This week, the friends fill their sandwich with all the things they know about Spiderman and Summer House (multiverses in their own rights).
For the Top Slice of Bread we have the butt of the roll. They were still too focused on the jump (pre-loaf) to really do anything but lock the rest of the sandwich in.
For our Bacon Beatrice teaches Lexi all she needs to know before going to 'Spiderman: Brand New Day' ahead of its release... While trying her best not to deliver too many spoilers. It also involves Lexi trying to inform Beatrice, why she should care about Summer House in relation to last week's Bacon.
Mixed in are some unexpected tangent tomatoes of questions that lead to l(ettuce)ots of jokes and trying to understand how both of these multiverses tie together all things pop culture.
The bottom slice of Bread feels a bit like sourdough... Beatrice brags about seeing The Meg Stalter in Oh Mary on Broadway. Before her Bronchitis... Before most people knew it was Meg... :)! and Lexi tries her best to make her weekend sound interesting after that. Tough to get through, but Worth It!
Sprinkled in throughout are giggles, just as easy as some people skip mayo & only use butter to dress a BLT... interesting!
If you have any questions about the ingredients this week (or last week... yes Lexi knows she missed telling Beatrice there was a Beatrice on Love Island this year), or suggestions for future ingredients, please email them to: therealbltpod@gmail.com

Welcome to the VLT pod. I'm Beatrice. I'm unboxing. And we're gonna fill the tea on our latest curiosity.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, um, we like to stand.
SPEAKER_00Still working on my heart's still like nothing. I literally couldn't tell where you were going.
SPEAKER_02Electric. Okay. But I made it.
SPEAKER_05Um, okay.
SPEAKER_02Um today we're gonna be talking about, I'm gonna be talking about Spider-Man verse universe, all things Marvel.
SPEAKER_05And I'm gonna be talking about all things summerhouse summerhouse verse. All things summerhouse verse. Yeah. And we both have equal blind spots.
SPEAKER_02Yes, this is our disclaimer that a lot of this is our opinionated, very, very biased approach to what we're talking about. Yes. Um very very light research or minimal. So it's not why, you know, if you've never, if you don't know anything about Spider-Man or House verse Summer House. Summer House.
SPEAKER_05Then you'll learn it here. Yes.
SPEAKER_06And before we get too into it, what we do here on the BLT Pod is we sandwich pop culture and just chit-chatting, yapping, opinions, thoughts, tangents. And that's what we're gonna do today.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Alright, so. What do you know about Spider-Man? The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_06I know that there Spider-Man is in Marvel.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_06And he was at with the Adventures. Adventures. Avengers, Avengers, Avengers, yes. He was with the Avengers, um, he's in all of them and has his own movie. Yeah. Um, and I know that Andrew Garfield and Toby McGuire were also Spider-Man and they did the meme in a movie. I don't know how they were all together. How they all I don't know how we have multiple Spider-Man, but I do know that Zende and Tom are the most recent, and they got married, and congratulations to them. And before that, um Emma um Emma Stone. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield um loved each other, but then broke up. But you know, for yeah, yes, and then the first one, Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.
SPEAKER_04Yes, you're so right. Congrats.
SPEAKER_02Kirsten Dunst? Yay, okay. And um but you don't understand like the Spider-Man story or why it's being retold, like what's No.
SPEAKER_06Oh, I do know he was bit by a spider, and that's how he got his powers. Special powers. His special powers.
SPEAKER_02But that's what I got for you. Do you want an introduction to like the Spider-Man story or to the more like a loose Marvel universe?
SPEAKER_06Well, I wanna watch all of before the last movie comes out on December 18th, because everyone's talking about it, I want to watch all of them.
SPEAKER_02Like Captain America to now?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I'm gonna watch the whole thing except for X-Men, because I heard that's too much.
SPEAKER_02That is too much. And X-Men is its own thing. Yeah. It's like Marvel, but not right.
SPEAKER_06So I'm gonna watch it, but I also know the Spider-Man movie's coming out. So if I can have enough to watch a Spider-Man movie, because I'm not too worried about like I've already seen Black Panther and I've seen Captain Marvel. Those are the only two Marvel movies I've seen, so I'm okay with watching the Spider-Man movie and then going to start with Marvel. Scratch. So I want to kind of be ready to watch this movie and know what's going on.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I will do my best because I also need some refreshers. I will do my best to explain everything that I know. I don't know everything though. Um, so back in 2002, this might be just like a string of like random facts that I know that are then then you can actually connect. Tingly spidey senses. You know what that means?
SPEAKER_05You know what that means. It means his powers are really strong.
SPEAKER_02So in 2002, first Spider-Man movie comes out. Okay. It's Toby Maguire, it's a big deal. It's important to note that it was shot before 9-11. And they had to reshoot a lot of things after. And also prepared for 9-11. Okay, please continue. And also they reshot stuff after, okay. To make it close to what New York looks like now. Okay. That's why when you go back and watch it, there's a lot of like New York strong like scenes added. I don't think there were as many um when they first shot it. So in the first one, he's gets bit.
