I think it might have been overhyped, but regardless, it just didn't do it for me. Um, also on another note, I have managed to break my my thumb and part of my hand, so it's gonna be hard for me to write my scripts. Just bear with me. I'm still gonna try to get them pushed out on a weekly basis, but we'll see how it goes. So moving on, I have some horror updates for you this weekend or this week in horror features. Um, a conjuring prequel has been greenlit. Um coverage says that film director Rodriguez Huart is in talks to helm the project with Richard Nane and Ian Goldberg. They are attached to right, however, the deals are not yet finalized, so that could change at any point in time. Last Rights just delivered the biggest global opening weekend ever for a horror film at around about 194 million worldwide and has climbed to roughly 487 million globally. And then on top of that, a separate Conjuring TV series is also moving forward at HBO Max with Nancy Wong and she set as the showrunner. So that's all I have for that one in a moment. Secondly, last but not least, Scream 7, as we all know, is set to hit the theaters on February 27th, 2026. After a few years of production troubles, including the exit of its two main stars, Ghostface is back, and apparently so are some of his or hers past victims. A lot of fans like to go in blind, they don't want to spoil their experience when the day comes, so they don't watch the trailer. For others, a trailer slash teaser is a chance to speculate on who the killer is and poison the internet with their theories. So the trailer has been released if you want to check that out. Um aside from that, it looks like it is going to be good. I like it anyway, but we'll see how it plays out. We we we we know how these things play out, so you know just tune into the um trailer. Moving on from the weekly horror updates. Welcome back to Chills Thrills and a podcast. If you're new here, hi, welcome aboard. This is our horror community podcast where we review, discuss, and analyze all things horror. This week we are continuing our review of the paranormal activity franchise with the six-entry paranormal activity, the ghost dimension. Before we get into the behind the scenes, I'm actually going to issue you your spoiler warning earlier than normal. If you have not seen this movie, this is where you pause this, go check out the movie, and then come back here and join us for the discussion. Paranormal Activity, the Ghost Dimension relies heavily on the fact that you've seen the previous entries. The Ghost Dimension was the first and only installment in the franchise to be released in 3D. It was shot in 45 days, and you can tell because the movie just it looks looks and feels rushed. Um, it all it also has scenes that were sloppy. Within those 45 days, it had a budget of 10 million, making it the most expensive film in the series, but it was also considered uh the poorest performer financially in the theater. This is also the first feature film to not feature Katie Featherston. She's mentioned, but that's about it. Box Office, Paranormal Activity The Ghost Dimension grossed $18.3 million in North America and $66.6 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $78.9 million against a budget of 10 million. The film opened on October 23rd, 2015, alongside The Last Witch Hunter, Rock the Cash Kabosh, and Jim and the Holograms, as well as the expanded release of Steve Jobs as well. In its opening weekend, the film had projected to gross roughly 10 or 12 million from 1,656 theaters. However, some projections put some projections had it earning only the high single digits. The film made $500,000 from the from its early Thursday screenings and $3.3 million on its first day in its opening weekend. The film grossed $8.1 million, finishing sixth at the box office. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approved rating of 15% based on 75 reviews and an average rating of 3.7 against 10. The website's critical consensus reads that paranormal activity, the Ghost Dimension, ties up some of the franchises' lingering questions, but six films into the series, the thrills are mostly gone. On Metacritic, the film has a score of 30 out of 100 based on reviews from 13 critics indicating that generally unfavorable reviews. Audience polled by the cinema score gave the film an average of C on an A plus to F scale. Andrew Barker of Variety wrote, There may well be new and novel ways to spark audience shivers from not so bright homeowners, inexplicably using the camera phones to check out bumps in the night. But this series clearly has neither the patience nor the inclination to look for them anymore. Justin Lowe of Hollywood Reporter wrote, Even at this late stage of evolution of the franchise, logical lapses in filmmaking technique undercut the integrity of the film footage format, but continuing it continuous was never one of the series' strong points, a shortcoming easily forgiven by the fans. Noelle Murray of the Los Angeles Times gave it a positive review. At its most basic level, the paranormal activity formula still has some kick with its combination of creepy, low-fi video and tasteful suburbia creating some strong, unsettling nuances. The Ghost Dimension opens up following the events of the conclusion of Paranormal Activity 3. We see the moment when Dennis is crawling on the floor and Grandma Lois comes around the corner. As he looks up at her, he is then knocked back down by an unseen force, which we know by now it's Toby. Dennis is folded backwards, and as we hear his back break, killing him instantly. Katie and Christy follow Lois up the stairs and into a room, and Christy admits that she's scared, but Lois tells her not to be scared. She then asks Lois who is this gentleman that's sitting waiting their arrival. Lois tells them that he's going to be their teacher. This is Kent, by the way, played by Dennis McManus. He tells Katie and Christy that it's a very good day, asking them why, and further explaining today is the beginning. Your friend Toby, he's known him for a long time. He's known him by other names, and grandma Grandma Lois knows him too. Lois explains that she had to learn too. It was very hard at first, but it was worth it. Ken tells Christy that she's going to grow up and she's going to have a son, which is one of the chosen. He continues telling Katie that her gift is her strength. A lot is going to be asked of her. She's going to have to take care of her sister and a lot of others. There's a special girl out there, and he's going to bring her to them. We get a white text that reads Santa Rosa, California, November 29th, 2013. We see Leela, played by Ivy George, drawing a picture of her uncle screaming, as her dad Ryan, played by Chris Murray, asks, What was she drawing? Ryan reminds Leela of what she's going to do when Uncle Mike gets there. Leela's going to practice jumping out to scare him. After a brief moment, there's a knock at the door, so Leela cracks it the door to let him walk in, and as he walks in, she jumps off to scare him. Uncle Mike, played by Dan Gill, walks in pretending to be scared. Mike greets Leela with a hug, calling her his favorite niece. Ryan greets his brother, asking about his mustache, and Ryan's wife, slash Leela's mother, Emily, played by Britt Shaw, comes down to greet Mike. She asks if he's staying for a month because his bag is massive. Mike gives Ryan a face like he clearly didn't tell her something. While greeting Emily, Skylar, played by Olivia Taylor Dudley, walks in to greet Mike, asking if he remembers her. She greets him with a hug as he playfully tries to kiss her. After a short moment, Emily questions two weeks when he originally told her two days. Ryan responded that he just got dumped over email and he's devastated. Emily points out his bag is his whole apartment. Why is this conversation even being recorded? So here we go again. Typical paranormal activity fashion, there are a lot of things filmed that shouldn't be filmed, but I get it, they gotta fill time for the movie. You know, fine, whatever. The conversation is interrupted when Mike drops a glass vase, commenting that he was just trying to make a rainbow, and Ryan tells him that it's okay, they didn't use it anyways. In the next scene in Leela's room, she makes fun of Mike's mustache and dropping the vase as well. She then is playing with her recorder and telling Mike that he has to come to her talent show, so he responds that he's going to be there. He just doesn't have a date. Why do you need a date for a children's show? But whatever. He continues commenting that he left his date in Chicago. It's kind of why him and him and Sandra called it quits. She didn't want kids, but