Five strangers' day begins with an elevator ride in a Philadelphia office tower. But what happens next is anything but ordinary. The elevator gets stuck and the trapped passengers who only expected to be together for a few minutes now face the revelation of their secrets, transgressions and dark past. Frightening events turn annoyance into terror as they begin to realize one of their own is the Devil himself.
Hey, what's up, everybody? How's it going? How are you? How was your Thanksgiving weekend? Did you enjoy yourself spending any time with the fam or even do some Black Friday shopping? As we all know, Stranger Things season 5 kicked off, and the first four episodes did not disappoint. I don't know if you're a fan or follow the series, but I'll be up front with you. Those four episodes was damn good. They didn't waste any time, they jumped right into it. I won't spoil it in case you haven't caught up yet, but what are you doing? Stop procrastinating, go check that out. Before we get into anything else, let's get into your weekly horror updates. And the first order of business is Scarlett Johansson will play the lead role in Mike Flanagan's new take on The Exorcist for Universal Pictures. The film will not be connected to David Gordon Green's The Exorcist Believer, but it will instead tell an all-new original story. Flanagan said that this is an opportunity to do something that he believes has never been done within the franchise. Something that honors what came before it, but isn't built on nostalgia. He just saw an opportunity to make the scariest movie he's ever made and jumped right on it. Also, in other news, The Strangers Chapter 3, the third entry of the trilogy ends on February 6th, and that's when it will be released. Um oh, and also um I just saw recently that um on Mac Flanagan's Exorcist, I actually saw that Jenna Ortega has also signed on to appear in the film as well. So we'll definitely keep an eye out for that. But besides that, there aren't many major updates left to uh report. So with that being said, welcome back to Chills Thrills and a podcast, your horror community podcast, where we review, analyze, and break down all things horror. I decided to change things up this episode because the first 13 episodes have been nothing but paranormal, evil, spirit, or possession based. So I decided to go ahead and just kick off a new category, and we are going to be covering what I and many others consider to be not only a cult classic but an iconic film as well, and that's going to be The Lost Boys from 1987. The Lost Boys is considered a horror comedy, and it was directed by Joel Schumacher, and it includes an all-star cast. We have Jason Patrick as Michael, and Jason Patrick is actually he's the son of the priest from the original Exorcist. Um, but we also have Corey Haim as Sam, Diane Weist as Lucy, Bernard Hughes as grandpa, Kiefer Sutherland as David, and we all know he's the son of um what's his name? Don Donald Sutherland, yeah, that's it. Um Alex Winter is Marco, Brooke McCarter as Paul, Billy Wirth as Dwayne, and Edward Herman as Max, Jamie Gertz as Star, Corey Feltman as Egar Frog, and Jamison Newlander appears as Allen Frog. The screenwriters Janice Fisher and James Deremeyer, who pinned the script, it was actually purchased for $400,000 and turned into what we see. Joel Schumacher took over directing from Richard Donner and took it from a vampire-themed Goonies, another great classic, to a 1980s classic. Mentioning the Goonies, Corey Feldman was actually in the Goonies as well. He played a character by the name of Mouth. Jason Patrick didn't originally want to even be in a vampire movie until Schumacher promised creative freedom. Jamie Gertz was given the role of star after Jason Patrick was insistent that she would be perfect for the role, having worked with her on a movie previously called Solar Babies. Kiefer Sutherland was also reluctant to join the cast until he heard Inxis and Jimmy Barnes would be on the soundtrack, and since they made some of his favorite music, he decided to join the cast. However, after an accident while doing a Willie on his motorcycle trying to show off, Kiefer Sutherland broke his wrist, so the costume department had actually fitted him with gloves to help hide the injury as well as the cast. The fictional town of Santa Carla was mainly filmed in Santa Cruz, and the nickname at the time was Murder Capital of the Well of the World. That was based on reality. Three separate killers, John Fraser, Herbert Mullen, and Ed Kemper had murdered 28 people in the span of 30 months. Jordan Pill, his film Us, makes a reference to The Lost Boys. While walking on the boardwalk, one of the characters mentions that they're filming a movie on the carousel, and which we know that's the opening scene where we originally meet David and the rest of The Lost Boys. Tim Capelo performed the cover of The Cause, I Still Believe, for the soundtrack and as well as the Boardwalk concert that he actually still performs to this day. The theme song Cry Little Sister, written by Gerard McMahon, was created specifically for the movie and the soundtrack as well. The Frog brothers, Edgar and Alan, are named after Edgar Alan Poe, and we all know who he is. While filming, Corey Feldman, at one point, he was actually fired from the film because during shooting he arrived on set under the influence of cocaine. He later apologized and Schumacher decided to let him come back. When David's hand is pulled into the light from the sun during part of the climax, we see him tear up out of one eye, and that's because Kiefer Sutherland's contacts were irritating his ass. And that part was not scripted, but they also decided to keep it in the film for realism. Starr is also the only vampire of the cast who we don't see in vampire form. The vampire blood that they used in the movie was shiny because they decided to mix and glitter to give it a better effect. So also the term vampout, which was first used in this film, it would be commonly used in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the TV series. Michael was one of the most used words within the script, with the toll of it being said 118 times. The train bridge scene was filmed on the Iron Head Trailhead Trestle Bridge, 40 miles north of Los Angeles, off of Interstate 5 on the Magic Mountain Parkway. There's now a pedestrian walkway, so fans of the movie can experience the bridge for themselves. There are several posters found throughout the film that were randomly placed, but they all had their own meaning. The Doors poster in the vampire lair, the Doors released the original song People Are Strange. And then on the second poster, Echoing the Bunny Man poster that's in Sam's room is the band that covered People Are Strange for this movie. The Rob Lowe poster on Sam's Closet is due to Schumacher had just directed him on a movie called St. Elmo's Fire. There was a severe earthquake in 1989 that actually destroyed several landmarks from the film, and the original comic book shop and the stage where the band plays near the beginning of the film no longer exists. However, by the 1990s, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman became the duo called The Coreys because of their various films that they started together, with The Lost Boys being the first film. During filming, The Lost Boys only had a budget of 8.5 million and it went on to gross 32.2 million. Every summer, there's The Lost Boys is shown on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk as part of their free summer movie series. Because of its longstanding success, it spawned two sequels: The Trap in 2008 and The Thirst in 2010. The Frog Brothers appear in both, and Kiefer Sutherland's younger brother, Angus Sutherland, starred in The Trab. There was originally supposed to be a sequel called The Lost Girls, but it was never made. And even to this day, the Lost Boys currently has a Rotten Tomato rating of 75% and an audience score of 85%. So that's damn near perfect score for the movie. So um a new Lost Boys movie was actually announced in 2021 and was described as a reimagining of the original film and not a sequel. Now that