SPEAKER_06In the first Toby Maguire movie, other than the 9-11 stuff. Which see, I I can't even explain all of them because I don't know. It's okay, you don't have to explain all of them. But why is Tobey why are there three different Spider-Mans? Maybe I'll ask that question. Because money. Right, okay.
SPEAKER_02Because people on the exec board were like, that storm makes a lot of money. Which makes sense because Spider-Man, I guess the reason why I like Spider-Man is he's he's like your neighbor, friendly neighborhood kid who, um, in the story that is told several times, he loses his uncle to like a petty theft. Oh. Mm-hmm. And his aunt, depending on the universe, is like a single, you know, single mom raising him. He doesn't have his parents around. That's important later, because his parents are connected to like So when you say his has his aunt, depending on which universe, what how does that differ? He definitely in every universe has an aunt, but if she's like an older woman, if she's like younger, that kind of depends. So that I guess is a good um important thing to note, like there's a few several Spider-Man movies come out, and I think around the time Andrew Garfield was doing his thing, which with those, it was again just kind of like re retelling the story, like pretending that there was no other Spider-Man movies previously. Okay. Um when Tom Holland came around and they did round three, that was when everything in the Marvel Universe was starting to really overlap. Um, and I'm pretty sure after his second movie they did Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse, which is the animated movie. I have seen that one, I was gonna say I've seen that one with my nephew. Okay, so that's very helpful that you've already seen it because that kind of explains that there's a lot of different Spider-Man in different universe doing the very similar thing, but like in their own context. Right, where they all have that same like neighborhood kid. Okay, yeah, yeah, okay. Or just like, I don't yeah, again, it's like how you interpret that.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, so think of have have that in mind when you're seeing the most recent Spider-Man that came out, which is where all three Toby Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland showed up. Okay. Uh it was actually, I mean, it was Tom Holland figuring things out. Time and space are being like warped, and Tommy Maguire and Andrew Garfield show up to help Tom Holland because they're coming from different like parallel universes.
SPEAKER_06So is there like one common enemy they're fighting in that movie that they need for that to happen? Okay, so like they all have like the same like neighborhood spider, and like that's why you love Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because there's like different universes and they're all doing the same thing, but in their own timeline. That's so cute.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I'm speaking of really cute. I did the cutest thing there.
SPEAKER_02That's me. Wait. That's me. I don't know how old I am, but let's still make that face. No, wait. You know what? You want to know what's funny? I don't know who that boy is. I mean, I recognize that I'm in my grandparents' home, but like I don't know who he is. Like maybe he's the real Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_05You met the real Spider-Man and you had no idea. And he was like, But I mean, I'm wearing a suit, so I feel like that's a good idea.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, maybe that was just kind of like Yeah, but it's kind of like when kids go to Disney and it's like, oh cute, you're gonna pretend to be me, and then like they're in front of the yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I like that. Yeah. I love that. Yeah, I think I always loved superheroes and like fantasy stuff as a kid because it was like you could there's so much make-believe, so much possibility. Um and I like that with the spider verse, there is a lot of that, and then there's a lot of he's of the superheroes, he's really witty with his he always jokes with his villains, like as he's beating him up, he's like making all these jokes. Yeah. Um, and still like a lonely teenager. Like I the the memes about him, like the most recent trailer coming out, and him, everyone saying, like, oh like Spider-Man is lonely and depressed, like, we're so bad.
SPEAKER_06Wait, okay, right, because weren't there like this is also Zendaya, there's not only Zendaya in the press cycles, there's also a friend. But yeah, no Spider-Man had a friend. And also, why don't and you might not want to you might not want to spoil it for me, but why does it feel like MJ doesn't know him? Wait, so you saw okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you need to watch it and then we can tell him. No, but can you tell me why? No, no, some of them, you know how I I can't give I can't give it away. Okay. It's not all breakout. That people thinks people have to move on. Ned, okay. And in a lot of movies or a lot of like retellings of the Spider-Man movie, Ned Leeds is his best friend in real life, like in high school, their best buds, and then Ned is like also a super fan of Spider-Man. And there's that like, what do I do? Like, my best friend likes this part side of me. Sounds like Hannah Montana.
SPEAKER_04Maybe you don't know. Never mind. Never mind. I don't know those who know, yes, it's like Hannah Montana and Lily is what I'm getting from here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I didn't grow up with Montana. An important thing to note going into seeing the new Spider-Man movie is at the very end of Spider-Man No Way Home, after everyone goes back to their universe and everything's resolved, he has to to save his own identity as Spider-Man, he has to erase the memory of everyone he knew. Because in that movie, it's like he's like discovered. They're like, oh, that's Peter Barker, Spider-Man. Oh, and so a big part of going into this movie is he's like still in love with MJ and also, you know, wants to be friends with Ned and like is watching them from afar.
SPEAKER_06That's so sad. That makes so much sense. Okay. Alright, and that's gonna I'm that's gonna make more sense to me once were all the Peter Parker's revealed or just the Tom Holland Peter Parker? Just the Tom Holland and Peter Parker. Okay. So they came to Tom Holland's Peter Parker timeline. Yes. Okay. Yeah. So does the are these happening at the same time of or after Marvel?