he does, so he's leaving. He tried telling her that children are the future. After making cards for Christmas, Mike card read reads, Have a shitty Christmas, you bitch, while he mouths, Happy Fucking Holiday. Ryan comments, festive. We cut to the next scene and we see Mike and Skylar discussing a yoga retreat. It's a week-long yoga retreat, and Mike questions if she's there for rehab, and she answers that she's not there for rehab. And Mike responds, let's just be honest, just call it call it what it is. But Skylar repeats that she's there for a yoga retreat. It's just yoga, and she thought that it would be nice to come and stay with them for a week because she missed them. Later on, Ryan crawls under the Christmas tree to plug it in. The tree now lit. Emily pulls out her tree topper that her grandmother gave her mom, and Leela's Leela's grandmother gave it to her. When she's old enough, she will pass it over to Leela. So Ryan holds her out so she can put it on the tree, and she does. Festive Christmas music plays as Leela dances. The next morning, Ryan and Mike gather Christmas decorations to put up outside the house. Ryan tells Mike to grab more lights out of a box, but in the box it's caulk. Ryan looks in the box and inside of it is a huge camera. This camera is actually Dennis's camera from the third movie. Inside of the box are, well, you guessed it, the damn tapes that have popped up throughout the franchise. In the next scene, Ryan is testing the camera and notices that it's glitchy. But to us, it's is to us it's setting up the 3D uh format basically. But anyway, he continues to make adjustments and cleanse the lanes. Entering the living room, he shows Emily and Leela the camera, introducing himself as award-winning cameraman, and Leela repeats it, it's so big. Emily comments on if if that's the size that people carry, or how did they carry it if it was that size? Ryan comments that he doesn't know and if it's out of focus or what, but it's kind of like picking up some trippy trails on the lights. He adds that he's seeing more of a sort of odd shape in the middle of the room, some sort of blurry thing. Commenting that it's so weird, so Emily responds that it's probably just old. Ryan tells her that he sent that he seen something in the middle of the room. I hate that they made this 3D because like Ryan's constantly using it for the sole purpose of us being able to see what what he sees, I guess. But also, they did say for the first time you will see the activity, which I think is stupid. But I think this is where, well, it it's already lost its identity, but now it just flies off the rails at this point, it's just all over the place. To me, the unseen is scarier versus what is seen. That that can be like that can make or break a film. Think about this for a second. In the Blair Witch project, when Heather, Mike, and Josh ran out of the tent, whoever was holding the camera was supposed to pan to the left but forgot to do it, which to me was a smarter choice. Because once you introduce they were being chased by somebody wearing all white. You introduce that, you kind of take away from the shock factor, and basically not seeing the Blair Witch, but she's out there making noises, she's mimicking, copying Josh's voice, she's warping reality, time, all of that, and then you're gonna show us somebody that's dressed in all white. So, no, the horror movies where it's not seen works better than what you do see. Sometimes, actually, the unseen kind of leaves it to your own imagination. Um, what you think can or can happen, this isn't always the case, though. There are other movies that do it and do it perfectly. Anyway, Ryan steps into the area that he pointed out and sounds like it would be like it sounds like how how it sounds when you put your head under underwater. That's what it sounds like when Ryan steps into I guess the mass or whatever it is, they're sitting in the middle of the room. Later on, Ryan and Emily put Leela to bed. He returns to the living room with the camera, but whatever was there is now gone. Emily questions if he's coming to bed, and he answers that he can't see it anymore. He thinks it's gone, as Emily tells him that it's awesome, he fixed it, so now it's time to come to bed. He can play with his camera tomorrow. Ryan comments that he didn't fix anything, and they went upstairs and came back down, and now it's completely gone. Emily could care less about that. She tells him if he comes to bed now, she'll have sex with him. And in an attempt to look sexy, she walks into the wall. But it doesn't matter because he then puts the camera down fast as fuck, and the scene ends. In the next scene, we see Ryan has taken the camera apart, describing it as custom. He's gone to several websites and nothing looks like his camera. Traditionally, it has three picture tubes, but this one has six and seems like it has multiple focus rings. Mike questioned why is he so into the camera? Ryan answers that he doesn't know, but it's sitting in his house. He's never seen any of this before, and he's never even seen the box. Ryan now holding the camera, is walking around upstairs when he overhears Leela asking if her parents can come. So Ryan walks into her room and after greeting her, he asks, Who was she talking to? And Leela responds, Her friend. Here we go again with another damn imaginary friend. We saw how the last one played out, so sit tight. Ryan questions, Where's your friend? and she points to a TP slash tent that she has set up in her room. Leela tells Ryan that she wants to play hide and seek, so she takes off running, shouting for him to count to ten. While he's counting, he starts looking around her room, and whatever was there before isn't there anymore. Later that night, now Mike has the camera telling Ryan that the girls are out tonight and they've got the house to themselves. Mike recommends that they take the night off, but Ryan responds that he has to get a game out before the Christmas break. Mike tells Ryan that he was going through bags. Ryan asks, What did he find? And questions, dirty w dirty underwear. But instead, Mike responds, he found a souvenir from his Belgian trip. Ryan questions if it's fine Belgian chocolate wrapped up in a piece of foil. Mike answers that it's not about the presentation. They put a lot of time into the making the chocolate, followed by he knows why Ryan would expect that from him. Ryan answers that he knows him pretty well. He's been living with him for a very long time. Mike comments, fair enough, but he swears to God that it's not inedible. It is 100% inedible because we see we see Mike sitting in front of the fireplace staring into a Santa Claus decoration while his eyes are glowing. Ryan looks over at Mike, commenting that the Santa Claus decoration is talking to him. The two share a laugh. We then cut to them inside Ryan's office with Mike asking why he still has VHS tapes. Ryan responds with, Did he ever tell him that he stole their dad's old old pornos? So he was like, he needed a way to watch them, so he went and got a VCR. Now looking at the tape tapes, Mike asks if they're all from 1988 to 1992. This isn't the same box of tapes that we saw before. These are labeled differently. Instead of the typical Katie and Christy 1988, these are laid labeled Katie and Christy April 1992, lesson 14, 1992, and opening doors July 14th, 1992. Ryan pops one in, and we see September 3rd, 1988, which was the date of Christy's birthday party. I mean sorry, Katie's birthday party from the third film. Mike comments that that's not Ryan's house, where is this? Ryan doesn't know. As the footage continues, we hear Dennis's voice as he records Julie. Ryan questions what this is and what are they watching. Mike, uninterested, walks away. Ryan tells him that he's gonna put another one in. After a short moment, Ryan pops in and Dennis's and Julie's sex tape shows up that was interrupted by the earthquake. But since it's not a porn, he picks another tape. This one is called opening doors, and Ryan comments that this could be a porn. Ryan and Mike are like clearly thirsty for a porn. Like, geez, you have a whole ass computer in front of you. You're that desperate for porn. Pull it up on it on the internet. On the tape, we see Kent giving Christy instructions telling her to focus and not to use her eyes to see. Use his, use what's inside of her. Mike comments that this is a little different. Questions if Kent is hypnotizing her. We hear Grandma Lois telling her to concentrate. She needs her to concentrate. Kent continues telling her that she sees through him. Let him show her what he sees. Let him take her there. Let him show her. Christy comments that there's a room. Mike points