Hey guys, I am Dark Desert Highway. And I was thinking, you know, if I had 30 minutes to tell you something about the Lord, what would I say? And I've gathered some scriptures and notes together to say those things to you. So first we have to begin with an introduction. Possibly you don't know the Lord. How do you begin a relationship with God? Is what we're going to talk about. I want to talk about a relationship with God, with Jesus. And a relationship starts with the introduction. So if you haven't introduced yourself to the Lord, you can take a position within yourself where you have come to a place that you believe that Jesus is Lord, that he is the crowned king of heaven and earth. So you accept his leadership position and role about your life. Jesus, you are Lord. You are King. I believe that you do exist, and I believe that God raised you from the dead. Like this is just the way history has unfolded itself. But I wasn't there for it. It happened before I was here, but I'm going to put my faith in your word that you are Lord, that your words are true, and that you did what you said you did and accomplished what you said you accomplished. And I'm going to take it on faith that this is the historical record of events of the times before I was even around. That's what he is asking us to do. So introduce yourself to him, and then he will introduce himself to you by baptizing you with the Holy Spirit and giving you the deposit of your faith. The guarantee of your salvation comes in the form of the Holy Spirit. He seals you with his Holy Spirit, and now you belong to him. You have been redeemed by what the Lord has accomplished in all of our lives. But now you've come to a place where you accept what he has accomplished as the reality of the way things have basically gone down. Okay, so he introduces himself to you and you begin a relationship. As the one who has now entered an agreement with you that he is your God and you are his person. We are his people. You belong to him. And until we leave this sinful mortal body and come into the life that's hidden in him with a heavenly body which will be perfect and without fault. In it, in this new body that we'll have, there will no longer be the sinfulness that we were born with. It's a new body, a heavenly body. And you know heaven is a place to be occupied. Heaven is a place where you go. There's a city, and there is um let's look at John fourteen two through three. John chapter fourteen two through three. Don't let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also, and you know the way to where I am going. Lord Thomas said, We don't know where you're going. How can we know the way? Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and seen him. So there is a space for us that has been prepared by Jesus Christ to stand in. Um it doesn't say that we're gonna get a mansion, it says that um he's going to prepare a place for you. And isn't that what we spend our whole lives trying to accomplish for ourselves, anyways? Is a place that we can occupy. That's why we work, that's um we work so that we have our own living space. Well, God has prepared a living space for us in heaven, um, and he is going to come back and get us and lead us to this place that he has prepared for us. Um, so we have the promises. He gives us his promises and his expectations in the way that we are supposed to conduct our life as belonging to the Lord. We are now to humble ourselves, to first identify and become familiar with what his word says. Then we are to take on his instruction and get rid of our disobedience to his holy ways. His ways are holy, and he will lead you and guide you into your relationship with him since you have introduced yourself to him, and he has introduced himself to you, and you are sealed with the Holy Spirit, and it's time that we grow up in the Holy Spirit that we are given. Um, he will help us, the Holy Spirit will help us understand, and he will reveal spiritual things to us that we had not previously known, because it is the Spirit who quickens us, he he grows us up in the knowledge of God and makes us alive to spiritual things and principles and expectations and pretty much the governing dynamics of how God has set up his new kingdom because you are a partaker, you are you're a person in his kingdom now. Um so let's go all the way back to the beginning of this statement that I have made, and we'll start with the introduction. So let's go to 1 Corinthians 15. Let's start with the knowledge, the knowledge of what Jesus has done for us. First Corinthians 15, one through four. Now I want to make clear for you, brothers and sisters, the gospel I preach to you, which you received, on which you have taken your stand, and by which you are being saved. If you hold to the message I preach to you, unless you believed in vain. For I passed on to you as most important important what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried, and he was raised up on the third day according to the scriptures. So that's what Jesus did for us, okay? And it's part of us accepting what Jesus has done for us on our um on behalf of us. Uh this is part of the knowledge that I need to incorporate into my life. Um, let's go to first John. First John two twenty five. So, what has he promised us? He has done the work, he has fulfilled the law, and therefore, by his death, burial, and resurrection, he has secured the um atonement that was necessary to be made by covering us in his blood that he spilled on Calvary, he uses that to buy us, to purchase us, with and this this purchase came with a price. And the price was that God had to die in order to win salvation for us, and it's through his blood a new covenant has been made. Um let's look at that new covenant. Uh let's look at what Jesus will do for us. Let's look at what God will do for us according to this new covenant that He's made. Let's look at Ezekiel 36. Let's look at the uh things that God does on our behalf. Ezekiel 36, 25 through 27. He says, I will also sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all of your impurities and idols, I will give you a new heart, and put a new spirit within you. I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will place my spirit within you, and cause you to follow my statutes and carefully observe my ordinances. So um we have the promises. These are promises that he's made. He's saying that he will take us and sprinkle us with clean water, and he will cleanse us from all our impurities and our idols. Um he will give us a new heart and put a new spirit within you. That's the Holy Spirit, and he'll remove the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will place my spirit within you and cause you to follow my statutes and carefully observe my ordinances. So it's what he's going to do for us on our behalf, and then what we are to do because we have received such a great salvation. Because we have received such a great salvation, we should um follow his statutes and carefully observe his ordinances. We're going to be motivated to set off the old ways of living and put on um and invest in a new spiritual life that we have. Uh let's look at um first John. So, what is the promise? What has he promised us? First John chapter two, verse twenty-five. This is the promise that he has made to us. And this is the promise, verse twenty-five, that he himself made to us eternal life. Jesus has promised us eternal life. So what do we do? Because we understand what God did for us, what do we do in response to what God has done for us? Let's look at um Acts three. Um nineteen Acts three. Nineteen through twenty. So he says, Therefore, repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may see send Jesus, who he has appointed for you as the Messiah. So we are supposed to repent and turn back, so that our sins may be forgiven. Let's look at Acts two thirty-seven through forty-three. When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter with the rest of apostles, brothers, what should we do? Peter replied, Repent, and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, for