Hello, good afternoon. Good afternoon, Shusmita. How are you doing? I'm doing great and thank you so much for having me on your channel. And that's really great for me because we feel kind of connected today. And I don't feel like I'm meeting for the very first time with you.
SPEAKER_02So the the feeling is mutual.
SPEAKER_00And um, so how is your day treating you so far?
SPEAKER_01My day was uh going good, and today I felt more energized because uh today I thought not to goof off, not to waste my time because you know uh for two or three days I feel I have been feeling drowsy, sleepy. Uh I don't want to do birth due to weather, I think. So, if well, like whether I'm going to take a light breakfast or not, but still I'm facing some situation, you know, feeling drowsy. So I don't want to. So in the morning, I took a shower and I decided not to feel drowsy, but uh, I couldn't register myself, but I was trying, you know. I was watching some documentary series and then I was feeling drowry, so instantly I just go I went to the bathroom and then I washed my face, and yeah, I'm again here. So it was really difficult to maintain your consistency and just to yeah, yeah, quite difficult, I would say.
SPEAKER_00So you were under the weather, right? So how are you feeling now? Is everything okay now? Yeah, so as well.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm feeling well because it happens. I think in uh during summer season, you feel start like you start feeling drowsy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yes. So I don't know. I think I asked my friend, okay, are you also feeling drowsy like me? So she said to me, Yeah, this due to summer season. Uh, this is the day for sleeping. I think you know, every day we need to sleep, take a nap. Do you know we can also yeah, yeah, we can also call siesta and cat nap when we go for sleep. Yeah, yes, you can. I have like I'm getting confused.
SPEAKER_00Come on. Actually, because of yeah, I was saying that it happens with everybody because of weather. Sometimes the weather brings something like that, you don't feel like doing anything, something like that, and when you feel humidity, then you start feeling drowsy and you are not in the mood to do anything.
SPEAKER_01But if you had already maintained your consistency, so you have to do whether it is going like whatever it's happening, but you have to do you have to complete your all tasks because at the end of the day, by the end of the evening, you are not going to feel uh good, and you will regret you might regret it later. So instead of wasting the time, you can do you know, you do not need to evolve yourself maybe five hours, ten hours. So you just reduce, you just need to subside. Maybe you can do for one, two hours that can affect your communication. Okay, yeah. I think uh I didn't introduce myself, so shall I? Yes, please, yeah, please. Yes, sure. So, as you can see, I'm Sashmita Ra and I'm from UP Special District Gajipur area, and currently I'm working on my communication skill, and uh I'm not post I'm not doing a postgraduation. I have done my BSC in bachelor's degree, and right now I'm just working on my communication skill. I want to be fluent speaker in my future and trainer, and talking about my hobby, so I like to watching uh YouTube video, English related video, and kind of podcast and series, and also I love to do writing, journaling. So it's my hobby every day. I do for one period.
SPEAKER_00So you are into writing also, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because it feels that you know, when you do writing every day, when you do journaling, so you are getting something new, you can, you know, like you do not need to find in topic whatever you are practicing in a day, so you can jot it down, even though I read a story kind of not a book, I'm just uh reading in like through internet because I love reading, so I do it, yeah. So that was all my in information and introduction. Okay, okay, just a second. I have so yeah, I was talking about you know, like uh I do reading, but I don't uh I didn't purchase any book, so I prefer to read only online because I feel like I don't have that much time to read for two or three hours because I just need to read whatever I have. So I do so. What about you?
SPEAKER_00I don't know at all. So could you share? Yeah, so yeah, my name is Meka. I hail from the beautiful state of Uttrakant, and uh I have completed my BSc from Delhi University. Nowadays I'm working on my communication skills, I love interacting with people from different walks of life, and uh, I always try to learn something new from every conversation. In my laser time, I listen to music, especially hymns, because they fill me with the positivity and uh you know uplift my energy. Uh, apart from this, I uh also run a YouTube channel with the name Mega Zing's Galaxy, though, so that's a little bit about me. Yeah, I can see.
SPEAKER_01So I think recently you hit 1k subscribe.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So when did you create your channel?
SPEAKER_00Actually, I created last uh year in April. But the thing was that I was not consistent. I started with the grammar videos only, but uh recently I shifted my niche from grammar to conversational videos due to unfavorable circumstances, I would say, and it was quite uh time consuming. The grammar-related videos were quite time consuming, so I decided why not I start uh conversational videos. So that's how I started these uh types of videos.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so how did you get there? People are uploading in their conversational video. We can also upload on channel. So, how did you realize and where did you watch?
SPEAKER_00Uh, actually, uh, there is a channel, Sunita's English Adventure, Sunita Ma'am. Yeah, so with the help of uh her channel, I came to know about this thing because she also uploads these types of videos on her channel. So she was, I would say she was an inspiration for me to start my journey, conversational journey.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, okay, that's super. Yeah, I can see you speak so well, and I think uh okay. So, could you tell me about your journey, uh, English journey?
