It has been five years since Katie killed her sister and disappeared with her infant nephew Hunter. Now, a new family is about to fall prey to nightmare terrors. A mysterious accident across the street leads to teenage Alex and her family becoming temporary guardians of Robbie, a very creepy little boy. Cameras installed throughout the home capture the sinister events that unfold after Robbie's arrival.

Hey, what's up, everybody? How's it going? How have you been? And how was your weekend? Have you managed to watch anything scary lately? And if so, what was it? As for me, I haven't done much of anything. I actually attended Nightmare Weekend in Richmond, Virginia yesterday. I met Christina Lease, aka Kyle from Charles Play 2. She's super sweet, great personality. I also met Alex Vincent, aka Andy Barkley from Charles Play 1 and 2. He made an appearance in Cults of Chucky, like a brief cameo. And he's actually also in the TV series. Another one, great personality. He's a great guy, super nice. Both of them actually comp complimented the shirt that I was wearing. I was wearing my Chucky shirt, the one that he's smoking. It's actually posted on my page if you want to go check out what it looks like. Last but not least, I also met Alyssa Sutherland, aka Ellie from Evil Dead Rise. She's another one that's super sweet. Needless to say, I got their autographs. The convention itself was a great experience. Lots of cool merchandise, a lot of vendors, a lot of actors and actresses were there. It wasn't as crowded as expected, but regardless, it was still a um a great fun experience. Moving on from that, I have a few updates for you. This week in horror features, Evil Dead Burn has wrapped up filming. Two years ago, fans eagerly awaited Lee Cronin's chapter in the universe, and it turned out to be one of the best in the series. So now we get to eagerly wait until the next chapter premieres, and that is set to release next summer. But meanwhile, you actually can head over to their Instagram, and there's um a brief uh, I guess, teaser shown, and the caption says filming has wrapped. Here's also a reminder that we are now one week away from the release of It. Welcome to Dairy. It will be released on October 26th on HBO Max, and it was said by the writer and director that Pennywise actually will not appear until later in the season. So let's uh let's see how that works out. But um, that's a that's it for your week in horror. Moving on, welcome back to Chills Thrills and a podcast. This is our horror community podcast where we review, analyze, and break down all things horror. And if you're new here, hi, hello. This week we are covering or we're continuing our discussion on the paranormal activity franchise with the fourth entry. My first impression was that this one was a slow burn of nothing. Yes, all of them are basically slow burns and you know amps it up as the movie progresses, but this one is very boring and it's the least favorite of the series to a lot of people, including myself. This one doesn't really up the stakes until about 45 minutes in. This one also has a few predictable reveals, but before we get into it, let's talk behind the scenes. The fourth paranormal activity film was first hinted at by Paramount distribution head Don Harris in an interview with The Rap magazine published on October 23, 2011, which was two days after the release of the third Paranormal Activity, and as of that day, the franchise had grossed over $400 million. Paramount Pictures announced on January 2nd, 2012, that Paranormal Activity 4 was in the works. Information on the characters had been scarce, but stated that Brady Allen was set to play a character named Robbie. Cater Featherston would be reprising her role as Katie, who was still possessed from the ending of the first two films. The other cast and characters that appeared in the film were kept under rocks, under wraps. Henry Jose and Ariel Schuman had returned to direct the film, and their experience in producing documentaries continued to help them with directing another found footage film. Contemporary technologies such as the Xbox Connect camera and Skype were incorporated to make the film realistic to audiences, using them and to keep the found footage style innovative. On June 23, 2012, it was confirmed that the fourth film had begun filming. A trailer debuted on August 3rd in front of the Total Recall viewing. The first theatrical trailer was released for the film on August 1st, 2012. The trailer showed that the film is a sequel to Paranormal Activity 2, following the story of a possessed Katie and Hunter after their disappearance at the end of the second film. This movie also featured a new scare technique of footage being shown from a laptop and a video chat. The directors felt that it would ravel the fan cam from the previous movies because of that being the being familiar technology was used that it was built for a horror movie. The film also featured an Xbox Connect, a MacBook Pro, smartphones, and a Canon XA10 camera. The end credits of the film include a dedication to actor Steven Dunham who played Alex's father, Doug. Dunham died shortly after filming was completed, suffering a heart attack on September 14th, 2012, which was also his 48th birthday. Since its January 2012 announcement, most of the information of the plot, cast, and shooting location was unknown before its release. With Paranormal Activity 4, Paramount continued the marketing method of holding demand advanced screenings and airing commercials with footage of audience reactions. On September 24th, 2012, a 30-second teaser trailer was released exclusively on Digital Spies website. As part of the promotional campaign for Paranormal Activity 4, the studio created a group of online accounts, including a YouTube account under the name Jacob, and a series of posted videos set a year after the release of the events of the film. Alex's friend Sarah, who appears in the film itself, is chased by Toby while her father researches VHS tapes that include previously unreleased footage from the second film. Now, before we proceed, I have to issue you your spoiler warning. If you have not seen this film, this is where you pause this episode and go check that out first and then come back to join us for the discussion. Paranormal Activity 4 heavily relies on having seen the first two movies. So if you've already seen them, it's time to unpack and let's get into it. Paranormal Activity 4 opens up with the text that reads Carlsbad, California, September 2006. So we immediately know or we should know that this video takes place between the events of Paranormal Activity 2 and Paranormal Activity 1. If you remember, Paranormal Activity 2 is a prequelslash parallel movie. The events of the second movie started towards the beginning of August and ran until the end of August. So in a matter of just a little under a month, it was a slow burn that turned into utter chaos. Towards the end of August, Daniel transferred the possession over from Christy to Katie by burning the picture. The picture Mika found in the attic is the picture that we saw Dennis taking paranormal activity three. Now follow me for a second while I tie everything together. During the conclusion of Paranormal Activity 2, Christy was attacked on August 25th, 2006. The next day, August 26, 2006, the picture was burned and transferred to Katie. Katie came to visit after everything happened, and there was a text that said three weeks three weeks later, which puts us around September 15th or September 16th. So the footage we're seeing now is from that date as well. This is also when she told Christy that things were happening at her house. So now it makes it now it all makes better sense because by then it had already been transferred, because the first recorded date was September 18th, which was only a few days after this footage was seen. I wrote down every single date just uh from what we've seen so far, at least from the first three films, just so I could see how the puzzle pieces fit together as a timeline. Katie Hunter, Abby the Dog, and Christy are sitting on the back patio and a text appears, Carlsbad, California, September 2006. Christy tells Hunter that his aunt Katie brought him a present. So Katie asks Hunter if he's gonna open it or does he want her to? As she opens the present, she tells him that it's from her that it is from his favorite aunt, and Christy adds that she's the best aunt. Katie agrees, responding that that's true. She's not gonna lie. She opens the box to reveal a necklace. Shortly after, we see Katie leaving, and this leads to the start, or should I say the beginning of Paranormal Activity 1. A text appears on October 9th, 2006, Hunter Ray was abducted. This is the same day that Katie snapped Daniel's neck and the unseen force through Katie, uh through Christy into the wall, in case you forget. We