out Katie in the background, like taking notes. Christy adds that there's a lot of colors, there's butterflies, there's a big bird over the door. Grandma Lois questions, What's so funny? And Christy answers, There's a tent. Ryan repeats, a tent, but Mike doesn't quite seem to know what she's talking about. Christy further explains that the tent she sees is like the one her and Katie camped out in in uh 1988. But this one's right in the little girl's room. Ryan looks at Mike and Mike questions, why is he looking at him like that? Christy walks, oh sorry, Christy asks, Why would a tent be in the middle of the room? Mike asks, What is he missing? And Ryan answers, A tent in the middle of the room, butterflies. A bird above the door? Questions, does any of that sound familiar? And Mike answers, yeah, boredom. Ryan points out that Christy just described Leela's room, but Mike isn't falling for it. He simply tells him that he's so fucking high, asking if Ryan ate more chocolate than he did. But Ryan is adamant that Christy just described Leela's room. Kent asks Christie if he's there. Christy concentrating very hard while Kent questions if he's in the room or is he in the house. Mike questions why is he making her do this and who is him? After intense concentration, she answers that he's there and simultaneously opening her eyes to reveal black eyes, and at the same time the power briefly shuts off. Ryan asks if a switch was tripped. Mike answers that he didn't trip a switch. Maybe they just blew a fuse firing up that old VCR. Now the power has returned. Ryan cements that that was strange. Suddenly a noise is heard that catches Ryan's attention. He asks Mike if he heard that, and he answers yeah. So Ryan tells him to come with him, but Mike's like, nah, I'm good. Have fun now. He responds, take your camera and go ahead and check it out yourself. Ryan goes to investigate. Mike mocks Kent telling Ryan to concentrate. He wants him to focus. Now upstairs, Ryan sees black particles floating in the hallway, but then just loses it. So he calls out for Mike repeatedly and receives no response. He begins to see the black particles near Leela's room, but suddenly a ball comes flying at him from the pitch black room in the hallway, revealing to revealing it had been thrown by Mike. Mike shouts goal and mimics Ryan's calls for Mike. In the next scene, Mike is walking around telling Ryan that he thinks his camera is starting to see something. He thinks he's seeing something. It's a dipshit. Asking Ryan if he sees the dipshit. There are like particles of dipshit around his oar. It's right around him. He's the dipshit. A few minutes later, Emily, Scalar, and Leela return home making cookies in the kitchen. Leela makes her cookie to look like Mike, but in all honesty, it looks like a dick in balls. Mike questions what does she do exactly? She answers kind of like fong shui. She moves the furniture around so that it's not blocking the energy, which she should probably do it with uh here at the house, mentioning it to Ryan. He asks. Why and she responds with it just feels a little different. I don't know if this is kind of like foreshadowing or if she's legit pointing out to Ryan that something feels off, like something is legitimately off. And it would make sense because he's been seeing the black particles, so that's probably what she means by it just feels different. Skylar asks Mike if he if his energy is blocked. Mike chuckles and answers he's flowing nicely. If she wants to relieve some sort of blockage, Ryan kind of makes a face like for him to chill out. I mean that that comment was like kind of out of pocket. There's like a little kid literally right there. With the swift subject change, Mike tells Ryan to tell them about the night they had last night. So Ryan comments, he's just he's just kind of been seeing and hearing some strange things. Now Skylar is looking at the camera and explains that she's heard of spirit photography before, but she's never actually seen it in person. So she asks Ryan what kind of stuff he has been seeing. He answers just shapes. She adds it could be a spirit of some kind, but most of the time these cameras just don't pick up on beings as much as different planes of existence. Somewhere where lots of displaced energy would travel to, but you know, sometimes it's just a camera glitch. Ryan comments that it's weird, but he doesn't think that it's a glitch. He saw it in Leela's room, and then he saw it again last night when it was in the hallway. We cut to later that night. Ryan tells Mike and Skylar that Leela is asleep and him and Emily are taking off. They should be back around 11. Mike asks Skylar if she really thinks the camera really is seeing ghosts, and she answers that she thinks it's totally possible. In another 3D scene, Skylar comments that the likes look so cool with the camera, and Mike responds that she should see that on mushrooms. Skylar tells Mike that she's going to need some wine, possibly like Rose. So he runs inside to get it while she continues looking around. Suddenly it all goes silent. No crickets, no chirping, no nature sounds, just absolute silence. I've heard that if you're in an area or possibly even the woods, when you're hearing, you know, just the typical nature sounds, and then it suddenly goes completely quiet, that means something is either in your area or stalking you, possibly. I'm not sure there's connection with that, just thought I'd say that. Behind Skylar, a black mask moves in front of the camera, and of course she's unaware. I forgot to mention that she originally sat the camera down before the black mask moved in front of the camera, so that's why she didn't see it. She picks the camera up, calling out, hello, is somebody there? And of course nobody is there to answer. Off to the side of her, she hears rustling and rustling noises in the bush, but Mike pops up with the whine and startles her, so she tells him that she thinks something's there, she thinks she felt something. She looked through the camera but didn't see anything. The lights out back shut off, but Mike tells her that that's just the timer. So he turns on the night vision, and when he does, off to the side, the seesaw that they have in their backyard starts moving. He tells her that it's probably the wind. So she asks if he sees something, but he doesn't. A noise attracts them towards the pool. The pool bubbles, so she asks if he sees anything, but he tells her that they need to go back inside. Skylar kneels down to the pool and Mike asks, What the hell is that? And out of nowhere, a black mass shoots out from the water. Mike shouts, Fuck, something just flew out of the pool. Skylar urges Mike to be quiet, he's gonna scare it, and he quickly responds, Fuck that, he's gonna scare it. For whatever reason, Skylar wants to check it out, so she gets the camera from Mike and she sees the black particles floating in by the bushes. She tells Mike there's something there. She continues to search the area, but then she runs into Leela. Skylar questions what she's doing out there. It's cold and Skylar picks her up and they head back inside. The next morning we see Mike explaining the events from the previous night before further explaining the stuff with the pool was weird, but Skylar was way more scared of it than he was. He also comments that maybe they saw something, but the camera is janky, so it's unclear. As they searched the area, they found where Leela was standing, and Skylar explains that they were coming around the corner and they turned and she was just standing there. Emily questions if they asked her why she was there, and Mike answers she was like comatose. He doesn't know if she heard them, it was like she was sleepwalking, and he doesn't know what she was doing. Ryan comments that she's not a sleepwalker, she sleeps real soundly. Skylar tells them to come take a look at something. Skylar reaches for the item and discovers that it's it's Mer Emily's rosary beads or necklace, asking Emily if it's hers, and Emily answers that yeah, she identifies it as her rosary. Ryan asks if they saw her burying it last night, and she answers no, but she didn't see her, so it's possible. Ryan and Emily go to Leela's room to see what she's up to. Ryan puts the camera down and sits next to her tepee tent while she's playing in it. Ryan asks if she knows how he got his new toy, kind of like she's got all of her toys. Ryan continues telling her that his new toy saw something very interesting last night. Leela starts to say something but then changes her mind and tells him that she doesn't know she doesn't want to talk about it. If I'm correct, I think didn't Christy say the same thing in the third movie, or