we're done with that, but before we get started, you know what time it is. If you have not seen this classic, this is where you pause this episode and please go watch this beautiful masterpiece. Come back for the breakdown. So, with that being said, we have a movie to unpack. So if you are ready, let's unpack and get into it. The Lost Boys kicks off with a nighttime aerial view of the ocean leading to the sandy beach front of the Santa Carla Beach. While we hear Cry Little Sister by Gerard McMahon, we will actually hear this throughout the progression of the film because, like I said, it was created specifically for the soundtrack. As the camera moves across the water, we're shown the title card, The Lost Boys. As it moves towards the carousel, we see our Lost Boys led by David, followed by Duane, Paul, and Marco. They're walking between the rads. So while walking, David sets his eyes on a young woman, but as soon as he moves in to crest her face, her boyfriend takes notice of this and charges towards them. And when David sees this, he sees this as he's walking away. So he actually comes back to, you know, get his guys. So he's basically stiff-arming the boyfriend. But it's soon broken up when a security guard pulls David back by using his baton, restraining him. The security guard tells David and company that he told them to stay off of the boardwalk. He releases David and watches him walk away, but David is staring him down. He hasn't noticed because the guard has now shifted his attention to the other group, telling them that they have to leave as well. Later on, we see the boardwalk is closing down, lights are being shut off, and it's already empty. There's nobody there. So at that point, we see the security guard walking through the parking lot approaching his vehicle. However, a noise catches his attention, so when he turns around, he sees that he's actually being pursued. He screams and immediately starts running towards his car, but by the time he reaches it, it's too late because he's struggling to open the door, and he's then lifted into the air and the car door is ripped off of the vehicle. His screams fade and then the scene fades to black and ends. We cut to the next scene, we hear a song playing on the radio, and someone says, Keep going. We then hear a woman ask, How about this? But then just keep cycling through radio stations. Inside, we meet Lucy and her two sons, Michael and Sam. While driving, they pass a sign that says, Welcome to Santa Carla, but on the back of it it says Murder Capital of the World, which again at that time it was because 28 people had been killed by three people in a span of three months. While seeing the sign, Sam picks up on a bad smell and asks what that smell is, so Lucy tells him that it's just the ocean air, and he responds that it smells like someone died. Lucy mentions that she knows that last year hasn't been easy, but she thinks they'll like living in Santa Carla. As they continue, we hear we hear the song People Are Strange by Echo and the Bunny Man, and at that time we see various people just living everyday life. It's a beach, but it's kind of ironic because the song is playing while we see a lot of people, and a lot of those people do kind of look strange. We do take notice that there are a lot of missing purses posted scattered around the area, though. We then see Sam is running around with his dog, and as Lucy's looking around, she sees two people digging in a dumpster pulling out food. So then she gives money to Sam, telling him to give it to them. Michael is asking around if there's any jobs out there, and a guy tells him that there's nothing legal. We then see Michael unloading his motorcycle, and um we see that they're near the boardwalk because there's a lot of people out there on rides eating kind of candy, basic boardwalk activity. The beach is crowded, but there's also more missing person persons posters being put up. We finally see them arriving at a house, and as they park and get out of the car, we see an older man laying on the ground. Lucy now concerned, she walks up and calls out to him, and this is going to be Lucy's dad, obviously the grandfather. This house, we know it as grandpa's house, but it's actually called the Poggo Nip Club House, and to this day it's actually still there. It's boarded up and it has a fence around it, but it's also a tourist location, which is why it's probably still there. Um you can't drive to it, but you can walk up to it. I've seen pictures, some people I have actually gotten inside and taken pictures. Um I actually want to go see it for myself, seeing as though like this movie is one of my favorites. Michael comments that he looks like he's dead, and Lucy tells him that no, he's just a deep sleeper. So, of course, Sam asks Lucy that if he's dead, can they go back to Phoenix? And she kind of just glares at him. Finally, he sets up saying that he's playing dead, and from what he's hearing, he's doing a damn good job of it. Lucy hugs him while Michael and Sam just stare at each other. So like, was he just laying there waiting, or did he know what time they were coming? Or what? Because I mean this film's from 1987, so cell phones weren't really a thing at this time, so they couldn't tell him, like, hey, we're here. Now inside the house, Mike comments that it's a nice house, but Sam isn't feeling it. He responds, yeah, for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Sam is complaining, asking what's wrong with this picture. There's no TV, and when there's no TV, that means there's no MTV. Yes, MTV was music video based. There weren't really too many shows on it. They didn't start sheep TV shows probably till like the mid to late 90s, maybe even early 2000s. But now you fast forward to today, there's no music videos, there's nothing but shows. Some some shows came and went. The only show that really stood the test of time that I know of was Ridiculousness. And I only know this because they actually just finally cancelled it. So it ran from 2011 until now, two 2025, where they officially cancelled it. Michael reminds Sam that their flat broke. Outside, grandpa tells Lucy that she's the only woman he knows that didn't improve her situation by getting divorced. So she responds telling him that a big legal battle wouldn't improve anybody's situation. We then see Michael chasing Sam down the stairs and like jumping over the handrail before stopping at a set of doors. That leads into another room, and when Sam opens the doors, there's like stuffed animals, real animals, not like stuffed animals in terms of teddy bears, like actually real animals stuffed. Um, and then we learned uh that's basically grandpa's workspace because he actually uh does taxidermis or taxidermy, sorry. And in case you don't know, taxidermy is the art of preserving an animal's body by mounting or stuffing for the purpose of display or studying. I just don't know at 2025 if that's still a thing anymore. Michael comments talk about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Grandpa pops up and tells them that they've got some rules around there. He points out that the second shelf on the fridge is his, nobody touches it but him. Before walking away, Michael points out a weed plant in the window, and it would make sense because grandpa looks like a hippie to begin with. He looks like um, I can't even think of his name, so on the sip of my tongue, but I can't figure it out. I have to come back to that. Michael asks him if Santa Carla is the murder capital of the world, so he tells them that there are some bad elements around. So Sam asks for confirmation that they move to the murder capital of the world, and Grandpa answers that if all the corpses buried around stood up at once, they'd have one hell of a population problem. Grandpa continues with the rules, telling them that on Wednesdays, when the mailman brings the TV guide, sometimes the label is curled up, but don't try to tear it off because you only rip the cover. Ending it telling them to stay out of his workroom. But before he can close the door, Sam asks if he has a TV, and he answers, No. He just likes to read the TV guide. Read