I'm excited to have you on this podcast episode with me. Let me ask you something. Do you mind? Why are you tired? Why are you tired even after you sleep? Why do you wake up already drained? You hit the afternoon crash, and then need caffeine just to function. Can he answer that? Because here's the truth: your exhaustion is not random, it's not just life, it's not because you're busy. Your body is exhausted because something is misfiring in your system. And today I'm going to break down exactly what that is. Because once you understand this, you stop blaming yourself and you start fixing the real problem. See, your body was not built to feel like this. Human beings are designed for sustained energy, mental clarity, physical output. But right now, we are living in one of the most exhausted generations ever. According to the World Health Organization, burnout is now classified as an occupational phenomenon linked directly to chronic stress that hasn't been managed. And research shows over sixty percent of adults report feeling tired most days. Nearly one in three people are sleep deprived. This isn't normal, it's just common, and there's a difference. Here's where people get it wrong. They think energy is a feeling. Energy is a biological system, and that system includes your brain, your nervous system, your cells, which are your mitochondria, your hormones. As Andrew Herberman explains, your energy levels are directly tied to your nervous system regulation and sleep wake cycles. Meaning if your system is off, your energy will be off every time. Let's start with the obvious one: sleep. But not just how long you sleep, how well your body actually recovers. Sleep scientist Matthew Walker says sleep is the single most effective thing we can do to reset our brain and body health each day. And yet, most people scroll before bed, disrupt their circadian rhythm, wake up multiple times per night. Research shows that even losing one to two hours of sleep can reduce cognitive performance by up to 30%, increase fatigue the next day, spike stress hormones. So even if you're in bed, you may not actually be recovering. This is the one nobody talks about. Your nervous system. Right now, most people are living in a constant state of fight or flight, deadlines, stress, phones, notifications, pressure. Your body never shuts off. And when your nervous system stays activated, you burn through energy faster than you can replenish it. According to the American Psychological Association, chronic stress is linked to fatigue, brain fog, and low energy. It also disrupts sleep, digestion, and hormone balance. So now you're tired, wired, and can't recover. That's not laziness, that's overload. Let's talk about something most people overlook: the cellular energy. Your body doesn't run on motivation, it runs on nutrients, hydration, oxygen. Inside your body are microchondrias. These are your energy factories. And when they don't get what they need, your energy drops fast. Research shows even two percent dehydration can reduce energy levels and focus. Low protein intake impacts muscle recovery and energy production. Blood sugar spikes create crashes, which creates fatigue. So if you're skipping meals, undereating, living off caffeine, you're not giving your body what it needs to produce energy. You're just forcing it to survive. Here's another hidden drain: your brain. Every single day, you're making hundreds of decisions, constant micro choices, non-stop mental processing, and over time, that creates decision fatigue. As explained by our former president Barack Obama, he said, you'll see I wear only gray and blue suits. I'm trying to pare down decisions. Why? Because decisions drain energy. So if your brain is overloaded, your body will feel it. So let's bring this together. You're not exhausted because you're weak. You're exhausted because your sleep is off, your nervous system is overloaded, your body is underfueled, your brain is overworked. And on top of that, you're relying on motivation to fix it instead of discipline. Here's the shift: you don't fix exhaustion by trying harder, you fix it by regulating your system, building disciplined habits, and supporting your biology. Because when your system is supported, your energy stabilizes. And when your energy stabilizes, everything changes. Your focus, your performance, your income, your confidence. So if you've been feeling exhausted, this isn't the end of the story. It's the beginning of understanding your body. And once you understand it, you can take your power back. Friends, if this episode hit you, share it with someone who's been running on empty. And if you're ready to actually fix your energy, start with the basics. Because your energy isn't random, it's built. So I hope this episode was informative and educational for so many of you all over the world.