was it when she told Toby she didn't want to talk to him anymore? I don't either way, Toby's back on his bullshit. Ryan questions who is him, and she doesn't answer him. Instead, the scene ends. In the next scene, Ryan is making adjustments to the camera while footage of Katie and Christy plays in the background. Some of the footage being shown is what we saw in the third movie. Something catches his attention in the next room, so he goes to check it out. He overhears Leela talking, so as he approaches the bathroom, she's sitting on the counter facing the mirror, and her hand is on the mirror while while she's chanting what sounds like gibberish. Ryan asks, What is she doing in there? and she continues chanting, but suddenly she slowly turns towards him, and it's something about this that's creepy as fuck. The bathroom is pitch black, so all you really can see is like a dark figure. After she turns, Ryan notices her hand is bleeding, so he picks her up, asking what happened. As they walk away, if you look real closely, you'll see another hand on the other side of the mirror that slowly pulls away, but not before hitting the glass and causing it to crack. The following day, Ryan is showing Skylar the footage, and Skylar asks, What is what is she saying? So he puts it in reverse and it's revealed that she was saying Bloody Mary backwards. Mike questions is she saying Bloody Mary? And Ryan asks, What's Bloody Mary? There's two things wrong about this. Are you serious right now? Who doesn't know about Bloody Mary? Ryan is about mid to late 20s, maybe even early 30s, and you've never heard of Bloody Mary. Why why this they didn't need to put this part in the movie because it's just pointless exposition. Secondly, we're back on Bloody Mary. That's the shit Katie and Randy were playing in the bathroom right before all shit went through went crazy. Skylar answers, it's a game kids play, so Rand asks, What kind of game? So she explains it originally in the game, you say it three times and a witch appears and shows you who you're supposed to marry. But when she used to play it the way most kids play it, you say bloody married three times and a bloody witch appears and grabs you by the neck. I've never heard that version. The version I heard growing up was kind of similar to the Candyman thing. You say her name three times, a witch appears behind you and kills you. Ryan questions how would Leela know about this game? There's no way. So he asked Skylar how old she was when she played it, and Skylar doesn't remember she was young, adding that maybe Leela's friends showed her. We quick quickly cut into Mike forcing Ryan to an area out back, saying that he cracked the case, and on the ground there's a slab of concrete that says Katie and Christy 1987. Mike questions if they live there, so they must have. Why else would there be a slab of concrete with their names written on it? He adds, this is the same house where they filmed all the weird shit, but it's not though. It doesn't even look the same. Mike does research and discovers that the house burned down in 1992. The weird thing that gets me is yes, the third movie was set in 1988, and at the end of it, when you see the static, if you pause it, you'll see the house is on fire. So it seems like it burned down four years after the events of Paranormal Activity 3, which just doesn't make sense. It should have been burned down originally in '88. But they say the family disappeared without a trace, so it took four years to figure that shit out. Mike continues telling Ryan, no bodies were recovered, the whole family just disappeared, including the daughters, Katie and Christy. A brief moment later, Emily questions if he thinks their daughter is talking to a ghost. Ryan answers that Leela has been getting up at night playing with something that only her and the camera can see. She responds, kids do weird things, it doesn't mean that the house is haunted. I think this is a callback to the third movie when Julie told Dennis that kids do weird shit. Katie used to get up in the middle of the night and sleep on the toilet, so I think that's a throwback to that, a callback to that. Brian explains that people who lived at the house 20 years ago, they put up cameras and court all kinds of funny things, and their house is built on top of the original house. She responds asking if Mike put him up to the idea, and he tells her no, but she argues every time he comes over that they find some crazy thing that they want to get into, and he promises it's not like that at all. He just wants to see if there's something in the house or if he's just crazy. He'll feel better either way, so she agrees that he can do it, but only for a few days. Mike and Ryan go around putting up cameras. They put two cameras in Leela's room. One of them is to see if the other one is picking up anything or something special. Mike comments so they can watch his daughter sleep all night. Nothing weird about that. We get our first uh we get our first text 30 minutes into the film and it reachs December 12, 2013, night one at 1.24 a.m. We alternate between the living room and Leela's room. She's sound asleep, but then a black mask raises from beneath her bed and just stands over her, and we see the time speed up until 4.06 a.m. Leela ends up waking up, and when she does, the black mass is at the foot of her bed. I don't know why I keep referring it to it as the black mask when it's actually Toby, but he just is he just has no form yet, so I guess I guess that's why I'm doing it. Either way, it looks like black slime. This must be his form until he gets a baddie, but if he's a demon, why is that his form? Or like I don't know. While looking at the front of her bed, she says, Okay, where? But that's interrupted when Skylar walks in and asks what she's doing awake, adding that it's cold, so she tells Leela to get under her blanket and she tucks her in. Before leaving the room, she walks over to the corner where the camera is. The black mass appears directly behind her, and Leela sits up. And as she leans over to check the computer, the black mass is directly behind her and kind of rushes past her like lunges. She quickly asks, What was that? She changes her tone and not to scare Leela, saying that it was nothing, and tells Leela to lay back down. Skylar, visibly scared, is looking all around as she quickly exits the room. Ryan walks into the kitchen where Leela is eating breakfast and tells her that he saw something in her room last night with her and Auntie Skylar. Leela continues eating and playing on her iPad, completely ignoring Ryan. He calls for her attention and asks what woke her up last night, and she tells him that Toby did. Toby used to wake Chrissy up all the time. Ryan asks, Who's Toby? and she just continues eating her cereal. He asks again and she ignores him. In the next scene, Ryan is describing to Emily, commenting that it was big, dark shaped, and it was just floating around, and she called it Toby, adding that she's not scared of it at all. He tells her he knows she must think he's crazy or losing his mind. The whole time, I don't think she's paying any attention to anything that he's saying because she's not even responsive. She doesn't respond, or as a matter of fact, the scene just ends. In the next scene, Ryan is explaining to Mike that Emily thinks that he's nuts. But remember, he told Mike, Leela said her friend Toby wakes her up, like woke her up last night. Mike responds, yeah, so Ryan tells him, check this out, and he puts in a tape from 1988, and we immediately remember this scene. The footage he's showing Mike is Christy's tea party, where Dennis almost sits on Toby and gives him an imaginary pat on the back. After that, Christy tells Dennis, don't sit there because that's Toby's spot. Anyway, Ryan comments that they're talking about Toby. Mike calls it a coincidence. Ryan continues explaining four years later, the girls, Kenny and Christy, have grown up a bit, and we see Ponytail telling the girls that Toby's a very important part of their lives. Mike's still not take not taking it serious. He jokes that so they stayed in touch with the two Tobes. That was nice. Mike continues joking around, asking Ryan if he thinks Toby is a guy or is a girl. Toby would be a cool stripper name, and as she's coming down the main stage, please welcome Toby. Ryan comments to Mike that the camera's not busted. It's seeing something that's there. Mike calls it a piece of shit, but Ryan comments that Toby is not a common name. Mike argues that Leela probably watched the tape, so Ryan responds that she's three feet tall. She has no idea what a VCR even is, she couldn't even reach up there. To put it in, hit play and get