the TV guide, you don't need a TV. And then he shuts the door. In the next scene, it's nighttime, and on the beach, there's a concert going on, and on stage, we see a shirtless greased-up guy playing the saxophone and singing, I still believe. This guy's gonna be Tim Capello, and even to this day, he still performs this song on the boardwalk. As he's performing, we see a young woman with a child working their way through the crowd, and Michael instantly notices her and locks his eyes on her. She makes it up top and starts dancing, and Michael absolutely cannot keep his eyes off of her. Sam notices this and even tries to move his face elsewhere, but she then sees it. Because now that his face is not facing her, he's kind of like looking at her like from the corner of his eyes, not trying to like directly look at her. She tries to ignore it and keep dancing, but eventually, I guess she gets weirded out and just leaves. So naturally, he follows after her like a stalker, dragging Sam along. We cut to Lucy walking on the boardwalk, and she sees a woman putting up a mercy missing person's poster, and we, the audience, recognize the person on the poster because it's the security guard from the beginning of the film. Lucy sees a help wanted sign that says see manager, but her attention is immediately redirected when she hears a kid calling out for his mother. So we know that he's lost, he got separated from his mother, so Lucy takes him to a nearby video store, but David and company walk into the store. Max has a dog with him that instantly starts growling at them. Lucy walks in telling the manager that this little boy is lost, but luckily his mother walks in. The manager hands him a lollipop before he leaves with his mother, and he goes to hand Lucy one, but initially she declines it before finally accepting it. Are they banned from everywhere on a boardwalk? That's crazy. David smiles as they walk out. The manager comments, Wild Kids, and Lucy responds that they're just young. They were that age once too. They just dress better. So he admires her generous nature, introducing himself as Max, while she introduces herself as Lucy, and he points out his dog Thorne, telling Thor to say hi, jokingly obvious. Max adds that he provides the best selection of video tapes in Santa Carla. Lucy tells him that she doesn't need a tape, what she needs, and before she can finish, he comments, a job. We cut to Star walking through the crowds with the little boy we saw her with earlier, and Michael at this point is following her. So Sam asks where they're going, and he answers nowhere. But Sam knows that he's chasing that girl, telling him to admit it he's at the mercy of his sex glance. So Michael asks Sam if he has something better to do. Sam responds, yeah, he actually does, while staring in amazement at a nearby store. So Michael takes that as his cue to continue to go be a stalker. As it turns out, Sam is entering a comic book shop. So while browsing, he notices two dudes just eyeballing him, and he looks behind him, and then there's a man and a woman who appear to be knocked out, sleep, sitting up, but still sleep. He walks around and they start following him, so he asks if they're if there's a problem. Do they have a problem? One of the dudes responds that he's scoping his civilian wardrobe. Sam answers that it's pretty cool, and the other dude tells him, yes, for a fashion victim. He's not wrong. I don't know what the hell he's wearing, but it definitely gives like eight late 80s, early 90s vibes. But again, this came out in 87, so it works. They comment if he's looking for the Diet Frozen Yogurt Bar, it went out of business last summer. But Sam comments that he's actually looking for Batman number 14. They acknowledge that that's a serious book. There's only five in existence. And Sam corrects them saying that it's four. It's four actually. And then he criticizes the orders that they have the comic books arranged. One of them asks where he's from, and Sam tells him that he's from Phoenix, but lucky him because they moved there. We then see the guy and the girl from the carousel at the opening of the entrance to the store getting worked up. Meanwhile, one of the dudes hands him a comic book that reads Vampires Everywhere, and Sam tells him that he doesn't like horror comics. He then tells him that he'll like that, Mr. Phoenix. It could save his life. But then suddenly the guy up front steals some comics and they all run off. So they start chasing after him. And this is going to be the Frog brothers, Edgar and Island. We then see Star and Laddie. I forgot to mention that the little boy's name is Laddie. They approach David and company and get on their motorcycles. While Michael and Sam round the corner and see this, David looks at Michael with a smirk on his face as they ride off. Sam tells him that she stuffed him. In the next scene, the guy and the girl are parked away from the boardwalk reading one of the comic books that he stole from the shop. So while he's well, while she's doing that, he's kissing on her neck. Playfully, basically flirting with her, but then she hears a squeaky noise asking what that was, and she thought she heard something, but he dismisses it, continuing what he was doing. Suddenly, the roof is gripped off of the car, and as the camera zooms in, they begin screaming, being picked up one by one. First the guy, then the girl. The next day, Sam and Grandpa open the garage to reveal his car. He asks Sam how he likes it, telling him, Let's get in it, and Grandpa turns it on. Letting it warm up, he comments, Let's go to town. But then he turns the car off and asks Sam if he's having fun. So Sam comments that he thought they were going into town, and Grandpa tells him that that's as close to town as he likes to get. We then cut to Sam walking inside the comic book shop. So of course, Edgar and Alan take notice and asks him if he's noticed anything unusual about Santa Carla yet, and he responds, no, it's a pretty cool place, if you're a Martian. And Edgar adds, or a vampire. So Sam asks if they've been sniffing old newsprint, and Edgar tells him that he thinks he knows what's happening around town, but he doesn't know shit. Alan tells Sam that he thinks that they work in a comic book store for their folks, and Edgar continues telling Sam that this is just their cover. They're dedicated to a higher purpose. They're fighters for the truth, justice, and the American way, and hands him another comic that reads, destroy all vampires. So Sam reminds him that he told him that he doesn't like horror comics. Alan tells him to think of it as a survival manual, and their number is on the back. So just pray you never need to call us. And Sam repeats, he'll pray that he never needs to call them. Later that evening, Michael is walking on the boardwalk and he stops at an ear-piercing booth. Starr comes out of nowhere telling him that it's a ripoff. If he wants his ear pierced, she'll do it. He asks her what her name is and she tells him Star. But in the distance we see David is observing and watching. Michael asks if she wants to get something to eat, and as she agrees, David and company pull up, immediately asking her where is she going, so she tells him that she's going for a ride, and then she introduces Michael. Star goes to get on Michael's bike, and David simply just calls her name, and she must know what's up, because then she walks over and gets on David's bike. David asks Michael if he knows where Hudson's bluff overlooking the point is, and Michael responds that he can't beat his bike. Casually, David tells him that he doesn't have to try and beat his bike, he just has to try and keep up. And at that point, we see David and company ride off, driving up the boardwalk, down the stairs, and up the beach while Lost in the Shadows by Lou Grand plays. And I'll admit, this is a cool ass, dope ass sequence. It's actually like one of my all-time favorite like scenes, sequences, whatever you want to call them, because as they speed off, the music kicks in, and as they're riding up the coastline, we see a shot of all of them kind of like racing, but not really racing. It leads them to