said concerning me, I believe it. I take it, I receive it in the name of Jesus. Nothing is impossible with God, and I believe what concerns me is not impossible with God, my marriage, my children, my job, everything that concerns me is not impossible with God. I declare it's my season of seeing the word of God come to life. I declare, in my life, the word will become flesh. In the name of Jesus, every word that God spoke over my life at the beginning of the year will not return empty, it will do what God has said in the name of Jesus. I believe I receive in Jesus' name. Can somebody give God a big shout of hallelujah? Oh, what a word. Can you say God bless you, sir? So, Pastor, that was a good word, right?