the right tape. Mike tells him that that makes him feel old, that kids don't know what a VCR is. But soon after, a noise is a noise catches their attention, so Mike begins to look around the kitchen since he has the camera. Ryan asks if he sees anything, so Mike comments, holy shit, and Ryan asks if he sees something, but then they realize that it's the ice maker in the freezer. Jokingly, Mike asks if Toby likes ice. Mike continues joking that he thinks that they should let him out of the freezer. It's probably why he's so ticked all the time. Ryan just responds that there's too much of a coincidence. That's all he's saying during this conversation. Another noise is heard, but this time it's out in the living room. Ryan tells Mike to keep it down because everyone's sleeping, but Mike tells him the sound came from out there. So Brian gets the camera from Mike and goes to check it out. Looking around the living room, he sees the black mask upstairs heading towards Leela's room. He whispers to Mike that something's up there, but it's different though. It's heading into Leela's room. Mike whispers to Brian that they need to leave. They're going to wake wake Leela, and Ryan, however, wants to see where it went. Ryan starts looking around her room but sees nothing, so he leans over Leela to cover her with the blanket. But when he turns around, the black master standing right there and lunges at him. Ryan shouts in fear, and they both fall to the ground. And of course, they woke Leela up. And she asks, What is he doing? He apologizes, repeating that everything is okay, just go back to sleep. Let me tell you something. I forgot about this jump scare, so when it happened, I actually did jump. We cut to the next day and we see Mike telling Ryan that he uh screamed because Ryan screamed. Ryan responds that he screamed so loud, and Mike comments that he's he shouted near his sleeping daughter's face, and that's what made him scream. Ryan explains that he screamed because of what the camera showed him, and he points to one of the monitors of the picture of the force or the face that scared him. Ryan comments it's more concentrated, it's got more of a form now, it's darker, and he felt the thing fly past him. He asks that it looked like a face, but it's not human. Mike questions why does he feel he needs the camera in Leela's room? So Ryan answers he just doesn't think one camera can cover the whole room. It's talking to her and telling her to do things, and it's not just in her room, it's moving all around the house. He wants to know where it's going and what it wants. Later that night we get the next little title card, December 14th, 2013, night three at 2 15 a.m. As we cycle through the cameras, everyone is asleep, but in the hallway to Leela's room, the black mass appears and goes into her room. Eventually waking her up, she nods her head yes, followed by asking now. We then see Leela creeping through the hallway. Leela goes to the fireplace and starts tearing pages out of a book and throwing it into the fireplace. Then she turns on the gas, she tries lighting a match, but Emily sees this and runs down the stairs to stop her. Emily demands that she puts the matches down, questioning what she's doing. She asks Leela if she turned on the gas and then scolds her for doing so and telling her that she cannot play with matches. She puts Leela back to bed and returns back downstairs. Emily reaches in the fireplace to retrieve the pages, and while doing that, the black mask falls from the ceiling. Emily's still inside of the fireplace, but suddenly she's startled when the gas turns on by itself. She gasps and runs to turn it, rushes to turn it off. Circling around the living room, suddenly she takes a step and the treetopter falls and scares the shit out of her. She goes to get Ryan and the screen ends. The next morning, Emily is explaining to Skylar that the Bible that Leela had was the Bible from upstairs and it was in the fireplace. That's what she was trying to burn. The rosary that she tried to bury was also in the fireplace. Emily continues to explain. Leela said that she was playing a game, and Skylar asks, What kind of game? Can you play with what kind of game can you play with matches? Emily adds that she said she was playing a game with Toby. Skylar comments that she just knew Emily had the book up there. She probably doesn't even know what it is, but Emily doesn't know. She just put her back to bed and then she comes back down and then the angel falls. None of it seems like her. It seems like she's different. In my opinion, Leela is starting to decline, just like Christy did in the third movie, and is actually similar to Wyatt Hunter in the fourth movie. Emily continues that she didn't want to believe it, but she thinks Ryan is right. There's something in the house. A moment later, Emily is talking to Leela, telling her that she needs her to tell her that she's going to stop talking to Toby. Leela is not responding, she's just ignoring her. So Ryan tells Leela to look at her mother. Emily asks if she could look her in her face. Leela answers that Toby is her friend. Ryan tells her that Toby is not her friend and they don't want her talking to him anymore, demanding her to promise that she's going to stop talking to Toby. She eventually does promise. In the next scene, Brian explains the tapes start in '88. Lots of Katie and Christy stuff, and then they're living with their mom. He adds that he hasn't seen or he hasn't gone through the tapes, but the footage suddenly jumps, and everything is real different. Mike asks if there's anything in between, and Brian answers no and adds the mom and her boyfriend, they are completely absent in the footage, and not on any of the tapes. Brian goes into detail explaining that this weird cult is taking care of these girls now. By now, we know this cult is actually a coven, a coven of which is called the Midwives. The coven we we saw first in the conclusion of the fourth film, and it was explored in the marked ones, and their symbol has been shown since the third film. Okay, back to Ryan telling Mike that the girls were calling another woman mom on the footage. They're watching is Kent talking to Christy in their bedroom from the third movie. She tells Kent that she had more dreams. It's just that she had another mom, and then the mom fell down the stairs. This is also a callback to the conclusion of Paranormal Activity 3 when Julie was basically floating at the top of the stairs at Lois' house, and as Dennis was walking up the steps, her body was thrown at him, and they both tumbled down the stairs. We never saw Julie directly die. She was already dead when she was floating. As they continue to watch the footage, they see Lois telling Christy that Toby says she's on her way, she's progressing nicely. My question is, what does all that mean? Ryan doesn't know, but Kent is their leader, and it's like he's preparing the girls for something. Kent tells Christy that she'll make them so proud, and Lois comments that Toby needs her and they're getting close. In the next scene, we get our text that our text that says December 15th, 2013, night 4 at 1.22 a.m. Mike asks Ryan if he's still watching the tapes, and obviously he is. He just wants to see if there's like a connection. Mike questions if they watched the footage the other night, but Ryan tells him, No, it's a different night, but she's doing the same thing. They literally do it and do it every night. It's like a ritual. It's not a normal home video, it's like some sort of training. Kent asks if he's showing her, but she's not sure. It's too blurry. Kent comments, just let him show her what he sees. Let him guide her. Christy responds that she thinks she sees food. She's pretty sure it's food. Ryan looks down at his food as Christy comments, is just so messy and blurry. She thinks she sees TVs. She sees a lot of TVs. Ryan tells Mike that he thinks she's seeing this room as we speak. Mike questions how that's even possible. Christy tells Kent that she sees toys, and Mike looks at the shelf. Of toys. Christy's Christy sees bunches of toys. She sees people, brothers. She's pretty sure she thinks they're brothers. And she thinks they're watching her. Kent instructs her to stay with him. Only he can do this, only he can be there. And you can see Christy is visibly struck. Suddenly, Mike, Ryan, and even Christy are all startled when Leela pops up to tell Ryan that she can't sleep. Yes, I said Christy, he was startled, and you're probably wondering how was she startled and she's not even in the room, but you'll see in a second. Ryan picks her up asking what she's doing awake, asking her what's going on, so she tells him that he's making too