get a flashback to what I just mentioned, followed by a text that says, Katie and Hunter's whereabouts remain unknown. In the next scene, a soccer game is in progress and we see a woman cheering on her son. We see a text that reads Henderson, Nevada, November 1st, 2011. The woman continues cheering on her son Wyatt and telling the person recording to cheer her brother on. The girl tells Wyatt to wave at the camera as and as the game progresses in the background, we see another kid standing there watching the game. So as the camera focuses more on the game, when it returns back to that area, the kid is gone. The game comes to a close. We are now formally introduced to Wyatt, played by Aiden Lovecamp. As he tells his as he tells his name, the girl asks, How old is he? And he answers that he's six. She asks who's his favorite sister in the world, but before he can answer, he's more curious as to where his dad is. The woman who was cheering him on answers that he's on his way. This is Holly played by Alexandra Lee. She continues by adding that he'll be there any second, but he's disappointed he missed the soccer game and he's missing half of lunch. Shortly after, we see Wyatt just spinning around having fun as his dad arrives, and this is Doug played by Stephen Dunham. Holly and Doug are well, I'm not gonna say are, but they were married in real life. They are real husband and wife, and it was up until he unfortunately passed away, like I mentioned earlier. Um he passed away about a month before this movie was released, which is why they included a dedication to him in the um end credits. Wyatt runs to greet him and Doug asks if they won. Wyatt responds, no. So Doug asks if he scored, and again, Wyatt responds with a swift no. Doug in full support tells him that it's alright and that it'll be okay. Wyatt does tell him that they got one point. Doug has a gift for him, and Alex, his sister, is played by Catherine Newton. She tells him that it's okay, it was still a great game. She tells Doug that she got it all on tape so he can watch it later. As Doug approaches Holly, Alex senses tension and decides to distract Wyatt by telling him to come to her because she wants to show him something really cool. She hands him the camera so he can hold it while she shows him what it is. So after she makes she makes sure that he got it, she shows him how to do it, do a cartwheel. While she's teaching him, he tries to do one but lands on his head. Now in the car, Holly is teaching him the tongue twister. How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood cut wood chuck damn I can't even say it, how much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood? Goodness damn. He in turn says, How much stuff could you eat and stuff? And Holly laughs and tells him that that's not even close, so she repeats it. I'm not even gonna track, it's already fucked it up. He finally understands the the tongue twist of repeating how much wood could chuck a wood chuck wood, and they just laugh at him. While driving, Alex spots the kid from earlier walking along the road, so she questions if he walked all the way from the park, so I'm assuming that it must not be close. In the next scene, Alex and Wyatt are playing golf, not really golf, but like putting a golf ball into a coffee cup. But Holly tells them that they have to go get ready because they gotta go. In the midst of that, the doorbell rings and in walks Ben, played by Matt Shivley. He is either a friend of Alex or her boyfriend. Um it doesn't it it's really not made clear. I don't know, but you know, it doesn't matter. Um, like I said, this is my least favorite in the franchise, so it's been a while since I've seen this, and so this one doesn't have really much rewatchability, and it's been a couple years since I've even seen it. As Ben walks in, Doug greets him and then asks if he just let himself into his house, but Ben answers that the hideaway key isn't very hidden. He greets Wyatt as, What's up, Little Dog? Hyatt Harley tells Wyatt that he has to come upstairs and get dressed and greets Ben in the process. Ben whispers to Alex when it's her parents leaving, but she doesn't know but soon. He quotes, I think it's Black At Peace, um, let's get this started or let's get it started. I think it's their song. I don't know. Alex clarifies that it's not a party, it's just like a kickback. What the fuck is a kickback like? Like I guess it's the same as a get together. I don't know. Ben is like, yeah, no, it's a party. In the next scene, we see Alex and a friend playing Xbox, and Ben is recording, tells them that they're doing a great job, but Alex tells him to get out of the way. Shortly later, the kickback has ended, and we see Alex and Ben are cleaning up, and Ben starts joking that Alec has mother like behavior, followed by her saying that she's taking a break, so she sits on the couch across from him, and he asks her if she wants to come sit closer. He hates yelling, so Alex mocks him and repeats that he hates yelling. She decides to join him and sits with him. Ben asks if that's much better. It's much more comfortable, this couch, just in general. He proceeds to put his hand on her leg and she looks like get that shit off of my leg. She doesn't really say it, but her facial expression does. Ben asks if it's too much, but she answers no. She further adds by asking him what he wants to do, and he answers that he doesn't know, but since it's hot inside, he suggests that they go outside and she can show him around and give him a little tour. Alex questions if he wants to go outside, so of course he responds yes. He has hot blood and he needs to go catch some air. She laughs and they head outside. As she's giving him the tour, she shows him the playhouse, otherwise known as her castle, because that's where she reigns. Ben asks if she has a castle and if her crown is up there, and she nods yes. He tells her that that's awesome, and they should go get her crown. Alex tells him that she has to be rescued in it, asking if he can come save her, and he laughs, asking what? Followed by, yeah. They climb up the ladder and look around, and Ben comments that it's a lot dirtier than he was expecting, and as he pans around, he is startled by a kid that's just standing there in the dark. That in itself is creepy. Like, was he just standing there hoping and waiting that someone would come out? Like he's just standing in the dark, motionless, not doing anything. This is the same kid that was walking from the baseball game and that they saw walking along the side of the road. Ben comments that, dude, Alex, there's a boy in your castle. Alex recognizes that it's the kid from across the street. Ben questions him, asking what is he doing there. Alex asks if he's okay, so he nods yes. Alex tells him that she's gonna take him home, and Ben whispers what the fuck. As the boy starts walking, he has continuous eyes on Ben, like he keeps glancing over at him, like just staring at him as he takes each step. Approaching his driveway, Alex tells Ben that she's gonna take him and for him to stay there. Outside of the kid's gate, continuing to walk, she asks the kid's name and he answers Robbie. Robbie is played by Brady Allen. Ben whispers to himself, thanks for blocking his plans. He doesn't say that exactly, um, it's watered down, um, but he says something else, and it's this may be explicit content, but some words that I'm just not gonna repeat because I don't feel comfortable even saying certain words. The next day we see Alex playing a guitar, singing a song. His name is Robbie, and he lives across the street, and he comes into her treehouse at 10 at night. Ben asks that these are good facts, followed by asking what did Robbie's mother say, and Alex answers that his mother is single and apparently she's really busy. She works a lot, so she's not really home, so she guesses that he's kind of lonely. She further explains that at her old house he used to do the same thing and go play in the neighbor's playhouse. He wasn't playing though, he was just standing in the dark at 10 PM. Ben questions in the middle of the night and she answers yeah because he thought that was normal. So playing in random tree houses in the middle of the night is normal. That's not normal. I I think the proper term called it's is called trespassing. In the next scene, we see Alex on video chat with Ben, and instantly he's being a typical teen asking to see beyond her shirt, and of course she declines. So he requests a quick boob shot. Alec dismisses it, telling him that she's gonna go, that the chat is done. She's gonna go downstairs and grab a snack. Ben asks for her to take him with her, and she responds, calling him needy, but to just be quiet because everybody asleep. And as she walks on to the hallway, Ben questions why is it so dark? Like she didn't just tell him everybody was asleep. Ben