Hey everyone, it's Lainey and Natasha. And we are with Impact Wellness Network. If you are not familiar with Impact Wellness Network, it is a treatment facility that offers help for mental health and substance use. We have seven locations across five different states. And we're gonna start kind of talking a little bit more about, you know, who we are, what we do, and the importance of all of that, and kind of get into that. So Natasha and I have worked with primarily families of those who struggle with substance use and mental health. And that's kind of our niche. So any of our family members out there, if you're listening, or if you have a loved one who struggles with substance use or mental health, hopefully we can help to bring you some knowledge, education, wisdom, maybe some laughs along the way as you get to know us. But that's really what we want to talk about. So the main thing we want to do just in this first episode is really kind of just talk about Impact Wellness Network, kind of, you know, what our design is, um kind of what that looks like and what we can offer to people. So um, yeah, I feel like I've talked a lot here. No, you're doing great. You're doing great. So I guess let's just start off with um, you know, I'll ask Natasha this question. What would you say is your favorite thing about Impact Wellness Network?
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's a loaded question. It is because it you know, everyone says it's the food. That is true. The food at all locations is phenomenal. Um for me, it's the integrated services, it's the treating of the mind, body, and spirit. So when the client comes in the treatment, yes, there are tons of services that are being offered to help the clients find balance mind, body, and spirit. Um, but they also have integrated services that allows families to be involved in the process. And in my 25-year career, I've never seen anything like it. So I'm super, you know, maybe I'm a little biased, but that's really a favorite part for me is knowing that the families get to be a part of the process and they get to learn as well, and they get to start a healing journey as well with their loved ones.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. Uh I think that's probably, you know, one of my favorite parts too. Um, you know, being a family member of someone who struggles um with substance use and mental health. Families don't often get that phone call of how are you? Um and families struggle, right? Like it's a family disease. And so, um, again, if you're any family member out there, um, let me just kind of give you a little bit of a rundown of you know what Impact Wellness Network does offer for families. Um Natasha, please jump in if I miss anything because one brain is not always the best. Um so the way that it typically works with um Impact Wellness Network, um, you know, your loved ones come into treatment and they go through a continuum of care. There's different levels that are kind of involved in that. Um, and if you're not familiar with the process, you don't know what that is. And so upon them entering treatment, um they do go through, you know, a series of assessments. And part of that assessment is to identify, you know, their primary support, right? Whether that be mom, dad, brother, sister, wife, husband, you know, whatever your relationship is, that's what they're going to do. They're going to try to identify that person. Once they identify that person, um they then they then make a referral to a family program coordinator. And that family program coordinator is really there for the family. Their entire job and passion is to reach out to the family members, um, check in with them, get to know them. The first phone call is usually a little bit of an orientation of the facility over the phone. And then you as a family member get to also go through your own assessment, um, which I have worked at, you know, quite a few different facilities. And I don't think there's a facility out there that takes in, you know, the consideration of a family assessment. Um so once we do that family assessment, we then like to plug our families into ongoing services to provide support. Um, so those services, you know, include a weekly group, um, which is a mix of psychoeducation and support. It includes um weekly phone calls to, you know, stay connected while your loved one is in treatment. Um, it includes opportunities to build a community with other family members. Um, and one of our biggest things that everyone always loves is our retreat that we have twice a year at each of our locations. So it's it's a well-rounded approach. Um, and the approach that we offer for families is is a similar approach to what you know your loved ones are getting in treatment. We want to make sure that as your loved ones go through the process, that you also are being a part of the process as well. So we want to make sure that we provide that um to you throughout that.
SPEAKER_01Well, and can I add, you know, when you said earlier about that community of support, a lot of times, and I know in my own personal experience, family members feel like they're oftentimes alone when they're going through this process. And when you're when you're impacted by your loved one's addiction, you feel like you're the only one that's going through it. You don't know who to talk to, no one really understands. Um, so that community of support is so important because when you join the online support group or you're attending the retreat, you're learning that there's so many other families that are impacted by addiction and that you're not alone. So I think that alone just um helps a great deal, knowing that you can come together with other people and know that other people understand what you're going through and you can finally get support too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. And, you know, that's why we're creating this podcast. So right now, I know sometimes reaching out to support can be really scary. Um, you know, again, as a family member who's gone through this, uh, Natasha has as well. She's been a family member of this as well. Um, we know that sometimes, you know, there's a lot of shame and stigma that's around it. So we hope through this podcast we can give you some support and know that you're not alone. Um and when you are ready to reach out to get that support, maybe you're someone who struggles with substance use or mental health, or maybe you're a family member of someone. Um, we're gonna give you that support until you're ready to reach out. And, you know, as long as as long as we're still here, we'll be that support for you. Um and we'll definitely, you know, do what we can provide that education. So we hope that you will come back for episode two where we'll dive a little bit more into each individual topic to give you some education and knowledge. Um, this is a nice little taste of what the family services is like. Um we want to bring this to you wherever you are at so that you can feel that community um, you know, in the presence of your car, your home, um, you know, whatever it may be. And then, like I said, once you're ready to take that step, then, you know, we're gonna be here waiting to offer you more than really what you could imagine. So um thanks for hanging out with us. And we will be back next time for episode two. So all right. See you next time.