much noise. As she's saying this, she sneezes and Christy says, Bless you. Mike notices that and kind of calls it out. The next day, Mike shows Emily and Skylar the footage from the night before and shows them the sneeze and it immediately catches their attention. So Mike blew it up and zoomed and zoomed in on Christy's face while she says bless you. Mike is certain they are watching them. I have a theory that Toby has been there the entire time, even when he's not the black mask. He's still there, and I say that because this entire this entire time Ken has been saying, let him, Toby, show you what he sees. So Christy is seeing what Toby sees, that's how she knows. Mike comments that he knows these tapes are from 20 years ago, but they can see what's happening. They can see what's happening there with them as well as Leela. In the following scene, the cameras are cycling through each room, but when it's in the hallway, you can hear Leela talking and she's asking, There's a door? Really? Where's it go? And I can go there? All I have to do is draw it? We see Leela grab something off of her dresser and starts writing on the wall. In a quick cut, we see Leela has drawn symbols above her bed in the shape of a door. Emily and Ryan are asking what uh what are all the symbols are, but Ryan comments that he doesn't think that just scribbles. He thinks that there's a pattern to it. Some of the symbols look familiar and he knows he's seen that stuff before. A moment later, Ryan tells Emily that the symbols on Leela's wall they're on the tapes too, and they're also in the girls' room. He shows Emily the triangle with the circle, and he tells her that it's used by a coven called the Midwives. She asks Ryan if he means like witches. Ryan continues to explain that the midwives go all the way back to the Middle Ages. They were into devil worship. They would use symbols like those on the on the door. These are doorways to different places at different times. That was introduced in the Mark ones. When Jesse took the took the journal from Anna's house after Oscar killed her, in the journal there was a picture of a door. Jesse explained that you can only go to unholy places. Hector went through the door and ended up at Christy and Mika's house the night before Katie well the night the night Katie stabbed Mika to death as a matter of fact. While in discussion, they hear a loud whistling in the distance. Unable to identify it, Ryan and Emily go to check it out, commenting that it sounds like it's coming from Leela's room. Once in her room, Leela is standing in front of the window, blowing the flute light, well it's actually a recorder. Ryan tells Emily that there's something coming from the recorder. Emily manages to get the recorder from her, but she's trying to catch her breath as she hyperventilates. But while that is going on, we can see the black substance coming from her mouth. Ryan only sees it because of the camera. As they work to calm her down, Emily gets Emily puts her back inside her bed, and Emily asks her what was she doing, and Leela answers that he's going to take her away. Emily questions who's going to take you away repeatedly until a bang is Emily slowly approaches the window and opens the curtains cautiously. And all seems well until she turns around saying that there's nothing there, and then all of a sudden, a black mask rushes from behind the curtains, sending them into a panic. Ryan yells for Emily to grab Leela as they exit the room. The screen cuts to black. The next morning, Emily is making calls in search of a pastor or a priest. She explains that Leela has been acting strange and things have just been starting to happen more and more, and they really don't know what else to do. We then see Emily setting up a nativity scene. Leela picks up the Virgin Mary and tells Emily that she's going to have a special baby, and Emily responds that that's right. She also asks if if Leela remembers them coming into her room last night when she was on her recorder, but she doesn't. Emily continues explaining that they came in her room and put her back to bed. She said he's going to take her away, and she asks, Who's going to take her away? Does she mean Toby? And at this point, Leela is just unresponsive, so Emily asks if she would please answer her, and instead of answering her, she grabs one of the statues and starts pounding away at the table until Emily stops her. Emily asks her, Where is he going to take her? and Leela answers to be with the others. A brief moment later, a priest arrives. Ryan starts to explain. The camera picks up stuff that none of the other cameras can see. The priest confirms that they are sure nothing unusual was happening in the house before they started it, started to use it, and they both Ryan asks that he seen this camera on the tapes from 20 years ago, and it's like they were using the camera to see the same thing. Ryan continues explaining how it started off small, so then he thought it was just a camera glitch. Father Todd, which is the priest, asks if it's getting darker when you see it through the camera, and Ryan responds, Yes, it's bigger, like it's growing. He shows Father Todd the footage of the dark figure rushing past them from behind the curtain, and Father Todd questions if they ever experienced anything like this before or anywhere else. They both respond no. Ryan then shows him footage of Katie and Chrissy as children playing Bloody Mary, the same game that Lela was playing the other night. Commenting that they would tape themselves during doing weird rituals on the footage, Lois tells the girls that they're doing so well, Toby is going to be so proud of them. So Father Todd asks if they think that this is the Toby Lela speaks of, and they answer yeah. So he asks if she's used or said any other names besides Toby, to which they answer no, and Emily asks why. So he responds that sometimes spirits will tend to have their own identities, their true nature, they'll use another name. He asks from what they describe, from what he knows, which is very little, it sounds as if their daughter may be being stalked by a demon or demonic presence. Emily Emily immediately comments that if this is happening, that they should go, and Ryan agrees. And he also thinks that they should get out now. And at this point, Emily is starting to panic that and saying Father Todd goes on to say, demons do not haunt houses, they haunt people, so if they leave the house, it will definitely follow them. This makes me think of the first paranormal activity when Katie's friend Amber tells her that she can come stay with her, and Katie's response was it's her, not the house. And also on the first insidious, when Elise tells Josh say, It's not the house that's haunted, it's Dalton. Anyway, father tells them demons feed on fear. The more attention you give, the stronger it grows, the bigger it grows. You run away, it follows. Ryan comments that they can't just ignore what's happening in the house. Father Todd asks if he can speak with Leela. Emily tells Leela that they have a guest while Father Todd looks around the room and points out a name written on her chalkboard. The name is written Hunter. Father Todd asks if that name's that if that name means anything to them, and Ryan responds no. Why? Should it? And Father Todd doesn't respond. He instead redirects his attention to Leela, whose now come out of her tent. Leela's sitting on her bed and is holding a stuffed teddy bear. Father Todd asks if it's her friend and does her friend have a name? She doesn't respond or acknowledge it, but Father Todd, trying to lighten the mood, tells her they let him guess. He comes up with the name Griselda. While he does that, he's pulling out a small case and within the case we see a small tube of holy water. As he continues playing along and tells Leela that he looks like he's hot and if he can give Bubba a little bath and proceeds to bless the bear by putting holy water on his forehead and rubbing it in the symbol of a cross. So then Father Todd asks if he can give her a little water on her head to make her feel cool. He asks her, What is her and Bubba gonna do today? And she smiles, and it's not one of those normal I'm happy smiles, it's one of those sinister I'm plotting to fuck you up kind of smile. It looks forced. As the camera zooms in, Leela suddenly lunges at Father Todd and attacks him. Shortly after, Emily walks Father Todd to the door while apologizing and telling him that this is nothing like her. He assures her that it's fine, he's alright, he just wants them to take care of Leela. He'll be back soon, so stay calm and stay relaxed. Ryan whispers under his breath, and she bit a fucking priest in the s Ryan tells