on joke time says, So if he was to like yell, yeah, would he be waking them up? And she just stops and stares at the screen. They get on some random, random convo about vacations, and Ben mentions that he has to go to Mexico and it blows, but Alex responds that Mexico sounds really fun, but not to Ben because he literally has to sleep in his grandpa's bed with his grandpa, and he's a massive farter, and it's like Ari, and he can feel them brush up against his leg. That's low-key funny. Imagine going to going to sleep, and someone just lets it rip, and you feel it brush up against your leg, and then the smell hits you. It's like a double punch. I don't even know what which would be worse, to be honest. As they continue talking, police sirens are heard in the distance, and it catches Alex's attention. So she goes outside to see and see that they are in front of Robbie's house. She shows Ben, followed by calling for Holly. Holly comes down asking what's going on, and Alex tells Ben that she's gotta go, and as he's still talking, she closes the laptop. In the next scene, Alex tells Ben to come look, and we see Robbie is walking up the driveway. Alex jokingly tells Ben that she loves the kid and points out the socks with the sandals is her favorite. Not even just the sandals with the socks. I'm looking at his little ass pants that he's wearing. It's like they're high waters, they're definitely too small. Ben and Alex sneak out into the hallway to spy. Holly opens the door and greets Robbie, inviting him inside. Holly tells Wyatt to come say hi. Robbie reaches out to shake his hand, and Wyatt looks confused, but ultimately does shake his hand and they go off to go play. Ben jokes that he loves Robbie too. He's amazing and points out that he shook Wyatt's hand. As Holly comes upstairs, Alec asks what happened with Robbie's mom, and she answers that it's not good. She's gonna be in the hospital for like two or three days. Alex questions, asking her so he's just gonna stay with them, and Holly answers, yeah. She doesn't know what else to do, he doesn't have anywhere to go. So Alex asks if he has any relatives, so she responds, telling Alex that he doesn't have anybody. But Alex asks the same thing I ask. She asks Holly if she even knows his mom. It's really nice and all, but they don't even know them. That's what I was wondering. Because, like, did she talk to his mom? Did she know does she know anything about Robbie's mom or her condition? Did Robbie's mom ask Holly if she could stay there, if he could stay there? Secondly, wouldn't TPS be involved? You can't just send your kid to stay with a random stranger. There's like background checks involved, etc. At least that's what I would think. In Wyatt's room, Robbie unpacks his bag, starting with his pillow and then his stuffed animal named Shipshuba. That's a weird name. Alex picks it up to look at it, but Robbie tells her to be careful because it's a hundred years old. He unpacks his toothbrush and a special fork. Alex tells Robbie that they have forks there as she looks at it and he tells her again to be careful because it's an expensive fork. So she wants to know what it does that makes it so special, and he answers that it tells the future. Leaving the boys to chill, she tells them that she'll be in her room. In the hallway, Holly asks Alex how Robbie's doing. So Alex answers that she thinks he's fine, but Holly meant are they getting along? Alex admits that he's weird, and Holly agrees. After what happened to his mom last night, he wouldn't be normal anyway. Later on, Alex and Ben are on video chat and must be talking about their parents fighting. You can tell there's some sort of tension between Doug and Holly based on their interaction at Wyatt's picnic and after his game. There was no greeting each other, no nothing, and Holly looked pissed, but he also got there late, so that might have been the reason that Holly was pissed. Ben tells Alex that if it helps at all, his parents fight constantly, like all the time. Alex sheds a little more light, telling him that it's different. Her parents don't fight, they just act like everything is okay. Ben asks how bad is it? Does she think they're going to get a divorce? But she doesn't think so, but she also doesn't know. She thinks that they're going to try and hold it together for Wyatt. Alex gets distracted by a noise in the background. Ben continues by telling her that they're probably just going through a phase. His parents go through phases all the time where they'll like each other for three months and then they'll hate each other. Alex responds that they don't even look at each other. She can't remember the last time they even kissed. She quickly is distracted again when she hears the alarm alert. They have the security system that tells you like which door and which window is open, by the way. She hears the alert that the back door is open, and as Ben tells her that he's so he's sure that it's just a phase, but she interrupts him, letting him know that she'll be right back. After a moment, in her doorway in the background, one of the boys runs past it, and it's probably honestly it's probably Robbie's weird ass. Ben calls out for Alex and asks what she's doing, but she's not there to respond. But suddenly, in a cheap jump scare, she jumps on the bed and it scares Ben. Alex comments that Robbie strike odd Robbie strikes again. She tells him that Robbie was just standing down in the kitchen right at the open door, staring at it. He's a weirdo, adding that it's midnight. What was he doing in the kitchen with the door open anyway? Followed by he's such a creepy kid. We cut to the next day, Ben is showing Alex something, but before he does, he tells her that he just wants her to know that it's something his computer does, so don't freak out because he didn't do it on purpose. She questions what he means, don't freak out. This guy has a folder labeled Alex Chat, and she even points it out. Ben tells her that he's about to blow her fucking mind. This guy recorded their video chats and he claims that his computer automatically records them. She tells him that he can't do that, it is a total invasion of privacy. He defends that he didn't do it, and then she discovers he recorded her sleeping. I don't know, Ben, and that's that's giving stalker vibes at the least. He asks if she thinks he just sits there and stare at it, and she quickly answers, yeah. But he tells her that she's going to be thanking him that he recorded it. He shows her a video where Robbie comes into her room while she's sleeping and gets in bed with her and lays next to her and puts his hand on her shoulder. Ben says to Alex, tell him that that's not creepy, asking if she's freaked out, and she responds she's very freaked out. Ben throws it in there that he's trying to copper feel. Ben, chill out. Robbie's like six, like six or seven. Nobody's thinking that but you. Alex is basically creeped out. Ben asks that he didn't want to tell her because he knew it would freak her out, but something else happened last night, so she asks what happened. Ben answers that she farts in her sleep and she gets all embarrassed. Man, girl, you don't let that shit rip. Who gives a fuck? It's a fart. Everyone farts. Let that shit rip. Ben and Alex go to the kitchen and see Holly, who questions the camera and jokes that she's a Kardashian. Damn. For a minute, I was gonna say that's I mean, that show's been around for a while, but I completely forgot this movie came out in 2012, so it makes total sense. But in 2025, I believe the Kardashians are actually still on TV. Ben tells Holly that she looks better than the Kardashians. Holly tells them that he's six years old and that that would freak anybody out. Seeing their mom taken away in the ambulance, Alex tells her that she thinks it was really creepy that he came in her bed. Holly doesn't acknowledge it, but tells her that Robbie's gonna be there a few more days. Alex in disbelief, Holly tells her that he'll be there two, maybe three days, but she's gotta do it. He doesn't have anybody. I didn't realize it until like now. But where the fuck is Doug? We we haven't seen him in days. Matter of fact, we haven't seen him since the soccer game, I think. Alex goes to the treehouse and when she climbs up the ladder, Wyatt stops her, telling her no grown-ups allowed. She tells him that she's not a grown-up, so she can come in. Wyatt asks if she wants to meet his friend and points to an empty corner. So Alex plays along, saying that she sees him and who is he? Robbie tells her that she cannot see him, but Alex says that he's right there. Robbie responds that he knows that she's just pretending. Holly calls them down for lunch, so they head down inside, but as Alex is going down the slide off to the side in the sandbox, we see the symbol from the last movie drawn in the sand. It's the triangle with