SPEAKER_02Simultaneously. So that's when it I think what I know is I remember seeing like some of the Spider-Man movies and then Captain America and followed it pretty or I guess Iron Man. Like Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk again, um other ones because it's been so long. And then Endgame. What Civil War was another big one, like Avengers movies. That was the guy with the metal arm that came out of the tent at the end of Black Panther.
SPEAKER_01Who was Winter Soldier? Okay.
SPEAKER_02And he's important because he is friends with good friends with Captain America, Estranged, it's complicated. It's really complicated. Okay. Um I remember Endgame watching it in theaters, everyone was so psyched because it was like all the universe is colliding. Like Black Panther was there, Captain America, Spider-Man. What you need to know going into watching the Marvel universe is like there's a lot of overlap, and I think from the if you start with like Iron Man, it really ramps up. Okay. It's kind of like a an L curve where it like you notice it a little bit. Relaxy. Yeah. L relaxy. Um it's not as noticeable, and then like by Avengers Endgame, it's like every I feel it feels like every scene, there's like a reference to something else. Another thing to note going into it is there's always a teaser for the next movie at the very end of the credits. So that's why I the metal arm man was there.
SPEAKER_06Yes, at the very end of the big deal. Brother-in-law wouldn't let me get up.
SPEAKER_02I kind of miss that. I kind of miss like having something to look forward to. Um, and I remember it being a big deal, like you can't, like, don't please don't spoil it for people like watching the next.
SPEAKER_06Well, I remember I'm someone that loves to something you don't know about me is I love to Google spoilers of things. I like love a spoiler. I hate being anxious. I love to know what's happening. So it was a really hard to find spoiler for the game.
SPEAKER_01Hard to see your friend jumping on the couch.
SPEAKER_06No, that was terrifying.
SPEAKER_05I'm like still thinking. Spider-Man took over you in that moment.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And that okay, good segue to Venom, one of the arch enemies of Spider-Man, and Venom is like a classic, like, nemesis where he's very similar to Spider-Man, but he like is parasitic in the way that he like takes over people and like attacks you.
SPEAKER_06Venom is part of this? Is Venom the one where the man's in love with himself on the inside? Yeah. Okay. That's Venom. I was I grew up on Tumblr. So he's in love with himself on the inside, according to Tumblr. And so Venom, how is he related to Peter Parker?
SPEAKER_02Spider, I mean, he's he's another one of the villains. Peter Parker has a lot, or Spider-Man specifically has a lot of continuous or like reappearing villains. There's um is his name? Dr. Octopus. He like Again, remember this character was created by Stan Lee. Rest in peace. He um Yeah. He would okay. Another thing, if you're gonna watch all the movies, um, there's always a cameo of Stan Lee while he was still around. Um so if you're if you see a guy, like an older guy with like um aviator glasses, okay, that's like the creator, one of the main like original creators of all the Marvel. So he he had created Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_06Okay, love. Okay, and so what do you remember about him? What do you remember about him? He said it's one thing to remember, Stan Lee created Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_02Spider-Man, and he appears in as many of the Marvel movies as a little cameo. So, like for example, in Guardians of the Galaxy, in one of the opening scenes, it's like a citape, and Stan Lee says something about like, oh, this is Scarlet, whatever. Um, and if you're if you watch like watch it in theaters, people are like, oh my god, Stan Lee. So when you're watching it now, you can say look for Stanley. Love that. Did Stanley write all of them? Not all of them, but he was a pivotal part of the Marvel universe. I do like with Spider-Man's villains, they're very like 60s 70s villain. Like there's Lizard Man. Because he turns into a lizard and it's like Spider-Man and maybe that's not his real name, but that's a that's a real villain. There's goblin, the green goblin. There's um Dr. Octopus. I guess there's yeah, a lot of animal themes.
SPEAKER_06So do they all do they all have this internally? Like I know the Spider-Man's webs come out of him, do they not?
SPEAKER_02Yes, and then he also makes like once he gets which I I don't know if this is accurate to the comic books, but um Iron Man is like he figures out and he's like, I'm gonna help you, bud. And funds a lot of his like technology. So it does come out from his original like wrists, but he has like cool tech that like makes enhances it okay and all that stuff. So we okay.
SPEAKER_06Is this like in the same world as Batman?
SPEAKER_04Because Batman no, no, I asked the wrong question.
unknownI asked the wrong question.
SPEAKER_07I asked the wrong question.
SPEAKER_02I could change that. I would be open to seeing some of it. At this point, it's again like there's so many Batman movies out there. Right. Um I yeah, so different universe. I while I was like in the Marvel universe, there was a big like, oh, you know, Marble's so much better, you know, DC so much better. It was very like, oh like Superman, like, oh, we got like Iron Man all yeah.
SPEAKER_06So it I mean Yeah, I mean, well it sounds like Iron Man's So Iron Man funds stuff, so he has money and he's made himself a superhero. Yeah. Sounds like Batman. Does he have parents? He does, but he has mommy and daddy issues, so his parents very didn't die and he's not being raised by a butler.
