Support from friends and family in recovery
Ray RayHello everyone. Welcome to Two Girls, One Mike, Season 2. I'm Ray Ray. The Long Con Apologies and Admissions. Before we continue, Toby wants to acknowledge the people who have reached out personally. Those who apologized, recognized their part in the story, or simply offer their love and support. Sometimes we don't realize how much one small action, decision, or moment of silence can impact someone's life until it's too late. Taking accountability matters, and so does choosing to show up when someone needs you. To everyone who has sent a message, checked in, apologized, or simply said, I'm here, thank you. It means more than you know. And if you or someone you know is struggling or thinking about suicide or self-harm, please reach out for support in Canada. You can call or text 988. The 988 Suicide Crisis Hotline is open 24-7. Small actions can cause harm, but small actions can also make a difference. Welcome, Toby.
TobyHi friends, this is Toby, and uh this is my story. So just like Rebray said, thanks to everybody. Um, I didn't expect to get the attention that we got from this. And so there's a few mentions that I would um like to say, but I also just kind of want to go over the idea of the podcast and why we did it in the first place. So first I want to shout out to the Switch. Um, that will be her name. She sent me a message and said, I'm sorry for everything. I just listened to your podcast and I didn't know half the shit you went through. And then I believed the shit Phantom Mother would say. I'm proud of you for airing it all out. That means the absolute world hearing something like that. Um
Introduction and overview of Toby’s story
Tobybrought to tears by it. And it's I'm grateful for it. And I'm glad this is getting somewhere other than just pissing people off because it's not the reason why we started this. Um, I also want to give a shout out to the neighbor. She said, it's so gross that the Phantom Mother made everyone believe that Toby was the unstable one and the bad parent, and the lap dog just let her go off. That's also pretty great. Um, shout out to my unbiological kid. Toby, I'm so proud of you for telling your story. Thanks, kid. I also want to give a shout out to somebody who's they're not mad about the podcast in any way. Um, but they're a little bit mad that they didn't get a cool nickname or any recognition. They just got, you know, some guy in his fucking corndog. So I want to give a huge shout out to corndog Carl. Line for the podcast. So that's where it's gonna shoot me into the next thing I wanted to talk about. When we're doing these episodes and I'm reliving everything and I'm talking about it, the trauma in the PTSD is so real. So my emotions come out hard. I understand why the two of you got in the way. I understand why you were doing what you were doing. I understand why people hated me at some times. I am not going after anybody's job. I am way too tired. I've been through the ringer, but I
The emotional impact of reliving trauma
Tobyjust kind of the emotions are wild. It's like a waterfall. So I'm not trying to be offensive. I am not trying to belittle one or talk down to anyone. Only two people are mad that I've heard so far, probably three, because you know the enabler. You'll hear about her later. So the people that are mad. It has been seven years of this. Seven years and not once have I told my story. You got to tell your story. You got to tell my story from your POV. This is me simply telling my story from my POV. P.O.V. is point of view for anybody watching who is like a boomer or older. This story isn't about you. It unfortunately involves you. But this story is about me. You can talk about me throwing people under the buses with incorrect grammar, but I threw myself under the bus. I had two peace bonds, I've been in trouble with the law, and I had a heavy addiction. And I have been honest with every person about it since my sobriety from the very beginning of my sobriety. Every single corner of my life knows about it. So, what are you gonna tell people? I already told them. Nobody shit talks to me better than me, but you can keep trying. I don't even fully hate any of you. I hope you thrive. I hope you find your peace. I hope the resentment you have towards me for literally zero reason goes away. I pray you eat. Just not at my fucking table. For the people listening in the back, this one's just for my own personal self. I did not steal the lapdog away from Judas.
Toby’s journey through issues and addiction
TobyUh, she she keeps saying that, but this is the one time him and I have a story that matches up. So yeah, you do you, boo. This has been an eye-opener for me in so many ways. Telling some of these stories has brought me to a bigger realization that I refuse to go backwards in life. I will not go backwards, I will only go forwards. I'm not currently fighting with the lapdog. We co-parent. My children are happy. This is my story. This is real life. And I know it's entertaining for you, but this is what I went through. You don't technically have a right to be mad at it. Um, so far, the only question left that I got that was unanswered, somebody reached out. The 17-year-old mentioned is not the Phantom Mother. Those are two separate people. And the last thing I want to say. For seven years, I have gone through this. I have been quiet and I cried to the people who would listen, the only people that I had left. And for seven years, it was the same bullshit and the same story, and me being a drunk and me needing help because I'm stuck in a city without a vehicle and weird man's house, and I'm probably gonna get essayed, and I need you to come get me. And so, to the two people who saw me through every single bullshit thing I've ever done and watched me fall and stayed to help me get back up. Ray Ray and the husband, you guys have no idea how grateful I am for you. Don't think I would be here today without the love and support that you guys give me. And how many times you've had to save me.
Ray RayWell, we do it anytime, of course, because you're you're you're his little sister.
TobyHe's the best big brother a girl could ask for.
Toby & Ray RayYeah, and you're my best friend, so I love you. I love you.
TobyWell,