under a bridge and into the woods, and as the camera zooms out, all we see is brake lights or taillights. So now it's transitioning to Michael racing David after already admitting that he can't be his bike, but regardless of the fact he's keeping up with him. David is instigating him, kind of like gaslighting him, if I'm being honest. But suddenly Michael falls, and he falls just in time because he was about to ride off the cliff. Michael gets up and charges at David and punches him in his face, then calls him out saying that he wants him, just him. So David challenges that asking, How far is he willing to go? David is fucked up for this because he was about to let this man ride off that cliff. We cut to everyone entering a cave. David explains that this was the hottest resort in Santa Carla about 85 years ago, but they built it on the fault. So in 1906, when the big one hit San Francisco, the ground opened up and the place took a header right into the crack. So now it's theirs. David sends Marco to go get food, and Paul hands David a joint, who gives it to Michael, calling it an appetizer. In the next scene, Sam, while in bed, is reading one of the vampire comics, and Lucy comes in his room and puts some clothes in the closet, and as she goes to walk out, Sam points out that the closet door she left open. She realizes and tells him that she can't sleep with the closet door open either, not even a crack. And you know what? Neither can I. Lucy comments that it's terrible to admit, but she thinks one of the reasons she divorced his father was because he never believed in the monster closet. That's just such an odd thing to say. Like, I don't believe in any closet monster, and yet I still don't like to sleep with any doors open, closets included, and it's the same thing as like my feet hanging off the bed. I just I just don't like to do that. I think it's this is more so like a subconscious thing because there's others that like kind of feel the same things, feel the same way, especially if you're like a horror fanatic, we're kind of desensitized from certain genres, and we know damn well ain't no damn monsters in our clauses or under the bed, but at the same time, never say never. We've learned that from movies revolver and paranormal style movies, but all that movie does is create paranoia, so that's not really a valid argument. Anyway, while saying that, grandpa pops up with the stuffed beaver beaver for Sam. Sam continues reading, but can't help but to keep looking at it, before finally he decides to put it in his closet. We cut back to the cave, Marco has returned with food, Chinese food, so he passes it around. David hands rice over to Michael, but at first he refuses. So David asks if he if he likes rice, and then he comments, How could a billion Chinese people be wrong? and kind of laughs. So as he hands it to him, and Michael starts eating, so of course David starts fucking with him, so he asks, How are those maggots? Michael is like, huh? So David tells him, Maggots. You're eating maggots, how do they taste? Paul, Marco, and Duane start laughing. So as he laughs it off, but then he looks down and sees that it's actually maggots. So then he throws it to the ground. While they laugh it off, he soon realizes that it's just white rice. Who the fuck eats just plain rice? But regardless, he apologizes and David offers him a peace offering, handing him noodles, but Michael sees that it's actually worms. So he warns David. So David takes a bite, and Michael realizes that it's just noodles, as Michael tells him that it's just noodles. David whispers to Marco, telling him to go get the wine. Starr sees this and begins to move closer to Michael. While David takes a drink, he then tells Michael to drink some of it and to be one of them. He hands it to him, and Paul, Duane, and Marco all start chanting Michael's name. Laddie gets up and moves towards Star because he knows what's about to go down. Star tells Michael not to drink it and that he doesn't have to drink it, warning him that it's blood. And Michael responds, Yeah, sure. Blood, and then he drinks it anyway. David and company all start cheering and celebrating. Star and Laddie, however, start backing up as they watched them celebrate. Cry Little Sister by Gerard McMahon starts to play. Now remember during the opening of the film, this song was playing, and I told you we'd hear this song throughout the movie because again, the song was created for this film. Star and Laddie back up into the room because they want no parts of this. Meanwhile, he continues drinking as they continue to celebrate. In the next scene, we see them arriving at a set of train tracks, and again, this bridge and this location is known as the Iron Horse Trailhead Trestle Bridge, as I mentioned earlier. Michael asks David what's going on, so David tells him that he wants to know. Wait, what? My bad. Michael asks David what's going on. So David tells the group that Michael wants to know what's going on, telling them that they should let Michael know what's going on. He gives Marco the first opportunity to show him, and Marco tells him goodnight and drops off the tracks. Up next, Paul says bottoms up and he drops down as well. Duane walks over and he also drops down. So David urges him to come with them as he drops down. Michael leans over and sees them all hangling hanging from the bars of the train track. They're just dangling over the foggy bottom. David quotes the prices right, a TV show from the 90s, and tells Michael to come on down. So eventually he clamps down, but while dangling himself, a train approaches the tracks and the bars begin shaking. David tells Michael to hold on, and one by one they let go. First Paul and then Marco tells him not to be scared and he lets go, followed by Duane. David tells Michael that he's one of them, encouraging him to let go, but then David lets go as well. Once the train has finished passing through, Michael hears them from below, ultimately letting go himself as he falls, which seems to be an endless drop, and as he's falling, we see the scene transitions to Michael falling onto his bed. During this process, Sam enters Michael's room to wake him up because Lucy is on the phone for him. Michael asks to tap, so Sam tells him that it's 2 p.m. 2 p.m. But because it's bright and the sun is shining in his face, Michael asks for his sunglasses, and Sam comments that he needs glasses to talk on the phone, asking if he's freebasing, inquiring minds want to know. So Michael just flips him off, gives him the finger. At my young age, I had no idea what that even meant, but then you fast forward to today, it makes total sense because the 70s, mid to late 80s, and early 90s, cocaine was at uh its peak, not to mention again, Corey Fellman came to sat under the influence of cocaine. So it circles back to what I said earlier, basically. Now on the phone, Lucy asks Michael if he's still in bed, but he tells her that he's up. So she comments that Max asked her out to dinner and she wants him to stay home with Sam, but Michael responds that he's old enough to stay home by himself, and Sam comments that he doesn't need a babysitter. Lucy responds that he, Michael, comes home late at night, sleeps all day, and she works all day, so Sam is always alone. She continues that it's been a long time since somebody asked her out and she'd like to go. So Michael, being the good son that he is, responds, okay. Later that night we see grandpa getting ready to go out, so he asks the boys, Michael and Sam, if there's anything around that'll pass for an aftershave. So Sam suggests the Windex is over in the window, so grandpa gives it a try, and what do you know? He rubs it on his face. Michael asks if he has a big date tonight, and he answers that he's dropping some of his handiwork to the widow Johnson. And Michael asks, What did he stuff for her? asking Mr. Johnson. Grandpa does not find it funny, commenting that he'll see them later. It took me until my big age to put two and two together. That grandpa obviously does taxidermy, like I said. So Michael is making a joke that grandpa stuffed her husband seeing as though she's a widow. Sam