SPEAKER_00Not only I was not good at speaking, I would say. So I started my speaking practice in the month of December, or I would say January this year, 2026. I recently started speaking before that. I never did speaking practice. I there was uh English environment. No, there was not English environment, although everything was in English in my school, in my college, you know, the book, the content, everything were in English, was in English, but I didn't get any speaking exposure before that, and still I don't have, I would say. So I started speaking practice um with myself only. I started listening to English content and watching English content, and apart from this, I uh I did my speaking practice with co-learners on uh the speaking practice apps like CV, Ace Frenzy. Sometimes I did my speaking practice with Chat GPT also, and I also joined Sunita Mam's WhatsApp group for one month in March, yes, in March or February, I forgot, but for one month, but I was not able to you know take uh her classes because of time. Uh the timings were completely different from my timing, so I decided to quit but quit. But the teachers were quite good. But the advantage was that I got to know about um I I got some co-learners there. Okay, and yeah, I got some co-learners and I started talking to them, and that is how I started uploading. Yeah, yeah, that is how I started uploading my conversational videos.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, making online friends really, you know, commendable. These real it's not easy to make, and uh many I think uh a lot of people they are getting scammed by them, but talking about a few of them, they all are really privileged like us. Even I have my friends, and we all are like we all are blessed to have with each other, you know. We are talking each other and we are exploring many things, we are just exposing ourselves, and I started my journey also with them. We were not able to talk about daily routine and daily life conversation, but when we started doing it daily, we started putting our effort enough in this journey, then we increased, like we increased our communication skills, we improved a lot, and we boosted everything. It's been a seven month when I started uploading my video on uh this channel and uh taking session every day on a room. It's been a seven month when I started. I was very terrified, you know, talking about video session with boys, girls. I have just thought I was just wondering how people are performing, how they are talking to someone on video call. It's really frustrating, and that was really sucks.
SPEAKER_00But then I you know what yeah, yeah. Sometimes your mind uh you know gets blank. Yeah, you know, you know everything, but when it comes to speaking, your mind goes blank, right?
SPEAKER_01Yes, so I don't know what happens, but it happens with me, and you know, like earlier it was happening when I started doing it, so my mind you know would go blank, but now I'm pretty confident. I can see everyone, you know, no matter what kind of person I'm going to have a conversation with them, maybe uh adult, younger, or middle-aged, I can handle. Uh, like uh sometimes it happens when you don't feel good, you are not in the mood, and you are meeting and you are connecting with a beginner, you know, they are like a kind of very beginner, absolute beginner. And when they start talking to you, and you start also they are fumbling at the same time, you also start getting fumbled. I feel and it happened, and even though you know, when you are not in the mood, you when you are not full of pain, you start getting fumble. Though it happens, you know. I feel frustrated and I start doubting myself. Okay, am I not a good speaker? I have to increase my level, I have to improve. I think it's not enough. So I do it, you know. I do a lot of things, uh, chat gip practice and writing, reading, and recording my video. That's very important and mandatory. Recording your own video, and uh, due to recording my video, I reached at level, and yeah, I never speak.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the way you speak, you know, really strike a code with me. You are really you know, you know, your speaking is quite well. So, could you please tell me about your journey? How did you get this frequency?
