Pleasure maxing. Ah! Welcome to another episode of Pleasure Ministries. My name is Chelsea and I am once again in the car. Again, I'm being a responsible driver. Don't worry, my phone is sitting in the seat next to me. I'm focused on the road. However, pleasure is just running through me this morning. And or or is it? Or is it? So I'm currently on my way to a coffee shop. I'm driving half an hour to a coffee shop. I just love high-quality coffee. Okay, that is one of the many joys of my life. I went to um a residential center of sorts when I was 17, and they made me write down things that I can look forward to every day. One of those things was iced coffee. Now, at the ripe age of 30, should I be drinking iced coffee every day? Probably not. Probably not, but I am. Okay, so I have a call at 1.15 with my non-dualistic tantric yoga teacher. And I do this thing where I wake up late and then I rush, rush, rush, rush, rush to get my coffee and put all this caffeine in my body, and then I sit down and I'm like, hello teacher, I'm ready to learn. Open my mind, please. But I was getting ready to leave for the coffee shop this morning, and I tell my sister, like, you know, in reality, I should probably do my skincare journal, take my time, but no, I'm getting a coffee. And it was interesting because in my heart and soul, I knew a part of me was like, mmm, yes, like let's slow down, let's feel our fingertips slide across our face and rub our moisturizer, and mmm, and then we can lay in the bed all cozy and pick up a pen and journal our thoughts. And that sounds really good, but not as good as coffee. Like, not as good as coffee. Like, there's something within me that's like I wanna feel speed, you know? I wanna feel the zoomies before I sit down with my spiritual teacher. Now, is that because if I were to take my time and journal and then see my teacher, then I might feel too exposed, too emotional, too vulnerable, and we can't have that. So this morning I'm I feel like I'm pleasure maxing, okay? Do I recommend pleasure maxing? Not always, but sometimes I feel like it keeps you going. Sometimes you don't have the freaking nervous system capacity to do the quote unquote highest and best things that you know are right for you. I've had a really tough week visiting my family or week, month visiting my family, and I know in my heart that like I am trying to just keep it together until I get back home to Denver. I feel like I cannot afford any more heavy feelings, any more like family secrets being revealed to me, any more icky feelings, and so I am just going to get a coffee, and it's okay to get a coffee. Oh my gosh, I'm this is this podcast is for me. I'm gonna listen to this. Maybe maybe I won't publish this, and I'll just listen to it when I need to, but I just can't wait to have this honey vanilla latte, and it's okay to to prioritize fast pleasure over delayed gratification sometimes. I'm sometimes, sometimes. We don't want to do that all the time because then I think that's how addiction can be uh I don't want to say encouraged, but maybe developed in a certain way. A lot of that's genetic, but I'm also sober, I've been sober for two years, so that's another reason. Like, I'm not smoking weed and getting drunk. Mommy has to get her fixed somehow, okay. Anyways, this is very ridiculous. I don't know where I was going with this, I don't know what the lesson is in me getting a coffee. And I say that because my mom told me she was like, Don't just ramble on your podcast, like talk about what you want to talk about, but then be intentional and share the message that you learned through the experience. And so, right now I'm like, what's the lesson in me pleasure maxing? Sometimes there is no lesson in pleasure, and I think maybe that's where people get confused because they think this has to have a reason, this has to have a reason. There has to be some greater meaning to the intimacy. No, the intimacy is that I feel good. The meaning is that I like the way coffee tastes. I like a creamy liquid in my mouth every morning. Like, oh my god, sue me. Maybe I don't need to rationalize everything that feels good in my life. Maybe I'm just allowed to feel good because it feels good. Holy shit! Has anyone ever thought of that? That's a first for me. What if I just feel good because I want to feel good? Instead of like, oh well, I'm going to the meditation retreat and I'm doing breath work so I can uh uncover my shadow and then I'm gonna do a kundalini meditation and meet my heart, like fuck off, fuck off. I'm having a coffee and I'm flicking my bee. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is be human. Sometimes pleasure is for the sake of pleasure. I'm pretty sure the clitoris, I'm gonna fuck this up. The clitoris is like the only body part that just has like nerves for no reason. And I think that's what it means to be a human, okay? I want a coffee for no reason. I want a coffee because it's gonna feel good. I want a coffee because it's gonna give me 30 minutes of zoomies before my super intense spiritual call. I want a coffee because I like the way I feel when I swirl my little drink. Okay? Gosh, get off my back, everyone. That the invisible criticism that I'm getting from no one. Anyways, these are my Wednesday thoughts. Um, I hope you're having an incredible hump day. I like recording on my phone. Feels very easy, feels very authentic. Does the quality sound good? No, so maybe I'll buy a little microphone from my phone so you guys can hear my beautiful voice in a better, high, higher quality way, because I know you guys love listening to my voice. Anyways, the lesson in today's podcast is that it's okay to feel good for the sake of feeling good. You do not need to justify your pleasure, you do not need to have some grand meaning for why you want to experience joy in your body. Like, holy shit, let yourself live a little, okay? You deserve to feel good even when you feel bad. You deserve to experience pleasure in your body, and it's okay if that looks like rushing to get a coffee before your meeting. Thank you for coming to my wonderful podcast. I love you. Have an amazing day. To loo!