the circle in the middle. In the next scene, we finally see Doug as he's walking up the stairs. Ben greets him saying, What's up, Mr. Nelson? So Doug answers him too with the camera. Now downstairs, Ben checks on the boys with Wyatt telling him that he interrupted them playing Xbox Connect, which was the the Connect itself was popular in like 2010, uh yeah, 2010, and lasted until about 2017 when they finally shut it down. Ben asks Robbie why he isn't playing, and he answers that he was playing with his friend. Ben responds that he's heard about this guy, his little imaginary friend, and it sucks he walked away. He shifts his attention to a creepy-looking avatar and questions what is that what Toby looks like? How does he know that it's named Toby? Um, I haven't heard Toby's name mentioned yet. Maybe it was off-screen, I don't know. Secondly, now since Toby has been mentioned, we all know that this isn't gonna end well, not at all. Robbie answers sometimes. Suddenly, Ben says, Oh, look, he's back because the avatar starts moving, and he questions how he's doing that. Alex interrupts Ben asking what he's doing because she's not gonna do his homework for free, so he can play Xbox with her little brother. Ben tells her that he wasn't, he was just showing them something cool. So he asks the boys if they want to see something really cool that they can do with the Kinect. So of course they do. Ben turns off everything so it's pitch dark, and Robbie complains that it's too dark, but Ben responds, just trust him, because all of the lights have to be off. He switches the camera to night vision, which reveals the tracking dots from the Kinect. Wyatt excitedly tells Ben that he looks like an alien because of all the green. Ben explains that the Kinect projects these little tracking dots, and that's how it picks up body movement, but you can only see it through infrared. Ben asks if it's badass, and Robbie tells him to watch his language. Ben continues asking who wants to have a space dance party. Ben, Alex, and Wyatt just rock out, and then there's Robbie. Just sitting there. We cut to Alex and Ben watching it on the computer. Alex shows Ben how crazy Wyatt was, but asks what's Robbie doing, and Ben answers being a weirdo as usual. Alex notices something weird. She asks Ben if he sees something, but Ben doesn't know what she's talking about. She points to movement next to Robbie and it looks like he was just looking at it. He thinks it might be broken, but it's also very weird. We cut to the next scene and we get our first text, November 6, 2011, night one at 3 02 a.m. Alex is walking in the hallway because she heard a noise, so she goes to check to see if her parents are asleep and they are. She checks Wyatt's room and he's asleep, but Robbie is not. So she goes to look for him and she finds him standing in the dark, but he's whispering indistinctly, so it can't be made out. Alex asks him if he's okay. He doesn't answer, but he continues whispering. She approaches him slowly and she asks Robbie to look at her. He turns to look towards her, and Alex asks how come he's not in bed and if he's scared or if he had a nightmare. He whispers to her that he couldn't sleep. She questions who he was talking to, and he swiftly answers nobody. Suddenly, an unseen force runs past and startles her. She asks what that was, but Robbie just runs off, so she yells, asking what that was as she hears heavy footsteps up above her. The next morning, Alex shows Ben the footage, and when he sees the unseen force and in shock, he asks what the fuck that was. She doesn't have an answer. He continues to ask what that was. Alex tells him that's what she's been trying to tell him. They continue to dissect the footage to find an answer. Doug walks in to tell Alex that he and Holly are heading out to the mall to return an item. But before he goes, she shows him the footage and he asks the same thing. He also wants to know what that was. They ask him if he knows what it was, but instead he answers that it's awesome. They question awesome and Doug thinks that they're consistently impressive with the videos. Alex argues that it's not awesome, it's completely creepy. So obviously he's not believing them because he thinks that that's them messing around with the camera. As he's walking out, he makes the point that he can't even work his cell phone and that here they are doing amazing things with the computer. Ben questions Alex, asking, Does he think that that's fake? Ben adds, ever since Robbie got there, crazy shit's been happening. Alex agrees. Ben vocalizes impending suspense music. Later that night, Alex says goodnight to the boys and questions if Robbie is gonna stay in bed. She goes in her room to video chat with Ben, and she's talking about some girl posting like many annoying Facebook statuses, so Ben questions what she put up. She answers that she posted a duck face and he has no idea what that even is, so she demonstrates it for him. As she's explaining that, the security system alerts her that the front door is open. Ben's laptop is static and it's lagging. She's having issues with the connection when suddenly he drags her out of bed and she's pissed, so he repeatedly apologizes. So I'm guessing he either doesn't live far or walking distance at the least, but that don't even matter. Why is he just walking in and why is the door unlocked or like does he have a key? Like, I'm lost. But while this is going on, Robbie is standing in the other doorway. I never noticed that, and I swear I've seen this movie like hundreds of times, and I never noticed it. But like, like I said, it's my least favorite, so you know, I have I've watched it a decent enough times to know have noticed it, and I just didn't. But that's one thing I can say. Watching a movie just because is definitely not the same as when you're watching a movie to take notes to prepare your script. I found myself seeing or noticing details with every episode that I've done so far. Alex asks Ben if he can be the one person that believes her that she thinks that there's something in her house, so he questions asking her if she feels there's a supernatural force in her house that's coming after her, and she answers, yeah. Ben questions what should they do? Get out of the house, get a hotel, go to a hotel, or what? Offering that she can stay with him, she doesn't acknowledge that she changes subjects instead. She asks if he can set up the other computers like he did when he recorded their chats. Ben reminds her that all chats do that because he's not that big of a perv, but she simply replies, whatever. Ben tells her that it's easy, but makes sure that she understands that she'd be spying on her whole family, and if she's being serious, so she tells him that she is serious, she wants to do it, she wants to set up the cameras because she wants to catch whatever activity is happening. So at this point, here's our plot device to set up cameras. Her plot device is her wanting to catch the activity that's happening in her home, and that's pretty much the same plot device as Mika and Dennis. Those three had the same motivation that they wanted to catch the activity. The only movie that had a solid justification for camera use was the second one. The house was broken into, so a surveillance system was installed and set up for use, which, like I said, that justifies it. As Ben sets up Wyatt's computer, Alex questions if the computer is gonna run all the time, and he answers, yeah, and acknowledges Wyatt's computer is amazing, so she responds that he gets the hammy downs. Now in the kitchen, Ben asks what Holly uses hers for, so Alex answers that she uses it for recipes. Last but not least, Ben sets up a hidden camera in the living room. Ben proclaims that all is set up, that they're on the hunt, they need the gear, followed by a high five from Alex. In the next scene, Doug is laying on the couch watching TV and in the background Holly is cleaning the kitchen. Doug turns the TV off and heads upstairs, leaving two bottles of beer on the table when there's two six-year-olds in the house. Good job. I know it's laying there in bed, but kids get curious. We're shown our next text November 8, 2011, night 3, 323 a.m. The cameras do the usual cycle of each room and everybody is asleep, but of course, in the boys' room, Robbie is awake, climbing down the bunk bed ladder, but this time he wakes Wyatt up. The boy's now downstairs, running around, presumably being chased by Toby, jokingly, I guess, because Robbie shouts that he's going that way while laughing, but it's cut short because Holly comes downstairs and she's pissed, telling Robbie to get upstairs and shushing Wyatt, reminding him that his dad is asleep and he's gonna have a fit if he wakes up. It's three o'clock in the morning. Wyatt tells her that they were playing, but Holly isn't having it. In the next scene, Ben