SPEAKER_02I know more about Batman. It's very, very it's a parallel universe. Oh. But maybe maybe it's like a DC Marvel parallel universe. Okay. What it and the chances of a crossover, I don't think, is ever happening.
SPEAKER_06Not with capitalism. There's not a chance.
SPEAKER_02Oh, do you okay? Another important thing to note is with Spider-Man, there's a point where Sony had the rights to all of um Spider-Man. And Marvel was trying to I don't remember all of the drama, but there were points where like Tom Collins couldn't take pictures with the whole um Cast of Marvel cast because there was like a like there were legal issues. This is so vague.
SPEAKER_06No, but that makes sense. It's like leak it's just like backdoor Hollywood stuff. Like you can't use this, it's just and you're gonna hate this reference, but it's like when Taylor Swift got her master stolen from her, and then she couldn't even use her own handwriting journals because it was owned by her label. So that's why it's like a big deal. So the same way that Tom Holland, this Spider-Man, Spider-Man basically got his lyrics stolen.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Tom Holland got his voice back. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Beautiful.
unknownIt's beautiful.
SPEAKER_02He got his voice back and he has a wife now. I love Zendaya. They're so good. And them and Odyssey together. Have you been watching the cross tour?
SPEAKER_01What? What?
SPEAKER_02I did see the Odyssey. I liked it. I was mad about some things, but I did read the Odyssey and I know what the story of the Odyssey is.
SPEAKER_06I was supposed to read it in high school, therefore I know what the plot is. Did I read The Odyssey? That's okay. This thing is huge. This thing is huge. Okay, okay. But what am I gonna do? Bye.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Spark notes is a thing. Also, it's a poem. It's written in verse form. Oh, I know.
SPEAKER_06That's so hard to keep your eyes on it. It's so fun.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm glad you have fun. The men were sitting waiting for us, weeping.
unknownLove that line.
SPEAKER_01What a perfect line that was. Love a weeping man. There were too many men in the Odyssey. Yeah, it sounds like it.
SPEAKER_02My one thing, this is a tangent, um, and then we'll hand it over to you. But in the Odyssey, the um costume design was pretty great. Obviously, like special effects, like there was a lot of great, great moments. The detail to makeup and jewelry, an afterthought. Anne Hathaway's performance was distracted, distracting for me because she had these like cheap, like fake. They looked cheap and fake um earrings. Was it part of the plot? No! They looked like they were like the the back hook of well also because I saw an iMac, so I literally it was like, you know, this big.
SPEAKER_06I love and respect Christopher Nolan, however, he only knows how to pay attention to detail and costume if it's a recreation of war. Well, Penelope. And that's a woman, also.
SPEAKER_02And that's like one day I'm gonna make the best action film that's ever appeared because there will also be great jewelry. And she'll and we'll star in it. See you guys there.
SPEAKER_06See you there!
SPEAKER_05Wait, literally, I'm so obsessed with that picture. It's so cute. Yeah. Alright, are you ready? I'm ready. Oh, I'm also in the sun.
SPEAKER_02Oh, cute. Do I look Do I look half? I have called this thing so many wrong names because I have I have no context.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, she has no context at all, and this is kind of the best way because similarly. To the problem is that I have some context about what you're talking about, so you're worried that you're not telling me enough. You have zero context, so I could be telling you not a lot, you just don't know. And I'll believe you. I would never lie to you.
SPEAKER_04Why would you insinuate that?
SPEAKER_06Oh, wait, hold on. Deborah says hello. She's so excited. I have to send her the link to first. Wait, oh my god! She's so excited for that.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah. So and she was like so excited. I did show her the little previews of it.
SPEAKER_06She's like, oh my god. Yeah, so she's incredible. Okay, so I did want to start there. Um, okay. So, do you have like even a con like a any idea of Summer House? I know the seasons and I know buildings we live in.