the promise is for you and for your children and for all those who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call. With many other words he testified and strongly urged them, saying, Be saved from this corrupt generation. So we are to repent. Now that this relationship has started, because I introduced myself to God through my confession. Well, what am I supposed to confess? There's a confession that needs to be made, and this is how we initiate our relationship with Him. This is the starting point. Let's look at Romans 10. Verse 9 through 13 says, If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. For the scripture says, Everyone who believes on him will not be put to shame, since there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, because the same Lord of all richly blesses all who call on him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. So there's two things that need to be in place in our life. Um to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, to accept His His position as the Lord. Jesus, you are Lord. Confess with your mouth. Now, this confession in the original uh Greek text is the same type of confession that you would make to a judge in a courthouse where you would say, Yes, I'm guilty, or no, I'm innocent. It's a confession that has um legal precedence, it has a legal standing, uh, it's a legal statement of confession. So that's what we're supposed to do. We're supposed to confess as if you were testifying to the truth about who Jesus is. Jesus, you are Lord. And then we believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead. Now look, we weren't around for this. We we weren't around for this, but we have to have faith. It's by faith that we are saved, not by works. So there is no work that we can work to be saved, but by faith, our salvation, um, and that that is how um this has all been designed to work is by faith. So even though we weren't here for it, we've heard about it and now we believe it that Jesus did what he said he did and accomplished what he said he accomplished. And what are we saying? That Jesus died for our sins and rose again on the third day. Um let's look at uh Revelation 2 verse 7. So more promises. Revelation 2 verse 7 says, Let anyone who has ears to hear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches, to the one who conquers, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. So the promise is the right to eat from the tree of life, giving us everlasting life to those who overcome the world. So, what does it mean to overcome the world? How do you overcome the world? Let's look at first John chapter five, uh, verse one through five. Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. This is how we know that we love God's children, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is what love for God is, to keep his commands, and his commands are not a burden, because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. There it is. Everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world, our faith. Who is the one? This is the secret right here. Who is the one who conquers the world, but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? Jesus Christ, he is the one that came by water and blood. Not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies because the Spirit is truth. And that Spirit is the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, that will be given to us as a sign and a seal that what we believed is valid. It validates our confession of faith. So we we know what God did for us, we accept what God did for us, we confess that what He has done, He has done, and then we receive the Holy Spirit as a token, as a guarantee, a down payment to our salvation, and the Spirit is the one who testifies about Jesus Christ. The Spirit will live inside of you, and he will grow you up in the knowledge of God. Um so let's look at um Ephesians one talking about the Spirit 13 through 14. In him you were also sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed. The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance until the redemption of the possession to the praise of his glory. So we're talking about a relationship that God wants to start with us, and we must take the steps in order to trigger a response from the Lord. And if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Who is the one who overcomes the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Christ? Okay, so now we've confessed, we've made our confession, um, we have overcome the world by his work, by our faith, by our faith in his work, and uh he gives us a present. He gives us his Holy Spirit, he will fill you up and grow you up in the knowledge of God, he will quicken you, and this is a process of giving you information that you did not previously have. He will reveal spiritual things to you through um uh your relationship with him. Now, heaven is a place to be occupied, heaven is not. Heaven is not far away. We're surrounded by heaven on a daily basis. And we can actively participate in heavenly realms right now by our obedience, by turning away and repenting, by repenting from our sins, turning away from the lifestyle that we had before we were saved, and by submitting to the statutes and ordinances of God, by being obedient to the Lord. The Lord says, If you love me, obey my commandments, and I will manifest myself to you. Let's look at that real quick. If you love me, obey my commandments, and I will manifest myself. Let's look at John 14, 21. So Jesus gives the evidence. But you have to have faith first. Faith is first, faith is fundamental. It's the first step that you take, is by having faith in what God did for you. Then comes the proof where he shows up in the form of his Holy Spirit and is given to you to testify that your confession of faith is valid. It's valid. And we get the evidence after the faith. So faith is first. Let's look at John 14, 21. Says, the one who has my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my father. I will also love him and will reveal myself to him. So this is a promise of evidence that Jesus is going to manifest himself in our life. Now we have the evidence that we can testify to others because we believed first, we received second, and now we testify. Because the Spirit testifies of Jesus Christ, and we testify of Jesus Christ, that this is real. And that's my message to you is that this is all very, very real. This is the way that has been made through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He died for our sins, God raised him from the dead, he crowned him king, and gave him the name Lord of Lords and King of Kings. And his position right now is one of authority. He is now the ruler of heaven and earth. Something that had been lost to Adam from Adam. Adam lost it in the garden through the very first sin of mankind. And he lost the dominion, was what he lost. Dominion was given to men, and then Adam sinned, and then the dominion was lost to man, and it became about whoever was stronger, whoever won their wars would have dominion, whoever was strongest. Then Jesus came and through his death, burial, and resurrection, won the dominion back to himself. So now he is king, and everything is subject to him. And this is the message that Jesus died and rose again. And even though I wasn't there for it, I believe it. I believe it like I believe that George Washington was the first president. Why? Why do I believe this? Because I read it in a book, uh, because I heard about it from somebody else. It's the same principle that works in our lives today. I read about it in a book, I heard about it from somebody else. I believed that it happened. And then um, but this is different. This is different because you start to receive things from God. He's active in your relationship, and he will validate that what you believe is true. Try it, try believing, just try believing and watch him work, watch him come to life in your life. Um, and that's my message for you today. I hope that you got something out of it. Um, I'll see you next time.
