How's it going, guys? Dark Desert Highway here, and today I want to talk about a relationship with God, with Jesus. A relationship starts with the introduction. So if you haven't introduced yourself to the Lord, you can take a position within yourself where you have come to a place that you believe that Jesus is Lord, that you accept his leadership position and role about your life. You are Lord, you are King. I believe that you do exist. And I believe that God raised you from the dead. Like this is just the way history has unfolded itself, and I wasn't there for it. It happened before I happened to be here. But I'm going to put my faith in your word, that your words are true, and that you did what you said you did, and you accomplished what you said that you accomplished, and I'm going to take it on faith that this is the historical record of the events of the times before I was even around. That's what he's asking us to do. So you introduce yourself to him, then he introduces himself to you by baptizing you with the Holy Spirit and giving you the deposit of your faith, the guarantee of your salvation, comes in the form of the Holy Spirit. He seals you, S-E-A-L, He seals you with His Spirit, and you now belong to Him. You have been redeemed by what the Lord has accomplished in all of our lives, but you have you have now accepted what He has accomplished as the reality of the way things have basically gone down. He introduces Himself to you, you begin a relationship, He gives you His Word, and in His Word you can find the expectations of Him as a husband, as the one who now has entered an agreement with you that He is your God and you are His person. We are His people. You belong to Him, He has redeemed you from a life of death and separation from God into a life of life hidden with Him till we leave this sinful mortal body and come into the life that's hidden in Him with a heavenly body, a new suit of clothes, you might say, to wear that is perfect and without fault. It no longer has the sinfulness that we were born with. It is a new body, a heavenly body. And you know, heaven is a place to be occupied. He says that where I go, um let's let's look at that. Um let's look at that really quick. In my father's house, there are many rooms. My father's house has many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, that you also may be where I am. So there is a promise that room will be made for you that you may occupy in a structure. Um you have a place. And what a great promise! A new body and a area to occupy is ours. So we have the promises. He gives us his promises, and he gives us his expectations in the way that we are supposed to conduct our life as belonging to the Lord. We are now to humble ourselves, to first identify and become familiar with what his word says. Then we are to take on his instruction and get rid of our disobedience to his holy ways. Um, his ways are holy, and he will lead you and guide you in your relationship with him since you have introduced yourself to him, and he has introduced himself to you, you are sealed with the Holy Spirit, and it's time that we grow up. The spirit that we are given will help us to understand, it will reveal spiritual things that before we had not been able to know because it is the spirit who quickens us or makes us alive to spiritual things, and this is all you know really poised on the principle or or in expectation that you as an individual will study and seek out what you have found to be true about the Lord, that he is Lord, and that God has raised him from the dead, and you'll have you'll be motivated. Um, I was after being baptized in the Holy Spirit because I had realized that something real had taken place, uh, something spiritual had taken place, and I needed to identify what this thing was because it happened to me, and I was like, whoa, what was that? And it's a physical, real, realistic thing that happens to us today. It has to do with our confession that Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead, our belief in our heart, and and we receive a deposit. Um uh, and you're baptized in the Holy Spirit, and this Holy Spirit is the one who reveals spiritual things to you that before you couldn't understand. But when you look into the words of the Bible, he will bring to light spiritual things, and you'll go from a place of not knowing to a place of knowing about something, and you may not even have someone else tell you, like a person-to-person interchange, uh exchange, um, where you hear about the news from somebody else, you will now hear um about these new things directly from the Holy Spirit because he is alive in you, uh, the Lord is alive in heaven, his word is living, and you will begin to understand things by yourself. And how does that happen? How how do you go from a place where you don't know something to a place where you do know something without somebody telling you about it? Well, you don't need a person to tell you about it, God Himself will instruct you in the truth and grow you up in the knowledge of Him, and that's one of the roles that the Holy Spirit takes um charge of in our lives after we confess that he is Lord and after we believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, but we need to personally take time to spend a portion of our day or a portion of our week investing into our relationship with the Lord by opening up his word so that he may speak to us and the Holy Spirit can reveal to us spiritual truths. Let's look back at John chapter 14, verse 1. Don't let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many runes. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also. You know the way where I am going. Lord Thomas said, We do not know where you are going. How can we know the way? Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will also know my Father. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.