Mike that after what Father Todd said, he went back and did more research. He found a tape that was in the camera that he originally thought was blank. Mike comments on the video that that's your house, and Ryan tells him to look at the date. It's three days before they moved in. As they watch it, there's the voice of a man saying that he's very happy with this house, it is a good house for him. Ryan thinks it's the leader guy talking, Kent. The man continues saying that this is a good space and they've done a wonderful job. Mike comments that the voice of the man is talking about the house, that's all it is, until the voice says, very good entry point. And here, Ryan responds, No, he said entry point. The fact that they moved into that specific house of all the houses that they looked at, it just doesn't seem like a coincidence to him. A moment later, Ryan is on the phone spelling the last name of somebody. Then he says, Katie Hubbard. That's what he was trying to say, followed by that's impossible because he's looking at her card and their number is on the card. Ryan tells Emily they're saying that they've never heard of her. She never worked for them, so Emily looks through the paperwork while Ryan explains that they weren't even looking in this neighborhood and looking at that house, and that they thought the deal was too good to be true. Ryan questions where did she come from and how did Emily meet her? He called the agency today, and they have no record that she ever worked there. Nobody had even heard of her, and he comments, what if someone placed them there on purpose, if somebody conspired for them to be in the house? Emily asks if that could be possible, and Ryan responds, Where did she come from? Now we know since Katie was only mentioned and not seen in this, and this is where she's mentioned. Obviously, her last name's not Hubbard, but you know, whatever. Um, but at the same time, it didn't make much sense for her to even be in this one. So it's kind of good that they left her out because at this point, Katie's already had like her character art. Like, she's done everything that she could do. So what else was there left for her to do? Like, she's pretty much killed everybody. She killed Miga, she killed Daniel, Christy, Ben, Holly, Alex, and Doug. She kidnapped Hunter. So what what else was there left for her to do? Not much of anything. Emily sets up the bed in Leela's room and tells Ryan to wake her if anything happens. It's been a while, but we finally get another text that reads December 17th, 2013, night six, three oh two AM. The cameras cycle through each area, and in the hallway across from Leela's room, the dark presence appears next to it, and it kind of swiftly flies by knocking the camera over. Ryan sees that the camera is knocked over. Ryan wakes Emily and asks if she heard that because something knocked the camera over in the hallway, but she didn't hear it. Ryan checks under Leela's bed and it's clear, but when he lifts his head up, Leela is sitting up wide awake. They lay her back down and Leela looks at Emily and tells her, Don't be scared. Suddenly, one of her toys turns on and Emily rushes to turn it off. Mike calls out to Ryan asking what's going on and asks if he sees anything. Ryan and Mike look around, but suddenly Ryan tells Mike not to move. He thinks he sees something, encouraging him to stay calm, telling him, Remember what Father Todd what Father Todd said. The dark presence is right behind him as Mike's fear and anxiety slowly growing, and out of nowhere, Mike runs off screaming. Mike whispers to Ryan that he felt something on his neck. Nervously the two look around. Something falls over by the front door. The presence appears next to the Christmas tree. Emily calls out to Ryan, asking what where what is it and what's going on if he sees it. He aims the camera upstairs and when he pans back to the tree, the dark presence charges at them. So Ryan and Mike run into the kitchen. Mike asks, What does he see? But Ryan can't see anything. Mike scared, shitless, comments, fuck me. Ryan, next time I'm just gonna stay at mom's. At this point, the presence, Toby, whatever, is in the kitchen with them and he's just fucking with them on purpose. Mike asks, Where is it? And Ryan answers that it's in the doorway to the kitchen. Ryan peeks around the corner only to see that Z it, Toby, whatever, came through the doorway and then and is now in the room with them. In a moment of deja vu, while looking around in the kitchen, all of a sudden all the cabinets and drawers explode open at the same time, like it did in Paranormal Activity 2. You can hear the fright in Mike's voice. He comments, What the fuck? What the fuck was that? What the fuck is wrong with this house? We cut to the next day, we see Ryan and Mike preparing to head out. Ryan tells Emily that Skylar will be home soon, and him and Mike will be as quick as possible and to stay with Leela. Leela is playing, and Emily comes into her room and tells Leela for them to go downstairs and play. They have games and everything else that they can play downstairs. Leela tells her that she's fine there. So Emily changes it, asking, How about her and Leela get um yeah, how about her and Leela get out of the house? They can go outside, they can go play on the seesaw, her favorite thing. Leela comments, this is where she wants to be now. Emily, being persistent, tells her, let's go downstairs, they can play down there. And Leela responds, I said I'm fine. Meanwhile, in the hallway, Toby is making his appearance, the hallway is starting to get dark. Emily is still trying to get Leela out of the room, telling her that she doesn't really want to be in the room, so let's go downstairs. To which Lee Leela repeats herself. She said she's fine. In an attempt to stand her ground, saying that's enough, they're going downstairs right now. Leela looks over at the doorway, smiles, and laughs, and then looks at Emily and repeats it again. She's fine. Emily, you might want to chill out. Toby go tear your ass up. And the next scene we see Ryan looking through the tapes in search of a particular tape, but he hands Skylar a missing child poster that he found down at the police station and it's Hunter. Skylar points out that Leela and Hunter have the same birthday. Skylar comments that it has to be a coincidence, but Ryan responds that it's one hell of a coincidence. June 6, 2005, Christy's son is born on the same exact day as Leela. Skylar questions if they found him yet, and Mike answers no. But Katie is his aunt and she killed Christy and the dad. They even think she killed this family in Nevada, Paranormal Activity 4. Police have been looking for her for years. Ryan finally finds the tape that he was looking for, he puts it in and points out Hunter is there. He hosts the missing child poster up next to the screen and confirms that that's definitely Hunter. However, the tape is from 1992. Mike comments that the kid wasn't even born yet, so how did he get there? And Ryan can't explain it, but all he knows is Leela and Hunter have the same exact birthday. What if that's where Toby's going to take Leela? On the next scene, we see Ryan putting back the camera in Leela's room and telling Emily that they need to keep an eye on her. Father Todd said he'll come back and help. Emily and Ryan head to bed shortly after. We see the text that reads December 18th, 2013, night seven at 2 14 a.m. As the cameras do their usual cycle through each room and everyone is asleep, but in Leela's room, she's woken up to the sound of like like cracking above her head, um, or above the head of her bed, sorry, where she drew the symbols, that's where it's coming from. Now standing on her bed, Leela stares into the newly created portal and a boy calls out to Leela, telling her to come play with him. As she walks into the portal, we see time accelerates before stopping at 3:37 a.m. Suddenly, some sort of shockwave or burst of energy is sent through the portal and it knocks over one of the cameras. The power is knocked out, leaving the house in pitch black darkness. Ryan and Emily frantically search for Leela. Ryan calls out to Leela and Emily asks, Where is she? Mike calls out to Ryan, asking what's going on, so he responds that they can't find Leela. A sound draws them to Leela's room where they find her sitting on her bed. They also ask her where she was and if she's okay, and she simply answers, She's gonna bring him, she's gonna set him free. The power is now restored, and everyone in fear and panic have bags packed as they try to flee. Leela starts fighting Emily and arguing that she's not going. Emily responds that let's go, we're leaving right now, and Leela is yelling that she's