SPEAKER_05

What's going on everyone? Welcome back to another episode of Love Life and Lessons. I'm your host Kai, and today we've got something special that's going to be fun because I already know there's gonna be some debate. We got some men and we got some women here. And they're both couples. So we got two couples here today. And we're talking about green flag versus red flags. I've got three people from Brooklyn, New York, representing Brooklyn in the best way possible. I'm gonna go around. Some people have already been here, so if you know their voice, it is them again. We're gonna go around and tell everybody.

SPEAKER_07

Hi, my name is Brooklyn. I'm from Red Hook.

SPEAKER_02

What's going on, everybody? This is your boy Fuego from Brooklyn, New York, representing Red Hook, where there's only one way in and one way out.

SPEAKER_06

Hey y'all, it's Brie, aka Juicy. I'm from Brooklyn representing Fuego and Brooklyn.

SPEAKER_05

How long have y'all been together?

SPEAKER_02

We've been together a little over three years now. We're going on a four-year mark.

SPEAKER_05

Me and Juicy have been together for three years. I would say also. So not at that four-year mark, but we're gonna get there, of course. I would say I made the first move because I was trying to see her after I met her on Twitter and ended up getting her information. What are three red flags that you wouldn't accept in a relationship? Brooklyn, we'll start with you.

SPEAKER_07

I say being disrespectful. One, and then two, with two, I don't know. With three, I don't know either.

SPEAKER_05

GC.

SPEAKER_06

I feel like someone who's a liar, um, someone who can't communicate, and someone who just can't provide or leave.

SPEAKER_02

Fuego. Someone who doesn't have ambition, goals, and a future.

SPEAKER_05

We're gonna go around and talk about three green flags that everybody has.

SPEAKER_07

He's very wonderful when it comes to taking me out, treats me well, and I love my dog.

SPEAKER_06

Someone who's respectful, a gentleman, someone who's um funny, who has a sense of humor, spontaneous, that likes to do things.

SPEAKER_05

Fuego, what are your three green flags?

SPEAKER_02

Well, three green flags that I look for in a woman, the first one would be her attitude. She has to come correct and she has to be very independent and worthy of trusting. The second one would be hygiene. My woman has to look good, has to smell good, and has to taste good. And my third one would be tattoos, baby, because I love a woman in ink, and that's one thing that really turns me on about a woman, is the ink baby.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my god, it's guys guys comedy. Okay, so now we're gonna transition a little bit, guys. Is it ever acceptable to check your partner's phone? Who wants to start the topic off?

SPEAKER_07

I will. My opinion, no, because you have to have trust in a relationship. Do you see?

SPEAKER_06

I feel like once you get to that point where you feel like you have to check someone's phone or want to, it's time to go.

SPEAKER_02

So toss up because it plays two ways. You know, some people look at it as a trust issue, some people just look at it as just being having an honest, open relationship with one another. You know, but the thing is, I feel as if you guys have nothing to hide. I don't see why not. But on the other hand, I see it as if if you trust me, why are you looking through my phone? Obviously, you're not trusting our relationship. So it can go both ways.

SPEAKER_05

But if they gave you a reason not to trust them, is it acceptable then to check the phone? Who would you like to do that?

SPEAKER_06

I still I still gonna check it. Yeah, I mean, if it's like I gotta check the phone, I have a bad feeling that he's doing something, then it's just like okay, you look through that phone, then don't act surprised if you find something. You know, so at that point, just always probably get your intuition. If you feel like something is going left, then just pack it up or bring it up and see if he's willing to show you. But to personally go through someone's phone, no.

SPEAKER_02

Me personally, to answer that question goes with the last question that you ask us. Red flags and green flags. I see it more as a red flag, if anything. You know what I'm saying? Because for one, like Juicy said, and the same as um Brooklyn mentioned earlier, has to be trust in a relationship, man. You know, there's no trust, honesty, or any type of communication, then you guys shouldn't be together. Why be together with someone when the same thing is gonna continue to happen? You know what I'm saying? It could be good today, but tomorrow could be a different story. You know? So that's why I say it can go both ways. You know? But once a person just keeps on and keeps on with the same things over and over, then you know that's a red flag.