comes into Alex's room asking if anything happened, but she can't watch the footage because the computer is locked, so he tells her that her username is her email address and the password is odd Robbie. Alex responds that she thought it was Big Ben, so he jokingly tells her that she doesn't need a password for that and have fives himself. He continues to explain the process, telling her basically she has to export the file, and once it has been exported, it turns into a quick time file where she can bring them up and watch them as it turns into clips. Holly comes in and tells Alex that she's going to be late and has to go, but before leaving, she reminds her that when you know who is in her room, the door stays open. Ben asks, Who's you know who? So Alex responds that he's not allowed to be in her room. We immediately cut to the next scene, the camera cycle through each room and nobody appears to be home at that moment. But then we hear the alarm notification that the front door is open. Alex walks in with her backpacks, announcing that she's home. While pouring a drink in the kitchen, she pauses while she hears stumping, and when the camera switches to the living room, a basketball comes bouncing down the stairs. Alex calls out for Wyatt, but he doesn't answer because he's not home. She then calls out to Robbie and still receives no answer. She continues to call out for Wyatt while walking up the stairs. She goes into her room and lays on the bed, but then noises can be heard in the distance. It catches her attention so she calls out for Holly and receives no response. So she calls out hello repeatedly while hesitating to go out to go check, but when she gets by her door there's a loud bang that startles her. Eventually she works up the courage to go check it out. When she enters the hallway, there's a line of toys leading to Wyatt's room all the way to his closet. She opens it and to her surprise there's nothing there, but suddenly Wyatt's toy train activates behind her. She again calls out for Wyatt and turns the train off. Alex heads downstairs and over in the dining room the chandelier is swaying back and forth. The cat that we've barely seen runs up the steps and runs past her. As soon as the cat ran past me, I would I would have left the house. And so someone came home at least. That wasn't a normal run. That cat saw some shit and was like, fuck this, I'm out. So between that, the chandelier swaying back and forth, the line of toys, not to mention the train turning on, how many clues do you need to like get the fuck out of the house? Because I man, my ass would have been gone. Alex continues to investigate. She stands in the distance looking at the chandelier in the dining room, whispering what the fuck, but suddenly the chandelier from above comes crashing down directly in front of her, causing her to scream. That's what her ass get. For me, it takes one time for shit to get real or for shit to feel weird. And I'm like, Nope, I ain't doing this. I'm not doing this shit at all. I told you, I don't play with that shit. When I'm walking around my school building in the morning, I don't walk past classrooms, offices, closets, bathrooms, anything that's dark, I won't walk past it. I'll walk in the middle of the hallway or along the wall. So if anything does jump out from the dark to even try to grab me, do whatever, I have enough space to turn into a fucking track star because I'm running. And if you can catch me, then good job. If you want to kill me, possess me, or whatever you're trying to do to me, you're gonna work for it. Plain simple, and it ain't gonna be easy. Anyway, Addyx looks up and Robbie's just standing there looking over the banister, and when he notices she's looking at him, he runs off. First off, where the fuck did he even come from? Like, was he there the whole time? Like, was he hiding? Why was he in the house alone? Like she called off him, he didn't even answer. Shouldn't he be in school? Like, so many questions, but not enough answers. This little shit runs off and tells her that he doesn't like you watching us. Okay, you know what, Robbie? It was nice of you to come visit, but you gotta get the fuck out. Here's your special fork, here's your pillow, here's your little stuffed animal ship shoe, or whatever the fuck you whatever the fuck his name is, there's the door. Don't let it hit you on the way out. You don't gotta go home, but you can't fucking stay here. Feel free to go sleep in my tree house though. Enjoy yourself. She questions what he just said while chasing after him. She asks him what's going on and if he's been in the house the whole time. She knows he knows what happened. He doesn't offer any response, so she asks who did it. She drags him out of her room and tells him not to come back in her room again. We cut to the next scene. Doug is on the phone telling the person on the other end that it looks like they put it straight into the drywall, and Alex tells him that the one in the dining room was swinging. Doug adds that he has three or four other chandeliers that they installed and it could have killed his daughter. She was standing there and he's not waiting. He wants someone to come out there now. Holly is cleaning up after the glass, so Alex tells her that she doesn't think that it was an accident. Holly questions what she's talking about, so she answers that she just f she just is she just feels weird. But Holly isn't listening, so Alex demands that she listen to her. She feels like Robbie brought something into the house and it's messing with her. She's been hearing noises, etc. Holly responds that she knows it was super scary. She would have lost her mind if she was standing under it. It would it it was just a freak accident. Holly tells her, but then tells Doug that she's worried about the other lights. Alex tries telling Doug that stuff started happening ever since Robbie got there. She explains that she came home and why its train turned on by itself and she heard noises. Doug isn't isn't even listening. He actually instead asks that she puts the camera down away for like five seconds. This brings me to my next point. Parents, listen to your children. Even if you don't believe, if they tell you that they have an imaginary friend, ask questions, hear them out, see what they say. It's 2025 though. Do kids even have imaginary friends anymore? My kids are teens, so I don't know. Maybe the kids traded imaginary friends for iPads, but nonetheless, listen to your kids. We cut to the next scene. We see November 11, 2011, night six at 2 11 a.m. We cycle through the rooms and everyone is asleep, but we hear car doors closing. It eventually wakes Alex up, who goes out to take a look at the window. She grabs her camera and whispers that it's 2 in the morning and there's a bunch of cars at Robbie's house, and she's going to go check it out. As she walks over, she peeks through the gate and sees a bunch of cars in front of the house. She whispers, Who are all these people? So then she opens up the gate, but a woman appears out of nowhere and asks Alex if she can help her, but Alex gaps, telling her that she's sorry, wrong house, and runs home. The next morning we see Holly making Alex's bed and downstairs Wyatt is riding his tricycle around. Where the hell is Robbie and all this? Anyway, as he rounds the kitchen, a chair slides out from under the table, blocking his path, so he just casually backs up and takes a different path, but off screen we hear another chair slide out blocking that path. Holly is upstairs vacuuming, so of course she's unaware back what's going on downstairs in the kitchen. Wyatt walking backwards into the kitchen, but suddenly his tricycle rolls backwards as if it's being written. Wyatt says cool, so I guess he's playing with Toby because as he's going up the stairs, he's laughing. Later that night, Alex is showing Ben the footage telling him that it was two in the morning and there were so many cars across the street and nobody's supposed to be there. Up in Wyatt's room in the dark, Wyatt shows Robbie a model of the solar system and he explains that the sun is a star, not a planet, and Robbie answers no, he didn't know that. Wyatt asks him if he knew that there's only two planets that have rings around them. Robbie, however, he did know that answer. Robbie questions if Wyatt wants to see him, talking about Toby, and tells Wyatt to follow him. But Wyatt asks if he's nice so Robbie answers if you do what he says. That sounds about right because everything was going good in Paranormal Activity 3 until Christy told Toby that she didn't want to talk to him anymore. And once she did that, all hell broke loose. Christy had to save Katie basically by telling Toby she'd do whatever it was that he asked. Toby was fucking Katie up in that crawl space. He dragged her ass twice, like it's on site. Toby got beef with Katie