makes it known that that wasn't funny, but while driving off, grandpa has a horn that plays the la kuka racha. Sam tells Michael that he's gonna make him a sandwich, but he responds not to bother. So Sam comments for him to lose the earring because it's definitely not him. Michael could care less. He tells him to piss off, and Sam responds that all he does is give attitude, asking if he's been watching too much dynasty. But before he can finish, motorcycles start driving around the house while Michael's name is being said repeatedly in a whispering voice. Michael rushes for the door, and Sam is telling him not to open it, but when he does, it's back to normal. There's nobody outside, so Sam asks what's going on, and Michael tells him to go take his bath. Michael heads into the kitchen and grabs a carton of milk, but suddenly he cowers in pain, hunched over on the floor. Upstairs we see Sam taking his bath, singing Ain't Got No Home by Clarence Frogman Henry. While singing, he doesn't hear Michael approach the bathroom door panting. The dog the dog Nanook senses that something isn't right. Michael slowly turns the doorknob and Sam slides under the water completely unaware at what's going on. Nanook starts barking, and as Michael stands in the doorway, Nanook lunges at him, sending both of them falling down the stairs. Now Sam hears this, so when he goes out to check, he calls off for Michael and Nanook, but he gets no response. But as he gets to the bottom of the stairs, he hears panting, and when he turns on the light, Michael is sitting clutching his hand that's covered in blood, clearly with a bite mark. Sam asks what happened, so he answers Nanook. So then Sam responds, what about him? asking what did he do to his dog? And Michael tells him that he didn't do anything. Nanook bit him. That's his blood. Sam asks him, What did he do to the dog? Michael stands up and tells him that's well, he's telling Sam that Nanook was per was protecting him. And in that moment, Sam notices his reflection in the mirror is transparent. Sam tells him that he's a creature of the night, a lot like his comic books. Sam immediately heads back upstairs commenting that he's a vampire. My own brother, a goddamn shit sucking vampire. You wait till mom finds out, buddy, and then he starts running to his room. So Michael tries to stop him, pleading to let him talk. But Sam has locked his door door, and during this, Michael is banging on the door and Sam is calling the Frog Brothers. Michael retreats to his room and lays down while we hear his heart is racing. We see the frog brothers tell Sam that he did the right thing, and in the background you can still see those two hippies still sitting up sleep. Edgar asks if Michael sleeps much, and Sam answers that he sleeps all day. So then he asks if the sunlight freaks him out, and Sam responds that hears wears sunglasses in the house. Edgar continues asking if Michael has bad breath and long fingernails, and Sam tells him that his nails are a bit long, but he's always had bad breath. Alan confirms that he's a vampire and instructs him instructs him to get a sharp stake and drive it right through his heart. But Sam quickly answers that he can't do that, that's his brother. So they offer to come and do it, and Sam tells them no. So then they advise him to go get a garlic shirt a garlic t-shirt or it's his funeral, and then they hang up. We cut to Michael in his room who's fallen asleep, but is now floating. And when he hits the ceiling, he starts to wake up and realizing that he's flying, but struggling to control it. He's knocking shit over, screaming, and Sam hears all of this just as Lucy calls to check in, asking if everything is alright, and Sam tells her that they have to have a talk about something, and in the background, she hears Michael screaming for help. She's asking what's going on. Michael has the other phone, so he hears this, and he as he's floating out the window, he floats past Sam's window. Sam tells Lucy that he can't talk right now. It's about Michael. Michael on the other phone tells Lucy not to listen to him because he doesn't know what he's saying. Sam sees Michael outside of his window and starts screaming for her to help, screaming that he's coming to kill him. Lucy, who's at dinner with Max at the restaurant, rushes out to get home, and Max looks out the window and sees her running to her car before speeding out of the parking lot. Michael convinces Sam to let him in, reminding him that he's his brother. So Sam helps him helps him in and he tells Sam that they have to stick together. And Sam asks, What about mom? So Michael responds, Don't tell her anything. Sam worries that telling Sam worries telling him that it's not like getting a D in school, so it's hard to hide it. Lucy arrives home screaming out to Sam, asking if he's okay, and Sam tells her that he is okay. He was reading a horror comic and he thought he saw something out his window and got carried away, so she comments in disbelief that he got freaked out over a comic book. She clearly heard both of them screaming, so she heard Michael screaming and somehow disbelieved what Sam said. She tells Sam that she's had enough of them, then directing her attention to the spilled milk that Michael left there. She asks, What about the milk and the refrigerator door that was left wide open? When she puts the milk carton on the counter, however, we the audience see a missing child poster on the back of the milk carton and it's Laddie's picture. In the next scene, Michael is sneaking out and we hear grandpa's la cucaracha horn as he arrives home. So in the next scene, we see Sam asking if he can sleep in Lucy's room because he read a real scary comic. But we the audience know that that's not the case. That is not true. Lucy comments asking if he's been eating pizza because he smells like garlic. And on the other side, when Sam opens his robe, we see that he's wearing a garlic neck necklace and he quickly closes his robe. We cut to Max arriving home, and while walking, he hears some noises, so he appears very suspicious and cautious. And while looking around, he's greeted by Thorne. So when he nails down to put to pet him, a kite flies right into the back of his head. Suddenly all the lights shut off, and he's giving the same treatment as Michael as he hears motorcycles circling around the house and shouting. Michael arrives at the cave looking for Star, and while looking for her, he spots the wine the wine bottle containing David's blood, and then he throws it. Starr walks out and walks over, telling him where she is, so he asks what's happening to him, and she tells him that she can't tell him. While hugging and kissing him, Cry Little's sister again starts to play, and the two of them pretty much start making out as the song continues to play. So while the camera is moving through the clouds and over the ocean and into the cave, we assume that it's David and company returning home. Michael hears this and wakes up, and then he removes the bandage off of his hand only to reveal that it's fully healed. The bite mark is no longer there. We cut to Michael arriving home where he's greeted by Lucy. She asks him if they aren't friends anymore because she wants to talk as if they are. She tells him to take off his glasses and look at her, which eventually he does. She comments that if there's a girl or if there's anything else they can talk about. Michael responds that there's things he's dealing with that before he can finish, she answers she wouldn't understand. And he just looks at her and walks inside. I mean, he can't exactly be like, hey mom, I'm a vampire. So what else is he supposed to do? As he walks inside, grandpa and Sam are in the kitchen, and Grandpa comments that he's not the only one that got lucky. Dude, that is gross. You're like he's like 70. Uh no thank you for the visual. Sam asks if he got everything taken care of, and he just walks away from him too. Shortly after, Lucy and Sam arrive at Max's house, and Sam asks what's the wine for. So she tells him it's an apology for leaving dinner the um last night, which he should be the one making it. So as she opens the gate