📖 Faithful Friday — Don't Grow Weary

Have you ever felt like you're trying to follow Jesus faithfully... but you're just tired?

You keep praying.

You keep forgiving.

You keep choosing obedience.

You keep trusting God.

And sometimes you wonder...

Is any of this making a difference?

Paul writes these encouraging words:

"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary."* *(Galatians 6:9)

In Galatians, "doing good" isn't simply about performing good deeds.

It's about continuing to live the kind of life that honors God.

Every act of obedience...

Every choice to forgive...

Every step of faith...

Every moment you choose God's way over your own...

is another seed sown to the Spirit.

🌱 Today's Truth

Faithfulness is continuing to sow what honors God, even when the harvest hasn't appeared yet.

You may not see the results today.

You may not recognize all the ways God is working.

But every Spirit-led choice matters.

God never asks us to produce the harvest.

He simply calls us to keep sowing faithfully.

🙏 Today's Prayer

Lord, thank You for giving me strength to keep following You. When I grow weary, remind me that You are still at work, even when I cannot see the harvest. Help me not to lose heart, but to keep sowing into the things that honor You. Give me faith to trust that every act of obedience matters because You are the One who brings the growth. Keep shaping me into the person You want me to become. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Hello, friends. Would you join with me as we spend five more minutes with God? Today is a faithful Friday. Thank you for joining with me today. Thank you for watching faithfully each day. Today is a day where we encourage ourselves to keep trusting God and to faithfully follow Him one step at a time. And God reminds us of this in His Word as well. Today I'd love for you to turn with me to Galatians chapter six. Galatians chapter six is where we're going to go for just a few moments today. If you have a Bible nearby, look that up with me. Have you ever felt like you're trying to follow Jesus faithfully, but you're just tired? You're weary? You keep praying? You keep forgiving? You keep resisting temptation? You keep showing kindness even when it's difficult. You keep opening God's word. You keep trying to honor Him in your home and at your workplace and in the everyday moments of life. And sometimes you wonder, is any of this making a difference? Paul knew that believers were going to have days like that. So before we read today's verse, I want you to listen to what he says in the verse prior. Galatians chapter 6, verse 8, we read these words for the one who sows to his own flesh will reap from the flesh corruption. But the one who sows to the spirit will from the spirit reap eternal life. I love Paul's word pictures. And Paul gives a picture here of a farmer sowing seed. Every day we're planting something. We can sow to our sinful nature, or we can sow to the spirit, as Paul says in Galatians. Every choice matters, every act of obedience matters, every quiet moment of faithfulness matters. And then Paul says this in the very next verse in Galatians chapter 6, verse 9. He says this, let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. Don't miss those first words there. And Paul says, do not lose heart. Let us not lose heart. Maybe you've been there before, maybe you're there today. But I also want us to notice what Paul means by doing good. Let us not stop doing good. He's not simply talking about random acts of kindness. Throughout these chapters in Galatians, Paul has been describing what it looks like to walk by the Spirit. He's talked about bearing one another's burdens, restoring people gently, living a life that honors Christ. In other words, Paul is saying, don't grow weary of living the kind of life that pleases God. Don't grow weary of doing the things that God desires you to do. Don't grow tired of becoming the person that the Holy Spirit is shaping you to be. Because spiritual growth often happens much more slowly than we would like. A farmer doesn't plant seed today and expect a harvest tomorrow. He faithfully keeps sowing. He trusts that in time the harvest will come. Well, the same's true about our walk with Christ. Some days you're not going to see immediate results. You may not see your prayers answered as quickly as you'd hoped. You may not see the change in someone's life that you've been praying for. You may not even recognize all the ways that God is changing you and helping you grow. But every time you choose obedience, every time you choose forgiveness, every time that you choose faith over fear, you are sowing to the spirit, not the flesh, but to the spirit. And God promises that your labor is not wasted. Faithfulness is continuing to sow what honors God even when the harvest has not appeared yet. Faithfulness continues to sow what honors God even when you don't see the harvest yet. Paul isn't calling us to produce the harvest. Only God can do that. He's calling us to keep sowing, to keep walking, to keep trusting, to do the next right thing. First Corinthians chapter 15, verse 58, we read these words. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. Friends, God sees every unseen act of faithfulness, every quiet prayer, every difficult act of obedience, every choice to honor Him when no one else is even watching. None of that is wasted. Friends, I've put a prayer in the description today. And if those words represent your heart, express your heart, I hope that you will share those, that you'll pray those words. And if you need to find your own words today, spend a time honestly talking to God today. Today, don't measure your faithfulness by how much fruit you can see. Measure it by whether you're still walking with Jesus. Keep sowing, keep trusting, keep following Him. The harvest belongs to God.