unknownPerfect. Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_06So, what I'm gonna explain to you for the sake of not going over 10 seasons worth of drama, because there's a lot of drama. What is it? Drama. Summerhouse. So Summerhouse is a reality TV. And very specifically, the broad premise is it is a bunch of friends that live in New York City, and on the weekends, they go to the Hamptons, and their entire job is to party and like be young kids and like have parties in the Hamptons. Okay. And so they every single weekend, so these are like working adults when the show starts. Okay. And so there's 10 seasons, and there's some characters that are consistent through the seasons, which I'll show you. And there's some characters that have just been introduced over the last couple years. I'm going to tell you the drama about Wes and Amanda hooking up and why that is relevant and how insane it is. Who is Wes and who is Amanda? And why are they hooking up? That last question I can't answer for you. I can't promise that I'm gonna have that answer for you. What I will be able to do is tell you who these people are.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_06And why it's like I think this situation shows why female friendships, like hurt from a female friendship, can hurt more than any breakup you've ever gone through. I believe that. So we're gonna start in season. We're gonna s so just to start from the beginning, there are some characters that are there the entire show, no matter what. So this is our cast, all hot. Characters that are here gonna be here for the entirety of the show. Okay. Amanda and Kyle. They are married. Amanda and Kyle are introduced into season one where Amanda is his side piece and he hooks up with other girls all the time, but like she's always around and ready to be like picked at the end. She's like the anyway. He is the some people in this whole thing have a lot of empathy for Kyle. I have zero empathy for Kyle. He's been a terrible husband for 10 seasons. Then there's Lindsay Hudbird, our girl boss. She's like a side character in this, so we won't talk about it. But her and Carl were best friends. They tried to date, they got uh broken up with, and those are the only characters they're here the whole time. We are going to skip completely the first five seasons because for the course of what I'm telling you, it doesn't matter. Okay. These two are still married, these two are trying to date, and in comes Sierra Miller, gorgeous, beautiful Sierra Miller. So Lindsay worked, all these people are like actually have jobs in the city, like they're hard workers, like they have a lot of money and stuff. But Sierra comes into the show during season five, and she is brought in by a guy named Luke, who we don't have time for, and she quickly becomes best friends with Paige, Hannah, and Amanda. Doesn't it? Lindsay is like an older girl in the house, she has a best friend, but all together they are best friends. They go through that summer. This is like the she comes in the COVID season, so she's a nurse, and so she obviously isn't a nurse while she's filming because they all move into the house for the summer. So this goes from being a show where like during the week, like it's like if you had all your party friends from your 20s, where it's like, okay, well, we used to party on the weekends together, and now we're moving in together 24-7 and we're being recorded 24-7. So that so it's like La Violence, basically, yeah, for that just the season that Sierra comes in at. But it comes in with like heightened emotion, so that automatically brings those four like super close together. Well, not those four, these two have a falling out, and then Amanda gets I mean, not a Amanda gets pick kicked off of the show. Paige, and then it doesn't really matter, we don't need to get into that. But Paige, Sierra, and Amanda become the three best friends on the show for the next three seasons. Okay. Until season eight, where we get two new characters. There's Sierra looking beautiful, there's Paige looking great. We get Jesse Solomon, there's Lindsay again, and Carl. Okay, they're together. And then And then that is there, we don't have time for any of them. We'll just move on to there's Kyle. Who's this? Oh, West. There's no bombshells. This isn't actually Love Island. People just get brought in and out because they're friends. So like the whole premise is like they have real friendships outside of the show. And so, like, what we really see is like their weekends and just their summer. So, like, there's drama that happens all year round with these people. So, this is West and Jesse Solomon. This is their big year that they come into the show. And right off the bat, because Sierra is a model, a nurse, and is the most beautiful person you've ever seen in your life, both of them are like in love with her. But West calls Dibs, disgusting, whatever. However, West and Sierra have the cutest little love story the whole season, where West is like really trying to get with her, and she's like very much like, I'm not someone that's like in it to get my body count up if I'm going to hook up with anybody, like I don't I want to be in a relationship with them, so it's like very much so like he's willing to do that. It's super cute. They finished the season and they decide and they're together now. So like they're dating, she meets his family. As soon as this show starts coming out, Wes breaks up with Sierra and does an interview, not doesn't just like break up with her, he does like an interview with like Vulture or something, and he's like, Sierra wasn't my person, and like What the What? And Sierra's like, and like that you can tell that Sierra still like kind of has feelings for him, so like it really hurt her, and he like comes out and says this. And like at the reunion, everybody's like, We get that like that you're we're on reality TV now, and like it's super exciting that that's happening for you, but like we are also real people at the end of the day, and we have no idea how you would rather all these random girls in your DMs, and this is Paige saying this. I wish we had time to talk about Paige because I love her. But she's like, we understand the appeal of like being on so on being on reality TV and like whatever, but like you also have Sierra Miller, one of the most gorgeous, like kind, gracious. She was a nurse during COVID. Like, the only reason she wasn't in the hospital is because she was filming a reality TV show and still continued to be a nurse until literally like the last two years, and she's been on reality TV since 2020. She's just and she's brilliant and kind, whatever. So at the reunion, they kind of like duke it out with him, and he the whole next season, he's like the sad puppy dog. He's like, Well, uh, Sierra laughed at my joke. Oh my god, and like the audience, including myself, like, is eating out of the palm of his hands. Like, he really wants to be like respectful of her, and you can tell Sierra still cares about him, but like it was kind of like, Well, we don't want her to like she didn't never back down on her morals. She wasn't gonna be his friend, she wasn't gonna like let him in her life, and she really like