and is walking towards the house, Thorne comes out and is immediately in defense mode. And while this is happening, Sam is reading in his comic book and turns to a page reading the illustration that says Hounds from Hell. Lucy at that point starts running back to the car while Thorne is giving chase running after her. She starts calling for Sam and she makes it over the gate just in time as Thorne grabs her address. So Sam helps her up, so during that he's trying to chew his way through the gate, so they rush off to the car and drive off. We then cut to Sam explaining to the Frog brothers what had just happened. So Edgar tells him that they've been aware of some serious vampire activity. Santa Carla has become a haven for the undead. Alan recommends that he kills his brother, telling him that he'll feel better. Sam points out that the comic says if they kill the head vampire, all the half vampires will return to normal. So if Michael is a vampire, he's only half. Edgar asks if Michael knows who the head vampire is, but Sam thinks that he doesn't. So Edgar tells him if he doesn't kill him, they will. Sam explains that all this all started when Lucy started working at the video store. Max goes home after dark. The dog who chased Lucy was his, continuing to explain that vampires require a daytime protector, a guardian to watch them as they sleep. The hounds of hell are often employed for that purpose. So what happens if his mom is dating the head vampire? They can nail him and save Santa Carla, Carla, truth, justice in the American way. Edgar tells him that they'll check out Max. Later that night, Michael is about to leave and he has a candle lit, so he grabs the wick to put it out with his finger. You know, damn well that shit hurt. On Michael's way out, he runs into Max, and in the background, Grandpa complains that they're having company again, and Lucy responds that he hasn't had company since mom died eight years ago. And he says, Right now, they're having company again, sounding disappointed. At the front door, Lucy tells Michael that Max is coming for dinner, but he tells her that he has plans. So Lucy tells him that things are going to change when school starts. Do you really expect us to believe that Michael's grown ass is still in school? College, maybe, but that's about it. Michael and Max greet each other, and Max tells him that he's the man of the house and he's not coming in until He invites him in, and which he does. Max enters the house and greets Lucy, and Sam introduces the Frog Brothers to Lucy. So now sitting at the table, Lucy comments that somebody has bad breath, and the boys look directly at Max. Because remember, bad breath is a sign or a clue to a person being a vampire. Anyway, they figure out that it's Nanook and tell him to go away and go upstairs. Sam offers Max Parmesan cheese, and Max puts it all over his dinner. So when he does take a bite, he begins to choke because it's actually garlic. Sam comments that he bet he hates garlic and he doesn't, it's just too much. Then Sam offers him water to which he proceeds to throw it in his lap, and Sam assumes that it burns, but Max asks him if he's nuts because it's not burning, it's ice cold. So in that moment, Edgar turns off the light, and when they discover that he's not glowing, so they turn the light back on. But Sam has Sam is holding a mirror directly in Max's face, so when he sees it, it startles him. Lucy asks Sam what's wrong with him, but Max answers that he thinks he knows what the problem is, assuring that he knows what Sam is thinking, but he's wrong. He's not trying to replace his father or steal his mother away from him. He would like to just be his friend. Highly annoyed, he bids goodnight to Lucy, so Lucy whispers to Sam saying thanks a lot. While she walks away or walks Max to the door, she begins apologizing, commenting that he was so sweet to him she doesn't know what's gotten into him. So Max tells her that kids that age need discipline, or they walk all over you, but she insists that Sam doesn't walk over her and Max calls her a protecting mother. Suggesting that they try once more, he tells her dinner at his place tomorrow night. Grandpa, on the other hand, is watching from his workspace with the door crack. Michael approaches David at the boardwalk, asking him where is Star, and he responds that if he ever wants to see her again, then he'd better come with them right now. So in the next scene, we see them arrive at a bonfire party while they're sitting at a tree. David encourages Michael to come sit with them, so he cautiously approaches them. David tells Michael that the initiation's over. It's time to join the club. And as he says this, David and Company reveal their vampire form. So as Michael looks at each of them and sees their vampire forms, they then they then fly out of the tree and begin attacking the partygoers, killing them brutally as and as Michael watches, he then reveals his vampire form and falls out of the tree. As he looks up, David and company have returned to human form, with David telling him that now he knows what they are, so he knows what he is. He'll never grow old and he'll never die, but he must feed. And as he's saying that, he's wiping blood from his face, laughing. We cut to Sam asleep in bed and he hears a noise that alerts him, so he turns on his light only to discover that grandpa has put a stuffed owl on his table, and it scares the shit out of him. It scares him to the point where he screams, commenting that he wished grandpa would stop giving him these stupid things. When Sam opens his closet, you can see that he now has a closet full of stuffed animals. So when he closes the door, Michael is now he's now appeared and he's standing there. So Michael tells him that he knows what he is now, and Sam pleads for Michael not to kill him, but asks if he knows who the head vampire is, but he doesn't know. Out of nowhere, Star is outside calling for Michael. Sam sees her and asks Michael if she's one of them. Star asks if she can come up and he tells her no, instructing Sam to shut his window and lock his door. But as he walks away, she flies into the room and Sam yells, She's one of them. Michael asks if she knows where David took him, and Sam asks, Who's David? While ignoring him, Starr answers that yes, it's her fault. If she hadn't met him or hadn't liked him, adding that she did try to warn him, which to be fair, she did. She told him not to drink the drink because it was blood and he didn't believe her, so that technically is his damn fault. He questions if it was that night in the cave. That wasn't wine that they gave him, that was blood. David's blood. Sam comments that you drink someone's blood asking if he's crazy. Michael tells her that he's just like David, and she tells him, No, that he's like Laddie and her. They're not like them, and Sam yells, until you make your first kill. Michael asks, Why didn't she kill him last night? And Star reveals that he was supposed to be her first. That's what David wanted, but she couldn't. Michael wonders why, sarcastically commenting, because she cares so much about him, and she answers that she does, and when she caresses his face, he swats her hand away. He questions what she's doing there and what does she want from him. Starr tells him that she wanted to tell him that it's not too late for him, but for her, it gets harder and harder to resist. Michael now frustrated, asks, Why does she come there? And Starr responds that she was hoping that they would help her and Laddie. Michael laughs and goes to walk away, and she flies away, so then he rushes to the window and call out for her, but she's gone. Why will she return after you've been an asshole this entire time during this and during this interaction? Like, of course not, she's not gonna have to return. Sam then yells out of the window for her to not kill anybody until they get back to her. He then rushes to the phone and calls the Frog Brothers. So we cut to the next day and see the Frog Brothers have arrived at his house. Edgar walks in asking Sam where's Nasferatu. Sam has zero idea who that is, so Edgar comments the Prince of Darkness, the