SPEAKER_05

Can trust ever fully come back after it's broken?

SPEAKER_07

My opinion, no.

SPEAKER_05

Why?

SPEAKER_07

Because it's still even though some people do forgive and forget, but it's still the back of your mind no matter what. Because if he might tell you, oh I'm here, but then he's over there. You know, so it's like even though he apologized, the trust once it's broken is is bad. But that's why you know you have to have good communication in a relationship. Shit.

SPEAKER_05

Do you see?

SPEAKER_06

It just really depends. I feel like once that trust is broken, I don't know, there's really no coming back from it.

SPEAKER_04

Flago?

SPEAKER_02

I also see that as a red flag because it can also play both ways. You know, trust for one, a lot of people, once it's broken, there's no gaining that trust back in a relationship but from anyone, regardless of what the situation was. But also, you live, you learn, you forgive, and you forget. And if you believe in changes, anything is possible.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, I feel as though once trust is broken, hmm, it's a toss-up for me. I always think about it some I'm 50-50 with it. Because it depends on the person that you're dealing with. Not everybody's the same. You know, somebody can do something once and then actually honestly feel bad for it and never do it again. And then there's other people that would repeat the same cycle over again. So it's a toss-up for me. Let's talk about social media. Does everybody have a social media here?

SPEAKER_07

Yes, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Instagram, yeah, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, all that, right? Alright, so first question is liking someone's revealing photo disrespectful? We're gonna talk and start with juicy first.

SPEAKER_06

I feel like if you're in a relationship and you're liking any woman's pictures while you're in one is disrespectful, point blank period, whether she's half naked or not, you know what I'm saying? I feel like social media should just be like a cutoff if you're in a relationship because it can be a distraction.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, Brooklyn?

SPEAKER_07

I say no because it's only your picture. It's not the person in front of you. Two different things. Then that's where com t comes temptation. What is your temption on the person? But if you're loyal, you're loyal to your partner.

SPEAKER_02

I agree with the both of them to a certain extent, because acting like a woman's picture doesn't mean that I want to be with her. That could be someone that I actually grew up with, that could be someone in my family, someone that inspires me to do better.

SPEAKER_06

You know, but if we're talking like revealing, then that's when I'm like that's disrespectful. So like if it's not like a woman showing she's damn near naked and she's out here twerking and you see her whole fucking.

SPEAKER_02

I said, remember, I agree with the both of you guys. Right. So I only gave you one answer. You know, now I'm about to give you the second answer, which is gonna answer your question. Meaning exotic revealing pictures. Now, that's a different story. Now, if you're constantly on this person's page and every posting or picture that person posts is up, and you're just putting hearts on it, hearts on it, hearts on it, and that person could be putting pictures like half naked, you know, saying certain things that can be flirtatious, you know. So I agree with both women, you know, but at the end of the day, it's up to you and how you carry yourself.

SPEAKER_05

I agree with Juicy and also Anthony that revealing photos and liking them, what's your intent behind it? That's the most important thing in all of it. I still find it to be disrespectful, but what's the intent behind liking the pictures, you know? Should your partner post you often online? Like, does it matter to you if your partner posts you often? Is what I'm asking. You can start with you, Juicy.

SPEAKER_06

Honestly, I don't really care for that. You know, like I don't try to live up for the social media standards or how people try to view me or see me as. Like, I be living my life off the media. So I'm like basically off the grid. I don't do the whole relationship shit online. I be in real life with it.

SPEAKER_04

Brooklyn?

SPEAKER_07

It doesn't matter for me. If you post me, you don't because I prefer my life to be private. And that's one thing he knows about me. But then I don't mind posting him. You know, I really don't.

SPEAKER_05

Fuego?