had strong boundaries. And so for the next, I think it's yeah, season nine, it this page last this is Paige's last season, and this is why it matters because Paige was kind of like Sierra's distraction a little bit from West, um, because it's like, well, she can hang out with her one friend, or she has to hang out with the whole house, and West is there. This year, Paige decided not to come back in season 10. Also, this whole time, Kyle and Amanda have had the most ridiculous marriage you've ever seen. And Sierra, in like in a way that like he had like cheated on her early when they before they even got married, she found out they cheated on her. Have you ever seen that meme on TikTok that's like he's like, I haven't flirted with girls in six months. And she goes, We've been together for two years, Kyle. Like, if you've ever heard that sound on TikTok, that's them. He literally like goes out and parties, and they're just like not a match for people, and he is like literally a manipulative, like he's got a lot of sympathy in this situation, but I'm just like ew. But in that, Sierra has been the kindest, most gentle friend, and like supportive Amanda, and always telling her, like, you're worth it, you're beautiful, like he is not, like, you do not need him. Like, you can do make your own happiness, like and like his Amanda and all these fights with Kyle, like is really small, and like during season 10, where Paige is no longer in the house, and Amanda is kind of and her her and Kyle's relationship is kind of crumbling in front of us. Who just to make sure you remember who that is. So, this is Amanda, and this is from Simpson, this is this season. So, this is actually Sierra's best friend Mia, who is beautiful, and then there's West, Kyle, Amanda, and Sierra. And you can tell just by the vibe of this picture that like this is Sierra and Amanda's season, and so throughout the whole season, it's like how good of a friend they are to each other and how much they love each other, and also West and um Amanda are getting super close in a way that like on TikTok, like, yes, so this is the married Amanda, and West is brought on the show because he's friends with Kyle, and there Kyle and West are best friends, so they start showing up appearing on TikToks together, and everyone at the time is like, good for Amanda, she's getting out of that toxic relationship. West is being such a good friend, and throughout the whole season, yes, so throughout the whole season though, West is a like literally trying to get back with not get back with Sierra, but he's like trying to mend their friendship, and they end up kissing and making out at the end of the season. Amanda knows and is like cheering him on halfway through this last season, Aaron, mind you. So, okay, let me do this. They finish the season, that's what's happening on the show that season. Um, Amanda and Kyle are having a really rocky situation. Sierra's being a great friend to Amanda, and West and Amanda are getting like really close, and it's not like weird, but like it is something that people are aware of. So then the show starts to air, and Amanda and Kyle have divorced over the break from like the end of winter or the end of summer until winter. They got divorced in the middle of that, like around Thanksgiving. And then the show starts airing in January, and Amanda and Sierra are doing like interviews together, and like they're just being supportive of each other, and they're talking about like their mental health journey, and Sierra's like talking about she's literally like talking about Lexa Pro and like how much she loves it, and she's just like being so pro mental health, and so is Amanda, and like everyone's like, we love seeing both of them win, and Amanda gets rewarded with a spin-off TV show from all of this drama that she has with Kyle or whatever. And then halfway through the season airing, while we're watching West like pursue Sierra basically, and Amanda be like, yeah, and Amanda be like, I would if Sierra told me to cut him off, like I would I would cut him off for her, like all these weird comments. All of a sudden, there start to be rumors that Sierra that Amanda and West are hooking up, and it's like really weird, and then so this is like all the way through February. The Super Bowl happened, like at the beginning of at the end of January is when the rumors start. At the Super Bowl, West and Sierra go to the Super Bowl together, like it's on a brand trip, but like they're obviously together. West, while these moments are happening, Lindsay, the one we I talked about, she was from the beginning of the blonde. She's been on the show this whole time. She is here in her first year of like being a mother, and he, while these rumors are happening to like dissuade the rumors, he posts on his Instagram story a video of him with Lindsay's child, Lindsay and Sierra, to basically be like, it's preposterous anyone even like say we're all hooking up. Why would Sierra spend time with me? That happens through February. Dave Portnoy comes down and is basically like they've been hooking up since before the Super Bowl, Sierra West and Amanda. And then two weeks into March, while the season's still airing, West and Amanda put out a statement saying, basically, we have been through so much with each other, and our feelings have changed, and we are looking into what our connection is like. Not even we're in a relationship, just basically like this friend this changed really quickly. They're basically making an announcement that they're doing it. And so everyone's like, What? And then it comes out the closer we get to the reunion, on the reunion, Amanda and West basically don't answer for anything. And Sierra's like, I was your friend. Like at the end of the day, it's more disgusting, like the friendship that Amanda did to Sierra. Like it's West is West. Like he's a man, he was always gonna be crappy, like he was her terrible ex. But mind you, he was her terrible ex. That in the press, the only time he addressed his relationship with Sierra was saying that she was not his person, and now one of her best friends, and then it comes out Sierra had known since January because she was watching Amanda's location and would see her at West House, and she wouldn't answer Sierra. So to be better for the show and be a smart businesswoman, Sierra was gonna go through the entire season and then on the reunion say, I know you guys are hooking up, but Amanda trying to get ahead of it ruined all of her brand deals because all of these brands were behind her, being like, She's on her single, whatever. She got a spin-off. Everybody was ready to root for Amanda, and Sierra was basically priming it to be like, How do we get more publicity for the show? Because Amanda and Wes put out like a chat GPT, literally chat GPT statement that they didn't have any PR people in the middle of this drop, ruined all of that for themselves. And now Wes and Amanda are no longer on the show, and Summerhouse is filming now. To bring it back to why I wanted to tell you about this, that is Sierra, the co-host of After Sun, that I love. She ended up winning and became the co-host of After Sun after all this went down. So Sierra wins anyway.