Nightcrawler, the Bloodsucker. Sam yells up for Michael announcing that they're here. We cut to Michael and them leaving in Grandpa's nice ass car as he watches from a distance completely unaware that they just left with his car without permission. Sam yells asking if it's okay that they borrow the car, but they already have it and they're pretty much already gone. So now they've arrived at the cave, the frog brothers do a quick check of each other. As Sam helps Michael out of the car, he tells he tells him that he doesn't want him going in there. This isn't a comic book because these guys are brutal killers. Sam comments, so are the frog brothers, and they look over at them and then they're like, Yeah, about that. Michael admits that he's not going to have the strength to protect him, and Sam being the caring brother that he is, tells Michael that he'll protect them this time. Even though he's the vampire, he's still his brother. Isn't that sentimental? That's a nice gesture, but yeah. We'll see about that. Edgar tells Michael if he tries to stop them or vamp out at all, he'll stake him without even thinking twice. Sam tells him to chill out, and Michael asks, Where did he meet them? Now inside the cave, Edgar and Alan enter Star's room, but Michael yells for them to not touch her and to stay away from her. So they walk away, and Edgar tells Alan that vampires have such rotten tempers. Michael wakes Star up to leave, but she tells him to take Laddie first. The frog brothers continue searching the cave, and then Alan finds an area where a draft of air is coming from, so they enter by climbing through it. Once they've gotten through, they're looking around and they see nothing. But then Sam looks up only to discover they're hanging from the ceiling above them, and he screams, but Edgar rushes to cover his mouth. Edgar then begins climbing up, and Sam reminds him that they just have to kill the leader, but they don't know who it is. So Edgar says that they'll start with the little one, which is Marco. Edgar then gets in position and then he drives a wooden stake through his chest, so of course it wakes the rest of them up. As Marco's blood pours out, covering them, Edgar and Alan jump down, and Marco's body falls on them. Now everyone's screaming, and David tells them that they're dead meat, and at that point they go to escape, but David, now giving chase, then grabs Sam's leg. And as they begin playing Tug of War, and then eventually they drag David's arm into the sunlight and it burns his hand. And so while screaming, we see a single tear roll down his face, and as I mentioned earlier, these were the contacts. They were like irritating his eyes, and as a result, like the crew or the director decided to leave it in the film for realism. They finally reached the car, and Michael is knocked out, so it's leaving Sam to drive. The frog brothers say that they don't ride with vampires, so Sam tells them, Fine, stay here. And they have a change of heart, and then they get in the car. Sam slams it into reverse, almost driving off of a cliff, and Sam comments that burn rubber does not mean warp speed. In the next scene, they arrive at grandpa's and while walking in, Michael is carrying Star in his arms and Edgar is carrying Laddie in his arms. Grandpa stops them asking if he knows the rule about filling up the car with gas when you take it without asking. Michael tells him no, so grandpa responds, now he does. And he walks away, completely dismissing the fact that he's carrying a passed out woman with the passed out child. Sam comments that they definitely blew plan A, so Alan tells him that it's time to activate plan B, but they don't have one. But they also don't have a lot of time because once the sun sets, they'll be looking for them. We cut to Sam arriving at Max's video store while Lucy is working, and he comments that he's got to tell her something important, and he continues adding that Santa Carla's crawling with vampires, and he starts telling her about the cave incident, urging her to tell someone because they're coming to the house when it's dark. Lucy, on the other hand, is telling him to stop and doesn't want another word. She's going to see Max tonight and he's trying to ruin it, ruin it. There's nothing wrong with him, as she replies, but Sam could care less, shouting that he's not talking about Max to hell with Max. And Lucy is over it at this point, tells Sam that she'll deal with him at home, and then she walks away. So then Sam tells Edgar and Alan that they're pretty much on their own, and Alan comments that that's how they like it. We cut to them prepping for the impending doom that's coming for them. Not even just them, but all of them. They enter a church in the middle of a service, so the churchgoers and the reverend all fix their eyes on them while they're filling up canisters of holy water. Later that evening, Sam is telling him that the widow Johnson said to pick her up at seven instead of eight. But he's unaware that they even had a date, so Sam just tells him that she said not to be late. Grandpa comments that he'd better go clean up then. Shortly after we see Grandpa leaving and we hear his horn yet again. He's got that nice ass car, but prefers to drive his beat-up ass jeep. You would assume like he would want to drive a nice car, look nice, but you know, whatever, it's just part of the story, and obviously we'll learn why later on. Now gone, everyone is prepping the house and they're preparing for war. Sam is smashing a shit ton of garlic, and Edgar and Alan are filling up a bathtub with holy water. Sam then dumps the bucket of garlic into the tub. During that, they fill up their water guns with that same water. So in the next room, Sam is Sam asks if David and company will be coming for her and Laddie, but Michael lets it be known that they're coming for all of them. We see the sunset over the boardwalk, and now that it's safe, we see David, Duane, and Paul hanging upside down sleep, but then David opens his eyes and screams, and then they fly out fly out of the cave, and we know where they're going. At Max's house, Thorne senses something because he barks and it startles Lucy. Max asks, What's the matter? So she answers that it's just old memories coming back, but he's not buying it. He wants to know why she's so jumpy, and she explains that she knows it's just the kid's imagination, but he seems so so sincere. It's the same, and Max promises not to laugh if she tells him. We cut back to grandpa's house, and the nook is just outside, just like kind of pacing. So Edgar comments that he should warn them all, when a vampire bites it, it's never a pretty sight. No two blood suckers go out the same way. Some scream, some don't. Some explode, some implode, but all will try to take you with them. Meanwhile, outside the wind starts picking up and Nanook senses that something isn't right. And as he starts whimpering and barking, Sam realizes that he left him outside, and as he heads to the door, Edgar tells him not to go out. Then Michael hears this and then he runs after him. Sam races to unhook Nanook and as as he's struggling, Michael helps him, and once they freed Nanook, they all immediately start running back to the house. Starr yells that David and company are coming as she sees them. We, the audience, don't see them, but yet, while running, Sam falls, so Michael gets him up and they make it just in time. Michael tells Edgar and Alan to take Star and Laddie upstairs, and suddenly Duane bursts through the fireplace. Upstairs, Edgar tells Alan that they should terminate them now, and Star tells Laddie to run. So as they go to chase them, they run right into Paul, who's hiding behind the door, commenting that they're his now, snatching their weapons from them as they wield them, telling them that they killed Marco. So Edgar tells him that he's next. And as they backtrack into the bathroom, they look into the tub of garlic, and Paul tells them that garlic doesn't work, completely unaware that it's not just garlic, it's holy water as well. So Edgar tells him that it is holy water, death breath, and then he splashes it in his face, which then burns