or some shit because even in the first one, he was fucking with her the whole movie. As the boys are in the closet in Wyatt's bedroom, the bedroom door itself starts slowly closing, but before it goes completely dark, a dark figure runs past the door. In the living room, Ben asks Alex, how does she know that that wasn't his mom? And Alex answers because she's young, and Holly had already said that she's young. She further elaborates that she's like young, possibly in her 30s. The conversation is interrupted by a loud bang upstairs. She calls off for Wyatt, who doesn't answer. She tells Ben, Let's go see what they're doing. They enter the dark bedroom asking what they're doing and noticing the room is a mess. Wyatt tells Alex that Robbie is drawing pictures on him so he can see Toby. Alex responds that it's so bad and mom is gonna get so mad. She picks Wyatt up and the whole time Robbie is still drawing pictures on him. Alex in a panic tells Wyatt that they have to clean it all off and asks what are all the weird drawings on his body. Ben asks Robbie who's he gonna see, who's he gonna be able to see, but Robbie answers that he does not like you. Ben responds, What? Who? Who doesn't like me? Robbie quickly tells him, You'll find out. Um, sir, yeah. With that being said, get your little fork and get the fuck out. You gotta go. Before the scene before the scene cuts out, Ben whispers, what the fuck? When the scene returns, we see it's November 12th, 2011, night seven at 3 01 a.m. And as usual, the camera cycle through each room and we see everybody's asleep. But in the boys' room, Wyatt wakes up and goes downstairs to the living room, and as he's walking towards the TV, he whispers that he can't hear, telling him that everyone is asleep, he's sure, and maybe. We cut to the next scene. Alex goes to check on the boys in Wyatt's room, asking him what he's doing, but he gets she gets no response. So she asks if she can talk to him, can he pause the game or just let Robbie play? She asks him why he got up last night and he offers no response. So she asks if he had a nightmare, still no response. But wh Robbie whispers in his ear, don't tell her anything. Alex hears this and tells Robbie that Wyatt can tell her anything, and she makes it clear that she doesn't like when his friend is around. He won't talk to her or tell her things and she doesn't appreciate it. Later on, Alex shows Ben the footage from when the boys were playing in the treehouse and pauses it on the symbol that's written in the sand and asks him what that is. He answers that it's a triangle with a circle inside of it, so she responds, no shit, but then shows the video from when Robbie was drawing on um Wyatt. We see on that on Wyatt's back it's the same symbol. Alex tells Ben that obviously it means something, and Ben responds, yeah, they're shapes. Alex then looks it up on Google and learns that it's a symbol of fertility, often present in sacred rituals whereupon a demon would take possession of a male child. Further explaining, in order for the demon to enter the host, it is believed that three stages had to be completed. Actuation, the host will begin to exhibit signs of preprenatural ability. I had to look that up because I didn't know what it meant. So in theology, the term is often used to distinguish marvels of marvels or deceptive trickery, often attributed to witchcraft and or demons, from purely divine power of genuinely supernatural origin that transcends the laws of nature. Ben responds that yeah, Robbie's been doing that a lot. Affirmation, which is the action or process of affirming something or being affirmed, she goes on to say the host would have to prove its prenatural ability to the demon. Ben questions what was he, meaning Robbie, doing last night? Sacrifice The host will be compelled to spill the blood of an invalid which means free or safe from injury, violation or profane. AKA a virgin. Ben tells Alex that she's fucked and laughs, but Alex claps back that he's fucked too, so he responds that he's not. Like three times four different girls, what's up? He asks, telling her that he understands that she's a little nervous due to this, they can get it out of the way for her. She answers, but no, and he tells her that they can run upstairs real quick, and she tells him to stop. In the next scene, we see where Holly is prepping dinner while cooking with Chef Mary plays on her laptop. While she's distracted answering Wyatt, we see the knife that she was using to cut the vegetables shoot straight up into the air. Holly returns to the laptop only to discover that the knife is gone. She starts looking around, and I for sure thought that the knife was going to drop down like and land in her head, but then I had to remember that's not paranormal activity style. They don't do blood or gore, they do slow builds. Regardless of all that, wouldn't that strike you as weird? Like, wouldn't you be in the least bit concerned? One second you're using a knife, you turn your back briefly, and when you return, it's gone. You didn't hear it fall, so it's not like it fell off the counter, it's literally gone. She even asks herself, what the fuck does she do with the knife? And after a few minutes of being clueless, she grabs another knife and resumes cutting vegetables. We cut to them having dinner when Alex hears a noise, but Wyatt tells her that it's Robbie, and Holly tells her, Don't do that right now. And Alex responds, Don't do what right now? Talk about what's happening. Holly answers, don't start with the noises, not in front of your brother. In the next scene, the boys are in Wyatt's room. Holly tells them that she'll be back in a bit. Robbie makes sure Holly is gone before telling Wyatt that it's time to go. Wyatt tells him that he thought that they were going to go tonight, but Robbie tells him that they're waiting for them. Alex looks out the window and sees them leaving, saying to herself, Are you fucking kidding me? Those little shits, and starts going after them. As soon as she steps in the street, she's almost hit by a car with the driver saying that she'll get herself killed, and all Alex can say is, Fucking Prius. She opens the gate, entering, stopping to knock on the door before slowly entering it, calling out for the boys and receiving no answer. She continues searching for them, telling them that they're not supposed to be there. When she enters a bedroom, she finds a door that's locked with the master lock on it, but that's when she's interrupted, when she hears Wyatt shrieking. So she goes off running to find him. She finds them playing around, entering the room. She questions what they're doing and that they've got to go back home right now. Robbie tells her no, but she reminds them that she's supposed to be babysitting. As they're leaving, they run into guess what? Or should I say guess who? It's fucking Katie. So you already know that this is not gonna be good. This is not gonna end well. The last we saw of her was October 9th, 2006, when she killed her s when she killed her sister. She killed Daniel Ray, and she left with Hunter. So it's been five years. Alex gas that she's as she's startled. Katie says, Alex, right? So she answers, yeah. Where's Katie been this entire like the entire time that she was walking around the house, like, where was she? Katie tells her that she's Robbie's mom, and Alex apologizes. She didn't know that she was home yet. Katie assures her that it's fine. They had just been hanging out. Katie tells her to thank her mom for her because they've been such a big help. Alex tells Wyatt that he's in trouble, but Katie hugs him and thanks him for hanging out with Robbie and tells Alex that he looks just like his mom. Hmm. That's that's interesting to say. We're gonna put a pen in that one. Alex responds that she guesses so, telling Wyatt that they have to go, scolding him that he can't just run across the street and not tell her and that it's so not cool, asking what if he got kidnapped or something. Wyatt responds that they live in a good neighborhood. Later on, Alex is telling Holly that Katie didn't look like she was sick. Holly responds that it's good, it means she's better, but Alex further explains that she looked like she hadn't been sick. Holly simply responds, Don't be ridiculous. She saw her get taken away in an ambulance, so she's asking she wasn't sick. She did it for fun, and Alex has no answer. Holly asks that she did call. She called her and left a message, but she missed her call. So Alex questions that she called her. Alex also asks, How would Robbie know that? Holly adds that she should be happy Robbie is gone. She wanted him gone and he's gone. In the next scene, the text appears November 14th, 2011, night nine at 1 21 a.m. As the camera cycles through each room, everybody asleep except Doug, who's in the living room watching TV. But he hears a door close