SPEAKER_02

Me personally, I'm not with the social media hype at all. I like to keep my relationships private, official, but I also like to keep people entertained with what I'm doing and letting them know that I'm still surviving and living a happy, good, and positive life.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, for me, I really don't think it matters. I feel like social media can ruin a lot of relationships. Make up false narratives that aren't true, you know, spread lies about your partner that aren't true, even though it's never happened to me, but you know, you've seen it online. I'm sure everybody has seen that online once or twice before. Okay, so that goes on to my next question. Do you think social media can ruin relationships? We're gonna start with Fuego first.

SPEAKER_02

I believe it sure can. Why? Why? Because for one, social media can open up a lot of barriers for people, you know, and the thing is for those of you that haven't been in social media and are on it now, you can see that it can be very, very addictive. So once you're on it and you see something you like, you're gonna get addicted to it, man. And not only that, it can lead on to other things worse. But at the end of the day, like I mentioned, it's up to you. You know, you have to learn how to trust each other, love each other, and respect one another. And once you get into that social media, honestly, and stop posting your whole lifestyle and your whole life story, people's gonna want to dig in and find out more and want more about you. So, me personally, I can say it can ruin a relationship to a certain extent, but it can also help your relationship grow. Meaning that you guys, as long as you post up pictures of you guys having a good time together, you know what I'm saying? Boom.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, Brooklyn, you're next.

SPEAKER_07

In a very negative way, yes. Social media is very bad, and it would it does ruin relationships far as like fake pictures, AI that could crop pictures, and then they send it to you for the person, and then it ruins relationships.

SPEAKER_05

Juicy, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

I feel like social media definitely ruins relationships sometimes, depending on the person you're dealing with. If you know you don't trust your partner, or you know your man is easily going, he has no self-control, definitely, because you don't know who he follows, and at the same time, people could post whatever they feel like posting, and it can come up, and it it's just a distraction period. And I feel like social media shouldn't even be used when you're in a relationship, honestly.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, I feel like social media can kill relationships because it brings a false narrative that relationships have to be perfect. Like you see social media where they have these fairy tale weddings that you know some people wish they could have, where they got like everything that they want, their favorite singers singing at their wedding, you know. I don't believe that social media is the best thing to come to relationships. How do y'all feel about couples therapy?

SPEAKER_07

I need it honestly sometimes because you drives me up the wall.

SPEAKER_02

Well, honestly, I don't need no type of therapy at all. All I need to do is light up a joint.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

That's it, I'm lit.

SPEAKER_07

I still need the therapy.

SPEAKER_02

And you know what? The therapy is me, baby. You know what I'm saying? Because I'm the entertainer.

SPEAKER_07

So I need a vacation.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, man, we can do it together.

SPEAKER_07

No, I'm good, thank you.

SPEAKER_02

But therapy is very much needed in a relationship only if you guys are going through hard times and don't know how to resolve them yourself. Do you see what you think?

SPEAKER_06

I don't know. I feel like therapy depends on how bad the relationship is. Because I feel like once you get to the extent where you guys need therapy in the relationship, it obviously hit like it's time to pack it up. But I feel like it's more so for marriages. I don't know. I feel like if you have to seek therapy so early in a relationship, then just walk away from.

SPEAKER_05

I agree with you. If it's way too early in a relationship. I believe that therapy does start within yourself, but also therapy isn't a bad thing. Like most people think of therapy like, oh my god, we're we're on rock bottom at this point in our relationship.

SPEAKER_02

I believe that therapy is also because people need someone to talk to, man. They don't have that support, they don't have that love, and they don't have nowhere else to go. So they seek therapy.

SPEAKER_07

My apprais is because your partner makes you go crazy and want to pull your head out, but you love him at the same time. But you also gotta have patience.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_07

Patience is the key.

SPEAKER_06

But I feel like we all get to a certain point in our life where we're growing. Come on now. If you're not getting it, you're not getting it. But I feel like there we should be more for our life.

SPEAKER_07

But it's also for those of us too.

SPEAKER_05

Take your time. It's good, it's good. Okay, so the next question I'll ask. What is a deal breaker that you will never forgive? We'll start with juicy.

SPEAKER_06

Infidelity.

SPEAKER_05

Explain for the people that don't know what infidelity means.