him. And at this point, Nanook charges at him, forcing him to fall into the bathtub, which immediately he starts to burn himself alive, and while screaming, it goes silent briefly. But then Paul's melted face pops back out of the water, scaring not only them, but Nanook too. Ultimately he dies, and as the tub starts to drain, blood shoots out of every sink and pipe and toilet in the house. So now it's two down, three to go. We then cut over to Sam looking around in the dark, but he doesn't see Dwayne. So as he attempts to wake Michael up out of nowhere, Dwayne picks Sam up by his head in the air, and Sam sprays him with his holy water-filled gun, forcing Dwayne to drop him. At that moment, Sam grabs a bow and arrow and shoots it at Dwayne as he flies towards him, so Dwayne just falls to the ground and doesn't move. Sam cautiously approaches his body, but out of nowhere, Dwayne pops up, telling him that he missed. We don't really hear Duane talk throughout this movie until like now. Anyway, Sam responds that he only missed once, and then he shoots another arrow, striking him in the chest, sending him back into uh a stereo. So while he's being electrocuted, good times by Jimmy Barnes and Inks' plays. Dwayne continues screaming until his head finally explodes. Sam comments, death by stereo. Michael and Sam go to run up the stairs, but stop to see the kitchen is flooded with blood and water. So at that point, they resume running only to have David appear and push Michael down the stairs. Once Michael gets up, he has to look around to find David, but he doesn't see him. But then David appears, striking him once more. Sam enters the quiet room and runs into Edgar and Alan, who tells them that he nailed one with a bow and arrow, and they respond that they got one too. Totally annihilating his knight stalking ass. So while they're talking, we see Laddie, who has now shifted to his vampire form, hiding under the bed. Edgar comments, Death to all vampires. Maximum body count. They are awesome, monster bashers, and Alan adds the meanest, the baddest, and in that moment, Laddie bursts through the mattress, running past them and into a corner. Alan comments that, oh shit, it's the attack of Eddie Monster. But before they can do anything, Star bursts through the door, telling them to get away. He's just a little boy, and as he's trying to attack them, they just look at him while he's growling. Back downstairs, Michael continues his search for David, but he appears again, striking him once more. David is basically fucking with him at this point, pretty much playing hide and seek. Michael calls him out and tells him that he's afraid to face him. So David responds that he tried to make him a mortal, and Michael calls bullshit, telling him that he tried to make him into a killer. So David strikes him again, and while laughing at him, Michael turns around. Now in his vampire form, David tells him that he is a killer. They then fly towards each other, engaging in an airborne battle. Michael pushes David towards the direction of a wall full of deer antlers that's mounted to the wall, but he misses. David looks at him, telling him that it's his turn and starts forcing him backwards towards Grandpa's workspace where there's another set of antlers. But Michael catches himself on the top of the door frame. David encourages him to stop fighting him. He doesn't want to kill him, but instead wants him to join them. Join who? Your crew is like literally dead. You're the only one left. Michael tells him never, and David then reminds him that it's too late. His blood is in his veins, and Michael responds, so is his. He lets go of the doorframe and turns midair, slamming David onto the antlers, impelling him, killing him. And as the course from Crylula's sister plays, we see David die. Michael, however, is still in vampire form. So David wasn't the head vampire and he's not the leader. There's still one more left. But who? Star rushes down to Michael and and in a process she discovers David's body. He then pulls her into the room, telling her not to let them see him like that. He tells Sam to get away, but Sam asks what's wrong. Edgar asks what's the big deal because he destroyed the head vampire, it's all over. Outside we see Lucy and Max arrive. Michael tells him that nothing has changed, and Star adds that he's right. She doesn't feel any different either. Edgar realizing that there's still one more. Lucy and Max, however, have finally rushed inside, so Sam tells Michael that he'll handle their mom and not to let her see the baddies that's laying around. They rush inside and Lucy asks what happened after seeing that the home has been trashed. Sam tells her that they need to have a heavy conversation. She questions where is Michael. Max walks over to David's body but doesn't see Star or Michael. Lucy tells Sam that she doesn't want to hear another word from him until she talks to Michael. Max approaches Lucy, apologizing to her, telling her that this is all his fault. David and his boys misbehave, reminding her that he told her boys need a mother. Lucy asks, What is he talking about? Sam comments that he knew it. He's the head vampire. Lucy is over the vampire talk, telling him to not start with that shit again. Starr comes out telling Max that he was the secret David was protecting. Alan tells Max that he passed the test, and Max responds, Don't ever invite a vampire into your into your house. It renders you powerless. So Sam asks Edgar if he knew that, and he claims he did because everybody does. Lucy comments that has everyone gone crazy and what's the matter with them? Max tells her that it was her that he was after all along. He knew that if he could get Sam and Michael into the family, there would be no way that she would say no. Lucy asks where's Michael, and nobody acknowledges. Max continues telling her that it was going to be so perfect, like one big happy family. Her boys and his boys. Edgar responds, Great, the blood sucking Bayb Brady brunch. Meanwhile, they start backing away. Max then turns around, revealing his vampire form, telling Lucy that he still wants her. He hasn't changed his mind about that. This reveal startled everybody. Every single one of them screamed. Michael turns the corner, still in his vampire form, telling Max that he didn't invite him this time, and then he charges at him, to which Max just throws him, knocking him unconscious. Starr then charges at him too with a stick and he throws her down, and then he throws Edgar and Alan down. So Sam, in an effort to protect Lucy, he runs at Max and Max just grabs him and holds him hostage. He then extends his hands to Lucy, telling her not to fight it. It's so much better if she doesn't fight. Realizing she doesn't have much of a choice, she gives herself to Max. And as he moves closer to her neck, we hear the la cucaracha horn from Grandpa and we realize Grandpa's home. Grandpa's arrival wakes up Michael, so as soon as Grandpa drives into the house, it sends these wooden posts slash wooden stakes flying, and Michael jumps down and pushes Max towards them, in which one impels him, sending him flying backwards into the fireplace where he explodes and of course dies. Michael has finally returned to human form. As he and Star embrace each other, Laddie rushes down the stairs, also back in human form. Lucy hugs both Michael and Sam. Edgar X Alan, how much should they charge them? Grandpa walks into the kitchen for a drink, and as Lucy approaches him, he tells her one thing about living in Santa Carla that he never could stomach was all the damn vampires. So my question is, were there other vampires out there, or was it just Max and his boys? Like there's definitely gotta be more, but I assume because Max is now dead, everything should be back to normal. I mean, I don't know. Anyway, grandpa shuts the fridge, and as the screen fades to black, people are strange begins to play, and the movie ends. So, on your watch of The Lost Boys, what do you rate it as? For me, I will give it a solid 8 out of 10. It's damn near a perfect movie ahead of its time, and it was actually a trendsetter. So I want to know your thoughts on the movie.