not going repeatedly, but not before the scene cuts to black. In the following scene, we see Mike and Skylar entering the home. Skylar asks if he sees anything, and he answers that it's clear. Skylar tells him, Let's make this quick, asking Mike, she's not crazy, right? It feels different in there. It doesn't feel as bad, and Mike agrees, yeah, it does. It feels like a different place, questioning if they should call them at the hotel, but she answers no, let them sleep. She bets they're exhausted. Mike reminds her to grab a jacket for Leela. Mike looks around in search of anything unusual, but notice a crack in the wall above her bed and asks if that happened last night, but she doesn't remember seeing it before. Skylar finds pictures that Leela drew and it's disturbing. So Skylar comments, let's get the fuck out of there. But before leaving, Skylar stops and checks out Rand's research, and on one of the pictures, it resembles the picture that Lila Leela drew. It's like the goat with like multiple eyes. And Skylar agrees that it looks like it, commenting Revelations chapter 5, verse 6. The slain lamb will be used against God, for the blood of the chosen ones will taint it and help give life to one of the seven princes of hell. Each prince shall return through the blood of the two born of the same moon. And Skylar comments that's Leela and Hunter, that it's their blood. What if the witches are using them to give to start some sort of ritual to give Toby a human body? Mike questions, what does that mean? But before they can do anything else, a noise is heard and it gets their attention. As they walk around searching the house, they discover the front door wide open. Skylar questions if he locked it and he confirms that he did. Continuing to search, they hear noise in Leela's room, and as they approach, they open the door slowly, and then they see Leela standing on her bed scratching at the crack on the wall that they found earlier. Skylar and Mike try to get her to stop clawing the wall. Skylar pulls her away from the wall, asking where's her mom and where's her dad. She sits catatonic, but then suddenly Leela responds, I am the bringer of he. Skylar asks, Who is he? She gives no response but attempts to attempts to charge at the wall to continue scratching. We cut to Father Todd asking to see Leela's hands, asking Emily and Ryan, Ryan if Leela just showed up there at home. Ryan answers, yeah, they were at the hotel six miles away, adding that they went to sleep for two minutes. He has no idea how she got there. She was just gone. Father Todd asks to speak with them in the kitchen, and Father Todd explains that he's spoken to someone outside of the church. There is only one way to save their daughter, but he has serious reservations about what they proposed. Ryan comments that he is the only one who believes them, pleading for him to help, and if they don't, they're going to end up like Hunter Ray and his family. Father Todd explains that an exorcism is a remedy for someone who's possessed. He does not think that that's what's happening right now. Emily and Ryan ask, What do they need? And Father Todd responds, they need to do an extermination. In a quick cut, we see Father Todd running a bath water and asking Emily for white sheets, and he explains that they need to soak those sheets in holy water. It'll subdue the demon and protect them against him. He comments telling Ryan, telling him that his daughter was born on June 6, 2005. It's the sixth day of the sixth month of the sixth year. You're probably asking how so, but I'll break it down for you. Year 2000 is year one. 2001 is year two, two thousand two is year three, two thousand three is year four, two thousand four is year five, and two thousand five is year six. Father Todd adds that he believes this is no coincidence. She's part of the prophecy. The witches on those tape, the midwives, their job is to give demons life to allow them to walk the earth. They targeted Leela to help them do so, asking them if they understand how serious this is. They need to trap this thing using Leela as bait. Downstairs they draw the key of Solomon. Once the demon is lower inside of the trap, they're going to cover it with the sheets and burn it back to hell. He prays over the holy water, saying, Almighty, in the blessing of the Father, Almighty be upon this creature of salt, and let the malignity and hindrance be cast forth. Hence, and let all good enter in the name of the Holy Spirit, Amen. Everyone is prepping the area, and as they go along the room, everything starts to Shake. Father Todd continues to pray over the room. Emily starts to panic, and Father Todd tells her to go get Leela. It's time. He instructs everyone to get in the circle, and as he prays over Leela, suddenly Leela opens her eyes, revealing nothing but darkness. Ryan asks what happened to her ass, questioning why are they black? Emily shouts out what's happening to her. Leela comments, he knows what you're doing, and then the power goes out. In pure chaos, everyone is in a panic, fright, and fear. Ryan turns on the night vision looking around, only to discover Father Todd isn't there. Once he locates him as he stands there, he suddenly pulled into the darkness, grabbed out of nowhere by his neck. Furniture then is flying around, knocking everybody down. Ryan demanding that everyone needs to get back to the circle. Ryan can see a shape starting to form, and when it lunges at them, now they have it trapped in a circle. Ryan yells for Mike to grab the sheets, and once they do, they cover the demon. It is struggling trying to break free. Emily tells them that they have to finish it, asking for the Bible. She reads off of a prayer, and finally the demon is gone. Leela seems to have returned to normal, and looking around to check on everybody, Skylar is standing there countercatatonic, appearing to be choking, and as Mike approaches her, she vomits on Mike's face, burning it like acid. In the midst of the continued chaos, Leela runs upstairs. Emily follows behind her as well as Ryan. Once upstairs, they continue chasing after Leela, but suddenly a hand bursts through Ryan's chest and then pulls him into the darkness. Emily runs into Leela's room, but she can't find her until she notices the portable portal above her bed. She steps into it and the camera starts to appear glitchy and staticky. When she reaches the other side, she's suddenly in Katie and Christie's room from the third film, obviously before it burnt down. Everything is covered with white sheets, so she's calling out for Leela but can only hear her laughing. While searching for her, she sees Leela running along the wall and then she jumps down and just goes through the floor. She turns the corner only to see a girl standing at the end of the hallway telling her that she's too late. The darkness is coming. Continuing to hear her laughter, she lights the lights go out and she turns on the night vision and she's greeted by Katie as a kid, telling her that she's too late. It's done. He's real now. Emily demands Katie tell her where Leela is repeatedly. Suddenly a door behind her slams shut, so she turns to see that, but when she turns to look back, Katie and Christy are gone. Followed by children's laughter, as she continues her search, she calls out for Leela but gets no response. Emily finds a puddle of blood that's coming from the ceiling. While looking at the ceiling, she hears a large crash behind her. Soon after, she runs into Leela. Emily hugs her, asking her if she's okay, and Leela answers that she's okay. They only needed a drop of her blood. Emily asks where, and she begins to search her hands and what do they do to her? She finds it. Leela tells her that he is alive now. He's real just like you and me. Emily asks, What is she talking about? What do they do to her? She soon afterwards is distracted by a crash in the background. Emily now puts Leela behind her, suddenly a paraleg step in front of the camera. Emily urges uh urges Toby to stay away from them while pushing Leela off to go run. Emily tells Toby he's gotten what he wanted and just to please leave them alone. Toby caresses her face, but then he grabs her by her throat and picks her up and breaks her neck, and then he throws her lifeless body at the camera. Leela then says, Hi Toby, grabs his hand, and the two walk past the camera, and the camera continues recording the eerie silence, but before the screen cuts off, the movie ends. Alright, folks, that's it. That's your paranormal activity, the ghost dimension, the sixth film and the franchise, and this closes off the Katie, Christy, Hunter, and Toby saga as the seventh one has no connection and is basically a standalone entry.