SPEAKER_01Okay, so let me start. So it's been one year when I started in January 2025, first January, I started doing it, and earlier I was doing it but not consistently. Uh, because I was very scared. You know, I just knew that I can speak English, but I didn't know how to start my journey. So I used to take offline classes, but there was no any classes going on related to spoken, right? It was only grammar, but my teachers were able to speak in English and they suggested me to speak. If you really want to speak, so you have to devote yourself into 12 hours, and it depends on you how much practice you are going to do. It's completely on you. So I thought, okay, uh, despite being scared, I decided to talk to someone on CV application. I researched about CV and then I have downloaded that application. And today, two days I practiced with ARIA, and uh, there was grammar and everything, it was there, and uh checking error I was doing. So after two days, I realized okay, I have to meet a real partner, real English communicator. Then I will be able to focus and I could fix my vocabulary, everything, my English. So I was not able to speak in English, you know. When I connected with the one guy for the very first time, so he was speaking very well, and I was just able to describe my you know, like introduction. I was giving him my intro, and uh, I knew like how can I ask questions like how have you been and how are you? This kind of question I was aware of. So when I connected with him, with him, so I thought and it hit hit hit me, you know. It hit me, and then I decided, and it was my turning point. I decided I have to devote myself at least five and six minutes or maybe ten minutes daily. I speak to someone, I have to speak to someone, and I started. I was just checking for 10 days, and day by day, the day like uh each passing day it increased. My like uh I started getting over my shyness on my shyness, and it within one month I felt like okay, something I'm getting, and uh I'm becoming more confident day by day, so why not to continue this? So I started doing it. It's been a four or five months, so I felt like yeah, I think uh that moment uh something I reached and I worked on my confidence level, and that was the second time it was about my daily routine. How can I speak? My daily routine and uh talking with my friend, different kind of situation, you know, like you can't talk with the same topic every day, you can talk about your daily routine, what did you do in your day? So it was really a struggling point for me, you know. I was not able to describe and I was not practicing with Chat GPT. If I was aware of Chat GPT a lot, so maybe it was not a longer, I could do that, but I was not focusing, I was just using Google Translator. But while talking to my friend, whenever I used to get fumble, I used to uh ask Google Translator Hindi to English, I was just translating. So uh I used to do every day the same thing, I would do every day, and uh six months I felt okay, I'm moving toward intermediate level. So I decided even my friend told me to try to approach YouTuber these days. Like Sunita, I was not considering myself, okay, one day I can talk to them, you know, on video call and it would be commendable for me. So after six, seven months, I started my English conversation on video conversation. Uh, I remember for the very first time I connected with the one guy, and I told okay, I didn't connect with anyone, you know, so far uh yet in my life, so it would be a bit difficult for me to face camera and just talk to you. But I spoke very well. I got scared just for two or three minutes, and then it was all things it has faded away, right? But I was looking like a very serious because I was not that much confident. I was serious, and my face was uh looking strict kind of girl. But uh, second conversation with the Minukuri and uh Sunita ma'am, third one. So day by day I thought, okay, I'm becoming more confident day by day. Why should I not try to increase my label and uh be confident? So one month I did it three, I think three and four weeks. I started taking sessions every day. In a day, I used to take two and three sessions, and within a week, you know, like a two weeks, three weeks, I completed and I got over my shyness and I felt very comfortable and I started uh becoming more confident. I decided okay, I will do it daily. So now it's happened due to practice, so that was my journey, you know.
SPEAKER_00But uh, I want it quite uh you know, inspirational journey, I would say. So, have you ever taken online classes?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, for improving your yeah, I forgot to mention here. Uh, in uh I think May and July, I just I was just wondering, you know, I didn't start my YouTube. I think I had a YouTube channel, but I was not posting. Uh, I just created uh I uploaded two video of mine, but I was not good at it. So I thought okay, I just wanted to get rid of uh getting fear. So I thought to take a subscription from from Clapping. Clapping 12 classes, it was there, and it was just a 15 minute it was ending, and uh yeah, it was good, but not that much, you know. I couldn't get anything, but I was able to face camera. That thing I got, so there was something I got, but uh the time was very short and I was not able to face quite a less time, I would say. It was very you know short conversation in just uh 10 minutes. I was just uh you know introducing myself, and I was getting one in two minutes to discuss about any topic to discuss on topic. So, how could I do that? So somehow I completed 12 sessions and then I started taking classes from Gatri Mam, Gatri Sharma, she's also a YouTuber, as you know, and yeah, Rajni ma'am Gather both are teaching uh student one in one session. So I took session, 12th session, and then she told me it will happen, but you have to maintain your consistency, keeps like keeps growing and keeps practicing daily because practice makes perfect in any form. So I decided I was not that much confident in Gathu Mam session, but when I started doing like that, you know, I thought I have to practice with the beginner first. Then I would think, but you know, I didn't think like that. I started uh approaching a lot lot of people like Rajni Mam uh Ramsar, a lot of people, then I got something and I felt more comfortable and I'm very, very over the moon, you know. I'm over the moon these days because I'm able to handle it and everything, so that's really remarkable. I can't forget. I just see that happiness in your face. Yeah, like you know, until that moment you were not able to, like, you were just wondering, it was a kind of dream for you, but today you are doing it, and it has come true. You have already made your dream, right? Yeah, it's still another kind of thing, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so it was quite a creational journey, I would say, and uh you put a lot of effort towards this uh neurolanguage, and you got the result, so that is fruitful for you.
SPEAKER_01Yes, right, yeah, like I used to watch a lot of video how to speak in English, but uh, you know what happened? What I was thinking, I could speak I will be able to speak in English without uh practicing. It was a very you know misconceptions going on. Uh, I think two years ago. I thought okay, after learning vocabulary, fragile word, EDM, and uh grammar, I would be able to speak in English, but it was really you know misconception for me. But when I started practicing with a real partner, then I came to know no, it's not the right thing, whatever I was thinking. If you're not opening your mouse, so how could you expect you can speak in English?