SPEAKER_06

Someone who does things behind my back with someone who's not supposed to. Um betrayal.

SPEAKER_02

Infidelity, betrayal, and someone who commits adultery.

SPEAKER_04

What do you mean by adultery?

SPEAKER_02

Someone who was in a relationship for many years and is committed to that one individual and decides to give up the violence and everything, or that one person in marriage, and decides to do the total opposite after what he just committed himself to.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so your partner unfollow people you're uncomfortable with.

SPEAKER_07

No, I don't care about that.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_06

I feel like it depends.

SPEAKER_05

Depends on what.

SPEAKER_06

I don't know. The person, like, if I don't get along with somebody and you still follow them, which is weird, it gives weird. Like, why you follow me?

SPEAKER_07

A you issue? Well that depends. I feel like you can have a problem with them, but then how about like I mean, even though it even though it's respectfully they talk about, but they still friends.

SPEAKER_06

I feel like if you're friends with my options, you're out too. Like, I d I can't get along with someone that if I don't like somebody, they in their face. Because it's like then I can't really fuck with you, you know what I'm saying? I don't know that's my print. No, it's it's true.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, before you go. Well, yes and no. Because why should I unfollow someone who I may have known for many years, or someone who I grew up with, just because she doesn't get along with her, I have to unfollow that person. But I can agree to a certain extent as well, because if the person this something out of the ordinary, you know, and had a dispute with my girl, or like this something where she knows I was in a relationship and she tried to do something flirtatious, then yes, I wouldn't follow the person.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so I loved all of y'all's answers. We're gonna have a quick fire round. I'm gonna go around, ask a question. Y'all tell me how y'all feel about it. Okay, having a best friend of the opposite sex, how do you feel about it? We'll start with Brooklyn.

SPEAKER_07

To me, I don't care because you have to have the trust in your partner, no matter what the situation is. And if she feels that you shouldn't know, she will tell you.

SPEAKER_05

Do you see?

SPEAKER_06

I can agree with the trust part for sure. Like, if you have a female friend that you grew up with, that's fine. But like, you know, if there's nothing sexual, nothing going on, I'm all for it. It's just like I said, it's all about the respect. Mm-hmm. And having trust in your partner.

SPEAKER_02

It's all about the trust and building the respect and the loyalty amongst one each other. And if you don't have that in that relationship, then I don't know what else to tell you, my brother.

SPEAKER_05

Straight up. Straight up. Alright, sharing relationship problems with friends.

SPEAKER_06

I've never been a fan of letting people know my business, so I'm heavy on the keeping my business to myself and figuring it out. I'm not for the letting people know what I got going on, because they can be your friend one day and then the next they talking about you or telling the whole world what you got going on. Whole time you don't even know. So I like to keep my personal information, you know, to myself.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I think that every person should keep their personal problems to themselves and their personal relationships to themselves. Don't let everyone into your personal life because it can also destroy a relationship. But at the same time, people do need people to talk to and a shoulder to lean on. But it all depends on how much of a person knows about your personal life.

SPEAKER_05

Amen. Amen to that. I feel like it can ruin a relationship because people start to have opinions about your partner. It could be bad, it could be good. No matter how it's viewed, I'd still I still don't think it's the right thing to do. I've had to learn from personal experience myself. That's me being real. Brooklyn?

SPEAKER_07

I said. Hell the fuck not. Tell them the opposite of your business. And trust me, you see how fast your so-called loyal friends are to you.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, so for me, I feel like, you know, telling people things, especially if it's not your partner, it ruins your relationship. You well, at least me from personal experience, you know, you learn and you grow. Telling people things in your relationship can ruin your relationship because it can give people a certain perspective about your partner that they don't initially think until you tell them the information.

SPEAKER_07

And it opens up doors.

SPEAKER_05

It does.

SPEAKER_07

You don't want to people to know.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it does open up doors. Let's give a couple of words to describe your partner. We'll start with Brookham.

SPEAKER_07

Unforgivable, unbelievable, and I can't believe I'm still in it.

SPEAKER_06

Not so many words, but you know, you feel me.