followed by a thud. He goes to the bottom of the steps to listen. As he's listening, back in the kitchen, the laptops turns on, so he goes to turn it off, but before he gets too far, it turns back on. Doug goes back to turn it back off once again. He kneels over the laptop as if he's hearing a noise, trying to listen. He puts his ear to the laptop and above his head, a shadowy figure moves past him and it catches his attention. Doug walks away. Suddenly, the knife that disappeared from earlier drops from above and it startles him. And he goes to pick it up because it's sticking straight up in the counter as if it was stabbed there. Um as he does that, we see Holly coming down the stairs and tells him to come back upstairs. He's dumbfounded telling her that the knife he's holding just missed his head. She walks in and asks what he's doing with her knife. Holly, why are you focused on that? That's the knife that went missing. You should be more concerned with that and where it came from. Doug tries explaining that the knife just came from the ceiling. It just it appeared out of nowhere. But she interrupts him, telling him to just come back upstairs. Now, frustrated, she tells him, Fine, don't come back upstairs. She's just so dismissive. Like Alex has told her ass a few times something is in the house. Doug is trying to explain that the knife missed his head, and it's the same exact knife that went missing. Like, I don't know whose words, like her or Julie, like damn. Doug is just confused. He's standing there looking at the life, like, where the fuck did this come from? Like he even looks up at the ceiling. We cut to the next day. Alex is talking to Wyatt, asking if he remembers when he went to Robbie's house. Why was he in there in the first place? He answers he wanted to meet her. She questions what she said to him. It's very weird. So Wyatt answers that him and Robbie are friends because they're both adopted. Alex questions that Robbie's adopted too. How does she know that him, he talking about Wyatt, was adopted? He answers she just knew. Alex asks what else did she say to him, and he tells her that she told him that his other family needs him back. She asks him, What is he talking about, telling him that they're his family. It cuts to later that night, and we see it's November 15th, 2011, night 10 at 3 17 a.m. The cameras cycle through each room. We see Wyatt's bedroom door opens. As he's waking up, Wyatt goes downstairs to the living room. Standing in front of the TV, he whispers, okay, he will. Continuing to whisper, he says he's very sleepy, he doesn't know, and no, it's not. While he's saying that behind him, there is a silhouette of a child walking up slowly behind him. Loudly, he says his name is Wyatt, and here's a reveal that you might not have already seen, or you might have guessed it actually, but if you haven't figured it out, he loudly says it's not Hunter. This is Hunter Ray, aka Christie's son from the second paranormal activity. The same Hunter that walked off with Katie five years ago. Repeating it louder, his name's not Hunter. Doug comes downstairs asking him what he's doing and if he had a nightmare. He asks Wyatt if he's alright and if he's awake, but Wyatt shakes his head yes. The next day, Wyatt Hunter, whatever, is in his treehouse with Robbie. Alex whispers, what the fuck is Robbie doing? So she goes out back to check it out, but when she gets up there, he's gone. She asks Wyatt, Hunter, whatever, where did Robbie go? She asks him what were they talking about, and after a brief moment of silence, he answers that Robbie told him that he got him ready. She questions ready for what? Hunter answers he doesn't know, but Robbie told him that it's his time. In the next scene, Hunter is in his room and Holly tells him that the bath is ready. I forgot to mention he's watching SpongeBob. Not that it matters, but we all know that voice when we hear it. Hunter is now in the bath. Holly goes downstairs and distracted by a phone call. Meanwhile, Hunter is in his bath, he hears a thug that redirects his attention, so he starts backing up. Suddenly, he's violently pulled under the water, but not just pulled under, he's gone. And I don't mean gone like he's dead, I mean God as in he's not even in the tub anymore. As we stare at an empty tub, we go back down to Holly, who's still on the phone, before realizing she's got to get back to upstairs to Wyatt, and he's in the bath. Finally, he reappears back in the tub, but this time he's not normal. He's pretty much catatonic at this moment, like his mom and like Katie. A text appears and we see that it's November 16th, 2011, night 11 at 12.03 a.m. Doug and Holly are watching TV telling Holly that he's never seen Alex so knocked out that she's out code. Holly answers that she gave her one of her sleeping pills, and Doug responds, What? Holly explains that Alex has been up for two days, and that's not true. Every time the night whatever has appeared, Alex has been in bed and she's been asleep. Doug questions if it was the prescription, and she answers, yeah. And at this point, Doug is pissed. That man is livid. He responds, Holly, what the hell? While they're arguing, Hunter wakes up. Doug makes the point that Alex is 15 years old, asking if she's fucking crazy. Holly explains that she texts them all the time, what difference does it make? Coming from someone who has insomnia, there's a big difference between sleeping pills from the store like ZQL or just generic sleeping pills, and then there's sleeping pills that are prescribed. I mean, it's obvious because like those are incredibly strong, and some sleeping pills, pills are actually dangerous, like Airbnb being one of them, where like you'll take the the pill, physically you're awake, but mentally you're still asleep. Like, I don't know how to like explain it, but basically, like your brain isn't awake, even if you're up, moving, talking, walking, whatever, your brain is still asleep. And like the the scary thing about it is you won't remember the next day. People have driven cars on it and had no clue and even crashed, even died. Some have walked around outside, some have even walked into oncoming traffic and have died. Like, don't believe me, look it up. I used to take ambient and I'll never take that shit again. Doug continues telling her that it makes it drives him nuts that she would give her a drug like that and not even ask him about it. Meanwhile, in Alex's room, her door opens and Hunter walks in, her blanket gets ripped off of her, and then her body begins to float. As he stands there calling catatonic, she's completely suspended in the air, sleep because obviously she took a prescription. We cut to the next morning, Holly enters Alex's room to wake her up for school, asking if she's okay. Alex responds that she feels like she just got hit by a bus. Now sitting in front of the laptop as she struggles to log in, so she goes to check and um she goes to check Hunter's computer, but she notices on his closet door the name Hunter is written on it. She's briefly startled when he enters the room, so she asks if he drew that on the door and he just shrugs. Alex asks what's a Hunter and what does that mean? He answers that that's his name. Alex argues that it's not, telling him that his name is not Hunter, so he responds that it used to be. She continues to dispute that it didn't, and he tells her that it did. Alex now downstairs attempts to log in on the kitchen laptop but is unsuccessful. We cut to later that night, we hear Alex tell Holly that she doesn't want to babysit, but Holly tells her that she's overreacting. They're only going to be gone for a few hours. Alex responds that she doesn't want to be alone in the house, but a moment later she storms in her room whispering, bitch. In the next scene, we get our text November 17th, 2011, night twelve at 12 48 a.m. As the camera cycle through each room, we see Alex is on video chat with Ben. He asks what did her parents or what did Alex's parents say about Hunter and his original birth parents. Alex answers that they didn't say anything, they just got mad at her for asking. They responded that how dare she talk about his adoption, he's part of the family. She responds that she's that's not what she's saying. Alex continues to explain that when Hunter was little, he wouldn't sleep at all. He would just wake up in the middle of the night and start screaming, and her dad was the only one that could touch him. Ben responds that that's ridiculous, he's not like that now, and she answers back, that's what she's saying. Now he's starting to get quiet again, and he doesn't talk to her. Ben tells her, even though it's a closed case or whatever, as this is going on in the living room room, however, we see a figure moving on the couch and suddenly it stands up and it's fucking Katie. Alex literally walked right past her