SPEAKER_00You have to put a lot of effort, even a massive teacher will be cycle, yeah. So it is just like if you want to learn driving, then you can't learn by reading how to drive, how to you know set all the things in a proper way. You have to drive, you have to go, you have to drive, you have to start driving. You have to understand, yeah. You have to practice daily, daily. So similarly, it happens with speaking also. If you will not open your mouth, how can you start speaking confidently? That is true.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I agree with you. Like, you know, uh, if you want to learn driving, don't to like uh don't try to you know be like don't make excuse, okay. I don't know what to do, and even you are wandering and you are wanting, but you are not putting some effort, you're not uh putting some like you're not taking step for it. If you are not ready to take a simple step and small step for your future, so it is never going to happen with you. So we need to do that.
SPEAKER_00Take a plunge, yeah. So you have to take a Plunge in order to grow in any field, I would say.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we need to take the advantage, otherwise, we can't do that. We can't grow. So, yeah. Okay, so could I know about you? Like, how do you do like what kind of strategy you're following for your practice?
SPEAKER_00So, um, uh nowadays, what I'm doing is uh while doing my household chores, um, I listen to English conversational videos, podcast, English content. So, in this way, I'm doing listening uh practice, I'm consuming more and more content, English-related content in this way. And if I talk about my speaking practice, I do my speaking practice with the co-learners, with experts, and with beginners also. So it depends on uh the mail I am getting. So the mail I you know, I on a regular basis I'm getting mail, and I sometimes I also mail some people when I feel like I should talk to that person. So, in that way, I'm doing my speaking practice, and if I talk about reading and writing, I'm not able to get time for reading and writing. So I'm not into these two skills, but I want to improve these two skills as well because uh you know, for learning any language, you should have these old skills: writing, speaking, reading, and uh listening. So I'm consuming content by listening and I'm doing practice by speaking, but writing and speaking are you know taking a back seat in my case. But soon in down the line, I would try to inculcate these two skills also in my regular in mind.
SPEAKER_01There's a lot of benefit of it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so are you also are you also providing one-to-one like a session or teaching to no no actually I'm not into teaching English teaching nowadays. What I'm thinking is that this is my dream. I would say this is my aim. I would uh definitely try to provide one-to-one session to beginners intermediate according to my level. So if I talk about uh my current uh feeling or situation, I feel that I'm not uh uh that much proficient, I would say. Yeah, I feel like the same thing.
SPEAKER_01I feel like okay, I'm not capable that much, so it's not a great time for me to start.
SPEAKER_00But at the same time, I also think that there is no time for you don't know, you can start, you know.
SPEAKER_01Like, did you notice? I think uh many days ago I met one girl, not a girl, I think she is adult, and uh she was a little beginner, but she was teaching beginner. Could you imagine? Okay, and I also not at intermediate level.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I don't feel like that. I think that if you are you know at least teaching Bigner intermediate, you should like, for example, if I'm teaching intermediate, I should be at intermediate level.
SPEAKER_01I believe that I can teach Bigner, I feel that I can teach Bigner, but you know, like you must start taking even uh I'm thinking to start my own one-to-one session. I want to provide, and because when you do, and did you notice a lot of people like Rajni ma'am and uh Mansi ma'am, Karishma ma'am? And there are many, I think uh Anstruman and I think uh one I know they were suggesting me also, and they were telling that uh they started their teaching when they were beginner, they were at intermediate level, so they started providing one-to-one station. So, why like you should also start? So, I'm thinking that you are capable, but we don't know how much capable we are.
SPEAKER_00We just um sometimes you know what I think is that uh uh like for example, I think that uh I should be more uh proficient if I want to, I don't want to misguide my students. Yeah, so that yeah, so that is my feeling, but I think most of the most of the beginners I also noticed some of beginners they are also teaching beginners, and I also feel that they are not that much proficient, but still they are starting actually.
SPEAKER_01So they're doing it, so why are we not? Even I'm thinking even if they are beginner, but they started doing it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so why not? Yeah, definitely. And along with that, uh I also believe that teaching is the best way of learning. Yeah, so I will think about this one more time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, even I was thinking about one of my friends, she started her teaching, so she suggested me you should you must start. So I thought, okay, let me start my journey with a teaching. But talking about you know, communication, I can't like I can give them spoken classes, but they if they are asking to go for grammar, I can't do that. It's not not my cup of tea to you know go profoundly and ten says adjective advert not.
SPEAKER_00I talk about you know myself, I can teach grammar in a proficient way. So you can grammar, yeah. You can put my yeah, yeah. Yeah, so I'm I will think about this. So um, so Smita, I'm running out of time because it was really one, yeah, yeah. Same the feeling if the feeling is mutual, and um looking forward to one more session with you.
SPEAKER_01Definitely, I will message you after two days and then we will have a conversation for my channel. So, yes, bye bye. Have a great day. Bye, take care. Bye bye.