SPEAKER_05

Alright. Juicy.

SPEAKER_06

I'll describe him as um someone who's affectionate, loving, supportive. He's like the star of the show. Every time he comes, he wants to dance. So if you're feeling down, he's like the person you can be around. I would like uplift your spirits. So just a fun soul, someone who just fun to be around. Goofy.

SPEAKER_04

Figo.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know why she's talking about it. She can't wait to get out, man. Because you ain't getting out of this relationship, baby girl. You know why?

SPEAKER_07

50 more years.

SPEAKER_00

Because you stuck with me for another 50 years.

SPEAKER_07

And I am this.

SPEAKER_02

For one, I find my woman to be amazing, entertaining, and the best thing that has ever come into my life because she's the first woman in over 50 years who has made me come out my chef.

SPEAKER_01

My chef. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Me, I would describe my partner as she is perfect in my eyes.

SPEAKER_07

Aww.

SPEAKER_05

No, being real, like.

SPEAKER_07

That's cute.

SPEAKER_05

To me, I know no relationship is perfect, but.

SPEAKER_07

Don't make me cry, bruh. Don't do this.

SPEAKER_05

She teaches me a lot. I've learned a lot from her and I've grown a lot from her.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Is it possible to love someone and not trust them?

SPEAKER_02

On my show, and you know what, man? Let me tell you something about this woman, man. This woman has been with me through the roughest times in my life, and I can honestly say that if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be sitting here telling you how much I love this woman today.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, so we got some quick fire questions for y'all. Who's more dramatic? Let's find a way.

SPEAKER_02

I thought you want to make a moon.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. I don't forgot the question, man.

SPEAKER_06

I say you are I say, oh my god, you'll probably still find you like here. He can express himself a little bit more.

SPEAKER_05

Alright. I say you see it. You know, she's like a taken time. Ready to explode at any time. At any time. Yeah. Okay, so the next question, who takes longer to get ready? What time would you think?

SPEAKER_06

I think I take longer.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, I do feel like you take longer. You know, you'd be thinking it's uh for men, I feel like it's kind of a one, two, three kind of thing. Where women are gonna get your hair, put on your laughs, makeup, and then after that, you still gotta wait for them to take a flower while you think in a flower, and then after you get out from thing in a flower, then they gotta get, you know, everything else, and then you gotta do the hair that they want. It's a whole process for women. But Brooklyn.

SPEAKER_07

I think I do, because I started the day before. To get ready to make sure everything is on point. But yeah, I think.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, Fuego.

SPEAKER_02

Hell yeah, she does she take like about two to three hours in the damn shower. Then she uses the restroom for like another two to three hours on top of that.

SPEAKER_05

Who is more likely to start an argument? We'll start with Fuego.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that's an easy one. Definitely her, man, because she's like an explosive firecracker, man.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, Brooklyn.

SPEAKER_07

First of all, give me this. It's him, because he has bipolar disorder, which you need therapy, okay? But it's all him, okay? Thank you. Wink wink.

SPEAKER_01

You got high blood pressure.

SPEAKER_07

You give me high blood pressure.

SPEAKER_03

Alright. What you be bathing with, right?

SPEAKER_07

Nah.

SPEAKER_05

Alright. Juicy, I I feel that she starts the arguments between me and her, but sometimes it can be me too. So it's 50-50 in my opinion. I don't think it's just her. That's me being real myself. Juicy, what do you think?

SPEAKER_06

I don't know, it depends. But I'll probably start a fight because I feel like I run a strict program. Like, I'm not with the mess, I'm not with things being unorganized or not being on time. So yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, who is more likely to end an argument? We're gonna start with you since you went last, you start first this one.

SPEAKER_06

I would say the both of us, but um, we'll probably be the first one to talk or about that first.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, Brooklyn.

SPEAKER_07

I say me because I killed them with the silence.

SPEAKER_03

Fuego. I would say the both of us, but okay.

SPEAKER_05

For me, I would say both of us also. Who's the better driver? We're gonna start with me. I'm starting first. First of all, I drive like a dude, so that's I think I'm the better driver because I can drive long distances.