SPEAKER_07That's why I wanted to tell you about this.
SPEAKER_04You thought I wanted to tell you about this for no reason. I wanted that space. That's amazing.
SPEAKER_02What? That's insane. Insane. I respect a smart business woman despite the tr that's so awful. Yeah. And just like icky, icky.
SPEAKER_06That's great.
SPEAKER_02With the the show, was it did it air like every week?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it aired every week. Um it's every Wednesday. And what was really crazy is like literally the season most people were so excited to see Wes and Sierra come back together. Because their first season was really sweet. Like they so you could tell Sierra really cared about him. So I think people wanted uh to not be right that he sucked, but like at the end of the day, he just sucked. And now the weirdest part is that there's like, I don't even want to talk about this because it's weird, but like there's rumors that Amanda's pregnant. But after all, oh, and also there was a reveal on the reunion that while all of this was happening, they put out that statement. West had a girlfriend this whole time for over a year, and Amanda knew about her. So she was willingly being a side chick and put out a public statement to say they were discovering their connection with a guy that she that had a girlfriend. When I t I didn't want to say that at the beginning to ruin it, but she's like literally the pick me fauna boss because like her and Kyle's story, and again, I don't want to downplay how toxic their relationship was because of Kyle. Like, all of her being a terrible person does not negate the way that he treated his wife, was disgusting. There are a lot of people that are trying to like rewrite history and basically like, well, poor Kyle. Amanda was always as no, Kyle is a shitty man, and uh she like she had no self-worth because of him, but doesn't matter. Um, but yeah, so it's just like she's like the pick-me-final boss. It's like you didn't she had the opportunity to literally she was had multiple brand deals that were going to release the week that she put out the statement. Multiple before the reunion came out.
SPEAKER_02So she's dumb.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Literally, there was a quote this season after this all came out where she was like, someone was talking about uh I hate saying this because I do hate calling a woman stupid. I do actually, to my core, not like it, but I guess Kyle took out a $200,000 business loan for their company because they have a company an alcohol company. That's a whole other side tangent that ha we don't you don't care about. I just wanted to bring it back to Sierra, really, for you. Um but she was asked how she felt about it in her confessional, and she was like, Well, Kyle's the business mind. He went to business school. Mind you, she just opened a business door. Don't put your future in the hands of one man. Ever. Any one person, but like, especially a man. And also, Kyle still to this day will like not talk poorly about Amanda. Like, granted, not a bad, not a good guy. That does not make him a good guy, but he was and he was a terrible husband. But he has been a good friend to Amanda still, when she has been a good friend to no one in her life. That is the only good I can find in that man, but I there it has driven me nuts that people are apologizing for him.
SPEAKER_02That's crazy.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, do you want to know what's even crazier? Ariana Maddox, who's host of Love Island, she had her own, and we're not gonna I promise I will never make you blurred about Scandaval, but she had her own like cheating scandal on Bravo. That's how and then her season, that's when she became the host of Love Island, and then she's just catapulted since then. So it's like a whole when you're like all of reality TV, especially in like the Peacock um NBC Bravo universe, there it's kind of like when you're talking about like Sony and Marvel, like Peacock owns Bravo. So when you what ex someone from Bravo, like there's the entire Bravo channel is just reality TV shows. Like and so when someone becomes I don't want to say big enough, but big enough to be catapulted, that's when they move on to a peacock program. And then some of them keep their backup peacock, I mean Bravo, and then some of them just like catapult into the status here, but that's also have you ever watched Traitors? Traitors is like your nightmare. It's every single one of these characters, actors, like social media people, real um, like comedians, all of the like challenge people. Do you know like the challenges on MTV? Oh my god I don't know, I don't watch any of reality TV. That's so interesting to me because like they all come together and like it's a whole other thing. So maybe one day we'll talk about it. Because I think you'd actually enjoy traders. It's like a murder mystery show, and like at the end it like everybody has to figure out who the traitor is. Ooh, yeah, that can be fun. I think you would like that. So when we get closer to the traders, we'll actually go into that. Um you didn't actually have a lot of questions for me. This was a lot of me telling you.
SPEAKER_02But it was still very interesting. I'm I can't believe that after all the seasons, there was all that drama, and that it all happened so like suddenly this year. Like it all culmin culminated to Amanda being terrible and Wes being terrible.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And Sierra's still landing on top.
SPEAKER_06Which is all she ever deserved. And honestly, just to like kind of like bring it together, Sierra and Wes, I think what is also really interesting is like you can tell that most of the reason Summer House has always worked is because they were friends. Like there's shows where it's like they're real housewives. It's like, yeah, they're all you're all being paid pretending to be friends. Where West and Sierra looked at this as they were just like reality. I mean not West and Sierra. West and Amanda were like, oh, this is just like reality TV, like these co-workers aren't my friends. Like, but like everybody on the show was so emotionally rocked by this because they realized they were being manipulated by people. So it's really interesting. I think we're gonna something we've talked about a lot is like reality TV stars. I think the dichotomy of like what's reality, are you gonna live your real life and let it get filmed, or are you gonna pretend to have a life that is not real and like pretend for the cameras and then have a completely separate life?