when she was on her way to the kitchen and had no clue. Alex responds to Ben that she can totally figure it out, adding that everything is on the internet. She asks Ben if he's sure he can't come over. They really gotta watch the footage. He answers that he knows they have footage to watch, but he can't come over. While they continue to talk, Katie goes upstairs. Ben tells Alex that he's sorry, but he can come over tomorrow and he'll figure it all out and get a solution to the problem that it'll be perfect. It ranks as weird that he says his name is something that it's not. Alex's attention goes elsewhere as she hears a noise and she asks if he heard that. She tells him that the garage is open. Ben questioned if her parents are home. Alex answers that they shouldn't be home, so she opens the door only to discover that they aren't home but the garage door is open. She asks Ben if he sees it, so he responds, yeah, it looks like it's stuck. As she walks inside, she cements that she hates the fucking house, and as she closes the garage door and walks away, she tells Ben that she'll talk to him later, and he tells her that he'll talk to her tomorrow. Before she can get in the house, the garage door opens back up. She goes to investigate and starts hearing noises all around her. The garage door slams shut and the door to the house slams shuts as well. Suddenly behind her, the car starts on its own. Alex begins in a panic screaming for help. Wyatt wakes up and goes to leave his room, but quickly returns when he runs back into his room hiding in a closet. In the garage, Alex is panting while trying to open the door as the car emits carbon monoxide, filling the garage full of smoke. Alex now coughing, tries to get into the car, but the doors are locked. Back in Wyatt Hunter, whatever. I'm just gonna refer to him as Hunter going forward. Like we we all know who it is. So back in Hunter's room, Katie walks in, calling out to him, telling him that it's his Aunt Katie. She kneels down to the door and tells him to open it as he's locked himself in the room. Crying and sobby, she encourages him to open the door and tells him that he's almost ready, continuing to demand that he open the door. In the garage, Alex continues to struggle, the car continues to fill up the garage, and Alex is slowly losing oxygen. Hunter has now opened the door and Katie tells him that she'll be there until he's ready. In the smoky garage, Alex has gone silent. Suddenly she collapses in front of the camera, coughing and gaspering, whispering that she can't breathe. But then suddenly she grabs a golf club and smashes the window. She gets in the car and reverses it through the garage door. She should have been lost oxygen. The car has been running full throttle this entire time, and from what I've heard or what I know, it doesn't take long to like pass out from carbon. Oxide poisoning. And then secondly, how did she drive the car that had no keys? And don't say it's remote star, because even then the remote has to be in proximity for it to even allow the car to be drivable. In the next scene, Alex is highly upset telling Doug and Holly that she almost died. The car turned on by itself. She didn't even have the keys. It's impossible. She needs to call Ben to show that she's not crazy. The next day, Alex is telling Ben that they just think that she's crazy. Doug enters the room, knocking on her door, asking if he can take her out to dinner. She questions why, and he answers so that they can talk, just the two of them, about what's going on. She reminds him that he doesn't listen to her anyway. There's no point in talking. So he responds that he's ready to listen. With an attitude, she tells him, Fine, she's going. They should have been ready to talk. Like last night should have proved that everything right there, like was not normal. And like I said, parents, listen to your kids. If something seems off or doesn't seem normal or doesn't even make sense. Don't ignore it. A brief moment later, we see the cat running away from something again. Holly is in the kitchen on the phone with Doug asking how dinner is going and if she's alright. If it's dinner, it must be an early dinner because it looked like it's still early afternoon, like it doesn't even look like the sun is setting. She tells Doug that they can talk about it later. Over in the living room, Katie is standing there before going upstairs and into Hunter's room. As Holly walks through the living room, she stops when she hears a noise. Walking towards the TV, a book falls down and startles her. In shock, she goes to put it back, and as she backs away, she bumps into an unseen presence. The presence growl and her hair moves, and after a brief pause, she's pulled up into the air, screaming. We hear bones crack as her lifeless body hits the ground. Katie goes downstairs and drags Holly's body away. We then hear the security system notification that the front door has opened, and we see it's Ben. He calls off for Alex, eventually calls her, but has to leave her a message because he's been trying to reach her all day and she's not been answering. He adds to the message that he found some crazy shit online about the triangle symbol and is connected to a coven, so he's gonna pull it up on her computer and leave it there for her to see. That little, I guess, bread crumb about the coven will be very important going forward in the franchise, so make sure you hold that thought in the back of your mind. Ben goes to check the laptop in the living room, but then a loud thud catches his attention. He calls out to see if anybody is home and nobody answers. He enters Alex's room and looks around before sitting at her desk. When he sits down, Katie is standing directly behind him. He senses something is off, but before he can react, she snaps his neck and then drags his body into her into Alex's closet. She snaps Ben's neck worse than she did Daniels. Yeah, Daniels was quick. I mean so was Ben's, but when she snapped Ben's neck, his face was facing his back. Like that shit was yeah. Doug and Alex return home and see Wyatt with Katie. Doug, unsure of what he's seeing, asks if that's Holly and Wyatt, but Alex answers that no, that's Robbie's mom. As they enter the gate in front of Katie's home, Doug tells Alex to go inside while he goes over there and see what's going on. Alex walks inside calling out for Holly, but we know that she's dead. She sits at her desk asking why Ben was on her computer, so she calls him, but then she notices the ringing is coming from her closet. So she walks over to check out what's going on or if Ben is in there. She's suddenly violently thrown from the closet from an unseen force. As she tries to get up, she's dragged out of her room. She manages to run outside and she attempts to stop a car that's driving past, begging for them to stop because she needs help. She continues screaming out for help, screaming for Doug. She enters the house and tries turning on the lights, but they don't come on. She hears Doug's groaning and walks towards a room with plastic covering the walkway, and when she gets close by it, Doug is thrown into it, and he's thrown into the next room. He's now being dragged off and she yells for it to let him go repeatedly. That's like Toby's signature move. He loves dragging people. Every single movie thus far, he's dragged someone, so that's like his obsession. That and snapping next. Doug is dragged off screen and we never see or hear from him again. She enters Robbie's room where she hears whimpering. She whispers for Wyatt, but the whimpering just continues. In Robbie's room, Alex notices that the windows are covered in newspaper, but behind her, Wyatt calls out for Alex, telling her to help him. She asks him where he is, but he doesn't respond. She walks out into the hallway, calling out for him, but at the other end of the hallway, Katie turns the corner. Catching Alex off guard, she tells Katie not to hurt her. Katie answers by charging at her with a demonic appearance with heavy footsteps as she's growling and shrieking. Alex runs into Robbie's room and swiftly slams the door shut, but it does nothing as Katie smashes through the door. Alex at this point has no choice but to climb out of the window where she runs into Wyatt, who's just standing there. She tells him that they have to go and they have to go right now and for him to come with her, but he's not moving. He's just staring at her. She asks what's wrong with him, repeating, let's go. She pants to the left and is greeted by a very large group of women, all wearing the symbol on their necklaces. Slowly approaching her, she then turns to run, but Demon Katie is right there. Alex screens and the screen cuts off and the end credits roll. That's it, ladies and gentlemen. That's your paranormal activity for. What are your impressions of this movie? Where do you rate it?