SPEAKER_07

No, but I think you're more cautious of your state to state too, though.

SPEAKER_05

I feel like that makes you a better driver. If you can drive state to state and be cautious, that's what makes a good driver. I mean, is that not that's not what they teach you on the test?

SPEAKER_07

That's what makes it That's only the test.

SPEAKER_06

You gotta walk up, you know, to be honest.

SPEAKER_05

Alright. Juicy, what do you think?

SPEAKER_06

I feel like between the two of us, me and you, I'm the better driver. I feel like I can maneuver through traffic with without having to speed.

SPEAKER_05

So you're saying I can't maneuver through traffic is what you're trying to say.

SPEAKER_06

When you're driving, we'll probably get there in like three, four hours.

SPEAKER_05

Oh wow, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_06

I'll get there too.

SPEAKER_05

That's crazy, but okay, that's your opinion.

SPEAKER_06

I'm driving cautiously.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, that's your opinion. Fuego.

SPEAKER_00

Definitely me, of course, man. You know what I'm saying? Because I'm the man when it comes to driving.

SPEAKER_01

I can just drive, I can drive just about any vehicle there is, whether fixed it, manually, or without any gas. Like, come on, bruh. You know what they call me for the lessons, bruh.

SPEAKER_03

Alright, Brooklyn.

SPEAKER_07

Both good drivers.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, but you gotta do between you and him.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, both. I can't, it's I can't, but I like to speed. That's the difference. Me, I'm I'm meant to speak.

SPEAKER_01

I don't wait alone. You don't know very light stops and no, you've been watching all people across the sidewalk. That's what's so much, bruh.

SPEAKER_07

Don't let someone don't do that, don't do that. No, no, no. Okay? Next question, please.

SPEAKER_01

You know, when it's yellow, it slows down. You go on all three of them, bruh.

SPEAKER_06

Say hello, next. Next question.

SPEAKER_05

Who is more organized? We'll start start with Fuego.

SPEAKER_02

She's the more organized one in the relationship. Okay, Brooklyn.

SPEAKER_07

I definitely agree with him. I'm more organized. I make sure everything's in the space.

SPEAKER_05

Me, I would say Juicy's more organized than me. Juicy, what do you think?

SPEAKER_06

I think I'm the more organized between us two because I like having things in order. Um, I wouldn't say I have OCD, but I can't wake up and not do my best.

SPEAKER_05

Right, so the last question is who's more likely to hold the grudge in the relationship or just in general? We'll start with Juicy.

SPEAKER_06

I don't really hold grudges, but it depends on what somebody does, you know.

SPEAKER_05

Like So it's in me or you?

SPEAKER_06

I would say I do. I won't say me.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, I would say I would say her. She holds more grudges than I do. Brooklyn?

SPEAKER_07

I hold the grudges and I take it to the grave.

unknown

That's a fact.

SPEAKER_02

Fuego. I won't hold a grudge against you unless you violate me. If you violate me, I will have a grudge on you for the rest of my life, and you will regret the last time that you ever did something to me.

SPEAKER_05

I think today's conversation proves something. Nobody has a perfect relationship. Every couple has the beats, every couple has flaws. The goal isn't finding someone perfect, it's finding someone who you're willing to grow with. Thank you to all the couples for being honest, being open and willing to have these conversations. Thank you to everyone for listening. If you enjoyed this episode, make sure to follow Love Life and Lessons, leave a rating, and share the episode with someone who needs to hear it. Before we go, I'm gonna let everybody say goodbye. We're gonna start with Brooklyn.

SPEAKER_07

It was nice talking to y'all. Bye.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, guys, take care of yourselves. Thanks for having me on the show. And I hope you guys tune in.

SPEAKER_06

Until next time, y'all. It's always a pleasure to be on a podcast. Hopefully, we could talk about some juicy topics on the next episode.

SPEAKER_05

And we're dropping new episodes every Wednesday. So tune in every Wednesday. I hope y'all learn something again on Love, Life, and Lessons. And we out of the Jesus.