SPEAKER_02But now I know. Now I know it's not house verse, summer verse. And it's like hi.
SPEAKER_06Um but now it's time to sandwich. Um, you know, I wouldn't I saw that we did that last time. Like, I was like, I'm gonna make you do this forever.
SPEAKER_04I'm literally gonna make you do this forever.
SPEAKER_06You have no idea. Um tell me about your weekend. Do you know where you were this weekend?
SPEAKER_02I was in New York. I saw I saw the World Cup and not in New York, but it was still so fun to see. Yes. Um, I got to see O'Mary and it was so beautiful and wonderful.
SPEAKER_06I didn't know. Oh my god, you went to see Okay, tell me, tell me, tell me how about it.
SPEAKER_02So good. I went in not knowing knowing it was gonna be funny, but I didn't realize it was gonna be that funny. I laughed so hard. Like I almost peed my pants. It was so funny. It was really you need to see it. Is it isn't it done soon? I would try to make it a point. I would see it again. And then, funny enough, um I realized that all I need is live shows and a bookstore because that's pretty much all we did the whole day. Um I got a few um books, and then we went Meg Stalter's the new I have to go.
SPEAKER_06I I just was like, I just opened it and then I said Meg Stalter at the top. Okay, then there's and then if she just got a new run. My I you've said that now twice, I will bring it back. Okay. Like happily. Oh my god, oh my I'm so happy when I had no idea. Okay.
SPEAKER_02And then I went to Coney Island, closed because of the storms, and it was very like eerie and weird. More storm closures, yeah, but it was still a good time. I still had a lot of fun. Um, and then I got to see the World Cup with some friends, and it was really fun. I I was happy that Spain won and that they won with a a goal and not a penalty.
SPEAKER_06I was also okay, so I did watch because now I knew what's going on. First of all, update. Actually, I don't wanna know if I want to expose him like this. I will tell you, but I don't want to expose him. My nephew's yeah, my nephew's favorite player used to be Messi, and then throughout all the drama of the World Cup, he is not um he became a fan of the Spain guy. So I don't want to throw him out there and throw him under the bus in case this is his book right. But my nephew ended up throwing a uh World Cup party, and I ended up getting to watch and I knew what was going on. Is this helpful? Yeah, so we were able to hang out. Did you like the halftime show? I got there at the halftime show. Oh. Um, but I did see it and it was good. I got there after Justin Bieber.
SPEAKER_02Okay. You missed Shakira. I saw Shakira, she was after Justin Bieber. She did some before and after. Um, it was so hodgepodge. It felt like it was different departments trying to make it. Well, I saw the TikTok that was like, well, it's Americans.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna get big Americans. We're gonna get the and then Justin Bieber fixed up and make a continuous. Yeah, I saw that TikTok, so that was like, okay, and I saw people think that makes a lot more sense. And that was my weekend. I love that. So fun. What was your weekend?
SPEAKER_05When did you go up to New York? Saturday.
SPEAKER_06And you came back on Saturday?
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06It's a wild red. Do you take buses or do you just drive?
SPEAKER_02A drive. Love that. Amazing.
SPEAKER_05I'd love to do that.
SPEAKER_02And I took the Saturn Island ferry and it was pitch black. It was a st we were we took the ferry through the storm, and when I tell you, lightning struck into the ocean. And I was like, we're fine. This is fine.
SPEAKER_01It was it was so epic though. I've it's because you survived. Yeah. You're fine. The details are determined.
SPEAKER_02They wouldn't run it if it was really actually not safe for people to you couldn't stand outside. Like we were. Right.
SPEAKER_06You were protected, you were safe.
SPEAKER_02You're here, so my my uh without a lightning scar. Uh isn't it true that when you get struck by lightning you get like cool scars? Well, cool as in like you're electrified.
SPEAKER_06You're electrified and your skin burns.
unknownCool.
SPEAKER_06Saturday, I literally, for the first time in a while, did absolutely nothing in a way that I needed so bad. And then Sunday I met my best friend's baby. Yes, we're gonna see him. He needs to see the show me the baby. He he's a weird one. Oh my god!
SPEAKER_03Wait, don't worry, hold on, hold on. There's just one.
SPEAKER_02He's side-eyeing you. Now he's like what are you doing then? Yeah, he's just as accused.
SPEAKER_06Oh my god. That was my view. And then I went to see my nephew for the and I went to the World Cup party. Well, I edited a little bit, and then I went to the World Cup party, that's why I was late. And then um yeah, and my sister made uh Philly cheesesteaks, and I was the sous chef, which I'm so good at doing. Yeah, and then I played Fortnite with my nephew, and then so yeah, boring but lovely weekend.
SPEAKER_02I'll be more entertaining next weekend. That's totally fine. You know, a boring weekend is a great weekend too. Good for the soul. Good for the soul.
SPEAKER_06Amazing. Yeah, well, this has been our pod.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. And she wants me to say it, so I'm not picking that.
SPEAKER_01I hope you enjoyed our channel because we're stuck on that. Oh my god!
