The year is around 1900, and we are in a busy laboratory in Russia, looking at a very focused scientist named Ivan Pavlov, who ended up winning the Nobel Prize in 1904. But here is the funny thing. Pavlov wasn't a psychologist. He wasn't trying to study the brain or learning or feelings at all.

Then, right after, he would give the dogs some yummy food.
