You don't just wake up tired for no reason. You don't just lose motivation. Your energy is built or broken by how you live every single day. And nobody ever taught you how this actually works.

Hey friends, welcome back to this series on the Warriors Haven, which we're calling Built by Discipline. First and foremost, wherever you are listening, globally, I just want you to take a few minutes and give a round of applause to my two friends that helped with my opening for this episode. So it's me, Jay, and I want to give you something with this episode today that most people never understand. And that is the actual system behind your energy. See, friends, after I retired from the army, I had to learn this the hard way because when I lost structure, I didn't just lose routine, I lost energy. I was waking up tired, dragging through the day, trying to pour into my son, my responsibilities, my life with nothing in the tank. And I kept thinking, what is wrong with me? But the truth was simple. There was nothing wrong with me. My system was broken. This is bigger than just your story or my story. See, according to the World Health Organization, physical inactivity is one of the leading risk factors for global health problems, meaning millions of people are living in bodies that are not producing energy efficiently. And the American Psychological Association reports that chronic stress and lack of routine are major reasons people feel overwhelmed and mentally exhausted. Let me simplify that. When your body, your mind, and your life are out of order, you feel it as exhaustion. So let's break this down into four areas that control our energy. The physical energy. This is the foundation. Your body is your engine. If your body is low, your life will feel low. And the World Health Organization makes this very clear. Not moving your body regularly increases fatigue, lowers strength, and affects your overall energy levels. Simple version, if you're not moving, you're going to feel tired. Period. Add on top of that, not drinking enough water, eating low-quality food, not getting proper rest, and now your body has no fuel. And you're trying to build a better life on empty. You cannot out-hustle a tired body. You cannot outwork low energy. And most people are trying to fix their mindset when their body is exhausted. You can't build a strong life with a weak body. Low fuel equals low energy, which equals low results. And your body is not the problem. How you treat it is mental energy next. Now, let's talk about your mind. Because some of you are not physically tired, you're mentally drained. Constant scrolling, too much noise, too many opinions, no focus. And the American Psychological Association explains that constant mental stimulation and stress overload the brain, which leads to fatigue, lack of focus, and burnout. Simple version: your brain is tired because it never gets a break. It's always on, always processing, always reacting. Your brain needs focus, direction, stillness. Without that, you feel scattered. And scattered energy feels like exhaustion. A distracted brain is a tired brain. Focus creates energy. You're not lazy, you're overloaded. The third part is our emotional energy. Now, this one hits deeper than most people realize. Your environment matters. Your stress levels matter. What you tolerate matters because the American Psychological Association shows that ongoing stress doesn't just affect your mood, it drains your energy, affects your body, and impacts your ability to function daily. Simple version: stress is exhausting. And if your life is full of chaos, negativity, pressure, toxic environments, you are going to feel drained no matter what else you do. You can eat clean, you can work out, but if your life is stressful and chaotic, you will still feel tired. Your environment is either fueling you or draining you. Stress steals energy. Peace is powerful. The fourth part, the final part. Purpose, energy. This is the one most people don't talk about. If you don't have direction, if you're not building something, if you're not going through the motions and you're just there, life feels heavy. And the American Psychological Association connects meaning and purpose with better mental health and higher motivation. The simple version. When you have something that matters, you move differently, you feel different, you show up different. Purpose creates energy. When you have a mission, you don't move the same. A meaningless life feels exhausting. So if you've been walking around feeling tired, I want you to stop and ask, why am I like this? And start asking which part of my system is broken? Because your energy is not random, it's built. So, friends, a lot was packed into this episode. And again, I want to give a shout out to my friends that helped me with the opening for this. Another round of applause for them. As we continue building in the series, the next episode, we're going to break down the biggest lie that's keeping you stuck, which is motivation. We're going to talk about why it's failing you and what actually works instead. So once you understand I feel this, you'll stop starting over.
